I was here for only 4 days on a 16 day trip and left early. Because I was being harassed about signing a paper when they charge me the wrong amount. This hotel is a reason why I would never return to Accra. And when I was leaving they wouldn't give me a ride to the airport even though they state that in there .accommodations.

• Caspar (7/5): Charming Ghanaian hotel, not a typical tourist hotel but that's also reflected in the price. - The staff was super friendly and helpful. That really made it a joyful stay for us. If you are in to a nice Ghanaian atmosphere this is a good place, if you are looking the luxurious tourist expercience there a better (and much more expensive) options. Just go with the flow! The hotel has a nice swimming pool and bar, the rooms were clean. Breakfast was good (somehow different every day, buffet or al la carte) I liked it the hotel is not in a tourist area, although close to Achimoto school and forest. It s easy to get to from the airport and has a gated car park. We had some issues with the rooms. They need an upgrade, especially the bathroom. Waters supply and temperature was pressure was For one room we asked for a change because the shower cabine was leaking badly and wifi was poor. That change worked out. Wifi in the rooms varied, in the lobby and at the pool it worked well. There is a lot under construction in the direct vicinity of the hotel (but it is quiet)

• Gachette (6/5): Overall a mostly pleasant stay. - First I want to acknowledge the patience and kindness of Eric and Fred. I had flight issues that caused me to arrive a day later than my reservation. I called and spoke to Eric first, then Fred. Both gentlemen quickly reassured me that they would honor my hotel reservation despite me not arriving on time. I am very grateful for their courtesy. Pros: - The staff is very nice and attentive. Special shoutout to George who is an amazing bartender, poolside attendant & hype man. - The complimentary breakfast is delicious. - The poolside vibes are very nice. Con: - I booked my room on the booking.com website and was told at check-in that the price reflected was not accurate. This is something that needs to be fixed immediately as it is misleading. - The hotel does not accept $100 US Bills that were printed before a certain year. I can't remember exactly what year, but mine were 2006 and could not be accepted. - There were water pressure issues in our room, particularly at night. - We were unable to be provided with an iron when we asked for it. An establishment this small im size should have them in every room without issue. - Our electronic key to our hotel room kept malfunctioning, so we had to get the physical key to be able to get in and out.
• Augustine (10/5): Exceptional service from the Mendiata Hotel team. - I booked Mendiata Hotel for my sister and her bridesmaids to stay over the night before her wedding. I was told the hotel staff was very friendly and they made their stay very enjoyable. They are also very good with customer service and will answer any inquiries you have when you call before booking.

• Olateju (10/5): Our 5 days stay at the property was wonderful! - Very cool and quiet. Particularly thrilled about the fact that it is a walking distance to Achimota Golf Club. The staff were wonderful. Fred, the Manager and Charles, the Driver were exceptionally great. Too many churches around the property. The Hotel is however properly screened and padded. Once you’re in, you don’t hear the noise outside.
• Michael (7/5): Great place, great hide out and AMAZING staffs. - The staffs were very friendly and accommodating. Made me feel at home There was no warm water when showering, the channels on the tv was disappointing as well.
• Viv (4/5): Overpriced and had to pay for an Uber when promised transport to airport did not arrive - Clean, comfortable. Bed was presented nicely Managed to turn fridge on but it didn’t cool anything. Lack of any sockets to charge phone. Tired furniture. Handles missing. Had to ask for a control to be brought for A/C - which was sellotaped together. Further away from airport than I had realised (half an hour) Items on breakfast menus not available eg: pancakes, croissants when I requested them. One of the main reasons I booked this hotel was the free transport to collect me from the airport and return me in the morning and I had confirmed this twice. Transport was late to pick me up from the airport (particularly noticeable as my flight had arrived half an hour early - although hotel knew my flight number and could have checked this). I didn’t have a Sim card and there was no airport Wi-Fi where I exited the airport so I had to go back inside and ask someone to ring the hotel for me. In the morning when I was already waiting to be picked up to leave at the pre-arranged time, I was then told that there was no transport after all and I would have to get an Uber. The hotel booked an Uber but refused to pay for this. When the manager was phoned he was not apologetic and refused my request that the hotel pay for my transport saying there was no cash to pay me at the hotel, and they couldn’t refund me if I didn’t have a Ghana bank account. When I said they had my credit card payment/details from when I had paid the night before he said, that had already been processed. I then had to leave with the Uber as I was already over 15 mins late departing.
• Samson (10/5): Magnificent - Mendiata Hotel is a very lovely hotel to stay, from the lovely clean environment to their wonderful staffs who are always helpful to make you comfortable throughout your stay. Mr Fred the manager is very friendly, i like their breakfast, it's definitely one of the best i have had. I would definitely come back and also recommend to family and friends. Thanks Nothing really

• Dr. (10/5): Our stay was very peaceful and pleasant. The staff was amazing! - The manager Frederick at the hotel made our stay exceptional. He was so accommodating, helpful and very pleasant. He went out of the way to make sure that our groups rooms remained close together. He ensured that our rooms were to our liking. The patio and pool area was very beautiful. All of our rooms had a personal balcony with stunning views of the pool. The property was also very safe and the security team were great. We felt very safe at the hotel. The restrooms and showers in some rooms need updated.

• Jennifer (7/5): Good - Fred, who coordinates transportation, is very friendly, as were George and Samuel. (Woman at front desk seemed annoyed that there were customers.) AC was pretty good and pool kept clean. Food excellent though slow. Location isn't great. The area is rundown and seems unsafe. Restaurant service was painfully slow--it took nearly 2 hours for my meal (after 1 hour I was informed my choice was not available). Indifferent to unfriendly front desk woman.
• Gabriel (6/5): Poor facilities in rooms (short version) - The restaurant was the best experience of our stay George, the waiter at the restaurant gave me a wonderful service during breakfast each day, and i made sure he knew i appreciated his service. Details 1. The air-conditioning system not functioning as it should. 2. Shower was totally broken. They was dual shower heads in the bathroom. The fixed shower head that is supposed to "rain on you" had a crack on the side, so the water was just coming out thru the cracked area. And the handheld one was missing the shower head holder. 3. The refrigerator was not cooling anything. It was basically room temperature. I was told it was normal when i asked. 4. Lights out on my floor that no one noticed for several hours. This led to our food going bad in the fridge. I had been out the whole day. This led to the manager suggesting a room change. After change of room: 1. The door to the bathroom would not close because somehow, the door frame was smaller than the door itself. So i had to use one of the small towels. Tied it to the door handle and the towel hanger, in order to keep the door closed. Conclusion: Mendiata has the potential of becoming every guest's dream, if issues like what i have mentioned are fixed, and also if rooms are checked thoroughly before arrival of new guests. The rooms are nice and very spacious, and also comfortable in general. Same applies to the outer / pool area. It has the potential,  but pool does not look clean.
• Piotr (8/5): This is a great, affordable option for those wishing to stay at a hotel with a pool on the outskirts of Accra. - The staff is extremely polite, welcoming, and accommodating. They offer personalized excursions in and outside of Accra. The pool is perfect: deep and large enough, and surrounded by trees. The food is overall excellent, especially the local dinner options, though breakfast could use more variety. My room and certain common areas needed some minor improvements, which took away from the general feeling of luxury.

• Stephen (8/5): - Excellent and well maintained hotel. However, I think the lighting in the hallway needs to be better at night. I would like to suggest lights with sensors so when it’s dark they automatically come on. I think the pool should be cleaned daily so guests don’t have to be swimming with bugs. Otherwise I had a great stay. Rooms are beautiful and well kept love the ambiance.

I also requested for extra tea bags and was told I would have to pay for them or wait till the next morning when the room keepers would come round, i found this to be strange but they eventually brought me 2 bags after waiting over 4 hours for them.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Felt like home - We booked three hotels in the Greater Accra area. This one was the first of our stay. We really hated leaving, we were treated very well by everyone on the staff and it felt very much like our home for the week we were there. I would like to especially compliment Sandra (Sandy) our waitress for taking very good care of us. The Wi-Fi was our main complaint, as it was very spotty, disconnecting automatically, and we had difficulty reconnecting at times. The pool area was very relaxing and most of the food we had was delicious and well prepared. The room was very big and comfortable. The area around the hotel was not the best, but we had no trouble walking in the area to a main road to get a taxi. We really enjoyed our stay here. This was a true African experience.
• Manuel (5/5): Very nice staff, nice Hotel but the Toilets need a deep repair. - The Hotel is nice, and the staff is very good & kind. Restaurant was nice and clean, but the Breakfast was too poor. Never saw other Clients having Breakfast in that place. Not too many choices to eat. We did not like the Toilet (WC). The showers were all broken, and it was too difficult to have a good bath. Yes, they had hot water but there was water leaking everywhere as soon as you started your shower. We even asked to change the Room due to broken shower, but when we got to the new Room the shower was even worst and we had to take like 30min or more to try to have a bath in a very difficult way. They need to do a good repair in all those Toilets (WC).

• Verified traveler (4/5): Mendiata - Ideally, there is no privacy at the Hotel, the swimming pool is open to the public and making the surrounding very crowdy. noisy and threat to safety, because such things can attract robbers and bad people. The air-conditioning in the room was not properly working and fridge in the room wasn't working as well. Room services are not reliable as it can take you more than 2 calls on the intercom to be attended to, however, orders takes too long. The price for the rooms are outrageous and not worth it.
