- Robert (7/5): Good value for the location. - Breakfast was ok. Poor coffee offering. Very limited fruit. Due to an internal issue between Booking.com and Hilton , we were not able to be checked in. The front desk were not very friendly and basically said it’s up to you to resolve it with Booking .com. I felt they could have taken credit card details and allowed us to check in while it was resolved. Instead they left us to stand in the lobby on the phone for an hour. Not friendly.

- Kurt (2/5): What would have been a great stay was unfortunately ruined by noisy children. I blame the parents. - I actually like the hotel itself. The room was very nice, and the staff was pretty good. Also, the breakfast was better than the average hotel breakfast. My family and I were not able to rest well due to other guests allowing their children to rip and run all night.....literally. We heard bumping and running above our room all through the wee hours of the night. I understand that children are going to bump around, but allowing them to do so in the middle of the night, knowing that people are in rooms below you is simply unacceptable. It got so bad, I was forced to lie in bed with my headphones on, playing soft music to try to drown out the noise. I told the front desk about it, and the worker called the room above us and asked them to please keep their children calm at nigjt because we were not able to rest. Unfortunately that call did not work because the next night (our last night there) was much of the same. We decided that although we liked the hotel, the next time we're in Hilton Head it may be better for us to rent an air bnb.

Did have 1 staff member who was kind of aggressive with how she asked questions. I asked for towels and instead of asking which kind, she just stared at me and used a hand motion acting as though I could read her mind.

- secondsuzy (4/5): Do yourself a favor and go somehere else - We are Hilton Honors Gold members and the service here was the worst we may have ever had. The front desk is rude and not interested in providing any assistance at all. We chose our room on the app and she said we gave the room to someone else so you will just have to get what you get. I contacted Hilton Honors and they attempted to move me but this place was refusing to refund the points. Never seen anything like this place in all my travel. I requested top floor and they placed us on the 2nd floor in a room with a terrible bed that was not usable. If you are not friends with the staff good luck getting any service. I would advise you get another place.

- Ezekiel (7/5): - Location was great and the scenery! The staff were nice. I had a problem being charge for a second room that I cancelled through booking.com. I initially reserved a room and then cancelled due to possible hurricane conditions. I reserved it again for the same dates but somehow I was charged an extra 189.00, so now I am waiting for it to be reversed and the money retuned back to my credit card. As of now it has not been returned. I have never had this to happened. I spoke with a customer service representative from Booking.com and he said he sent an email to them explaining everything. I will give it a couple a days to see if it will be returned to my credit card.

Only issue I had was that this hotel is pet friendly and unfortunately my room was close to someone that had a barking dog all night. Aside from this all else was good.

- C2223UMlindak (4/5): Pets in Hotel - We are loyal Hilton guests and I generally have positive experiences at Home2Suites. I don’t normally write reviews but felt it was important to let others know about pets at this hotel. Although the hotel was clean and the breakfast was good, there was a distinct pet smell throughout the hotel. Our room had an odor which at first we could not identify but as we slept the smell became more intense. After showering in the morning the room smelled like a wet dog. The hallways also were overpowering dog smells. I am not a dog owner because I have allergies (but generally like dogs). For our future knowledge and visits we inquired as to whether the hotel designated certain rooms for pets or at the very least if they kept some rooms pet free. The answer is no - every room is a pet friendly room. While I respect and appreciate people who wish to travel with their pets, it is unfortunate that there are not safe areas for people who do have allergies. I compare to olden days when you could request a smoking or non smoking room. Why not have pet and non pet friendly rooms ? I will contact Hilton hotels as well.

- 701lawrencel (2/5): Nightmare - Nightmare! My stay at Hilton Head Home2 Suites was a nightmare! I didn’t get an hour’s worth of sleep. The toxic fumes from a nearby paper mill infiltrated and over powered my room. When I called the front desk to change rooms, they said they were aware and there was no room free of those fumes. They refused to compensate me and apologized saying it was out of their control. They made no effort to make me happy or satisfied. Poor customer service. They need to warn people of these possible toxic fumes.

- 789elenf (10/5): The best staff!! - We booked a room at this Home2 when we were in Hilton Head for a wedding. It was the most affordable option for us, and we could not be happier with our choice. The room was clean and had everything we could need. We arrived early and the staff accommodated us for early check in. Most of all, the staff were so unbelievably kind and friendly. We were provided with complimentary water, lemonade, cookies, apples, coffee, tea, and of course the morning breakfast. The location was close to the airport and only a 5 minute drive to the beach resort where our wedding was.

The room was small. The bed was awful, room 217. The air conditioner was loud. The bathroom was marginally clean. The breakfast was limited. - AMY (10/5): Great, clean and comfortable overall - Overall we loved it! Very clean and comfortable, good breakfast with plenty of options. Lots of well designed and thoughtful details. Only problem with our suite was the pocket door for the bathroom wasn't installed quite right, so it wouldn't close the last 3/4" or so (or lock, obviously). Otherwise, great hotel. We'd definitely stay in this chain again!

- scl44 (6/5): I wouldn't call it home for more than a night - Here are 5 things to know about the Home2Suites: 1. We've used the Home2Suites as a filler night before our annual timeshare starts. The selling points are that (a) the hotel accepts pets and (b) the room accommodates a family of four. The sofabed turns into something resembling a bed. It's not the most comfortable sofabed, but it gets the job done. 2. I would assuage that the hotel gets a lot of turnover, and it shows. Peeling wallpaper, scratches, and dents are everywhere. We've stayed at the hotel for several consecutive years, and the in-room decline is in full effect. Aside from the wear and tear, we've found the hotel to be clean. 3. The fitness center is one of the nicer areas of the property. The Peloton bike is theoretically a selling point, but it was not working during our stay. The pool is relatively small for the property. Its side location makes it feel like a last-minute add-on versus an intentional relaxation space. 4. If you are a Hampton or Homewood regular, be prepared for a breakfast downgrade. I'm hard-pressed to complain about a free breakfast, but the only option that appeared appetizing was the cereal. The warmed-up breakfast sandwiches and pastries were unappealing. It's a basic breakfast at best and will tide you over before your real breakfast. 5. The Shelter Cove location is central to Hilton Head restaurants and shops. The summer Shelter Cove festivities are a solid 15-20-minute walk if you would prefer not to deal with parking. On-site parking is free, and we've never had trouble finding a spot in the hotel lot. While some of these comments may lean toward the negative side, the Home2Suites is (actually) one of the better hotels on the island. This observation reveals a lot about the standard hotel choices. After all, it's an island that runs on vacation rentals and timeshares, and there are plenty of excellent options in those categories. But if you're like us and need a filler night, the Home2 gets the job done.

- MikeT4119 (4/5): They Stranded Us - I have been a Diamond Member of the Hilton Hotel chain for years and have therefore stayed at several of the Hilton brands all over the USA. I generally never have a complaint. However, my wife and I stayed at the Home 2 Suites on Hilton Head Island for a week of vacation. Never have I been treated so badly at any hotel ever. The staff was certainly friendly enough but the management was combative and unreasonable. My wife and I used the "courtesy" shuttle to go from the hotel to the beach. As instructed, we filled out the bus sign up sheet with our desired departure and pick up times. Two days in a row this hotel left us stranded at the beach. When I tried to get an explanation from the manager, she would not take responsibility for the errors and kept insisting that I didn't fill out the sheet, I assure you, we did, acted like I was the unreasonable one expecting be picked up at the prearranged time. At no time would anyone at this hotel take responsibility for leaving us stranded. This was a very frustrating experience. I do not recommend this hotel.

- Tayalexand (9/5): Highly recommend this for a family traveling to Hilton Head! - We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It felt very safe and was only a 10 minute drive to Coligny. The room was an amazing size for our little family. This was our first beach trip with our 6 month old and felt like we had plenty of space and the full size fridge, dishwasher and the kitchenette as a whole made prepping bottles so easy. We were provided with a pack-n-play for our daughter to sleep which was a huge plus! Ms. Anderson at the front desk was so extremely kind and such a delight to work with! The towels in the room were not horrible but I would have loved to see more updated ones. Especially after a long day at the beach- a thin, rough towel is not my favorite!
