Guest Reviews
- Stephen (8/5): Wish the Regal had, had a Room - I didn't get the Email till after.
They we're FULL but, helpfull in advising me to try the Onley Inn as they usually have vacancies
NO WONDER !
Lobby Restroom WC pan had a Urine crust around it !
Thankfully the room wasn't as bad
- Markice (10/5): - I like it there
- Yvonne (2/5): - It was rundown and crawling with cockroaches on bed mini fridge dresser nightstand. I went to pull covers back and found a cockroach on bed went and got manager but he didn't seemed to be too upset changed my room but if course found more . He refunded my money and I found another motel about an hour away as everything was booked solid because of it being pony penning week in Chincoteague,Va.
- Rick (2/5): - Roaches! Blood drippings on sheets (had to purchase our own sheets). Asked for non-smoking room - received smoking room. Place was filthy. Place advertised HBO and other channels, only got basic tv. Staff acted as if they didn’t care. Left after one night (we had a 3 night reservation). Very surprised that Expedia advertised this dump. NEVER again.
- Shelby (2/5): - The place was disgusting
- WILLIAM (4/5): - The price was fair in that it was inexpensive - however: (1) the motel has no ice machine - thats on you; (2) the motel does NOT provide any soap (none!); and (3) in the 1st hour in the room I swatted many flies and there were dead ones in the room corners that hadnt been cleaned up before check-in. AC and hot water were both great. But as I said, the price was low, but not a giant bargain.
- jack (6/5): - The front office is not always staffed during the day. There was no soap, no ice machine and I saw a couple of roaches.
- Antron (8/5): - Good
- Leeann (2/5): - The hotel was available to check-in at any hour of the night and we arrived around 10pm.
The room was musty smelly and the bed had stained sheets and a comforter that smelled like it had never been washed.
We went across the road to Walmart and bought towels and toiletries as hand soap was not provided. We also bought air freshener for the room; which did little to help the smell; towels and wash clothes as the ones provided seemed as unwashed as the bedding. We bought a quilt and slept on that over the bed. There was also a live roach found in the bathroom. They took payment in full when we arrived as opposed to when you check out.
The pictures on the booking site did not match the room cleanliness or interior (perhaps it was a room in the hotel at one point when it was under a different name but definitely not the room we stayed in). Our room key card had to be reset the first day when we returned to the room.
Needless to say we will never stay at this establishment again.
- Robert (2/5): - Unkempt room. Dirty walls and flooring. Needs reno.
- Nina (10/5): - Check in was a breeze and the receptionist was very friendly. The hotel itself is not new but the room was very clean with updated furniture and floors. It is obvious the owners take care of it. I was only there for one night with an early morning appointment so can't say much about the surrounding area other than it was convenient to my appointment.
- Diamond (2/5): - I never want because it wasn't me who did the i need my money back ASAP
- Andrew (2/5): - THEIR WATER DIDN'T WORK!!!
- Markice (10/5): - Nice
- Yolanda (4/5): Unpleasant stay - Overall the room was ok but the bed was very uncomfortable and the room was clean as well, but I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone unless this is very last choice and you don't have any other place to go or stay.
- Triniqua (2/5): - Room wasn’t clean at all
- Zhonggui (8/5): - Excellent staff and services
- Clinton (10/5): - The staff was great friendly and nice the price was good room was nice and clean
- LYUDMILA (2/5): - Bedbugs in the bed. Not staying , just left. Dirty premises, floors black colour from dirt.
Do not stay in this hotel.
- Clinton (10/5): - They had cameras for safety good prices and the staff was very friendly
- Vivian (8/5): Regal Inn. Great stay for the money - Regal. Inn is a small hotel but comfortable and clean
Great prices for a nice stay.staff is very friendly
- Laura (4/5): - Similar experience as everyone else. The room smelled like old cigarettes. There were cigarette burn holes in the blankets and the bathtub. The ice maker wasn't working. The wi-fi would only work if i stood outside. 3 bugs crawling inside our room. Scared to touch the walls. Just what you would expect for a very cheap reservation.
- Luke (2/5): - The first thing we noticed when entering our room was a putrid stench with tobacco undertones in our allegedly non-smoking booking. Despite the limited lighting, we were still able to see the layer of dust covering the floor and every other surface. We booked a room for two but were shocked to be greeted by 5 other roommates: the flies and roaches. The bathroom, unsurprisingly, was not exempt from issues. Firstly, the toilet bowl reeked of sewage, but more concerningly, there seemed to be a 2-for-1 shower deal--when the upstairs guests took a shower, the bathroom ceiling leaked enough to bathe a medium-sized dog. It should also be mentioned that the fridge looked like it had never been cleaned. On the other hand, if you're looking for a retreat where you can unplug from modern luxuries, you're in luck! The TV didn't work, and the Wifi resembled speeds of dial-up Internet straight from 2001-- a blast from the past! Overall, this is the worst accomodation experience we've ever had.
- Frank (2/5): - Filthy. Looks like it should be condemned
- Dorothy (2/5): - It needs to be updated and cleaned. Mattresses dirty, hallways dirty, bathroom dirty, refrigerator dirty.
- Clinton (10/5): - It was nice and clean nice comfortable bed
- Lewis (4/5): - king beds only. no clothes hangers or tissues. was charged for dog.
- Lewis (8/5): - no. close hangers ,tissues.
- Kenneth (8/5): No surprises - This is a very inexpensive hotel about 100 feet from US 13. I thought the traffic noise would make it difficult to sleep, but surprisingly, it was rather quiet after about 10:30 p.m. The bathroom was a little dirty and the room showed some wear. However, I was not expecting a luxurious, spotless room based on the rate I paid.
- Matthew (2/5): - damaged doors, shower not working properly, poorly maintained and might be a single star (not 3 stars as stated).
- Vivian (10/5): Small but great - I’ve stayed hear numerous times and have always had a pleasant experience. The rooms are clean the service is friendly. Great little place at a great price.
- Dale D (6/5): - It was centrally located for my purposes.
- Carlos J (6/5): I don’t recommend this Hotel. - No good, its needs to update the rooms. The A/C was horrible y noisy.
- Clinton (10/5): - I love the cleaniness of the outside of the property and also the room was clean and very neat l loved it
- Sherry (2/5): - The property had a new owner who was very nice, but he could not fine my reservation so had to pay again and it was almost 80.00. The room was not clean feet turned black, mattress was dirty, praying I didn't get bed bugs. Noise was bad and watched a couple drug deal go down. Place is in dire need of a remodel. Pot holds in parking lot and the sign was about to fall down. How do I get the reservation off my credit card? not an enjoyable stay.
- Clinton (6/5): - The sheets was dirty looking and also the pillow cases was dirty looking also but the room was clean though
- Sara (4/5): - There was a bug sticky strip hanging from the ceiling. Overwhelming smell of cigarettes. Bugs in the room. I was too tired to keep driving or I never would have stayed. Disgusting and do not recommend.
- Jeff (2/5): - Rooms would be ok, but they were infested with cockroaches
- James (2/5): - There was nothing that I liked. There was mold around the baseboards dirt and food stains on the walls. The parking lot was a disgrace. Broken windows that were taped up. The sink was cracked. I wouldn’t stay here again if someone paid me a million dollars. It was disgusting.
- George (2/5): - Disgustingly nasty. Boarded up window in room in front of building. The building itself was dirty. The Windows and door to register was filthy. We didn’t even go in and when we went to the motel down the street one of the customers told me that the Regal Inn had roaches and bed bugs.
- Dwayne (8/5): - Iit was just an emergency lay over
- john (6/5): - so, so but the price was good for the weekend crush
- Vivian (10/5): Comfortable and affordable - This was my second stay here. Friendly service, comfortable rooms, very clean. I enjoyed my stay and will return again.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Too flies flying and had to chase away or kill them constantly. Worst place to ever stayed. Only thing about positives is nice staff
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Very strange situation. From the highway one could see all windows smudged with fingerprints, at least one broken, and the parking lot totally empty as if they didn’t want business. I realize for $60 you’re not getting the Hilton but renting rooms is not the purpose there, maybe something else like stealing credit card info?
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This is a great building and a great location , if they clean it. however it was nothing like advertised 1 room had so many flies that the kids wanted to sleep in the car, the faucet on the sink when you lift the handle the whole faucet lifts up a squirt water ,there was a bullet hole in the ceiling in the bathroom and 1 between the beds,I was in the room above this and when we take a shower the water goes down stairs, there was blood on the bathroom wall the shower curtains are nasty and the bathrooms smell like sex the blankets and curtains are nasty curtain hooks were missing it was extremely dirty , when asked of the gentleman that’s suppose to be house keeping to clean the room he said that he we clean the room when we leave , we was there for 4 days we could not have clean linen or the rooms cleaned, he was very rude and arrogant , needless to say Walmart made as much for clean supplies Lysol wipes , gloves Lysol disinfectant etc.and linens blankets, sheets , towels and shower curtains as the 4 rooms it self cost, no more last minute booking. Worst place that I have ever seen, However the front desk person was very pleasant.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The bathroom door was dragging on the floor, because the hinges were loose. They did not clean the room in 3 days. We had to ask for clean towels the third night. Property is not very well maintained. Dirty !!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The property needs a lot of updating. It's very rundown and gross.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice place - Very comfortable. Very clean. Friendly service.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The property needs work - a lot of it. The common areas are leaky, dirty and worn out. The rooms are slightly better, but not very clean. The chair in our room was broken, the toilet was stained and not clean, and the floor was dirty.
There was a party in the parking lot outside our room that went on until 4 am. The noise was mostly drowned out by the extremely loud fan on the air conditioner, but we could still hear the music.
I can't recommend staying here unless you really need an inexpensive place to stay in the area.
- Becky (4/5): Don't stay here - The room smelled like smoke upon entering, was a non smoking room. Sheets had holes in the and we not clean. Bathroom floor had trash on it. My biggest problem was the AC. There is no AC. The room has a unit, there are no buttons to use. It is on, a fan running. My room was probably 85 degrees or higher. I couldn't sleep, it was too hot. I wanted to open the door because it was cool outside but didn't trust sleeping with door open and people were outside talking extremely loud and it was 2 am.
- Kimberly (8/5): Don’t judge by outside - I was very pleased with the Regal Inn, the outside wasn’t the most appealing, but the room was extremely clean. The manager was very courteous and polite. Bed was very comfortable and channel selection was stellar. Only thing lacking was a microwave in the room. Keep in mind this is a small roadside motel, not a big chain.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Bad shape, uncared for motel - Sheets had holes in them and stains. Dried urine on the toilet seat. Non-matching lightbulbs. Birds nesting in outdoor stairwell. Overall run down, poorly maintained place. Knew what I was likely stepping into but even for a roadside motel, this was bad. $58 is overpriced, even with it being the only reasonably priced place on the ESVA for a weekend night.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The condition of the hotel was very clean. Things were broke in the rooms. Weird smells. Beds were not in good condition. Blankets has burn holes in them. Overall condition was poor. I did not stay there.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly staff. Just a home feel experience
- Brandi (10/5): Don’t judge book by cover - Don’t look like much on inside but the room were not bad. I was impressed!
- Brandi (10/5): Normal hotel - Good motel. Didn’t look like much on outside but inside was really nice!
- Jonathan (6/5): Fishing trip - Quiet place
- Michael (6/5): - The service was great very friendly staff the room was extremely dirty full of flies and extremely noisy from the rooms above
