- Sarah (10/5): Super stay, great location, will come again - The staff were super friendly, the food delicious and the room was clean and comfortable and the location was very pretty. Nothing
- Barbara (10/5): Really lovely place to stay with amazing food and welcoming staff - Very comfortable rooms and excellent restaurant.
Lovely outdoor spaces too Slight noise from people moving about upstairs but not too distracting

It is comfortable and cosy, with all the amenities you need in your room. The setting is picturesque and it’s just so peaceful. The hotel is beautiful and cater for all your needs.

- Matthew (10/5): A relaxing and memorable stay with exceptional food and warm hospitality. - We had a wonderful stay. The room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. The staff were genuinely warm and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Breakfast featured delicious locally sourced produce, and dinner was exceptional. Every detail was carefully considered, creating a truly 5-star experience. n/a
- David (10/5): Brilliant relaxing short break - Beautifully appointed rooms set in three or four former farm building all finished to an excellent standard. All of the staff were better than brilliant with nothing too much trouble. The breakfast choice was amazing and being actually served at your table was refreshing from the buffet style that seems the norm in some similar priced hotels. We had the evening meal once in our two night stay and regretted not having it on our second night. We will be returning. Nothing
- Bethan (6/5): Pleasant stay but the room could have been better - The breakfast was amazing and the staff were all lovely We booked a superior double room but it was far from superior. Room 3 was nothing more than a standard unfortunately
- Andrew (10/5): Fantastic hotel with superb restaurant - Beautiful rooms, restaurant & grounds/garden
Very comfortable bed & great shower
Wonderful attention to detail throughout
Great service, friendly and knowledgeable staff
Peaceful and elegant
But most of all the food is amazing, worthy of 2 Michelin stars
- Linda (6/5): Mixed feelings - based on above would not stay again. - The staff and quality of food. It should be made clear that room 7 is based in the carpark - the only room situated as such. The breakfast room is situated in the front of the hotel close to kitchen for convenience and is dark on a beautiful sunny day. We felt rushed.

- Patricia (10/5): Luxury accommodation and gourmet food...what's not to love. - This hotel is a gem. Set in beautiful gardens, there is so much attention to detail and despite being an old building there is every modern facility. The staff are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble, and the service is efficient and discreet. We stayed in a gorgeous room in the eaves with a freestanding bathtub and separate shower and seating area. There were lovely toiletries , bathrobes and plenty of towels.
Our friends had their little dog with them so we had our meals in the conservatory, which was a good compromise. The breakfast menu is amazing, bring an appetite. Dinner was fantastic, not rushed and each and every single dish prepared with love and attention.
Absolutely recommend this hotel. Nothing.

- Antony (9/5): - The property is butifull in every way. Breakfast was amazing, and your eggs were lovely. Thank you for catering to my gluten-free wife, and it made a lovely change for a hotel to be really dog friendly. Pillows pillows pillows, very flat and uncomfortable 🙃

- brown (10/5): Beautiful rooms and delicious food, highly recommend - The attention to detail at this hotel was incredible and the staff were really wonderful. We booked in for dinner in the restaurant which was super delicious and a lovely evening.
The room was spacious and beautiful with beams and stone wall. The gardens are lovely too and there are chicken and ducks to go say hi to.
The location was also great for exploring the local area. We visited Clearwell Caves, Beechenhurst sculpture trail and also drove to Symonds Yat all close by. Nothing we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend highly

We could not have stayed in better comfort, with a wonderful room, clean and very well put together.
We had our lunch, dinner and breakfast with you, we couldn’t get over how exceptional it all was! Absolutely delicious.
We had woods walks, visited the animals which are literally on your doorstep.
The grounds and surrounds so very pretty.
Staff were amazing, friendly and very helpful.
We will one hundred per sent be returning.
Thank you all for the best experience 🥰

This is my second visit and I would go back every time now.
Fantastic food and super comfortable facilities Absolutely nothing!
- Ashley (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful inside and out, great food, lovely staff.
Everything thoughtfully done. Might hear a little bit of noise early in the morning from other hotel users leaving their rooms and walking outside on the gravel. Also hotel staff arriving for work and a gate banging. Not a big issue, in any hotel setting you're going to hear a little bit of movement and noise.
- Richard (10/5): Simply perfect - Amazing place. Deffo 4 Star accommodation and dining. Staff were all exemplary and the location superb. Small village with a couple of other pubs and a castle. What’s not to like 🙂
- Penny (10/5): Lovely comfortable hotel in a delightful village . - Lovely old building , rooms very comfortable, delicious food and wonderful friendly staff. An excellent base for exploring the Forest of Dean. We loved everything about the property
- Jaffar (10/5): It was a very good experience overall best from every hotel we stayed the food and the room everything was excellent - Everything was excellent Nothing at all
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional - Everything!
- Celine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anne (8/5): Lovely - Everything else :) The very hot room, couldn’t open windows apart from a skylight really high up. Only a hook to open it and so tricky. Same with the black out blind, impossible to close properly and either cold air falling or stifling heat.
- Nacira (4/5): Cozy no - Cozy rooms
The breakfasts are very nice The evening restaurant food is very small and overpriced
End up charging us extra by “ accident “ to refund us couple days after
