Manuela (8/5): Sehr gute Erholung in den Hängematten direkt am Fluss - Wir haben im Bungalow mit Doppelbett gewohnt, Hängematten zum Erholen direkt vor der Tür mit Blick auf den Fluss. Das war herrlich. Der Check-In war sehr kompliziert, da die Angaben zur Schlüsselübergabe nicht stimmten. Der Raum ließ sehr bezüglich Sauberkeit zu wünschen. Das Moskitonetz war einfach richtig staubig und schmutzig und wir ließen es vollständig entfernen. Aus der Wasserleitung kam braunes Wasser, auch dies musste erst nochmal gecheckt werden. Nachdem wir jemanden erreicht hatten, hat man sich auch gekümmert. Es wäre schön gewesen, wenn das einfach von Anfang an sauber gewesen wäre. Trotzdem hat es uns sehr gefallen, die Lage ist wunderbar und Preis-Leistung prima.

Evelyne (7/5): - Chouette bungalow avec terrasse et vue sur la rivière. Les équipements sont bien pensés (prises et lampe à la tête de lit, étagères ...). Dommage, ce n'est pas entretenu : lavabo pratiquement bouché, le support de douche est prêt de casser, moustiquaire très poussiéreuse (heureusement je n'ai pas eu à la déplier). J'ai donné mon linge à laver et je l'ai retrouvé à sécher sur la balustrade du 1er bungalow avec un tee-shirt par terre !

If you have to host here, record the payment or ask for payment proof Don't trust the host and his restaurant with bike rental they own. The host told me the price to rent a bicycle was 100,000 kip from 1:30 pm onwards, but when I went to rent the bicycle at 2:30 pm the price was 120,000 kip. Furthermore, when I went to return it, they wanted to charge me even more. Very disappointing! The room doesn't have that door, and it is very dark and smaller.

Ajánlom a Gecko éttermet a közelben, december 24-én este ettünk ott, nagyon jól esett a karácsonyi zene és a finom ételek. A képek előnyösebbnek mutatják a szobát, mint amilyen. Érkezés után megkértek, hogy mondjuk le a foglalást, hogy ne kelljen kifizetniük a booking felé a közvetítői díjat. Bár azonnal, vita nélkül elfogadták, hogy nemet mondtunk, ezt nem tartom tisztességes hozzáállásnak. Alapvetően biztosan csendes a szállás, de sajnos nekünk nem volt szerencsénk, egész délután egy hajót hegesztettek a folyó mellett, pár méterre a szobától, és a munkások zenét is hallgattak, ami erős zajjal járt.
Shannon (6/5): Would not recommend due to owner’s behavior. - Good location. Nothing better or worse than other budget accommodations. The first thing the owner did was cancel my reservation through Booking.com and proceed to charge me the same amount so she wouldn’t have to pay the booking fee and could make more money. She was obsessed with bad mouthing French tourists who gave her poor reviews. After paying for the room when we arrived we never saw her or any other employees again. No one to leave the key with at check out.

Solene (3/5): Même si le logement est propre et bien situé, plusieurs points nous ont vraiment dérangés, notamment la demande d’annule - L’emplacement est top et les chambres confortables. Nous avons eu une mauvaise impression concernant la gestion de l’établissement. Le propriétaire nous a demandé d’annuler la réservation sur Booking pour éviter leurs frais, sans que le prix baisse pour nous. De plus, il est entré dans notre chambre sans prévenir, ce qui n’était pas du tout rassurant. Qu’aurait-il fait si nous n’étions pas là à ce moment ?

Beds have no privacy curtains and room is small for 6 beds. Floors need a good wash, your feet always felt dirty, bathroom/toilet bin wasn't cleaned or emptied the 2 days I was there. No coffee/tea, hot/cold water dispenser facilities. Common area dusty & dirty with rubbish lying around. Hosts appeared lovely in the beginning until they took your money.

Jacqueline (9/5): Great location, good room, great hosts. - The location was superb, with a great view over the valley and setting sun. We had the top floor room, furthest along and it was a nice big room. We booked a twin room and this had one double and one single bed. We liked the helpful map of walks of the area and did some of those. We liked the provision of a kettle and cups, and having the table and chairs outside. The hosts, Gabriel and Penny, were great and offered tips and advice. I think it’s one of the better rooms to stay in the area. We were pleased with our stay. I will just note that the double bed creaks when you move, or get in, and maybe needs some attention to fix it. But I still managed to sleep. It is a very quiet area.

Se escuchan tanto los gritos de la dueña, como de los huéspedes llegando tarde, y de los botes a primera hora. Además, te hace cancelar el booking y después te cobra el mismo precio, como si uno no supiera como funciona. Raro. También encontramos un par de cucarachas dentro de la pieza, pero no le dimos mucha importancia porque creo que está difícil de controlar.

Todo estaba limpio, agua caliente y con buena presión. Penny y Gabriel muy amables, te ayudan en todo y también alquilan bicicletas. También comimos en su restaurante y super rica la comida. Eau en fontaine potable et fraîche à disposition. Gabriel est venu nous accueillir à l'embarcadère et nous aider à porter nos bagages. Excellent petit déjeuner. Faible débit d'eau au lavabo. Eau terreuse.
Marloes (10/5): Een blik op de natuur en het leven in Laos - We hebben hier een fantastisch verblijf gehad. Vanuit onze balkons hadden we een verbluffend uitzicht op het karstgebergte en de rivier, de kamers waren charmant met goede airco en ruime badkamers. De eigenaar heeft voor ons de bootreis georganiseerd van Muang Khua , en de volgende dag de boot & bus naar Luang Prabang. Dat was voor ons heel fijn omdat we zo niet afhankelijk waren van de vroege boot uit Muang Khua. Kortom, een absolute aanrader!

Gary (3/5): Nice view, and that’s about it!! - Great view from the balcony, and that’s where it ends. Besides the owners son who was very pleasant and spoke perfect English, unfortunately he is just a mouthpiece though for very stingy owners! We hired a bungalow. Was no one at reception, lovely lady from the restaurant two doors down went on her motorbike to find someone. Toilet was broken, shower was poor, fan didn’t articulate, towels need throwing out! Breakfast was the worst ordeal, my wife wanted a milk coffee, son comes back saying they ‘Only do American in the breakfast included deal, breakfast which has black coffee so you have to pay for a white coffee’!! (45k for half a cup, dearest yet in Laos!) American breakfast consisted of 2 fried eggs with a roll and bit of fruit, I challenged him, where’s the sausage, bacon, beans that come with an American breakfast, ‘I don’t know’! You only get one drink, either juice or black coffee included, pitiful! I would definitely recommend staying elsewhere! And it was very expensive for what you get(especially with their inflated exchange rate).

Food at their restaurant is tasty and they make their own bread . Good Breakfast. They have a veriety of Rooms at good prices. ++++ Like many rooms in Asia , no wall or curtain in shower but this is OK with me now.

Wesley (9/5): Amazing Stay!!! - Fantastic stay by the river. Beautiful and clean bungalow! Penny is a wonderful host with bungalows for every budget. She helps you with everything! Her restaurant also serves great food, including freshly baked bread and pizzas.

Agnieszka (9/5): Lovely place with amazing view - A hammock on the balcony and a beautiful view of the river and mountains! The rooms are clean and well-equipped. Friendly staff, and in the restaurant – delicious sandwiches! There were occasional power outages, but they affected the whole village and were not the fault of the property owners.
John (9/5): If you are heading to Muang Ngoi, Riverview Bungalows & GH is a great choice for accommodation. - Our clean and comfortable room at Riverview Bungalows & GH had a lovely river view. We enjoyed our provided breakfast at Penny's Place, though it was a bit of a walk from the hotel.

Karl-reinhard (9/5): Superb - Everything was perfect to me. The view from the balkony was spectacular. Peaceful place to settle down. Gabriel is a great and helpful man. The small village is authentic laos, and a lot to see and climb. The breakfast is phantastic! Thank you so much for that relaxing time,.....and the Pizza!!! I can recommend you from my heart. A bigger hamock will be great....
Clare (9/5): Great stay. Would highly recommend - Great location. Room with a balcony overlooking the river Room was basic but had everything you needed. Shower with hot water, comfortable beds. Gabriel ( the owner) was on hand to answer any questions and was able to give advice on best areas to visit. He also booked us a boat and kayak so we could get to do the tours ourselves at a good price. Good value for money and would recommend Pennys place up the road was also good for food and coffee Nothing

Hampus (8/5): I recommend :) - Gabriel the owner was extremely helpful. Met me at the docks and answered all my questions. Helped me rent a bike. The accomodation has a great location with a nice view and it was clean and comfortable. It’s a little bit pricy but that seems to be the case in whole of Muang Ngoy.
Phoebe (9/5): 100% recommend! Value for money. - The bungalow is located right next to the river, making it the first thing you see when you get up in the morning, is really fantastic! The bathroom was clean enough, towels and soap available. The owners (Gabriel & Penny) are the sweetiest too! They also have a restaurant (Penny’s place) with a lot of good food! Definitly recommend this place! :)) The walls of the bungalow are a bit thin, so you hear the people around you (and the roosters 😅).

CHARLES (10/5): - Ce fut une réelle surprise. Déjà notre hôte nous attendait à l'arrivée de notre bateau. Nous arrivions à sa hauteur et nous demandait Riverview Bungalows ? Oui et en prononçant notre nom il a dit d'attendre qqes instants pour d'autres arrivants. Il était très souriants et agréable. Il est Suédois et marié avec une Laotienne, Penny laquelle tient un restaurant. Tout en nous dirigeant vers la Guest House , il nous donnait déjà des informations sur ce qu'il y a d'intéressants autour du village. Très rapidement nous arrivons au Bungalow Riverview and GH. L' endroit est charmant composé de Bungalows et joliments décorés de nombreuses plantes suspendues. Nous le suivons à l'étage où se trouve les chambres d'hôtes et nous indiqua la notre. Il nous a laissé toujours avec un agréable sourire. Quel bel accueil ! Et là fut la surprise. Chambre tres propre, je dirais même soignée, avec un immense lit plus un deuxième lit assez grand. Salle de bain et toilettes très bien. Nous avions une terrasse devant avec table et chaise et une vue fantastique sur les montagnes et la rivière en contrebas. Pour une chambre standard à un prix à moins de 20 euros ...quelle belle adresse ! Nous avons encore croisé notre hôte Suédois toujours souriant. Le petit-déjeuner déjeuner était compris. C'était chez Penny et c'était assez incroyable d'un buffet gargantuesque et si savoureux. Et notre hôte est venu nous dire au revoir au bateau pour notre retour et toujours souriant !
Jody (9/5): Quiet location with great view - I liked the location, which is convenient to everything but a bit outside the main cluster of hotels. At the end of the day, it was nice to return to a quiet location with a great view of the river and a comfortable terrace. The breakfast buffet, which is served a short walk down the street, offered a variety of food that would suit any taste.
