• Valérie (8/5): Cozy as a home - It was really like a home. Very cosy, lot of plants outside it was beautiful. The views on Agua were phenomenal! It was not as clean as it looks on pictures. Towels were a bit stain, on the patio it smell a bit urine cat. But overall it was good!

• Andrés (9/5): Great views, gotta work on delivering information. - The bed was very nice and comfortable, the place had a good vibe and the best is the view of the volcanoes There was a bit of confusion with the check out time because we got a message from the host saying it was at 10:30, on booking it says 10:00 but he told us 11:00. I'd suggest to keep it homogenous.
• Lojewski (10/5): Exceptional - It was beautiful! Very boho laid back vibe. JB, the property manager is so nice! Beautiful decor and garden. The way into town was confusing. We got super lost walking back at night. There are alleys and road closures that don’t exist on Google maps. Make sure to get a Tuktuk. Super low light inside which made it really hard to pack and organize.
• Jack (6/5): Pleasant experience at Baraka, but overall disaapointing due to not everything working - JB was a nice host & the bed was comfortable I didnt think the balcony space was as nice as the pictures suggested, the bath tub was faulty so we couldnt use it and received a 20% refund. This is still considerably more expensive than better located hotels in Antigua, so the facilities not meeting expectations completely took away from the comfort anticipated from the listing.

• Evy (5/5): Go for a bigger room - Very kind host and nice common areas in Moroccan style The small queen bedroom was waaay too small, no room to put 2 backpacks, the mattress is very soft so you basically fall onto each other and there is no door between bed and bathroom. Was very awkward staying there with a friend… Also not in the center of Antigua so at night you always have to take a Uber and the address is not so clear.

• Wasim (10/5): I spent just under three weeks here while conducting field work at Fuego and Pacaya volcanoes. - Considerate, attentive guesthouse staff. Very flexible with arrival/leaving times and remarkably okay with me storing my field work samples in the storage room! Oh, and Indi - the resident house cat - is so friendly. Overall a tranquil place and a great stay. One thing to note is that the guesthouse is a 30-minute walk from Antigua town centre, and that the walk involves walking alongside the highway. This is less than ideal at night-time, though there's always the option of an Uber.

We stayed in the king’s bedroom which was super comfortable, large, quiet and with beautiful decoration and calming vibes. The hosts and the other guests in the house were super friendly and the neighbourhood was lovely. The large shared kitchen was very convenient and the house has plenty of space to relax and enjoy your stay. we would definitely stay here again!

• Elizabeth (8/5): a rejuvenating stay! - the home itself is beautiful, truly an oasis in the middle of Antigua. the master bedroom is diving & the soaking tub?! everything. hot water always to be found, amazing views, & the most comfortable bed. getting to & from this property was a bit of a nightmare. several streets are non existent or closed off making this place almost impossible to walk to & from if you didn’t want to take the main highway road - going from 15 to about 35 min of a walk. google maps hasn’t corrected this error & it was problematic for uber & tuk tuk drivers, as well. it should be noted that not all bedrooms have doors. the master king had only just a curtain & some swinging bamboo shutters that didn’t completely cover the frame. there is still ample privacy in the room itself, but in terms of noise reduction you are able to hear others moving about in & around the space or are self conscious of the noise coming from your own room. my daughter had a bit of a coughing fit in the middle of the night & i felt horrible wondering if we were disturbing others’ rest. i think this could easily be fixed by placing a thicker curtain in place of the thin one currently there if a door might take away from the aesthetic.

There are many corners in the house where you can rest and think. You have to learn to get along with other guests. The peaceful location comes with the price of being away from downtown Antigua.
