- Susan (10/5): A good time with my kids and grandkids. - We had a great time on the beach, visiting the Lighthouse, at the aquarium, the Hatfield Science Center, on Trails at Big Creek. We ate at 101 Burger and Pig n Pancake, cooked Papa Murphy Pizza in the oven in our room, made mac and cheese for the kids with the pans and utensils available in the rental, had Arctic Circle Halibut and bought groceries in town. So much is very close by. The sunset view from our window and balcony was amazing.

- Jahnae (10/5): I didn’t wanna leave. Neither did the kids. - I love the nostalgia of the place. It reminded me of my childhood. I like that it was a walk to the beach. Some of the stuff being outdated need to be replaced. But other than that, everything was lovely.

The only small thing was the jacuzzi tub , the water knobs are both labeled as hot water and one of them was broke and came off when trying to turn it on and off- no big deal though, everything else was perfect!
- Mary (2/5): Very disappointing birthday trip - Great location. Paid for 2 bedrooms, one king, one queen and fireplace. Got one bedroom with queen and loft with trundle. Planned on traveling with a child so the accommodations we got do not work for that! No privacy with a loft and can't sleep in because big windows had no window coverings. The fireplace didn't work. They said they could not change our room and didn't even offer to work with us. Very disappointed when I paid for something and it didn't even come close. It's not well lit and very hard to find in the dark!

- Lillian (8/5): Convenient location, clean and large accommodation, very pleasant! - Great location just outside of Newport, a super quick drive in. The accommodation was very big and comfortable. After-hours check in was clear. Although after hours check in was easy, we had to call a phone number, and I am travelling from the UK so had to pay international fees. We couldn’t find any info about the wifi + didn’t want to pay to call again.

- Robert (4/5): Not good - 1. There was NO Breakfast. 2. Proximity to the beach/Ocean access was good. 3. The staff did the best they could. Unit 107: 1. The booking was not transparent that the facility is actually a Time Share model. 2. The booking indicated the availability of a pool however the pool was "waiting for state inspection". A Time Share customer indicated that the pool had not been operational since Covid pandemic, and therefore both the listing and the front desk explanation were FALSE and misleading. 3. The shower curtain was so short that the bathroom floor was flooded with normal use. 4. The "time share" model was not transparent as the booking was for a hotel room and accommodations. and therefore there was an unanticipated and inappropriate requirement to haul garbage and use a dishwasher as part of the checkout procedure with a penalty clause of additional charges if these requirements were not met. 5. The facility itself was somewhat outdated and had not been kept up or updated, including normal routine painting and repairs. 6. There was no instruction provided for the operation of the fireplace. 7. The installation of the refrigerator-Freezer was such that the freezer door could not be fully opened and therefore using the ice maker was not possible or practical. 8. Because the booking was through a third part the front desk could not provide any accounting of charges, could not produce a receipt, was not aware of which third party booking agency was used and could not provide any other information about the booking.

- Dennis (3/5): I definitely would not recommend at any price. - The facility is in a good location. When we arrived shortly after check-in time the office was closed. Therefore we had no way to access the apartment. I called the emergency contact number posted on the door to no avail. It took us three hours for us to find a resource that had just enough information to find the apartment and tell us that we would have to find a lock box to retrieve the key card to access our our rental. Although, she did not know where the lockbox is stationed. After scouting out the grounds we did find the lockbox to get the key card. Once in the rental there were no instructions or guide for anything. Including the WiFi. The rental did not have the ocean view as advertised. There was a spa bathtub yet no sufficient plug to stop the water draining making that inoperable. Don’t bring children as the slats in the rails are a foot apart. Children could easily fall through or get stuck between the slats. The space between the slats is not to code. The pool and hot tub weren’t available during our stay. The office staff came and went as they pleased. The office hours were not adhered to every day of our 4 day stay. The only help we received was from a maintenance person who was able to get us the arrival packet that we should have been provided upon arrival. Black mold in the shower is also a concern. The TV’s only had very basic channels and no way to use our own device through the HDMI ports. The inputs on the remote would not change inputs to accommodate a change. This is just a sample of things that hindered us from giving me the opportunity to leave a positive review. I would not stay at this facility again nor would I recommend booking a stay at any price. Do not believe the information listed in the description given in the listing. I find no joy in giving this review and hope it is not redacted and is actually posted in the comments.

It was very relaxing. Took a little bit to figure out the television. Wish that the kitchen had been a little more stocked. Aluminum foil would have been nice. Maybe some zip lock bags. Had a toddler with us.So wish that maybe we had some sort of a cleaner. The nightlight above the stove on the microwave didn't work. Maybe having summer form of nightlight in the hallway upstairs or the bathrooms would have been really nice I didn't want to turn lights on and bother other people. Sadly, the weather was absolutely horrible.But it was very cozy inside and not your fault. What last thing find me the entrance we actually drove by at the sign is not located to be seen very well.

The front staff were very nice and helpful. The windows were not very clean so distracted some from the view of the ocean. I imagine it is hard to keep them updated with the weather but these were pretty dirty. Everything else was clean and well taken care of.

We love it and are already planning witch weekends for next year. Witch we will actually stay again this year during the off season cause we like the Stormy weather. Our rooms are always clean. Staff is very nice and friendly. For us nothing to complain about.

- Karen (10/5): We visited the beach at low tide-be sure to do that and walk to the south end for sea-life viewing. - The staff thought of everything when equipping the room. There were lovely spice packs in the kitchen that made cooking much easier, and everything was spotless and orderly. The trail to the beach and the beach were beautiful - we wanted to stay on property more than we wanted to explore Newport on this first trip there. Not a thing, except maybe a hide-a-bed would have been preferable to an air mattress for the 2nd bed. That said, I would not volunteer to move a hide-a-bed to the 2nd floor units. :)

- Derek (8/5): Fantastic family beach getaway - While the decor was dated, everything was clean, comfortable, and more than adequate for our needs. Mattresses were very comfortable! We cooked in our unit and it had the basics we needed. Also used the on site coin laundry which was great. Beach was a 1/4 mile walk. It is a hill but our toddlers walked it just fine. Staff were always friendly and helpful. The space worked great for our family! Property is quiet and removed which we loved. Our unit didn’t have a great view, but the unit our parents stayed in did. The units are spacious and roomy. Honestly everything was great. Minor details were the blinds in our unit were very fragile and old and could stand to be replaced to function well. The kitchen had no cooking ingredient basics like oil, vinegar, etc. There were tiny spice packets. Not necessarily a huge deal, just know to bring literally every ingredient if you plan on cooking. As others have mentioned the pool is still closed. But that’s just being nit picky, genuinely we really had no complaints and loved our stay.

- Maria (1/5): Resort cancelled my reservation w/out notifying me - The manager of the property apparently cancelled my reservation the day before my check-in date and notified booking.com but neither the property manager nor a booking.com employee informed me of this. I didn’t find out until I tried to check-in but the receptionist had no record of my reservation. Of course my card had already been charged for the entire stay though. Now I have to wait 12 days for my refund even though they charged it 4 days prior to check in.

- Susan (10/5): Exceptional - Cyrus did a fabulous job of presentation of napkins/towels both in the bathroom and kitchen. Everything was super clean. Loved hearing the wind and surf as I slept. Did not like our view of seeing the equipment shed and maintenance stuff all around. That needs some sorting and organizing. All in all, we enjoyed our short stay and hope to come again! We left (stuffed) keys and a staff tip in the key drop that was full. Wondering how often they empty that.
- Boykins (9/5): My overall stay was excellent. - Location was great! Staff was exceptional. Office space was very inviting. The maintenance staff were prompt and professional and were able to restore the functioning of the sofa quickly (there was an extension cord connected to the sofa's power cord that sparked and blew out; by removing the extension cord they were able to plug the sofa directly into the outlet and it worked!) The kitchen area next to the stove was dirty. The space between the stove and counter had food and debris droppings accumulating. There was a broken class in the kitchen cabinet. Fortunately, when my sister reached for it she did not cut her hand. The large piece of glass was left in the dishwasher; I found it when I went to run the dishwasher.

Also liked the kitchen and dining space. We didn't get a room with a view.. but that would have been great

- Misty (7/5): I would definitely stay there again, it was very quiet and off the beaten path. - loved the location of the property. we had an ocean view and of course that was amazing. our dvd player didn't work the first night we were there, but we let the staff know and it was replaced immediately. the kitchen lacked many utensils, the website boasts a pool and hot tub, apparently they have not been in use for 5 years!! one evening we needed some toilet paper, and the office was closed. It was only 530pm and the office was supposed to be open until 8 pm. there was no note or explanation as to why there were no staff
- Fox (7/5): In port at Schooner Landing - Amenities were not as described. Fireplace was out of order. Pool/Spa has been out of order for years. Staff was cordial. Not liking fireplace not working!

- Alaina (5/5): Comfortable, but a little frustrating. - Ocean access, views and it was clean! The deck was delightful. We reserved a room for six people: 2 adults, 4 kids (ages 17,17,14 & 12) and there wasn’t enough sleeping space. Fortunately, my husband did not join us due to work and I slept on the couch. One queen bed and two twins does not sleep 6.
- Henry (8/5): - The location and quaint facilities are great. We didn’t need extra services but the staff was friendly. Unfortunately, we were surprised that the buildings and grounds are quite tired and weathered looking and although the rooms were clean and comfortable the carpet was dirty. Minor issues but worth noting.
- Jennifer (9/5): Our stay was great, we liked it and will definitely be back again this year. - We liked staying here. Wasn't so sure at first after we read the reviews, after we made the reservation lol. We really liked the room when we got to it. We took advantage of the full kitchen. The large jacuzzi tub was also a plus. Tall ceilings and lots of natural light. We watched the sunset over the ocean. Everything worked as it should. We wished we could have stayed longer. The mattress is of the extra extra firm variety. The coffee table needs to be thrown away-or burned lol. The pool and beach access are closed, witch did not say online. We were looking forward to the beach access. It is definitely in need of some styling and paint. Something other then all white.

- Mary (10/5): The best trip this year so far. - They were not serving breakfast at the time but our place was awesome. We had a beach view and the bed was so comfortable. Very quiet and we got to enjoy a lot of time on the beach. The pool was not available at the time we stayed.
- Lindsey (8/5): Very good - The view was great, everything was comfortable, clean and the staff were lovely. There needed to be more in the kitchen like a baking sheet and some pantry essentials like oil or cook spray.
