- Shannon (10/5): Clean and modern rooms. - The breakfast was nice and coffee all day. Loved that it had an indoor pool.
- Lakeita (10/5): Excellent - Clean, comfortable and provided exactly what we needed. I’ve never had all of the amenities you all provided in a hotel room. We truly lacked for nothing. I also appreciated the indoor pool option for the kids and breakfast/coffee provided. N/A
- Devyani (7/5): Decent - Na Na
- Shan'non (5/5): It wasn't the best stay - Booking was easy and convenient I recently stayed at this hotel, and while the staff was pleasant and the check-in process was smooth, the room itself left a lot to be desired. The bed was extremely uncomfortable — so much so that I woke up with back pain each morning. Instead of resting, I felt like I was recovering from the mattress.
On top of that, the electrical outlets beside the bed didn’t work, which was frustrating when trying to charge my phone overnight.
I really wanted to enjoy my stay, but these issues made it difficult to get the comfort and convenience you expect from a hotel. I truly hope management takes a closer look at room maintenance and the quality of the beds, because these are basic expectations for guests.
- Dan (8/5): It was decent the king bed was comfortable so that was important - We thought the rooms were scant with amenities for the price Hard floors
- Joshua (7/5): -
- Tammy (7/5): -
- Shelton (1/5): - Lobby was clean Unfortunately, I didn’t get a good night's sleep during my visit due to the bed being extremely uncomfortable. The mattress was very firm, almost hard, and the pillows were too flat to provide any support.
Comfort is a major factor for me when choosing a hotel, and this experience left a lot to be desired in that regard. I hope this can be taken into consideration for future improvements, as I’ve enjoyed other aspects of Tru Hotels in the past.

- Willene (6/5): - I did not like that when I checked into the hotel and was given a rome upon entering the room.It had not been serviced so I had to go back down to the concierge and have another room assigned
- Roger (10/5): - Property was convenient to get to.
Staff was very cordial and helpful.
Didn't provide in room coffee, and no ice buckets. Had to go to ice maker for the bucket.
No restaurant in the hotel.
- Antoinette (7/5): -
- Rose (10/5): - Nice hotel. Very clean and great staff. Plenty of restaurants and shopping in the area around the hotel.
- Debbie (1/5): TRU wanted to give you a try but couldn't. The Holiday Inn down the street was Great! - I liked the attendee Bruno at the front desk. He went out of his way to try to accommodate us. Very good at his job as for as customer service! I know this was really no one's fault. But with that said we were traveling with a love one that uses a wheelchair and both elevators were broke. There are no rooms on the 1st floor so we had to find another hotel to stay at after a long day of traveling it would have been nice to just check-in
- Jessica (4/5): - Every year we travel to Sumter to visit family for a few days before making our way to beach. Normally, we stay at Holiday Inn Express; however, we decided to give Tru by Hilton a try. Disappointed to say the least. Front desk was pleasant but proceeded to tell us that our room will not have a microwave, in room coffee pot nor a mini fridge (although when booking through Expedia under the impression it would) no biggie only staying for a few days we can manage. According to the front desk they do this so people will come to lobby and mingle. Skip to the room…rooms are small, bed was uncomfortable, water pressure was terrible, floors were filthy, towels smelled funky (can’t even begin to describe). No exhaust fan in bathroom so when you showered, even with door closed it produced so much moisture throughout the room the floor was wet and slick. Garbage over flowing by the elevators leaving an unpleasant smell. I thought with all the positive reviews prior to booking it would be the perfect two day stay but to my surprise it was a BIG disappointment! I do NOT recommend!

- jarrod (10/5): - Staff was friendly. The area was clean and accommodating. Breakfast was very good.

- 668pattid (10/5): Thank you Lacy and Kay!!!!! - Thank you to the staff at Tru by Hilton in Sumter, SC. The staff went above and beyond to meet my needs and exceed my expectations. I was in town for a funeral when at the last minute I decided to stay an extra day. Lacy and Kay were quick to make sure a reservation was made and promptly took care of the details without any issues or drama. Their kindness and professionalism was greatly appreciated. I cannot say enough how much I appreciated the excellent customer service I received. I will absolutely be back! Thank you again Lacy and Kay!!!!
- Tanya (10/5): - Very accommodating
- Shannon (6/5): - Theirs are so many food and shopping options in the vicinity. But for some reason our floor (vinyl) were extremely shiny and slick. We thought that maybe it had just been cleaned so we tried to wipe it up with a towel and the towel wiped up black and dirty. It
- Cynthia (9/5): - Location Bathroom was just ok not clean enough for me
- Christopher (9/5): -
- Allen (5/5): - The room was small ! The front desk didn't know that they had EV chargers on the premises. That created a big problem for us.
- Albertus (8/5): Overall this good place to stay - Good breakfast and room Price
- Bill (9/5): Superb -
- Pete Sneesby (10/5): - Logan is brilliant. She is a great ambassador and asset for your business.
I don’t have anything but praise for her.
- Latoya (5/5): Passable -
- Bonnie (9/5): Would definitely stay again! - Everything was great! Staff, accommodations, breakfast, cleanliness, proximity to things we wanted to do. No fault of the staff, but there was a big storm that knocked out power to the elevators, so we had to use the stairs when bringing our luggage down. To their credit, they shut the elevators down while a warning light was flashing right away and nobody was stuck.
- Lazaros (9/5): Great staff, clean, great place - It was very clean
- JayeLuxe (8/5): Good stay! - I recently stayed at Tru by Hilton, Sumter, SC, as a Hilton Preferred member and I was really impressed—especially with an employee named Logan. Even though she was juggling a busy check-in rush, she stayed super friendly and professional. She went out of her way to bring us extra pillows twice (bc they were too soft) , which was such a nice touch. The hotel itself feels like a boutique spot—cozy and unique and catered towards an open minded customer. Logan’s attentiveness and genuine care made our stay feel special. She’s exactly the kind of employee you hope to find at a hotel, and she really stood out. You're lucky to have her. Please give her kudos.
- Tameah (10/5): Family friendly and fun location - My family and I always stay at this hotel whenever we’re in town. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Especially J, Lacy and I don’t know the lady who works nights.
- Serena (10/5): We had a nice stay for my “Love”family reunion. This is our first choice when staying. Our boys love the pool. We had a -
- Joseph (8/5): Good for a short solo visit - Stayed two nights. The room was clean and comfortable, and the whole property was very bright and modern. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Check in and check out were easy. This was a good option for a solo traveler and short stay, BUT I think the small room size and lack of a closet, shelves or dresser would feel cramped for a longer stay or if traveling with a family.
- Anthony (8/5): Very good -
- Corey (10/5): Exceptional -
- George (9/5): Another great stay!!! -
- Madeley (10/5): - 1st time staying at a Tru it was nice and clean. Loved the self make pancake machine. Breakfast was good. Staff was nice. Overall just a great and experience. Thank you
- Oliver (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deborah (2/5): - Liked absolutely nothing. This is merely a place to lay your head for the night. Unfortunately it was a uncomfortable night. The bed is horrible. I woke up with a backache. The sheets need to be replaced they were so rough and scratchy that I slept on top of them. The floor was sticky and greasy. I guess I'm spoiled at other hotels because it was disappointing that they didn't even offer bottled water. Front desk associate is young and unprofessional. She actually had someone on speaker phone listening to the conversations. I know because she said as much whenever they commented. Definitely will not return. The only thing good was the grits with the free breakfast.
- Shontavia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Latavia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sethina (8/5): - I liked the overall cleanliness of the room but not the size. I liked that breakfast was included but not the pancake machine that kept malfunctioning.
- Simona (6/5): Pleasant - Atmosphere nice Bathroom wasn’t clean and the room service attempted to come in the room twice with no notice
- Simona (6/5): Disappointed - The atmosphere was nice The bathroom wasn’t clean and room service attempted 2 times to come in my room unannounced it wasn’t close to check out time.
- Dashan (10/5): Exceptional -

- Keaton (10/5): Spectacular - It was great didn’t have to nowhere, everything I wanted & needed was there. Didn’t accept cash
