Guest Reviews
- Anel (10/5): It was a great experience. I certainly recommend it to anyone who wants to get a stay with a great location and fair pri - The location of the property is perfect. It’s close to the main attractions. The staff was kind and helpful. I wanted to thank Tony who helped us to manage the booking and suggested nice places to visit. The service is awesome. -
- Nancy (10/5): A relaxing place with a manager whose food & sightseeing suggestions will make your stay even better - Tony was the best! He quickly answered questions I emailed before I even got to the hotel, had so many suggestions about food & attractions in Guilin & was just a great person to chat with. The hotel was also in a central location within walking distance of the attractions I was interested in seeing. Nothing
- Edgar (8/5): Very good -
- Anders (7/5): Good -
- Sonia (1/5): Worst and dirtiest hotel experience of my life - The location is good and the hotel manager is very nice. The hotel is disgustingly dirty. It is honestly the dirtiest hotel I have ever been to. We got there late at night and we could not complain until the next morning, when the manager changed our room. It did not get better. If the first room was full of dirt, the second one was full of bugs and dead mosquitoes in the walls. I was not able to sleep. We left one day earlier because it was unbearable.
The worst thing is that, looking into the most recent reviews, this seems to be a recurring problem. Guests are constantly complaining about the dirt and general cleaning status of the rooms, and the management does not seem to care. When we changed rooms, we specifically requested the manager that he made sure the cleaning personel cleaned under the beds, and he looked at us like we were crazy.
It is really a shame and I am very sorry for writing such a harsh review, but this has honestly been the worst hotel experience I have ever had and made it impossible for me to enjoy Guilin.
- Marcello (8/5): Nice stay, superb host - The room was spacious and confortable.
Tony the host has been very helpful providing us important and clear suggestions about things to do in the city and in the surroundings.
The hotel itself is in a very good position, close to the riverwalk.
- Martina (4/5): Disappointing - The location of the hotel Is quite central
tò the downtown (5-10 Min by walk) The hotel Is very old and uncomfortable; the room was dirty (no service at all during our staying despite what was written on booking web site)in the room, especially in the bed, there were insects, such as cockroaches, and Overall it was very dirty. The staff was Not helpful at all: He told us there were no Tickets anymore For the Cruises, But actually we were able tò find some Tickets in the downtown! The taxy service was also Very expensive.
- Andrei (9/5): very good hotel, with exceptional host ;) - Very good stay in a nice hotel, very close to some of the main sightseeings in Guilin:
some 10 minutes walk to Sun and Moon pagodas, about 20 minutes to Elephant Trunk.
many restaurants around, and small shops.
Nice, quiet room.
But, most of all - very helpful, English-speaking host - Tony! Tony, thanks a lot for your help - with all your advices on how to get to rice terrasses on my own (easy, 3 hours by a local bus), with the Li river cruise and all the rest.
Highly recommended, would stay there again, if I come back to Guilin! maybe coffee packages in the room, to make my own coffee in the morning?
The rest is very fine. :)
- Livia (8/5): Very good - Tony is an incredible host, he really helped us in doing everything we wanted to do in Guilin! The hotel is perfectly located in a quieter area of the city, still very close to all main attractions
- Adrià (3/5): Poor - Location is fine Hotel was not clean, dirty stuff under the bed, dirty floor. We asked for them to clean up a little, they said yes, but was not done.
- John (10/5): Great value and wonderful location. - Loved the location. Walking distance to the lakes and Sun and Moon Pagodas. Loads of breakfast and lunch restaurants and some affordable dinner restaurants. Tony was a wonderful host and fixed us up with a great day cruise down the Li River to Yangshuo. Highly recommended. Not the cleanest. Saw a few roaches, but it was very comfy. It’s not a fancy place, but it was great for our needs.
- Achebe (10/5): I loved the kitty❤️ -
- David (9/5): Super staff - The hotel is well placed, the rooms are comfortable, fully equipped. Tony was very helpful. He helped us to go by our own to visit the rice fields. Everything was perfect and we had a great time visiting the region thanks to him
- Anonymous (8/5): - Location : along a quiet lane with several food outlets nearby. Didn't notice any prominent hotel signage outside the building (which is opposite a hospital) but I could find my way easily as I had researched its location beforehand online. Access to the reception (on level 2) or hotel room is via a small lift lobby which faces the small lane and is next to a row of Guilin Bank ATMs.
Room & Staff : Room is clean and nicely decorated. You either get a room facing the hospital or one that faces aging residential blocks at the back. Neither view offers a a pretty sight so I had the curtains drawn together most of the time!
Reception staff are fairly pleasant though you won't see them much during your stay since you could enter or leave the hotel without having to go pass the reception counter (unless you want to hang around on the reception floor on level 2).
Overall, a good budget option that is close to the city centre (where the lakes and malls are).
- Verified traveler (8/5): - 房间很干净、地点佳、附近很多美食,
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good:
- Can walk for a period of time or take bus to attractions
- Pharmacy, food store, drink store and even a night market near the hotel
- Food options and cuisines are plenty around the hotel, though recommended to walk a bit more to find better quality food, which may even be cheaper
- if you book a local tour and don’t have a local number, the hotel reception can receive the call and pass the message to you
- Topping up e-wallet - Tony (usually on evening & night shift) only has WeChat Pay, the lady (usually on morning shift starting around 7 am) also has AliPay but smaller amounts only, although in Guilin most people use Wechat Pay only
Improvement:
- washing machine, soap powder and area to hang clothes provided on 7th floor, but the machine was dirty and caused a lot of flakes on all my clothes and even ruined 3 of my dark coloured shirts with stains that I still can’t remove
- Viola (4/5): 不會再入住 - 職員態度差, 愛理不理. 木口木面. 四人房無電視, 地點尚算方便. The lady at the reception counter is not helpful.
