Guest Reviews
- Gordon (10/5): When you stay somewhere, it’s all about the staff. Amy was aces! Real sweetheart. -
- Chen Yen (10/5): Special stay in a special place - Incredible historic building, and the hosts and innkeeper have so much pride in making sure every detail has been anticipated
- Fdkendall (9/5): Hotel with character and friendly staff - This is an unusual hotel with great character - quiet and fun All was as expected with friendly staff
- Jon (10/5): A beautiful homely place to stay. Excellent and highly recommended - This is a beautiful building, filled with beautiful things.
Communication about our arrival was fantastic and we were immediately made welcome with a tour of all the rooms.
There is no upper floor so everything was on the same level.
We had a lovely room, bath AND Jacuzzi in the bathroom. And easy access directly from our room to the gorgeous pool area, with lots of seating in shady or sunny spots as you wish. Nothing. Just perfect
- Amy (10/5): A very special place to stay - Just gorgeous! You feel very special when you stay here. Every detail is thoughtful. The pool area is lovely. The living room is cozy and inviting. Nothing. It was lovely.
- Frances (9/5): Liked our stay very much. Would recommend it! - All one level. Bed was very comfortable. Free parking was a real bonus. Staff were very attentive! Breakfast yogurt left out was warm.
- Marc (9/5): -
- J (9/5): We were wonderfully well looked after.. home from home style - An interesting period property with guest comfort high on the agenda The bedroom opened directly onto the communal breakfast room
- Sharon (10/5): The feeling of being in someone’s special house was lovely. The room was spacious and comfortable and the location was - Unique “home” feeling, beautiful decor.
- Marlene (10/5): -
- Felice (10/5): A perfect little gem in downtown Tucson. - I don't know where to start! Everything! The Inn was perfection! The rooms were charming. The history of the building and all the work that has gone into maintaining the authenticity, fascinating. We met one of the owners who was lovely and engaging. The staff were knowledgeable, helpful and kind. Breakfast was all homemade and deelish! Three of the rooms were occupied but we couldn't hear a thing from any of them. I can't wait to return. Location was within walking distance of Tucson attractions and restaurants. Highly, highly recommend. (Special commendations to the staff!) Not a thing!
- Mason (10/5): -
- Breck (9/5): Wonderful stay in the heart of old Tucson - Lovely historic property, friendly helpful staff, basic breakfast and coffee, comfortable room, honor bar. Not much.
- Elizabeth (10/5): -
- David (10/5): -
- Karen (10/5): - Beautiful old Victorian with architectural charm, lovely pool area, very good service. Welcoming and homely inn
- Janet (10/5): - This property is located two blocks from the downtown area and is a great location for exploring Tucson. Our bed was extremely comfortable! In the morning, there are well stocked coffee and tea stations, and the complimentary snacks were a lovely touch. We had a wonderful stay and will be back!
- Horner (10/5): Incredible - Inn Keeper Amy was the sweetest. Went above and beyond to ensure our trip was amazing!!
- Christopher (10/5): Classic B&B in the heart of the city. - Historic, well-maintained
- Fernando (10/5): -
- Sorin (10/5): -
- Margie (10/5): - It was a beautiful place. Amy our host was very kind and helpful. Walking distance to many restaurants. We enjoyed our stay and would come back, again.
- Jennifer (10/5): Staff were lovely. Bed very comfortable and overall a lovely place to stay. I was made very welcome! - Lovely hotel with very helpful and friendly staff
- Rachel (10/5): I can’t wait to stay here again! - The history of this place is incredible and the architecture was so unique; you really can’t find another experience like this. There’s so much within walking distance, no matter what you might be into: murals; boutique shopping, great food, concerts, people watching, or walking around one of the longest-inhabited places in the U.S.
The staff is also phenomenal!
- Hiyo (10/5): A Magical Stay Filled with Warmth and Charm - My experience at this hotel was truly magical—beautiful, inviting, and absolutely unforgettable.
I stayed in the Rose Room for nine nights, and it felt like something out of a fairytale. The decor was adorably elegant, just like a princess’s room. The bed was wonderfully soft, and both the shower and toilet were clean and very easy to use.
The hotel also features a pool and spa that guests can use anytime. The spa was warm and soothing—almost like a hot spring—and perfect for unwinding after a long day.
Breakfast was served buffet-style and always delicious. I especially loved the occasional handmade quiches and freshly baked bread—they quickly became my favorites.
But what truly made my stay special was the staff. Every single person I interacted with was kind, thoughtful, and incredibly attentive. They always made sure I was comfortable and helped with anything I needed, no matter how small. Thanks to them, my nine-day stay was not only comfortable but truly heartwarming.
If I ever visit Tucson again, I would absolutely choose this hotel without a second thought.
Thank you for the wonderful experience! The power outlet is a bit far from the bed, so bringing an extension cord might make your stay even more comfortable.
- Antony Oldani (10/5): - This place is uniquely elegant and full of charme
- Sara (10/5): Exceptional - Decoration/Style/location/cleanest/organized/amazing
- Kathryn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chavez (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vivien (10/5): Beautiful accommodation. You’ll love it if you like are interested in history & antique - Very comfortable and in a beautiful historic building. Beautiful pool area. The staffs and owner are very friendly & helpful. Wasps in the pool area
- Jonathan (9/5): Superb -
- Aaron (10/5): Amazing setting even better staff - Amazing staff and a great setting, if I could have spent a month at the hotel I would have.
- Pamela (10/5): Best place in Tucson - We liked everything from start to finish. We were welcomed like family and they even had a gift in our room to celebrate my husband’s doctorate. We couldn’t have asked for more. The short stay!
- Guillaume (10/5): A full service old style stay in a beautiful mansion - What immediately makes feel at home, is you host Shae. From the moment you enter this beautiful 19th century mansion, you are taken care of in a sense that is exceptional. When asked what like for breakfast, I said croissants. The next morning fresh croissants were served that would make a frenchman jealous! Location and parking, all is perfect. If you like large hotel chains then this is not your best choice.
- Dennis (10/5): Great place to stay - Great location and exceeded my expectations
- Anmcm (10/5): Truly lives up to its claim to be home away from home - If you're looking for a distinctive base in central Tucson, consider The Blenman House Inn. Only a short walk from nightlife and shopping, this former family dwelling has character and appeal drawn from almost a century and a half of prominence in the city's development. Visually it is a work of art, but perhaps as important to the traveler it offers a peaceful refuge. Rooms lack nothing in facilities despite the building's history, and both the initial reception area and the adjoining garden encourage relaxation.
- Jim (10/5): - Great accommodation. Not easy to keep up a 150 year old house. This one is really well done!
- Samantha (10/5): Cannot wait to return - The entire place is beautiful and very comfortable, pool facilities are clean and relaxing.
- Chavez (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gidget (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sophie (10/5): Lovely stay in a historic building - Beautiful historic property in a good location near downtown Tucson. Deanna was super friendly and we really enjoyed our stay
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Beautiful, historic inn with a backyard oasis just a few blocks from Commerce Street with all its dining and entertainment options. We enjoyed our stay there so much!
- Thomas (10/5): - Great historical inn with outstanding hostess and service. Pool and hot tub were OK as long as you don’t mind all the flowers falling into them (no pool filter or scrubber). Beautiful landscaping. Very comfortable beds. Bathroom was small but, it was expected in a historical inn. Continental breakfast was good with fresh baked pastries and breads, fresh berries, scrambled eggs, yogurt and cereals.
- Greg (9/5): Deanne was fantastic - Loved the history and luckily had it all to ourselves. Hot tub did not seem to operate correctly/easily
- Joseph (10/5): Great Inn - A delightful and cozy in with well appointed rooms and welcoming amenities. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.
- Sheryl (9/5): Superb -
- Deborah (9/5): An unexpected treat on our way home from the gem show. - Well cared for historic house of interest and beauty offered by friendly and super-helpful team. Nothing - it was lovely
- Dawn (10/5): It was such a privilege to stay in one of the most beautiful and historic homes in Tucson. - It was the most beautiful home, that was such a historic time capsule. I loved all the authentic antique decor. The location was great for walking to many shops and restaurants. The staff is the friendliest and super accommodating. I wish the windows could open for fresh air, but understand that they probably can’t for safety.
- erin (10/5): - Fantastic!
- Jennifer (9/5): What a gracious and welcoming place only steps from the best parts of old Tucson amd the convention center - The ambience the staff. How much they all care about the history and care of this amazing building Plumbing a bit iffy. Long time to get hot water and try to be conscientious about running water in the southwest.
Beds are way too soft. Too many pillows everywhere
- Jeff (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vicki (10/5): Exceptional -
- Olson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sung (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jason (10/5): - Great stay and helpful staff. Coffee bar and snacks were much appreciated!
- CHRISTOPHER J (10/5): - Very polite hosts, clean, and unique
- Tina (10/5): Most beautiful comfortable boutique hotel I’ve ever stayed at and the staff was amazing! - The staff went above and beyond my expectations! They were so accommodating and friendly. My stay was wonderful and my room was lovely! I only wish I could have stayed on longer! I have referred the Blenman Inn to family and friends. It was a beautiful experience staying in this historic home. I will definitely be staying here again. I liked everything!
- Colleen Sue (10/5): - Absolutely delightful! Beautiful property, quiet neighborhood, very close to downtown and the Tucson Convention Center. Staff was outstanding.
- Jaci (10/5): Exceptional - An absolute gem, particularly if you want to step back in time to real B&Bs with real families and innkeepers hosting. The care for guests is very clearly first at the Blenman Inn. We mentioned on our way out the door for dinner that we needed to shop for shoes for our event the next day. When we got back, we had a wonderful handwritten card with store suggestions and addresses inside. Personal touches mean everything!
Breakfast is buffet style and homey, great quality and beautifully presented. Tea and coffee are available 24/7, as is the small bar (they ask a mere $5/drink for the latter).
The pool and hot tub are well kept and also 24/7.
Our bed was comfortable, there was plenty of hot water for showers, and all amenities were cared for and clean. The pride of ownership is evident at every turn.
Make time to listen to the home's history. Very interesting! This wasn't an issue for us, but wanted to give others a heads up: Mornings are quiet so as not to disturb other guests in this old house. If you are a very light sleeper or are a noisy riser, this may not be the most comfortable place for you.
- Johnkayak99 (10/5): Great spot in downtown Tucson. - Excellent location in downtown Tucson. Historic house in fantastic shape. Lots of personality. Second time staying here. Nothing.
- Yoshiko (10/5): Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Beautifully maintained historic house. Close to downtown. - The breakfast selection was extensive and we enjoyed our yogurt with granola. They also provided snacks throughout the day so we were never hungry! The location was fantastic. We could walk to the concert hall and to all the restaurants and bars downtown. Once we parked, we didn't need our car except to pick up our son. There is a bar next door that has outside seating. There was noise from there but I brought my ear plugs so it was okay. You could also request a room on the side opposite of the the pool and it probably wouldn't be a problem
- Terry (10/5): Cozy Tucson Gem - Such a fantastic experience. Everything was on point. Comfortable house, with privacy in your room, as well as lots of outdoor areas for lounging and living room with couches and chairs. Love the honor bar too. Location is perfect for access to all that downtown Tucson has to offer. We will be back!
- Rebecca (9/5): A beautiful hidden gem of an oasis - Every detail is paid great attention. The staff is accessible and responsive and very nice. The accommodations are beautiful and well maintained. TONS of charm in the place. The continental breakfast was a nice bonus. They are generous with snacks and treats and even have an honor bar with alcohol in the kitchen. Hard to say anything negative, but I would have liked the pool/jacuzzi to be better filtered. I also wish they would have informed us verbally that they give vouchers for a breakfast out; we didn't realize that until we were leaving and read it in the manual.
- Marlo (10/5): - We loved this hotel, enchanting! Beautiful property with great amenities & most importantly outstanding staff. We especially were impressed by Mollie who provided top notch hotel service & helped made our stay extra special. We highly recommend The Brennan House Inn, it will not disappoint.✨
- Joseph (9/5): Loved the house, the history, great location and great staff! - Everything about the facilities was fantastic. Great hosts/innkeepers, loved the location, rooms were clean, spa heated quickly, and the breakfast was perfect. Would definitely return! Only a couple drawbacks. The pool was very cold, which was surprising given the ambient temps in Oct were still in the 90s. The spa was great though and heated very qukkcly! The other was not the property's fault, but next door there was an event space where they had some sort of DJ/rave/EDM concert going on from 10pm - 2am and our room was on the same side of the property as the concert. None of us could sleep it was so loud, surprising they were able to get away with an outside concert so late. This was only on one of the three nights we stayed, so think it was just bad timing.
- Gina (10/5): This was a wonderful stay, that is in a great location for dinner and nightlife. Superb hospitality - The location was excellent and nice Continental breakfast. Hospitality and treats and beverages provided were excellent. Molly the Innkeeper made our stay a memorable one. She is a valuable asset to the property Mattresses too soft and tub/shower fixture needs updating. Daily room cleaning would be preferred for longer stays
- Melita (10/5): Would love to stay longer - The room was just great, very special...bed was very comfortable, the location is excellent to explore the city. Parking is for free. Breakfast was selfservice, very nice. we only stay one night because we had other plans... The shower was not so good because it was difficult to make the right temperature of the water.
- Joanna (10/5): We stied in one of the smaller rooms- it was still spacious. The bed was comfy and the room and the the bathroom clean a - Everything.
- Dennis (7/5): Good -
- Cameron (9/5): We hope to return and stay in this inviting inn once more. - It was in a lovely, quiet area of town. The building was beautiful and comfortable. the staff was attentive but not intrusive. It was a lovely setting to entertain our friends. the room was dim, plenty of lights but needed higher wattage in the bedside lamps.
Too many decorative pillows on the bed, almost couldn't find a place to stash them.
Would have liked a bit more substantial breakfast, but the fresh fruits and plain yogurt were a welcome choice.
- Yuan (10/5): Exceptional - location is nice, the room is clean, and the staff is very kind
- Steve (10/5): - Great atmosphere and providing a feeling of you are home with snacks available anytime. Nice greeting and learned the history of the home form 1878 and even viewed some of the remodeling photos. Would definitely stay again.
- Michael (8/5): - Staff all professional. Emails are the way I was communicating but there was a lag in getting the information in timely manner this way.

- John (10/5): Wonderful, historic elegence - The staff was terrific, the facility, absolutely charming, the pool., intimate & lively, breakfast, adequate to good. For us it was a fantastic stay, much better than staying at even a expensive hotel. I would recommend this place to everyone. None

- Zahra (1/5): Not a Hotel, it’s an Airbnb. Owners do not know customer service - Nothing I recently reserved a stay at The Blenman Inn through Booking.com, expecting a hotel environment as advertised. I also want to state that I absolutely did not want to make this review but have been forced to because speaking kindly and softly with the owner did not work. Let me be clear—I did not want to write this review. In the past five years, I have stayed at over 90 different hotels, and not once have I felt compelled to leave a review, let alone a negative one. I understand that issues arise; that is a part of normal life. However, what brings me here today is the owner’s complete and utter refusal to engage with their guests or make any attempt at rectifying issues. Their unwillingness to offer even the slightest accommodation is the sole reason for this review. As other reviewers have noted, their rigidity is astonishing. When everything runs perfectly, they seem fine. But the moment anything deviates from the ordinary, they show a blatant inability to work with their guests. It’s important to note that the Blenman Inn is not a traditional hotel but rather a home (with bugs) that is also listed on Airbnb. While, without bugs and bites, this setup may appeal to those specifically seeking a bed-and-breakfast experience, it is entirely unsuitable for business travelers or anyone expecting the amenities and professionalism associated with a hotel.
As a busy medical professional, my needs were few but essential:
1. Adjustable air conditioning, given the extreme Arizona heat.
2. A quiet, environment appropriate for a working woman.
3. A dark room to ensure restful sleep.
4. Front desk assistance, especially for late check-ins or emergencies.
5. And of course, no bugs and bug bites.
Unfortunately, none of these expectations were met. Upon arrival, I was dismayed to find that my room was located in the kitchen. Yes, that’s right.
- Jenni (10/5): Little gem - Quant, cute place. Homey. Really clean. Very comfortable beds. Lots of room. Nice pool area. Very friendly staff. Felt safe. Odd everything so locked to outside/inside, but may be due to Tucson. Just not used to where we live.
- Alicia (7/5): A jewel in Tucson historical center...in need of a few improvements (try to avoid late check in) - A beautiful old house in an ideal location downtown. Excellent innkeepers (Molly and Emma, thank you for your kindness). Owners kindly responded to my complaints at my arrival. Good set of options for breakfast, despite not being the "traditional" hotel breakfast. Pretty clean. Beds and pillows super comfortable. It is a historical place in Tucson and this is what you are paying for. Contradictory instructions for late check in process between the owners' messages via Booking and later messages from Innkeeper through SMS (the correct instructions were the innkeeper's). In addition, for a most direct communication with the owners you have to use SMS, which is a bit clumsy and inconvenient specially for non-US visitors. Last but not least, the air conditioning at the room can NOT be controlled from the room (ironically, there is a sign in each room asking guests to turm lights and AC off when leaving the room!!)...The thermostat is outside the rooms at the lounge, and it controls the AC in ALL the rooms of one side of the house. My room was freezing when I arrived (late at night) and, after several SMS, the owner came to the house (they do not live there) and very kindly explained this AC nonsense to me, offered me another room which was bigger and not so cold (for the same price) and provided me with 2 blankets..(!!). In summary, the Blenman inn needs: (1) avoid the existing contradictions in late check communications (2) investment in a decent AC control for each room.

- Andrew (10/5): - What an amazing Inn, I am local and wanted to have a nice staycation with my partner for her birthday. I had seen the Inn many time walking downtown but did not know much about it.
The staff is amazing, kind, attentive and take pride in the Inn. We enjoyed the pool and breakfast was nice and light with several options. They have a nice selection of wine and sports in their honor bar as well as a fully equipped kitchen if you want to grab some food and cook while you’re here.
I cannot over state how amazing this Inn is and how relaxing the stay.
