Guest Reviews
- Andrea (10/5): - We loved our stay at the Sunset Cottage! It was one of our favorite places we stayed during our 10 days in Iceland. The cottage itself is located over a hill, several hundred meters away from the main buildings, and provides s lot of privacy. It was quiet and clean with wide open views of the countryside. We had breakfast on our last day ~$21USD/person), and it was great. We also ate at the restaurant onsite for several dinners so that we could enjoy the lovely waterfall view and delicious food. We would absolutely stay here again if in the area.
- Heather (8/5): - It is a lovely property with a great view. The cottage had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. The cafe had great food and the prices were reasonable for the area. Only complaint was that the hot tub area did not have no-slip mats and with the water and cold the floor froze up and I fell and broke my arm. While waiting for emergency services to arrive the staff was more upset about not being able to lock up the bathhouse rather than concern for my safety and protection from the elements (it was late and cold and windy that night). Considering the lack of safety measures, they could have been more understanding given the circumstances
- DURBA (10/5): - Prompt reply to queries, quite and close to nature. Very clean , well maintained property.
- Patricia (10/5): - We stayed at the Sunset Cottage. It was my husband, our 21 year old, 16 year old and me. The cottage has two bedrooms, a bathroom and a small kitchen/sitting area. It was super clean and very comfortable.
- Frédéric (10/5): - Accueil top, mobil home bien isolé au calme région superbe
- Stephen (10/5): - Are
- Stefano (10/5): - Very nice! We enjoyed our stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - One of our most fun stops! Hidden gem. Property and evening dining area overlooks a beautiful waterfall. We and the kids loved the troll garden and games. The cottage itself was nice. 1 full, 2 twin beds, private bathroom, kitchenette. It's up on a hill, away from the rest of the camping/sleep pods. We enjoyed the privacy. I was worried it'd be a buggy area, but a-ok! I didn't know, but Iceland is mosquito-free. Just close the door quickly to avoid swatting flies. No music that evening, but a fantastic music room with a small stage. I have a feeling that it would be an incredible experience if we knew the story behind it and the music was going.
- Dorte (10/5): - Dejligt stort hus med køkken og opholdsrum, rent rart eget værelse. Fantastiske omgivelser med vandfald, gåsti mm og skønne hot tups. Dejlig mad til rimelig pris.
- Kathy (10/5): - Absolutely beautiful and spacious! We loved everything about this cottage. The owner was very polite and kind to wait for us as we arrived and showed us around the area and took us to our cottage. The views were gorgeous!
- Daniel (10/5): - Everything was so great, but what we appreciate the most:
- the opportunity of having the breakfast althought we were the only ones for it.
- that we got the room in another part from the other guests, if it was possible. It made the stay more private.
- Panyawat (10/5): Good cottage for family of 4. - The 2 bed rooms cottage Valley View is like what I expect. From here we can go to Hruanfossar with 30 min (35 km).
- Anna (10/5): one of the nicest piece of property in Iceland - beautiful setting- on river falls-nice to hike around. All types of accommodations little motel type rooms- huts with bring your bag and very nice guest cabin with great kitchen that we stayed in- suggest you do your own cooking..dinner was pricey and very bad- like thin dried fish breaded like a disguise- -not a chef in the house! Cold fish and I mean forgot to nuke well fish and chips.Breakfast- book or not was good-usual buffet. Again suggest to take advantage of fine kitchen if you have the guest cabin. Shop for food supplies in Borgarnes. The place was nice -we expected a really nice dinner, Dining room was cute- music records theme in glassed deck view of Falls.
- Scott (10/5): Troll walk. - View from cabin was beautiful. Troll walk was fun to do.
- Yves (10/5): Short stay on our way back to Reykjavik - We stayed a couple of nights at Fossatun's Sunset cottage, the place was tidy and clean, spacious enough foe a family of 4 including 2 teens. The view was fantastic and must be great for watching the northern lights when the weather allows it. Very nice troll and folklore themed walk around the water fall. Definitely one of our best stays in Iceland.
- Qi (10/5): Excellent guesthouse - Great guesthouse with very nice kitchen, bedroom and shared bathroom
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff was really nice, the room was very comfortable with an exceptional view of the ocean and mountains. It's close enough to the nearby village to go buy some groceries or go to a restaurant without any problems whilst staying far enough that the light pollution is kept to a minimum allowing a great view of the night sky.
- Verified traveler (6/5): good nature area, affodable accommodation - Nice and cozy flat to share. Everything was okay apart from the room was cold (the heating system was broken) and tv didn't work.
- Sungmin (6/5): Ok for one night - It was a stopover and price was good however, my leg got really itch (could be anything) and water did not drain well in the shower. There was nowhere we could get some milk (we expected to be able to buy some essentials at the reception). My sister's room had no heating and we could not turn on the TV. Otherwise, the rest of the property was really warm. It was okay as it was only one night for us and left the property early morning.
