• Anuj G (7/5): Decent, affordable stay in a great location. - Hong Kong hotels tend to be on the pricier side and most budget rooms are compact boxes. Considering that, this is a really good option. The location is ideal - right in between Mong Kok and Tsim Sha Tsui - in a quiet lane. There are convenience stores, shopping, eateries and laundry within a few mins walk. The metro is a short walk away. Their exterior is currently undergoing renovation but that doesn't disturb the stay. The room and bathroom was adequately sized and clean, with enough plug points and lights. They mention clearly that they don't provide toiletries. So carry a towel, soap, shampoo, etc. Although they did give me disposable towels. The rooms are quickly cleaned once daily. Although there is a kettle, water or coffee is not provided in the room. It available at the 6th floor lobby. Staff is extremely polite and friendly. Some negative reviews made me skeptical - but I took a chance and this worked well for me. Beds are firm. Might work for some people - it didn't work well for me though. The breakfast was unsatisfactory and extremely basic for my taste.

Very clean. Very close (walking distance) to the metro station. It's not in the upscale part of HK but extremely close.

• Sarah (1/5): - Great location, They blocked access to my belongings and passport mere hours before I was due to fly out all for the sake of £30. There are building works going on atm (note they padlock and chain your window shut so you have no escape route if there was a fire in the corridor) and I'm not sure if it contaminated the a/c or it was an old a/c but the a/c made me really sick, my eyes stung and it made me cough, at night lying down this coughing was so violent I would be horrifically sick, I would do my best to clean myself, my clothing and surroundings and I know from experience some places are very tolerant others are not so I'm not angry about the £30 cleaning charges. What I am angry about , and what was immensely dangerous and unsafe is the way in which the venue handled it. They took my number and email when I checked in, both of which they could have contacted me to say please come to reception we need a chat, or they could have left a note in my room, instead they decided just to deactivate my key card, so I couldn't even access the floor I was staying on. I found this out at gone 10pm at night on my return to the Lodge - I had to catch a bus to the airport to fly back to the UK at half 5am (and get some sleep!). What if there was no one at reception when I came back? Or I had stayed out on my last night a little longer? They were willing to risk me walking the streets of Hong Kong, unable to get another hotel as my passport was in my room, and miss my flight back to the UK (which would have cost me hundreds of pounds ) for the sake of £30. For a CHRISTIAN organisation this is possibly one of the most un Christian things I've heard. Again, I stress I don't dispute the charges just the incredibly unsafe, and dangerous it was handled, especially as I was on my own, and no surprises it triggered a panic attack.

• Frankie (8/5): Almost a perfect stay at Salvation Army Booth Lodge. - Very good location, close to MTR Station, bus stops and lots of restaurants around, room and beds were clean and comfortable, staff was always courteous and helpful, however, breakfast can be improved! Dim Sum was in low quality! Airport shuttle was an excellent included service. Driver was very courteous! There was a fire drill around 3:30PM on April 14, 2026. Although a notice was posted in a bulletin board in front of elevator, it wasn't noticeable when you didn't pay much attention to the details. I was taking an afternoon nap during the time when the alarm sounded off and red light flashing. A few other tenants were unprepared and unaware of the fire alarm sounded off on the 11th floor. We all stood in front of elevator and wondering of what to do. Someone tried to open the emergency exit to the stairs but couldn't open the door. Finally after around 5 minutes, a lady hotel staff showed up from an elevator and informed us that it was a fire drill. Suggestions: post fire drill notice inside elevator with big fonts (more noticeable). Hotel is in need of a PA system when fire drill alarm sounds off, so that all tenants would know what's going on and wouldn't be in panic situation. I am a frequent customer of your hotel, I hope the situation can be improved! Additionally, I requested a luggage rack when doing the hotel booking, but was told that no luggage racks were available when checking in. Hotel was able to fulfill my requests of two extra pillows and extra chair.

• Saransh (9/5): - We found out 24 hours prior to checkout that our flight is delayed, but we weren't allowed to change our pickup time for the complementary ride to the airport, even though it was more than 36 hours in advance to the scheduled pickup time. Also, we could only leave our bags at the reception until 11PM. We would definitely stay here again, everything else was perfect, and the staff were very friendly. But the slight change in pickup time due to a flight delay should have been reasonable to accommodate, especially with 36 hours to go.
