Guest Reviews
- Ronnie (10/5): Great Value!! - This place is hands-down worth every penny. You can easily have three couples stay here, full kitchen and all of that, so you can save money cooking your own food.
The master suite is huge! And has a fabulous tub.
I was a little frustrated and not hearing back from them. I had questions as I was traveling to Portland and never heard back from anybody.
the place had a little bit of damage it looks like there was a fire at some point? Other than that, it really was a pretty decent place to stay.
- Donald (2/5): Better have a back up plan and fireproof gear. - I booked this stay a year in advance. 3 days before my stay, I tried to contact property to no avail, so I contacted Hotels.com who advised me not to fret, just show up as planned. Well, when I showed up on Thursday 4pm, I contacted property again and they said oh yeah, we sent you an email, your reservation is cancelled due to a fire. How many fires does this place have? Look at other reviews to see how many others got the same excuse. If you do book here I would advise a back up plan or at least some fire proof luggage. Luckily Hotels.com got me another room nearby which was good in a jam, but the location was not as easy access to my destination. It looks like a nice place, but for peace of mind I would recommend finding a more trustworthy, reputable facility.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The property was filthy inside and there were three broken chairs missing lightbulbs carpet in the main area was filthy the beds were terrible they look like they were used by hundreds of people over 15 years. There was mold in the main shower stall and they were hairballs and other miscellaneous items thrown under the bed when we arrived very disappointing and very dirty
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I liked having more than just a hotel room and having a kitchen. I didn't like that you never are able to get anyone on the phone and you do not have someone on sight (or even in town) for troubleshooting.
When I first reserved the unit, 4 months before my stay, I spent weeks trying to call the owner/managers, calling the # listed on the ad. I left voicemail after voicemail, for 3 months, trying to obtain info about the property, like keys, access, parking, etc. No one called me back. It got to the point that 3 weeks before my stay, I called Expedia to cancel, since no one was giving me access info, and no one would return my voicemails (at least 18). Expedia contacted the owner (apparently using a different number than listed) and had them call me. They never called me.
I called Expedia to give me the # that they called to reach the owner. I called the different number and was finally able to speak with them. I asked them why they never return any of my voicemail messages, and they said that they never got any from me. I gave them the # I called 18+ times and they said that was his old phone # and that he hasn't had that # in months. I told him that the voicemail still says it is your #.
At arrival, they had to move me to another unit because my unit was flooded. The new unit was nice. I had 1 incident where I wasn't able to enter the unit b/c the lock box was malfunctioning. I spent hours waiting for a locksmith, b/c the owner didn't have anyone local to assist.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We loved the beautiful spacious apartment with its cozy fireplace because it truly felt like home away from home. A short walking distance from the Columbia river if you don't mind walking. Also, the place was very clean and provided adequate basic supplies for our stay. Having a full kitchen and washer/dryer was also a plus. Excellent communication with owner who provided easy to follow instructions to access the apartment and parking structure. Free wi-fi. Shopping centers and restaurants were within 5 to 10 minutes driving distance. We will definitely stay here again!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Cozy home, beds were great. We would definitely stay there again.
- Scott (6/5): - Close to Expo Center, short walk to riverside, homeless population in the area.
- Jennifer (2/5): - DO NOT BOOK!!!!!! We never got to stay at the property. There was a booking mistake in regards to the dates booked. When we reached out to the manager, he was understanding and texted that he was willing to work with us to get us scheduled for the correct dates. After I thanked him he said he would get back to me. That was more than two weeks ago. I have called numerous times but he ignores our calls. He took our entire payment for the four days. We never set foot in the apartment BE VERY CAREFUL. I don't know if this is a nice property or not BUT if you book it buyer BEWARE because if anything doesn't go according to plans this manager will string you along but will NOT help you nor will he do the right thing. He ruined our chance at a Thanksgiving vacation by saying he'd apply our funds to the correct reservation dates and then not doing anything but taking our funds.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - good place to stay, not far from the columbia river gorge
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, excellent communication with management.
Apartment was not clean. Left day earlier than planned due to being uncomfortable in apartment.
- Crystal (6/5): - Nice apartment, nicely situated close to expo. However the passage smells were really bad during our visit. There were no dishtowels, dish sponge, or oven mitts in the kitchen. I had to use a fork and slide the hot dish from the oven onto a plate. There was no mention on the site that you had to bring your own. Plates and cups were chipped, there was 1 teaspoon and 1 spoon for 4 of us, there were 3 knives and 3 forks only for 4 of us. I would have loved to see a recycling bin somewhere in the apartment to sort recyclables. The $80 cleaning fee was a bit steep considering we were very clean and cleaned up after ourselves by wiping down the sink and counters and cleaning all the plates we had used. (there was mention about there being a cleaning fee but not that it was $80). I had to message the hotel 3x and I left a message as well before I got an answer about where to find the key. They had no problem however sending me a very steep $80 cleaning invoice on check out day at 11:56am!
- Mark (10/5): - Very spacious, separate bedrooms, master bed and bathroom. Also, small deck to sit and enjoy fresh air
- Verified traveler (6/5): Apartment not hotel - Place is ok close to town, need better care of the place as some area are not clean. No view like picture, some misleading
- Cassandra (8/5): Will stay again - Really great. Will definitely stay again. Great area and good if you’re self sufficient. No lobby or service staff (it’s mot a hotel it’s aparments) but Tim responds very quickly if you have and questions. There’s a few bars and restaurants around. About 5-7 minutes away is a shopping area (Walmart, etc).
- Nicole (10/5): - Wonderful location and wonderful service. Easy drive to downtown Portland and located close to places to eat and stop for necessities.
- Todd (10/5): - Good value. Happy with stay. Would use it again.....
- Verified traveler (2/5): No bueno - Dirty, dusty, dog hair, not wheelchair friendly (as advertised)
- Jessi (10/5): - Loved the home very comfortable great space every was happy great location near everything and beautiful view will defiantly love to Stay here again!
- Pamela (8/5): - The apartment was spacious, clean & comfortable. It was convient to Portland International raceway where our activities were. ($7-9 by Lyft) The kitchen was sparse on dishes & utensils. There were no hot pads; a necessity with gas stove & pans w/ metal handles. It would have been nice if there was a list of what kitchen appliances were available. All the throw rugs had upturned corners. Assume throw rugs were to keep the light carpet clean, but a major tripping hazard. Very glad we were there on holiday weekend so we didn’t have construction noise from adjacent building project. The wifi we were promised was non existent; glad we didn’t need it. Wish there had been eating options near by besides the Marriott.
- Michael (6/5): Convenient, spacious, well appointed, poor WiFi - The apartment was in a convenient location for attending events at Portland International Raceway. It was also in a nice location to easily visit other sights in the Portland area and within a short drive to\from the airport.
The apartment was spacious and could easily accommodate 4-6 people. The beds were comfortable, with a full kitchen and two bathrooms. Our accommodation faced the main street but it was surprisingly quiet only occasionally noticing a passing car.
There is a parking garage underneath the apartment building with an assigned spot. However, there is no way to go from the garage to the elevator directly. You must exit the garage, walk around to the front of the building to enter.
Our stay was not perfect and there is room for improvement. Our apartment was not ready when we arrived at 6:30pm. The carpet in the room was heavily stained and worn. The internet connectivity was unreliable and very slow when connected. I was forced to tether my phone to my laptop to complete my work.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Picture of apartments in the ad was a view of the Columbia River, the only view was of a building under construction. The closet door fell off and hit me in the head. The kitchen counter stool was wobbly, didnt dare to sit on it after the closet door incident.. The a/c return at the entry had lint and dirt hanging from the grill. The living room furniture and oriental rug needs a deep cleaning.
- Martina (8/5): Spacious Apartment - We stayed for almost a week in a spacious 2 bedroom/ 2 bathroom apartment with a fully functional kitchen, and comfortable living room. The floor where the apartment was under renovation so we were very wary but the apartment was clean even though the carpets were a little worn. The beds were comfortable. There was assigned gated parking, so we felt safe. We had a small veranda that looks out to the parking lot, the view that is pictured is in the vicinity but you can't see it from the apartment, you'll have to drive to see those. The apartment complex is close to shopping centers, so that is also a plus. If you don't feel like preparing your own meals there's a lot of restaurants in the vicinity. Regarding instructions for checking in to the property, I called the day before our flight to Portland. I received instructions via text messages before we arrived at the airport. My family had a great stay at this property.
- geoerl (4/5): From my guests - I invited friends from Vegas and thought this would be a good alternative to a normal hotel experience. First I didn’t receive any instructions until just hours before arrival, I thought I was going to have to book another hotel because no one was returning my calls.
This is what they had to say about the apartment....
we really appreciate your love for us for the room and all that you guys have done but I just wanted to let you know we really like the apartment it was nice but you need to get some money back off of it because they weren’t ready when we came in they said it wouldn’t be ready till 530 he finally let us in and then he went back to clean it but all the dishes were broken and chipped there wasn’t enough for all four of us there wasn’t any toilet paper In one of the bathrooms and only one in the other bathroom
We left a note on the counter and asked for instructions of what to do when we were leaving and checkout time. asked for Wi-Fi password which didn’t work but anyway he never answered us back as far as what way to do what time checkout was what we were supposed to do with the sheets and the towels and all that so we just guessed
- Verified traveler (8/5): Reasonable and spatious apartments. - We stayed here as two adults and four children. There was ample room. The building and apartment are new and felt safe. The apartment was fairly clean, but not “hotel clean.” The area is pretty loud with major streets and construction. It is very convenient to the convention center and Max.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Spacious vacation apartment; poor communication - The apartment was spacious and comfortable, and the complex in which it was located was close to the airport and secure. There were two bedrooms and two full bathrooms in the apartment, plus a kitchen, living room and dining area. The building was serviced by an elevator, and was clean, modern, quiet, and in good repair.
While the apartment complex was easy to find, check-in was a bit of a hassle, as there is no front desk; the owner sends directions on how to find the keys in a text message. The cleanliness of the apartment was only passable; the shower curtain in one of the bathrooms had a lot of mold on it, the kitchen sink was dirty, there was dust accumulated in many places, etc. Also, several 'necessaries' were missing, such as hangers for clothing (even though the closets were big). The lights in one bathroom were out, but were fixed two days later.
On the Hotels.com website, it said that I would 'pay at the hotel.' Unfortunately, my credit card was charged the full amount for the stay the day immediately following the deadline for cancellation, which was a week after I made the reservation. It took several emails and voicemail messages to get the owner to respond to me. He said that the premature charge would be 'taken care of,' but it wasn't. He apologized, but since I made the reservation several months ahead of time, the problem should have been addressed. His availability was unpredictable; sometimes he was prompt in returning messages, and sometimes not.
- Maren (4/5): - This place is disappointing. The apartment itself is spacious. It was filthy though. Every wall in the apartment looked as if someone spilled a drink down it. The blinds were broken and looked as if someone fell into them.
The bedding was atrocious & filthy. Thankfully there was a washer and dryer where I was able to wash the bedding myself. The towels smelled of mildew and I had to wash them myself. More than half of the lamps did not have light bulbs. The furniture was cheap and half of it was damaged.
There was broken furniture in the master bedroom closet.
It is unfortunate that no one cares for this property as it has a lot of potential and was located right off the freeway.
If you care about cleanliness at all I would avoid this place @ all costs.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Love love the place. It feels like home. The person that owns it was also very nice and does responds to text right away. Parking is excellent! I feel like it was away from everything tho nothing worth the walk nearby. However, if you have a car everything is less than 15 mins drive. I would defy come back and highly recommend that the unit is excellent.
- Jessica (6/5): Just okay - will not stay again - Cleanliness is strongly lacking here. In hindsight, I am amused at the $80 cleaning charge - I know very well that $80 is not being spent on cleaning these apartments and if by some slim chance it is, they really need to find a new housekeeper. Location is fine, nowhere near as close to the river as advertised, but I kinda expected that. Cleanliness is the biggest issue, also free WiFi advertised but no instruction or password. Just two unsecured networks - not something I was comfortable with. WiFi instruction needs to be clear with a password on a secured network for guests and the place needs to be THOROUGHLY cleaned. Altogether, I won’t book one of these again primarily due to the level of cleanliness. Next time, I will stay elsewhere in Portland.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Sactogirl - Nice layout with lots of room. The beds were only Ok. A little too soft and the sheets seemed musty. Also no washcloths and not enough towels.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The apartment is spacious and luminous. But, it needs a good cleaning, a good one.
- Susan (10/5): - We've stayed twice this month in the same unit. Our son was graduating college so we planned 2 stays. The location was so convienent for us. Close to the airport, downtown about 20 minutes in any direction we needed to be. Love the unit, too bad the view will soon be gone because of construction. The enclosed parking garage/remote was huge plus. The trick to these units is to be patient. This is a BB, so its setup with what you need to get by. The 2nd time I knew what to bring for our week stay. You'll be notified with instructions on how to enter the unit. So, don't panic! I knew the 2nd time I be more relaxed. Texting is a must to stay connected after check. Honestly, I don't how it would work otherwise. Once you get the info. The communication gets better. It's all good. For the price it's fantastic. Cons: the coffee maker is wacky, I had to buy a can opener! The people we met who live in the building were really nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Stress free home away from home. - Communication - good, fast. Overall painless. Comfortable space.
- Jennifer (8/5): - The apartment was clean but not deeply clean. The amenities are basic, no extras in paper towels, toilet paper, kitchen items, etc. There is a very small view of the slough/river currently but a building is under construction that will soon obstruct it. There is a trail across the street with a tiny hill which takes you to a trail to walk right along the water! Check in was so easy and they were accommodating with parking! Since it's an apartment there is no cart to help with loading/unloading.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cant beat it - Loved our stay in Portland and Tim's Condo was more than expected. You will not find a roomier and nicer place for the price. Centrally located were I was anywhere in Portland within 5-10 min. The rooms were spacious and it has a balcony that overlooks the river. I would highly recommend you stay here.
- Emily (10/5): - Communication with the property manager was wonderful and helpful when needed.
- Jaynee (4/5): Sad to say, they canceled on day of check in. - I was looking forward to the spacious rooms, kitchen etc... to be disappointed!! I spent 2 hours on the phone trying to find another place at the last minute. They were nice and informative about it and I know stuff happens but what a disappointment while on vacation to have no where to stay after months of planning. UGH! I'm assuming the refund will come soon!!! Orbitz was great though!
- KEVIN (8/5): - the place was a good location for our work trip. the place was good and served its purpose
- Rich (10/5): Very Nice - We had a Nice stay here. Very clean and comfortable 2 bedroom/bath, each very private from the other.
Large fully equipped kitchen, fireplace and large living room. Secure parking area under building. It was a little different checking in, but the information texted to us was easy to follow and we had no problems accessing our room. Close to Expo Center, Delta Park and Hayden Island on Marine Drive exit.
We will stay here again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Enjoyed the stay - We had a nice experience at this property. The host was nice and easy to work with. They did delay on replying to texts, but it worked out and they allowed us to check in early. The only thing is there is major construction happening and it starts at 7 am so no sleeping in if you stay during the week. Once that constructions is completed, there will be no view. The view was nice when the workers stopped working. After staying for two nights, I was noticing that the noise what bothersome. The property had everything we need which is great for cooking and not having to eat out the entire trip. The bed was so comfortable and I slept very well. Overall we had a enjoyable experience.
- Wendy (10/5): Thank you! - The place was so comfortable, clean and excellent check in experience. A little out of the way from places to eat & hard to find bars near by, but it was very close to the event I was attending so I made it work.
I did like having a full kitchen to use as an option!! Thank you for a wonderful weekend experience. Loved the separate rooms & living space we had.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Worst hotel amenities - There was incomplete hotel amenities with the extra $80 cleaning fee.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very comfortable sand relaxing stay. Would highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good for a family of six, as long as you have your own transport.
- Sathish (8/5): On the Columbia business stay - This is a 2 bedroom condo for rent. For the money, it's a great value. It does not however have the conveniences of a hotel stay. No food venues, breakfast on the premises, etc. no turning over of linen and towels, etc... no toiletries, etc.. Otherwise everything was clean and comfortable but be prepared to bring all of your essentials. By the way, no views at all ....I was thinking it was on the Columbia River but the only view it had was a parking lot and a high rise construction.
- Susan (10/5): Great relaxing stay - We enjoyed having the extra space the apartment provides. Plenty of room to spread out in a well furnished apartment. The king canopy bed and master bathroom were highlights.
- Monica (10/5): Nice apartment with wonderful beds - We had a great stay in the two bedroom apartment. The space is large with comfortable king beds in each bedroom, and there is also a third bed in the "den" area that works well for a child. The kitchen was well stocked with full size appliances. Great value to be able to make breakfast in the room. We will be back.
- Richard (10/5): Loved the apartment, new and clean - Spent a weekend in Portland with my family (wife and 3 kids, and the dog). This was a GREAT choice to stay in the apartment. Beautiful, 3 bedrooms. living room with fireplace, kitchen, secure parking garage with reserved parking space. Very clean and new. Would stay here again.
- Spence (2/5): Totally wrecked my vacation! - 30 Minutes prior to arriving, I get a text message that they had a large water leak and they are going to have to cancel the reservation and they will send in a full refund to the booking agency. They did not find us a comparable room, get us confirmation number, address and or phone number of another facility.
They Just gave us a couple names of a motels they recommend nearby.
I never did speak to a person, it was always text messages!
I asked if he made accommodations at any of the suggested facilities, (he texted back: Looking into it now and will let you know)
I Got a room at another hotel, and booked it for 2 nights ( He texts me and finally gives me a confirmation number for that same facility for one night & he will find another motel for the next night. I text him back and told him we are booked for 2 nights in the same room. Sent him a text on who to talk with and a phone number to confirm they will cover both nights stay. He didn't communicate with the person I stated to talk to; next morning checked & no room for the 2nd night. He didn't communicate with who he needed too. so we have to clear out the room & move to another motel if we can find a room.
We had enough and decided to cancel our reservations with family & friends & head home. Not knowing if your going to have a room or going to be stuck sleeping in your car. It goofed up everything planned. He offered 2 free nights stay and I told him to send the vouchers. No vouchers! & Billed for 2 Nights stay.
- Nancy (8/5): - This was a nice place to stay if your looking for more room to stretch out, travel with large families. Nice to have kitchen to cook in ( although could use more dishes/pots) laundry in room was great feature as our son ( who we were visiting could do his college laundry) have enough space to work on his homework & even had grandma stay with us too!! Overall could have been cleaner, but enjoyed what this place had to offer !
- susan (10/5): Cozy, inviting apartment - Wonderful, cozy apartment....we loved it! Tim texted us with instructions for check in, which was perfect as we got in later than planned. The residents in the area were very friendly and the neighborhood was very safe and extremely quiet. Subway and a pizza place were a block away on the lot. Apartment had all the amenities needed for our stay. Beds were extremely comfortable. We had our own designated, covered parking spot. Floor plan is well thought out and there is plenty of room. We will definitely stay here again when in the area!
