Guest Reviews

- Kris Angelie (10/5): Very well. - The property is very clean. Sunny, the owner is very kind and welcoming. I did not meet her when I checked in but she waited for me in the evening to greet me and see if everything is okay. She was also very kind to give recommendations.

- Maksim (10/5): This is one of the best hostels I have stayed at during my trip. It's a great place to relax. - The hostel is located in an authentic wooden house. The common sleeping area is divided into small cubicles, where you feel private and safe. Each bed has a fan, power sockets, and a reading light.
In the common area, there is free drinking water, a fridge, a kettle, and free tea. There are several tables where you can comfortably eat. On the second floor, there is a wonderful terrace with a view of the Nan River and a very comfortable hammock, in which I spent a considerable amount of time. The bathroom is clean, with a shower that has hot water. On the second floor, there is also a place to hang your laundry after washing.
It's no more than a 15-minute walk to the city's main attractions, and there is a shop and a café close to the hostel.
The host, Sunny, was very kind to me. Right at check-in, she showed me around the hostel and sent me a list of her favorite places in the city to visit.
I was very happy with my stay at this hostel and recommend it to all visitors.

- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - Located next to the river and a short walk/ride to the centre of town. There are plenty of local restaurants/cafes nearby as well. The host was kind and helpful and made sure that you were comfortable.
- Khin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Александр (10/5): Exceptional - Thank you very much, I spent my time in your hotel with comfort🫶

- Tadatoshi (10/5): The best - The staff here have a nice smile and are very kind!
It became the best memory!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the hotel and staff!
Thank you!!
- Giulia (9/5): Superb -
- Tim (9/5): Had a good night - I just stayed one night and didn't experience much, but the staff was super friendly, the room really nice and everything very quiet. Also it was possible for me to arrive after the normal check-in time, thank you. For washing the dishes an actual sink would be nice, but it was okay like that.
And the bed was really hard, I had absolutely no problem with that, but I want to mention it for people who care about it
- Ireneusz (10/5): A place for true backpackers and seekers of adventure. - The localisation is very good: near the river and close to nature. It is a place for true backpackers. Only spoiled, unexperienced and lazy people can complain about this hostel. I had a good time here. The staff is very kind and helpful. You can practice the Thai language with them, if you wish. They will be only too glad to help. I think I liked everything. My expectations were completely met.
- Tamara (3/5): Poor - The hostel lady offers pick up from train station.
There is a bike available, better to pre-book it. . 1) Very dirty everywhere, no single place clean to place your things in the shower - toilet. Nasty.
2)The location is 30 minutes walking from the centre. Many stray dogs everywhere, can chaise your bike.
3) No climatisation, only fan. The heat can get unbearable.
4) The bed hard, like on the floor. If you lean on the wall, it will all collapse, made of strange material. Bad lighting on the bed -room.
5) Mosquitos
- Bastide (10/5): Exceptional - Sunny is the most charming person I've met in the two months I've been in Thailand.
She is very available and very helpful.
An interesting and lovely woman.
She makes you feel at home.
Her friend Palm is also an incredible person. He has a café not far from the accommodation which I highly recommend. A peaceful place, full of vegetation and calm.
- Noel (9/5): Superb - Nice once there Bit far to walk from bus station
- Jo (10/5): It was a very good break in our schedule - Sunny is a fantastic guide and very helpful
It’s an ld school style hostel
We sat around in the night with five different nationalities and had really good conversations Only one toilet and combined shower
- Cristina (10/5): Exceptional - The best of the hostel is Sunny, the owner, she is extremely sweet and kind, and she took me around the city to show me the local culture and to try amazing food. Anything you need to know about the city or Thailand she will tell you. he is really like a ray of sun in your life🌞. Thanks to her I had an amazing experience in Pitsanulok.
And the hostel has everything you need and It is located next to the river, in a more quite area where you can find some interesting, non touristy places.
Kapkhun ka for everything Sunny! Hope to see you soon!🥰
- Dominik (8/5): Great - Staff is so kind and welcoming. The host gave me a ton of things to check out in Phitsanulok, to the point that I was pleasantly surprised by how much there was to do. Pod layouts are very spacious and feel more like a personal room than any other hostel I've previously stayed in. A fan is also provided next to the beds. also bicycles free to use which is nice. Either no Aircon or weak aircon, not sure which. Also the stray dogs near to the hostel can get a bit rowdy.
- Mauro (8/5): Very good -
- Miguel (10/5): Super nice - The space Cold water shower and no strong bidet toilette
- Zhou (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mauro (8/5): Very good -
- Charlie (10/5): Amazing host, cozy hostel! - Lovely small cozy hostel. The host Sunny is the best, she is so helpful and friendly and has this amazing energy to her! Ask and she will give you all these amazing recommendations for what to see and where to eat. We planned to stay for one night and we ended up staying for an additional 3 nights. Sunnys friend Pam has this amazing coffee please, a must visit if you like good coffee. All in all a very pleasant experience, thanks!
- Bex (8/5): Amazing value for money. - Host was amazing and took us out to local events. She was so sweet and welcoming. When we arrived she gave us ice cold water which was lovely. She took us out to a local event and sent us all the local recommendations. Beds were a bit hard.
- Tobias (10/5): Exceptional - Great hostel and very lovely Service.
- Charles (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexander (7/5): Good - The host Sunny is super helpful and lovely and chill. And the price is cheap, so good value if you just need a bed to crash for the night. Know you are staying in a super basic hostel on a somewhat busy street during peak hour. Be prepared with earplugs for the traffic and other guest noise (two of the private rooms upstairs share an opening up high in the wall so sound travels easily). Also be ready for mosquitos and the heat - room was very hot during the afternoon evening with fan on (stayed in November).
- Erik (10/5): Hidden gem and friendly staff - Owner was super friendly and always in communication.
Thanks to save my Apple Watch The bike they borrow for free need some fixing but all fine
- Charne (10/5): Excellent! Will return :-) - I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Hostelbed and Retreat in Phitsanulok! Sunny, the hostess, was incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home. The old Thai-style building added so much charm and character to my stay. The location was perfect, allowing me to easily explore the area. Plus, Sunny kept the place spotless, which I really appreciated. Highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Phitsanulok! Everything was great. :-)
- Rowling (8/5): Feels like home - Sunny is so nice! She brought me to the bridge for the sunset, and watching the colors change was stunning. You can really see how much she loves her job. The facility may be simple, but it’s totally sufficient.
- Eva (10/5): Exceptional - Sunny was such a lovely host, super welcoming and helpful :)
- Hafeez (1/5): Bad -
- Benben (10/5): Cozy and kind - Upon entering the hostel, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it exuded a homely atmosphere, with the host treating me as if I were a member of their own family. The value for money was excellent, and the host provided invaluable advice, including a recommendation to a charming café in the city. I highly recommend this establishment and intend to return in the future. -
- Benben (10/5): Lovely and perfect - Everything is perfect!

- Attila (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gabriela (10/5): Very friendly and cute place - Very friendly people running the hostel, nice location and nice to sit and look over the river. Rooms are great and clean. Bed a little bit hard but it’s ok if you are young I guess haha

- Matthew (7/5): Pleasant enough for a short stay. - Sunny is very nice & helpful. Nice view over the river. Mosquitos though Sunny provides repellent. Only 1 bathroom. Noisy at night from the bar next door.
- Apolline (8/5): Very good -
- Fernando (10/5): Exceptional - They were super friendly and helpful. Everything needed was provided. -
- O (8/5): Very good -
- Yi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Klaas (10/5): Super - The hosts are the friendliest hosts I have ever had, the building is beautiful and clean. Would really recommend this one!
- Alice (10/5): Exceptional - The place is so beautiful and peaceful, sunny is so kind
- Louise (8/5): Very good -
- Taé (10/5): Exceptional - Sunny is the loveliest host. Her hostel is very cozy, really feels like home (and she'll tell you to get comfortable as if it was your own house!) The dorm organization gives every one privacy with curtains and space for your luggage. The living room is warm, cozy and comfy with free drinking water, and a great view on the river. Sunny advised me some places to visit and where to eat. The hostel is well located, not too far from attractions (within walking distance).
I'd definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a unique and authentic experience in a real Thai home! the only down for me is that there are a lot of street dogs around the hostel, and I wasn't very comfortable walking home at night. But that's no one's fault and it didn't really affect my stay.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Maximilian (8/5): Very good - The Owner is very friendly and cares about your well being, making the stay there as good as possible. I struggled with a lot of Mosquito bites while being there unfortunately.
- Tobias (1/5): Bad - Nothing Unfriendly, uncomfortable bed
- Stephen (7/5): Nice river front area. Good value - River front was great for drinks and morning coffee
- Rafee03 (10/5): Excellent Hostel - I like the place, the owner, the decoration, and the facility. Everything was perfect. Even though the owner was not present, she made arrangements so that I can get into the hostel
- Alessia (8/5): Great stay and friendly people - Lovely hostel on the riverside and 10 mins by walk from the train station. It is a typical Thai house. The host Sunny is amazing! :) There's also a lovely cat in the hostel.
You can also get delicious food next door.
I'd definitely recommend!
- Sylvester (10/5): Exceptional - Good price
Really nice and helpfull owner
A bit of privacy
Walking distance to the station
- Jessica (9/5): Superb -
- Liv (10/5): Exceptional - Pitsanulok was actually just a place from which I wanted to continue to Sukhothai. then the last bus was already gone and I booked this hostel. What can I say... I finally stayed for 4 days at this beautiful place. Sunny is a really caring hostess and because of her it is very familiar. in addition, everything is very clean and so cozy. she showed us the city and we were often in the coffee shop of her friend Baan. the time was very nice and I would always come back.
thanks for everything🧡
Liv🌞

- Rob (10/5): Amazing value - Sunny was a brilliant host who made us feel very welcome and went out her way to help us and get to know us. The hostel was clean and had a great view over the river. We were able to do our laundry for only 20b!! Fridge and other kitchen appliances available, solid Wi-Fi and the best cat in town called Warm - amazing value! No towels provided ( no biggy if you got your own ), I personally didn’t sleep very much due to the noise of the street but I’m a light sleeper everyone else slept fine.
- Anna-luca (10/5): Really nice local Experience - Sunny was like a super caring friend :)) Really a local experience!
- Will (8/5): Very good -
- Morgan (10/5): THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO IN PHITSANULOK !!! - Planned on visiting Phitsanulok for 1 day. Stayed much longer just because of the great hostess. She will show you around town and give you a true local experience. The hostel give will give you the feeling that you're out in nature with a great riverside view. Very laid back ambience. If you're backpacking out in Thailand then this is the place to go. Don't think about booking a room at another place because you will miss out on so much fun.
Will recommend visiting this place to all the travelers I meet in Thailand. Nothing. Had an amazing time.
- Zachary (10/5): lovely owner who showed me some great places around the town -

- Yolanda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brad (8/5): Very good - Amazing local style house on the river great location.
- Alwrong (10/5): Exceptional - The hostel still has its authentic wooden plank floorings beside the river. Complimentary coffee/tea and a refrigerator. There is sheltered parking for motorcycle in front of the hostel. Walking distance to the local night food market near Phitsanulok train station. Sunny will give advise on places to visit.
- Michaela (10/5): Exceptional - Sunny is a lovely host, it was great to meet her and she gave us lots of tips for the city.
- Hazel (7/5): Good - Owner was amazing. Waited for us to arrive at 11pm & then took us to get some food. & on our final night she took us to a live music bar.
All round awesome person The hostel is a Little rough round the edge's, basic but functional.
- Burak (10/5): Exceptional - A magnificent concept with a river view and in itself, where you can feel at home in this lovely city. Thanks Sunny🙏
- Cocobalo45 (10/5): Exceptional - The owner are so nice and helpful and she can speak very good English, the location is great and the view on the river is so relaxing.
Best place to be in Phitsanulok
- Maria (8/5): Cozy Thai House on the river - The place is really authentic and cozy. Actually for me the nicest place where I stayed in Thailand because it's like a real Thai-house and not just an hostel.
Good position near the train station (10min walking) and the night market is just between the train station and the hostel. The bus station for Sukhotai historical park is 30min walking.
You can eat on the terrace watching the nice view on the river.
The stuff is really kinde and helpful. Speak perfect English and. Easy check in and check out at any time. Unfortunately I couldn't sleep much because there are quite a lot of mosquito. No air conditioning in the rooms. Only fans so it's quite warm to sleep under the warm cover and thus mosquitos can bite you. A net on the bed would be a good solution for the problem.
- Argas (8/5): Nice place, Good price, Near from train station -
