Guest Reviews
- Dionýz (6/5): -
- Cees (8/5): Goede locatie voor doorreis naar Murchison Falls - Kamers waren erg goed en netjes Eigenlijk niets.
- Claire (9/5): -
- Guest (10/5): Enjoyed immensely! - We enjoyed our stay, it was a comfortable clean space. The bedding was clean and there was warm water to bathe. Very nice! An air conditioner would be practical in the hot nights and the tiling in the bathroom have a more finished look.
- Sara (7/5): Good lodge overall for a short stay! - The place was very central and very well maintained and clean! The food of the place was okay but not amazing. Some staff members of the restaurant were not really professional, didn’t seem very motivated on their job and when a small issue with the food arose due to their misunderstanding they did not try to fix it.
- Franck (10/5): - Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le lieu, les bâtiments, les chambres, le personnel. Nous avons passé un très bon moment au New court view Hôtel.
- Barbara (8/5): Nice oasis close to town - Its a nice accomodation with different options from huts to the big tripple rooms. Somd cozy table i the restaurant with leaves covering the surrounding. Nice staff, always there for any requests or help organizing trip to Murchison Falls Park Area.
Place is close to the center and you can reach the Link bus station in 5 min by walking. The food took long go be prepared. And there were some issues with having warm water in the shower.
- Neil (6/5): - Did the job and was clean

- Christophe (8/5): Cadre sympa, bon rapport qualité prix.

- Russell (8/5): Excellent value for money. Nice garden and friendly staff in a clean environment - Decent food, excellent coffee! Service was a little slow
- Amelie (8/5): Good location after Murchison Falls on the way back to Kampala - Clean and comfortable huts in the heart of the city. Convenient restaurant attached, good parking also for big cars. Nice staff. Good breakfast! The noise from the street. The prices in the restaurant are quite expensive.
- Balasubramanian (10/5): Exceptional - Short stay for one day Cleanliness
- Kulshrestha (3/5): They not give room. - They denide for room. Not taking online bookings
- Tomer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nemo_traveller (9/5): Superb - All was nice and clean, food was good
- Mick (10/5): Great stay and great value for money. - Great varied menu, friendly staff, battery powered backup for power cuts, super hot shower even with solar during power cuts, great value for money. Nothing
- Daniele (9/5): Superb - I liked the room, the well maintained court, the food and the staff kindness. Just some traffic noise from the roads, but it is normal for being in a very central position.
- S (10/5): We loved our stay especially being able to experience living in an authentic African style hut. The staff were lovely an - Loved the whole African theme of being able to stay in hut. The room it self was basic, but it was absolutely spotlessly clean and had no insects or mosquitoes. The shower has plenty of hot water!
The breakfast was absolutely brilliant, everything was freshly made and tasted delicious.
There are other restaurants, cafes and bars around the area which were very nice too. Nothing - we loved it there!
- Hamida (8/5): Very good -
- Anshb (5/5): Fair for a night stay - Breakfast was good but limited. Over all it a beautiful concept but needs a revamp. The rooms need a revamp. Its high time to change the bathroom fittings, furnishings and towels. A few rooms are located by the side of the highway which are extremely noisy. Please emphasize on cleanliness.
- Anaïs (10/5): Exceptional - Practically situated towards the end of Masindi town, the hotel is charming. The small houses are very well thought, and have everything you would need for a short stay. The atmosphere is serene, and the people are nice. As it is located close to the main road, it can be a bit noisy at night if you are sensitive to this. Other than that, I didn't have any other remark.
- Omar (9/5): Superb - The food Nothing
- Timothy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stayce (1/5): Bad - Friendly staff Security wasn't great, extremely noisy at night with cars and I believe someone checked through my belongings and took my bra so the staff are thieves
- Raffaella (10/5): Exceptional - Everything
- Justin (8/5): Great stopover in Masindi - We were on our way from Kampala to Murchison Falls NP and ended up running out of time before it got dark so made an unexpected stop at New Court. The staff was incredibly helpful and the facilities met our expectations. I would recommend when in Masindi. Restaurant was great as well.
- Borivoj (9/5): Superb -
- Borivoj (9/5): Superb -
- Eileen (9/5): Very good, helpful staff, good food and nice simple rooms, good hot water - Great garden, clean simple rooms, very good restaurant.
- Mukund (2/5): Very poor -
- Lorenzo (7/5): Good - The bungalow are nice to see. There structure has also a restaurant. Clean must be improved together with protection from insect as most of the hotels in Rwanda do.
- Charles (7/5): Good -
- Petra (7/5): Decent for overnight stay on the way to Murchison Falls NP - Reasonable price, manicured garden Proximity of the busy road, noisy
- Jan (10/5): They make you feel at home away from home - One of my favorite places to stay in Uganda. We always stay here when we travel through Uganda with our students for a school project. The staff is really nice and also thinks about you when you are sitting outside, they remember what you had for drinks etc, so they ask if you would like a ... (your favorite drink). We had one day free in our schedule so we asked the staff what was nice to see or do in the neighbourhood and they gave us some nice options. So we visited the Boomu Womens group and a local wine-maker. Also they offer chimpanzee trekkings, which we always do with them.
- Joseph (7/5): Charming but could do with better maintenance - The garden and relaxing atmosphere. Clean comfy beds and rooms with good mosquito nets. Electricty works. Hot water works. Even though there is a restaurant service provided we could eat our own food in the evening in the place (bought their coffee and tea). The rooms (in individual cabins and general upkeep of the place require attention: curtains had not been washed and fittings did no longer function, grass cover on cabins was missing in several places, the bar/restaurant which originally appeared well equipped might last have been painted decades ago. The door posts in one of our rooms had visible termite damage.
- Luise (8/5): Staying only for one night, it was the perfect place since its very comfortable around and you feel like you’re in the m - the small living huds are extremely comfortable. The food was delicious and the customer service worked out very well. Since the street is very close by there is some noise pollution.
- Richard (10/5): Great place - Good room, great service and an excellent restaurant Nothing
- Inge (8/5): Very good - Nice cottages
- Michel (9/5): Nice and cost effective - Nice and convenient situation. Good price. Lining could be cleaner, there were stains after cleaning but this is minor.
- Sajeev (10/5): Exceptional - Nice & comfortable
- Meddie (7/5): Good -
- Sofia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Truth (3/5): Poor -
- Nils (8/5): Very good -
- Olive (9/5): Superb -
- Truth (4/5): A short stay might be alright - The location was good as a trip coming from Murchison Falls to Kampala. The staff was friendly. The room was not clean. There were droppings around the room and in the bathroom. I was not comfortable. I just wanted to sleep and leave. The restaurant was also not that clean. Lots of cobwebs and also dogs and cats in the dining area.
- Mahdi (7/5): It was ordinary but we enjoyed - The design was nice and interesting It was not well decorated, not so clean, no TV and no wifi signals
- Wim (10/5): - Nice place, Nice staff, naar Murchison Falls.
- Theresa (8/5): Very good - We had to go super early so they brought us some breakfast in the evening. It was a cozy room.
- Zita (9/5): great budget choice in Masindi to start or end your trip in Murchison - the rooms are nice and clean, and have very nice (hot) showers with pressure! the breakfast was nice too, and they have a large selection in the restaurant. beautiful garden, but my favorite was the patchwork bed cover (made by local women) good takes a while to prepare, so be patient
- Omrido (4/5): Staff is not helpful and there are better options just adjacent so would not recommend - sorry. - The place did not have power nor hot water, and did not take care of a backup generator - while other places around did so. The staff turned the lights on me at 22:00 without notice, and left the premises leaving me alone with no one to talk to.
I literally took my things and moved to the adjacent hotel - it had power and hot water. I stayed the night there instead.
The next morning someone texted me asking where I was for my breakfast. I was already on the way to my next destination.
Maybe this is actually a nice hostel - but the experience was the worst I had in my traveling of Uganda. - Bettina (6/5): Pleasant - Beautiful garden, nice and helpful staff, good value for money. Rooms and bathroom are very basic, but since it’s cheap you can’t expect more. The overall situation was weird. First of all, we couldn’t park at the property, because they have been locked down by the government for not paying their taxes. No idea whether they continued illegally with their business or it’s normal to do so here.
And apparently they were offended by us, because we didn’t have dinner at their restaurant but decided to go to town instead - which made them wary, I think, because when we came back from town, they asked us to pay the whole price for our stay. Odd moment.
Breakfast was good, but took an hour to be served despite us having ordered the night before, stating the time.
- Gerrit (8/5): Very good - Very good food and relatively cheap. There is not much to see or to do in Masindi, but as a stopover between Murchison and Fort Portal, the New Court View Hotel was very good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely setting amongst lush gardens. Each little banda is cute and comfortable.
- Geoffrey (6/5): You Get What You Pay For - Quality of the hotel is reflected in the price (in my case about $35 per night). The room was very small and very basically equipped - not even a TV. WiFi only works in the restaurant area. However, the water was hot (always worth checking before you lay down any money). All rooms are African 'bandas' - in the garden on ground floor. The foreign visitor may find that charming and authentic but when it's been raining, that means lots of mosquitoes. I got bitten a lot but that could be my fault for not spraying up beforehand. The staff are very good, polite, friendly and attentive. The restaurant is good too - fairly varied menu of European and African dishes, but beware...as in many Ugandan establishments, they don't always have what they advertise. Breakfast was nice and well presented. Masindi itself is not much. The main attraction is obviously Murchison, but I would have thought it's too far away to be a real launchpad for there. However, most of the other hotel guests were foreign tourists so maybe I'm wrong.
