We attribute our great stay to two of the staff members, the manager Yari and the restaurant manager Nicolas, both of these staff members made our stay wonderful. The hotel is exceptionally well located to visit the castle and the town. We also found the chefs food delicious and opted to eat at the hotel most nights.

The image is of a terrace is for the top floor panoramic rooms only, whereas most rooms don’t get much of the sun and are covered by greenery. They use the same terrace image for all rooms on the booking, which implies lots of sinshine (no roof).

- Eduardo G (6/5): poorly managed food service - I had booked a parking space, but they told me they didn't have any, and that I should fix it on the street. It was a holiday and there was limited availability. After my insistence, they solved the problem.
- Chris (10/5): Great location - Very pleasant Hotel in a prime location on the river next to the old bridge with ready walking access to the old city. 2 nights in a comfortable room with bath and shower. Breakfast was ample with a good range of cold and hot buffet items. Service was excellent with reception staff supportive and helpful. On the critical side, the spacious balcony with good views of river, bridge and old town leaked from above, with tired floring. The spa is separate from the small hotel swimming pool at extra cost with the hot tub and sauna within the spa. No room service for food whilst the restaurant was open and fully booked. Overall, a good stay 8/10

- John (10/5): - Staff were superb, the view from the hotel was fantastic towards the old city/ castle and a short walk across the old bridge to the old town was 5 mins. The hotel had an indoor swimming pool which we used, it was clean and fresh towels were sat on the recliners next to the pool. We stayed on a bed and breakfast and every morning you had the choice of cooked, fresh ham, cheese and pastries. A small niggled for me was the dinner menu never changed the whole time we were there and we felt it could had a bit of a difference but each to their own. A great stay made easier by the staff and standard of service. I would recommend a stay here 100%
- Lewis (10/5): - A beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. The only downside was we couldn’t get a lunchtime cocktail because the bartender didn’t start until 6 (it was a weekend) which was the only fault we could find! Great stay - Merci!

Our 3rd floor corner room was spacious with two double beds, a bath and separate shower and most importantly stunning views across the Aude of the Pont Vieux and the old city. We stayed two nights with breakfast included. Breakfast had a good selection including champagne, much to my wife’s delight, and you could have it in the air conditioned breakfast/restaurant or on the terrace. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay but would reiterate that the view from the balcony was a major factor in our enjoyment. If it’s the same for you make sure to book a city view room.

Used the fitness centre and sat in the garden in the morning with coffee. The shower was the best (rain shower with great pressure!). Only there for one night but this place had everything we wanted.

- Géraldine (8/5): Un bel hotel, un lieu magique! - Un week end en famille, proche de la cité, avec une vue imprenable, personnel agréable, gentil, très professionnel, la chambre était spacieuse et calme. L’eau de la piscine intérieure était un poil trop fraîche pour moi mais mon petit garçon et mon compagnon ont nagé eux, et se sont refait.

However, staff were wonderful and tried hard to make amends for the issues, very friendly and attentive. Shame Sowell group is neglecting the hotel.

Nous avons du rajouter la moitié du prix de la chambre pour accéder au sauna, le carrelage est cassé à divers endroits dans la piscine et autour de la baignoire de la chambre. Nous connaissons des 3 étoiles bien plus sympas, je ne comprends pas comment ils affichent 5 étoiles.

Par contre il y avait de la moisissure dans la chambre et même des araignées, le ménage n'était pas vraiment au rdv. Les parois de la douches ne sont pas étanches donc la salle de bain devient vite une piscine. D'ailleurs, nous avons voulu utiliser la piscine de l'hôtel mais nous y sommes restés que très peu de temps car l'eau était vraiment froide... Dommage pour un établissement avec autant d'étoiles...
- Nicolas (10/5): - Hôtel qui mérite largement ces 5 étoiles. Chambre spacieuse et confortable, vue sur les remparts incroyables, personnel attentionné et efficace, petit déjeuner pantagruélique. Tout était parfait, sans fausse note!
- Joyce (6/5): Très mitigés - Positif : Bénéficie de la belle rénovation par l’ancienne chaîne Hilton, jolie vue. Chambres et balcons spacieux, belle salle de bains. Mais : Piscine libre mais accès jacuzzi/hammam/sauna payant. Choix de cet hôtel car situé à quelques minutes d’amis chez qui nous allions passer le 31. Aucune flexibilité pour libérer la chambre le jour de l’An même si hôtel non complet (Check-in 16h et check-out 11h). Opté pour un late check-out à 14h avec supplément, validé à la réservation et prélevé dès l’arrivée. Au retour vers 3h, porte close, réception éteinte et sans aucune mention de contact sur les portes vitrées ni à proximité, sonné à l’interphone, rien. Appel à l’hôtel : pas plus de réponse. L’hôtel jumelé d’à côté nous a permis de rentrer par le passage intérieur. Le lendemain vers 11h30 un appel pour nous dire que la chambre devait être libérée à 11h et qu’il fallait partir ; agacée, je rappelle que nous avons payé pour cela mais ça n’avait pas été vérifié. J’évoque notre impossibilité de rentrer dans la nuit, ce à quoi on me répond “Je ne sais pas, moi je suis du matin”… Lors du départ le responsable de la réception n’a eu que faire de nos remarques “chaque hôtel a son fonctionnement” et a soutenu la présence au matin d’une pancarte avec un numéro à l’entrée. Nous étions 2, rien n'était écrit, même en petit. Si pancarte il y a eu, probablement été placée après notre retour après s’être rendus compte de l’oubli. Hôtel en VIP access (10€ à dépenser) mais ne sont pas au courant.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent - Bonjour, ayant passé 3 nuits dans cet hôtel, je recommande à 100% je ne sais même pas quoi dire tellement que tout a était parfait pour nous, que ce soit l’accueil le service le repas le bon temps passé à l’hôtel, je trouve les prix très raisonnables et encore un 5 étoiles sur la gentillesse du personnel qui nous as rendu le séjour plus que sympathique. Une attention particulière à Meven,Nicolas,Jean Baptiste et Brice avec qui nous avons eu plus le temps de parler mais merci aussi à tout le reste du personnel qui a été top du début jusqu’à la fin. On a trouvé notre adresse favorite sur Carcassonne. À bientôt on espère !

Excellent buffet breakfast. 4pm checkin is later than most hotels Great pool use however steam room etc is part of spa at an additional cost of 45 euros per hour. Overall great location for Christmas markets and castle 🏰 would highly recommend

- Karen (10/5): Coffee and castles - Such lovely, friendly and helpful staff in all areas of the hotel, we had a most relaxing time and the view from the rooms balcony was spectacular
- Kevin (8/5): Poor Restaurant management - The hotel was excellent however the restaurant not so good. On our first night of two the manager tried to charge us for four extra drinks and if I hadn’t pointed this out we would have been charged. In the second night we booked into the restaurant and were told that out of an already sparse choice, two were unavailable. This was put down to it being a new menu. We left and ate in town
- Laura (10/5): - We had an excellent stay at this hotel. The room was an upgrade so we had a balcony and wonderful of the old city of Carcassonne. The bedroom had a huge open plan bathroom with large, round bath. We used the swimming pool, which is indoors and very nice for a quick dip. The breakfast was lovely!
- Dick (8/5): Great view - We had a nice balcony room on the third floor with a great view of La Cité and the Pont Vieux. The balcony had not been very well cleaned or swept though which is the sort of detail that a hotel of this quality should get right. The same goes for some of the crockery at breakfast. They need to check on the dishwashing because some plates were not properly clean.
- Alison (4/5): Not pet friendly at all - If you are travelling with a pet, this hotel is Not dog friendly Your dog is not allowed in any areas apart from the room This meant that we also could not use any of the other areas We had to eat all meals away from the hotel despite the fact it was listed as dog friendly We also paid an additional 40 euros for our dog to stay We fully appreciate that people do not want pets nearby when they are eating but this hotel should make an effort to provide for pet owners Not interested when we complained We had a superior room with balcony The balcony was filthy The toilet seat was hanging off and the room was smelly The tv was faulty Would not return again

- Roger (8/5): - Pluses: very courteous staff, beautiful views of the Medieval City, convenient for that and for dining, very clean overall, good sized rooms, pleasant gardens. Minuses: pool is very small and only opens at 10am, parking is near, very secure and easy to get to but the route back to the hotel is awful; it takes you all round the town on a one-way system, often choked with traffic. They do have their own parking - at 15 Euros per night.

- william (4/5): Expensive, disappointing breakfasts not VFM - We paid for a full castle view and was given a partial view, when l went to ask for a room move the receptionist said you have booked via Hotels.com so they where not prepared to move us, albeit l’m Gold member. Breakfasts are a disaster, the staff don’t clear tables or refresh the food! Stopped 3 nights every morning the same, on complaining the manager shrugged his shoulders to say so what!

I thought this hotel was worth the price we paid. Location was convenient and you could walk around very easily to restaurants or the castle. I would recommend this hotel!

- Eric (8/5): AC needs to be rethink - Super friendly front desk staff. Couch in suite was broken we think, we were falling in the middle when sitting. Front desk manages the AC... Had to call each day because it was turned off " automatically ". We had a suite with lots of windows so we had the option of keeping the blinds closed to be kept cool or toast with them open to have a view. Also, everyday day our keycard was not working. realizes that when we were sitting in lobby, a lot of people had the same issue. Weird. Lastly, housekeeping was very different than what we are used to when you pay $500 a night. Towels had make up from previous guest, if we had a pair of shoes in living room area, they would remain there rather then put them alongside a wall. PJ not folded and left on the floor after they made the bed, other then making bed I don't think they did anything else. Since not washed either. It was weird. I did ask and it seemed as if it was not normal to ask for vacuum and tidy up.
- Jacqueline (10/5): Wonderful Carcassonne base - The hotel was beautiful and perfect for the last night of our holiday in France. The front desk staff were very welcoming when we arrived early to store baggage and when we returned to check-in later they were helpful. The rooms are stunning, we had two spacious family rooms with balconies looking right out at the castle and walls. They were spotlessly clean and had everything we could need for refreshments and relaxing. The whole hotel looks recently refurbished to a high standard. The outdoor area was a beautiful space to spend time in the evening, hearing the ducks on the river. Bar staff were also friendly and welcoming. Location was perfect, between old and new parts of the town. In short, one of thd best hotels we've stayed jn as a family

The best view of the citadel was while we were sat eating breakfast. I would really recommended this hotel and wish we could have stayed longer!
- Emily (10/5): Exceeded Expectations! - We really loved the hotel! Our room was huge with a walk through bathroom attached and huge jacuzzi bath! The beds were so comfortable! We were blown away by the room and the staff were so helpful and friendly. We also loved the pool facilities and outdoor terrace with chess board! And the best view of the citadel while sat eating breakfast. I would 100% recommended this hotel and will go back, I wish that we stayed longer than 1 night!

- Ian (10/5): - We stayed here for two nights whilst we visited the city of Carcassonne. The staff were amazing, the city was beautiful and the hotel was excellent. The only reason we marked down the facilities was that our daughter would have liked the pool to have felt more child friendly and have been heated. All in all great place and I feel the pictures do not do it justice, would stay again if we return. Thank you.
