For the very expensive rates which ended up higher than our reservation. We received NO maid service at all! For the rates we paid? That is unexcitable! Our rate being raised for no reason during out stay! Not right! I worked in the hotel industry for twenty years. We never did that sort of thing to a guest! I was also unable to get the baseball game on the tv. .The desk came up and said it was set but didn't work and when I called to the desk multiple times. I was ignored!

Tracy Christopher (5/5): Mostly pleasant - One of the biggest issues was one of the elevators was broken from the time we arrived at 2 o’clock Saturday till the following morning I had to walk four flights down in high heels; even though elevator that was said to be in operation was taking forever to get to the fourth floor, well in the meantime, my daughter was waiting downstairs in the Uber to get to the wedding, which we arrived to five minutes late. I had been assured when we arrived that the elevator was going to be fixed soon, but it still wasn’t working when we left the following day at 11 AM that should never happen. Secondly, the bathroom floor smelled like mildew. They must’ve cleaned with an old mop there wasn’t enough toilet paper. I had to use the Kleenex. There was only about one and a quarter rolls of toilet paper when I arrived they could’ve put an extra roll or two on one of the shelves in the bathroom. Leslie went to breakfast at 10 AM. They said they serve breakfast at 6 AM and 10 AM. The eggs were cold. The potatoes were like a strange overly spice lemony flavor. I was not the only one who said they were not good and it was difficult to peel the hard boiled eggs so that was a disappointment. However, the facilities in general were good. I liked the eating area that we had breakfast sat at the counter watched the morning news the front desk staff were very friendly very accommodating of the service people that were cleaning the rooms we’re friendly and the one lady actually helped me zip my dress on the way to the wedding because I couldn’t zip it up by myself and family members were not able to help me out with that. I appreciated the grounds where I was able to walk my dog and the handy doggy bags to pick up her poop. I did note that the indoorpool had green algae growing in it. Very uninviting, even though I was not planning to swim nor did I have time I can imagine the people that wanted to use it or probably disgusted. All in all the beds were very comfortable and the price fairly Having an elevator that worked, food was cold at breakfast, cold, omelettes, and potatoes over seasoned they might wanna try steam Heating the eggs to hard boil them instead of boiling them in water or however, they prepared them. I have found personally that steam cooking eggs makes hard boiled eggs, so much easier to peel no egg white was. And finally as I mentioned in the previous section, whoever mopped the floor in the bathrooms needs to do a better job the floor smelled of mildew and I suspect it’s because after using the mops, they didn’t squeeze it out and hang it to dry properly. We attended a wedding in Chicago this last weekend. The hotel chosen for wedding guests did not allow dogs. I saw that there was a Hampton Inn right across the highway from the chosen wedding hotel that allowed dogs, and I knew it would be in a safe area of town. When we arrived, Allison greeted me with a smile and was so welcoming. She gave me a run-down of the property and times that the amenities were usable. It was an absolute bonus that the 1st floor room we requested was available. It was right near the exit which if the exterior doors close hard, our night could be horribly interrupted. We were so pleasantly surprised when we discovered the doors appeared to be "soft close" doors!!! We were never awakened by a slamming door either exteriorly or interiorly! The hotel was clean and had updated decor. We loved that the surrounding grounds were a dog's paradise. Tons of grass and trees with a city park across the street, to boot!! Our room was clean with the exception of a cobweb in the corner of our bathroom door. I can live with that considering I can't remember the last time we stayed in a hotel, and I didn't find hair in the shower! I love me a white shower like the Hampton Inn's was and not a hair to be found!! We were in a king suite which was huge with a huge bathroom vanity area and a shower/toilet water closet. So awesome! It had an absolutely huge TV that swiveled to face the bed, then to the other direction to the living space. It was completed by a kitchenette area as you first entered the room. The one downfall was the 1st floor ice machine was broken, but in reality, taking the elevator to the 2nd floor was faster and closer! We ate breakfast at the hotel only 1 morning because of our wedding activities. It was a well laid out, clean, and tasty food variety. We would have gladly done round 2, if plans had allowed. The dining area was kept clean and appeared to have ample seating for everyone. Our stay at Burr Ridge was a lovely relaxing one that was also enhanced by the abundance of parking in the front and back of the hotel. Normally, I am leery to park in the back for safety reasons. DO NOT hesitate. I felt incredibly safe in this area of town!!! I should have taken pictures to enhance this review, and I am sorry I did not.
