Guest Reviews
- Andrew (10/5): - Very reasonably priced and rooms are nice and clean
- Aloka (10/5): - - Even if the hotel is on main street, it was quite
- Helpful and friendly staff
- Restaurants were close by
- Breakfast was really good, Thai dessert were yum!
- Neil (10/5): - It is a small hotel but not that old so even though the rooms a small they are clean and comfortable
Also the bath tub was very big big enough for x2 of us
- Cheryl (10/5): - Nice clean rooms. Friendly staff.
- Harpreet Singh (10/5): - Great hotel, location and staff
- Cameron (8/5): - Room was cleaned everyday, staff were lovely and great location. The pool was ace to cool down in
- Harpreet (10/5): - Great hotel, location and staff
- Kerrie (10/5): - We absolutely loved staying at Casa Vimaya the location was amazing, so easy to get around walking or grabbing a Grab (taxi very cheap through the app). We had easy access to all our tours from the very centrally located hotel. The rooms were beautiful, great bathroom facilities, great shower. The staff were amazing and went out of their way to make sure our first stay in Bangkok was enjoyable and safe. I will definitely stay here again in the future, see you soon 😊
- Scott (10/5): - Nice small hotel in the Banglamphu area.
- Annabell (6/5): - Unique to this property is its closeness to the river. The dining hall offered a great view of it and its inhabitants. Breakfast included a mixture of Western and Asian options. The property was clean and welcoming. However, the bed was not as comfortable with a mattress that was too firm and made for sleepless nights.
- joshw826 (10/5): Great place near Koh San Road. - My family and I really liked this place. Initially we were a little worried as it was so close to Kho San Road. But that actually made it way more interesting. Lots of neat stuff to see around the area. We felt very safe the whole time. The pool was nice, the rooms are nice, the staff was great. The breakfasts are really good. Facilities are clean and well cared for. There’s a 711 directly across the street. There are also a number of restaurants across the street, Ramen, Thai food of course. Multiple street stalls one or two streets over. We can get whatever we needed within a five minute walk.
- Brennon (10/5): - Close to night life. Quiet getaway in the heart of town.
- Rex (8/5): - Great pool+ Breakfast
- David (10/5): Calm oasis on Phra Sumen Rd. - This is a lovely hotel with many beautiful details (old photographs and prints), tasteful decor touches. Probably the nicest hotel in this area. The staff are also very helpful. Nice breakfast selection. The rooftop pool is a bit small, but the views are great.
- Christopher (10/5): - Nice hotel with a roof top bar and pool, helful and pleasant staff. We chose this hotel as it was with walking distance of Khao San Road (but not too close!) which is well worth a visit, along with another very quaint road that runs parallel to it that has a few very nice restaurants. Offers breakfast and the dining room is alongside one of the small canals.
- Trevor (10/5): - Staff were very welcoming and helpful. We used this as a base so didn't spend a lot of time using the facilities. Walkable distance to Khao San Road and surrounding area.
- Sally (8/5): - Loved the location. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were a number of restaurants and cafes close by and everything is accessible. They also supply a breakfast which I did not take up as I usually only have coffee.
- Nicholas (8/5): - Clean and quiet rooms, spacious bathroom.
Pool is a bit small and could do with some better shade but its still nice.
- Dawn (6/5): - Good location, air con could have be cooler. And the front Door closers with less noise. Because when people’s go in and out you can hear lots of doors slamming.
- David (10/5): - A lovely boutique hotel in a very busy and quite touristed area. Probably the nicest option in the neighborhood. The pool is a bit small but the views from deck are great. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
- Beverley (10/5): - Loved this hotel, near to all the busy areas. Pool was lovely on the roof breakfast alongside the river was good
- Kelly (10/5): - always NICE!
- Adam (10/5): Great location, clean, modern - Great location short walk to main streets in Bangkok
Close to main river to get a hop on boat tour
Lovely rooms, and cocktails and happy hour
- Natalie (10/5): - Amazing stay loved hotel and proximity of it.
- Danny (10/5): Charming Hotel in the middle of it all. - Took a trip to Bangkok for their Songkran festival. Wanted to be close to the action while still being away from it. This hotel satisfied that need. Blocks away from Thanon Ram Buttri and all of its delicious restaurants, food carts and bars. Also within walking distance of multiple temples. Super affordable, friendly staff, clean throughout, great breakfast buffet and an amazing rooftop pool and bar. Will be booking here again for next years return trip.
- Belen (10/5): - The staff at Casa Vimaya is wonderful. They were kind, helpful, and welcoming. Casa Vimaya is walking distance to nearby street food, Khao San Road bars, and cafes.
- Romaine (8/5): - Nice hotel. Great breakfast.
- Andrew (6/5): - The property is in a magic location but a few things really let the place down.
Beds were rock hard, staff were attentive when needed but were on their phones most of the time. Food was average and it seemed most guests ate offsite.
There was also an obvious sewerage smell in the bathroom/toilet, the bathroom was clean so I’m guessing it was something to do with the drains/pipes.
It’s a real shame because this property could be so much more with some attention to these things.
In saying this we did enjoy our holiday here but we are not sure if we would stay here again.
- Dominique (10/5): - Spent one night there after the earthquake on 28th March 25. Staff were wonderful as I was feeling pretty shaken by the whole experience.
The place is lovely and clean and it had sustained no damage from the earthquake (whereas my condo was totally destroyed). Very grateful to have found this place and felt safe after such an ordeal.
I don’t know much about the area as I live in a different part is town but the hotel itself is lovely.
Highly recommend!!
- Jim (8/5): - Fantastic Breakfasts & great view & ambience
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Amazing hotel central to attractions as well as amazing service! Our flight landed early in the morning and we came to drop off our bags and they already had our room ready for us! I would recommend this hotel to anyone!
- Stephen (10/5): - An incredible hotel. Excellent staff.
- Shannon (8/5): - This property was in a great location once you got there from the airport. We arrived early and were able to get into our room which was so appreciated. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. Prices for mini bar and pool bar were very good. The only complaint would be how few chairs are at the pool. After a long day out a swim and some time at the pool was great but the seats were always taken. Small issue for an otherwise great stay. Thank you!
- Janet (8/5): - The property was conveniently located. Most attractions within a 30 minute walk and lots of restaurants nearby.
There is no food available at the hotel other than a buffet breakfast that is expensive.
The "river" is really a canal.
There was a loud strange noise in the middle of the night and again early morning coming from the floor above us where the pool is. Sounded like the pool was being drained or cleaned. Only happened 1 night but prevented me from sleeping soundly.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was efficient although a little small. The balcony was really just sliding doors onto a ledge with a railing. Could stand but not sit.
Overall, I would reccommend tjus hotel for it's location, price and staff, but wanted you to also be aware of some of the negatives.
- Andrew (10/5): - On the tail end of our Thailand trip we wanted a place to stay in Bangkok that was quiet but somewhat close to things to walk to if we decided we wanted to.
- Barry (10/5): Clean and comfortable - We only stayed one night but found this hotel lovely, its well located for local restaurants, Khoasan Road, Palace etc.
Staff very friendly, breakfast ample, smallish pool.
- Henderson (10/5): - We were very happy with our 6 night stay at Casa Vimaya. The staff was wonderful, the room was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed starting each day with their delicious breakfast buffet.
- Margaret (10/5): - Great location and beautiful, clean room!
- Stephen (8/5): Great hotel for 2 people but not for 3 - Very good hotel in a perfect section of the city for tourist. Our BIG complaint was only about the 3rd person had a $60 per night up charge which would be acceptable except for the $60 you get a roll away cement salad from a bed. Without question the hardest 2 nights sleep and being no
Matter how we trued modifying the hardness the bed was simply awful. Wonderful staff at what could have been a much better score had the roll away bed simply just been hard and not like sleeping on the sidewalk.
- Marie (10/5): - Parfait hôtel pour un séjour à Bangkok. Le personnel est très aimable et les lieux sont propres. Idéalement situé pour visiter à la marche ou pour utiliser les transports en bateau sur la rivière et les canaux.
- mikeandalbert (10/5): Good location, nice clean room - Lovely hotel and attentive staff. The location is great for the likes of the Grand Palace and the Chao Phraya. The room overlooked the canal and you could watch the huge fish coming up for scraps. Breakfast was served overlooking the canal and was a typical fare of both Eastern and Western influence.
- Paul (10/5): - Beautiful room, clean, excellent breakfast.
- Dagmar (10/5): - We had a great stay. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was very good. I would stay again.
- Kim (8/5): - Great for a one night stay in the city
- Jörg (8/5): - It was as expected. Service on reception was ok. Streetfood around always possible. Tok-tok driving often too expensive. Difficult to find payable good and perfect restaurants.
Maybe wrong part of the city.
- Deanna (10/5): - The hotel was clean and the staff were wonderful. Can’t really speak about the area as I don’t know Bangkok. It was dirty and noisy but it seemed like most of Bangkok was like that
- Jacob (8/5): - High-class hotel, excellent location for the Khaosan Road area
- 245jonathonh (10/5): Great Hotel, Great Location - Visited 23/12/24 to 28/12/24
This is my 5th visit to this hotel and I love it. It’s clean, well maintained and in a brilliant location, close to the vibrance of Bangkok but far enough away from the night life to relax. The staff are really friendly and the pool is also really nice
- Evelyn (2/5): - Unfortunately I woke up with a bed bug or tick, not sure, attached to my leg with a bite. Disappointing considering the price for Bangkok, it wasn't a cheap option by any means. Service was great, room was nice, location was good, but can't recommend for the reason stated. I plan on trying to get a refund.
- Rod (8/5): - Close to all the good shopping areas and temples. The airconditioner stopped working in our first room we had.
- Debra (8/5): - Great base to explore all sights in Bangkok. Staff very friendly & helpful. Good value for money.
- Jonathan (10/5): Great location for Bangkok visit - Very comfortable room and staff were exceptional
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful stay in great location - Super friendly staff and service, lovely breakfast buffet in a beautiful location, comfortable and spacious rooms. Great location to walk to sights, Khaosan Road and the river to catch the boat.
Und unlike most hotels in Thailand, they had a water refill station so you didn't have to buy bottles/produce so much rubbish.
- Bailey (10/5): - I only had one night in Bangkok but this property was a great pick! Very close walk or ride to the reclining Buddha and palace, the property also has a very relaxing patio out back with seats overlooking the river. The staff was wonderful, room clean and very well decorated.
- Lindawati (10/5): - We loved our stay here. Staff were excellent. Breakfast was always delicious. The hotel is clean, quiet and close to Khao San market and plenty of food outlets. The big shopping malls were a cheap Grab away.
- tsz hin (6/5): - Convenience
- Grant (10/5): - Wonderful accommodations. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast was fantastic and the pool was very scenic. The room was clean and comfortable. Would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Bangkok. The location was convenient as well.
- douglas (10/5): - Excellent spot close to everything great walkable place
- Mark (10/5): Great base in Bangkok - Great base to use in Bangkok.
- Mark (10/5): Great base in Bangkok - Great base in Bangkok. Simple but comfortable, clean and great service.
- Andrew (10/5): - Lovely boutique style hotel by one of the larger canals. Clean fresh and modern but with a nice Thai traditional style as well. Breakfast was great overlooking the canal and the giant catfish and 2-3m long monitor lizards swimming there.
- Mia (8/5): - Front desk staff were lovely and efficient. Pool area was nice to hang out at.
- Lori (4/5): - too noisy to sleep and staff were not accommodating for the issues - smoking at pool prevented ability to enjoy the area since filled with smoke
- Carlos (10/5): Nice hotel. - The hotel was nice and clean. Modern amenities and near to all the tourist attractions. Hotel is located near the old downtown, close to the tourist sites, but not as nice an area as the more modern Bangkok neighborhoods. Still, the area is very safe. Staff very friendly, especially Ms. Bento who was awesome.
- Bruno (10/5): - All good.
- Venture589072 (10/5): Great stay! - We absolutely loved this hotel.
It was in a perfect location, close to Khao san road but can’t hear the noise and loads of nice restaurants and bars near by.
Lots of attractions close by, easy to get a text to them. Across the road from a 7/11 which is handy.
The room was clean and we had a lovely swan towel display on the bed. The room was a good size with a small balcony which is good for people who smoke.
The staff were so friendly and it was lovely to get a welcome drink after a long flight.
We had cocktails upstairs at the pool bar which were 2 4 1 during happy hour.
We will definitely stay here again in the future. Thank you for a lovely stay!
- Faisal (10/5): - Great value!
- Sameer (8/5): - Liked the location and the dining options around the hotel.
- ALEXANDER (10/5): - Nice location and Excellent Hotel!
- wygodadorota (8/5): Nice hotel in Bangkok - Nice hotel in the middle of old Bangkok , very close to many attractions. Rooms small but beautiful, clean , comfortable..We just stay for one night , so I can’t say a lot . Staff extremely friendly, like all people in Thailand though. Just one issue, didn’t like breakfast . Lack of options , but this is my opinion. For that price , you probably can get something better in the city .
- V1646LWannikab (6/5): Perfect hotel in many ways, but pool water awful - First the good parts:
Beautiful, clean and nice room. View to small river with fish jumping and monitor lizzards swimming now and then
The staff was nice and welcoming
The breakfast was okay with a good selection western and asian
But the big dissapointment was the pool. The water was ”bubbly” and pool edges slimy, felt like the pool chemicals were wrongly dosed or something. We booked this hotel because the pool was important to us, we like to swim, many times a day. We swam once, for a few minutes and then to shower, felt slimy.
We spent here only one and a half night.
- Gjeff_global (10/5): Perfect in every way! - We stayed for 4 days in early September 2024. Absolutely fantastic experience, we did not encounter any of the negatives that some others have mentioned. The pictures on the website and booking are accurate, it was exactly what we had thought it was.
Location: PERFECT, 5 min from Khaoson road and all of the craziness, but at least 4 minutes removed from all of the night noise. Perfectly safe neighborhood, I went running on the street every morning and we walked the streets up until late night. Food and drink all around, 7-11 directly across the street for bottled water, alcohol, sun screen, coffee etc…
Riverside: Scenic muddy river with catfish and monitor lizards (little alligator looking guys)
Room (King River view): Clean and spacious, nice shower and separate bath, very comfortable bed. Nespresso machine (4 pods) and two free waters every day.
WiFi: No problem doing all of the work we needed to do, including video meetings. We connected 4 devices with no noticeable lag and works throughout the hotel including at the rooftop pool and bar.
Breakfast: Delicious mix of Thai, asian and western foods, I discovered that I loved Thai green curry at breakfast and when I tried it on the street a block away it tasted the exact same with a little extra spice. (Someone did mention in their comments that breakfast was cold, I would say more like lukewarm, that is common to me for a buffet and was not an issue, but if you like piping hot buffet you may be left a little wanting).
Pool and pool bar: There is something magical about going out all day and evening in hot humid Bangkok and coming home to a rooftop pool and bar that is cool and refreshing with a great breeze. You can hear the hum of the city below, but you are nicely ensconced in your little tourist paradise. The pool was never crowded when we were there. Drinks were more expensive than the street, but our tab for 3 nights was equivalent to $35. I can handle that.
Other guests: Funny mix of us middle aged professionals, and older retired couples vacationing, to 20 year old backpackers and everything in between. Everyone was cordial and friendly. (**Just an opinion, leave your petulant teenagers at home, don’t torture the poor dears with a vacation in Thailand. ;-)
Overall, I wouldn’t have left this long and personal of a review if I hadn’t been incredibly impressed with everything at the hotel. With so many low cost options in the area, I agonized over the picking a location and couldn’t be happier with how it came out.
Bangkok tips: Download the Bolt app and link your credit card to it for rides, you’ll save a bunch of money. Grab works as well, bolt is a little cheaper. Tipping 10 or 20 Baht is much appreciated, but not required. I kept a pocket full of 10 baht coins and 20 baht notes for tips when we were brought drinks and food and it kept us on the good side of bar and restaurant staff. Official taxi from the airport costs 600 baht, go downstairs to the official taxi stand and get a ticket. The ride back booked on bolt will probably only cost you 300 baht. Traffic is insane! If you need to be somewhere, give yourself plenty of time to get there. Try adding 15 minutes to the time that Bolt and grab cost you.
- Navigator17386339746 (6/5): Lovely rooms and staff - Great location especially for travellers - The staff are absolutely lovely at this hotel and you really can’t fault the service, always a friendly face to greet you! The rooms are spacious, very clean and tidy and the bathrooms are nice! The reason for a 3/5 is due to two things, number one - my partner and I both went green after swimming in the pool🤣 we both used the shower before hand so we don’t think it was a reaction to sun cream but who knows🤣 and two the balcony’s are a bit rubbish, they are literally a platform barely room for two people stood up with hot generators at both sides making it imposible to be stood there for more than 5 minutes - but if you’re not bothered about a balcony then it really wasn’t that much of an issue!
Breakfast was nice but does only until 10 so if you’re a late riser you will miss it!🥲
Still recommend but just be aware of the above 😁
- Lauren (10/5): - Beautiful hotel with a stunning location for breakfast. Also conveniently situated for popular sites in Bangkok. The staff were lovely, it was perfectly clean and I can’t recommend enough.
- Ramyn (4/5): - It was just ok. Don’t want to stay there again
- Hannah (10/5): - This was one of our favorite places to stay in Thailand! The room was very comfortable and the little balcony overlooking the canal was perfect to watch the fish and monitor lizards. The breakfast was the best we have had! The area was ideal for accessing different parts of the city. We walked and also took grabs. The rooftop pool was also our favorite pool in Thailand. It had a good view, was a large size for swimming and was not crowded. We will definitely be back!
- Duong (10/5): - Very clean and cozy hotel, good location.
- yariv (10/5): - Ok hotel
- Matthew (10/5): - Nice place in chiang mai. Nice bed, good bathtub. It was a welcome stay after completling the Mae Hong Son loop to be able to relax here and be able to walk into the old city. The staff is also all great. Very helpful and nice and respectful. They walked me to a place to get a proper thai massage which was a great value add to my day.
- yariv (10/5): - Excellent hotel I definitely recommend it
- Valerie (10/5): I recommend - Excellent stay at Casa Vimaya, near of everything by walk. We stayed longer than expected and the service was awesome
- eleanorf836 (8/5): Really good hotel, great location & perfect for families with teenagers. Lovely breakfast buffet and superb staff - A lovely small hotel with very friendly staff. Nice breakfast room with river view. Clean, very comfortable bed and good shower! We had 2 rooms next to each other & no issues throughout our stay. Good location for city sites and choice was immense at the breakfast buffet!
- Anusha (10/5): - Lovely hotel, very clean, helpful staff. Closeby to khaosan road. Great breakfast options with a view.
- Giovanna (10/5): - Conveniente location at an affordable price!
- Kirsten (10/5): - Comfortable room and friendly staff!
- Benjamin (8/5): - Cool staff 🇹🇭🥸☝!
- Stacey (10/5): - Loved my stay at Casa Vimaya! The room was updated & spotless. Lovely rooftop pool. The location is perfect! Walking distance to Khao San & the ferry. Would highly recommend & would stay again.
- Lauren (6/5): Clean and basic - The hotel was clean and it has what you need for a few days.
- Henry (8/5): - Difficult to review, not 5 stars but would be very happy to stay again. My wife and daughter were on holiday, I was at an exhibition at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, 40 to 80 Bht taxi to the metro and 30 minute ride for 39 Bht (£2 each way, all airconditioned.)
One issue was our daughter had two noisy neighbours at 2am and the staff could not silence them, but they did arrange a move.
- PAUL (6/5): - Much too expensive for the tiny size of the room and location
- Charlene (10/5): - Very nice hotel for the price. Rooms a bit small and pool had no shade but otherwise everything s was excellent. Close to Khoasan Rd and pier for ferries.
- Iulia (10/5): - This hotel was very clean with up-to-date amenities. The buffet breakfast was very convenient and had a variety of food options. It was walking distance to many shops, and easy to catch a taxi if needed. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.
- Jakub (10/5): - Very nice place, unpretentious, to stay in vivid part of Bangkok.
The room was overly clean and quiet, the staff very helpful and kind.
I took an option with the breakfast and it was a great choice.
I can recommend!
- Richard (8/5): - Nous connaissons déjà cet hôtel
- Khaoula (10/5): - Amazing stay
Amazing staff
Super comfortable and extremely well located
- MARTIN (8/5): - Staffs were friendly and helpful .
- Joanne (8/5): - The staff were super friendly and accommodating. Helped us at every turn. Breakfast great, location close to heaps of restaurants, bars, and every form of street food you could imagine. Local transport options available. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
- Nicola (10/5): - Great property close enough to Khao San road to enjoy without being loud or dirty. Very safe and great rooftop pool.
- traceyg682017 (8/5): Close to everything - Wonderful little boutique hotel on Khlong Lamphong. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The staff here are so welcoming, super helpful and polite. Nothing was too much trouble. The location here is excellent, close to Khao San Road, Soi Samsen and you can walk to the Grand Palace. Phra Arthit Pier is also just a short walk down the street. The only downfall here is no restaurant for dinner but there is a great Thai place just next door and the food is superb. Many restaurants around the area as well. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking at this area in Bangkok, good value for money.
- Neyla (10/5): - It’s a really nice little hotel, super clean, comfortable beds, amazing staff, delicious breakfast.
Nice pool on the roof to cool down after a busy day,
Totally worth the money.
