Guest Reviews
- Laetitia (10/5): Allez y! - Absolument tout! L’emplacement est juste extraordinaire. Les tente incroyable. La vue sur l rivière est magnifique. Les repas sont délicieux. Et l’accueil juste parfait! Rien
- Gunnar71 (8/5): - Super Lage, tolles ChefMenü zum Dinner Die "Chalets" sind eher Zelte, Bad usw. Recht einfach aber funktional.
- Ralf (10/5): - Very friendly owners and atmosphere! Thanks for the excellent food and service.
It was a pleasure to stay at your place.
- Giacomo (10/5): -
- Robin (9/5): -
- Benitta (3/5): - Close to main road. The language of the managers.
We stayed one night and don't think the managers realized we could speak afrikaans. My son was swimming and I think the managers son or friend or someone made a very rude comment with swearing in about why my son sounds like he is screaming like a girl. Also while we stayed there the managers were on their verandah and for most of the night we could hear the conversations with some very vulgarity which was not appropriate or appreciated as we have kids. This took away from the serenity of the place.
- Lasse (9/5): -
- Beate (9/5): perfekt! - Frühstück und Abendessen sehr gut!
- Jan-Willem (10/5): -
- Steffen (10/5): Absolut genial -
- Paul (10/5): Lovely, quiet stay at Chobe - We really enjoyed our stay here. The tented room was very comfortable and we loved the deck with the far reaching views and watching the animals. We did two game drives here with Lucky and he was excellent.
- Heike (10/5): Tiere, Organisation, Unterkunft alles klasse!!! - nichts -
- Erika (3/5): We Will Never Come Back - Nice setup. Very busy waterhole. Pool with a view. When we arrived about 3pm there was a power outage. We got told it's one from 7am until about 7pm.
It was extremely hot. There was no backup generator, therefore there was no working a/c, our fridge didn't work, it was unbearable in the luxurious tents. We even couldn't make us a cup of coffee. The barman offered us a filter coffee instead but we had to pay for it.
We tried to cool down in the pool but got told we have to use our tent towels. I had to get quite angry to get an extra towel for the pool.
After I complained about the missing power backup the owner told us outages happen only very rarely. This is a blunt lie because it is a known problem in Botswana for many years and happens on a weekly occasion, sometimes even daily. This means the owner expects from the guests to live under extreme uncomfortable circumstances without any warning or compensation.
In the morning I wanted a coffee before the breakfast was ready. The barman asked me to pay extra for it.
Then we had a small breakfast (a very small bowl of yogurt, fresh fruits, some bread, jam and coffee). Unfortunately we didn't asked about the price before. The invoice was a shock: 300 Pula for this mini breakfast/person. Incredible expensive for what it was.
It was the third time we visited the place but after this experience I will never book it again.
- DANIELLA (8/5): Tented camp with amazone view over Chobe - Setting - game drives with TT - kindness Amelia - animals in the evening at waterpoint Not a very empathic owner towards his customers
- zalman (10/5): -
- DARIO (10/5): Fantastico.
- David (8/5): An interesting and convenient location. - Excellent location close to Chobe River with visiting wildlife. Conveniently closer to road than many lodges. Very good breakfasts. Over elaborate dinner presentation: expensive food does not always meet expectations. No locks on accommodation doors.
- Riccardo (10/5): -
- Robert (10/5): - Tent, restaurant en buitenverblijf waren heel netjes en schoon. Personeel was heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het eten was fantastisch. Niets
- Ton (8/5): -
- daniel (9/5): - Good location, nice staff. The food - they do try, very nice serving, but the outcome is OK.
- Susann Marx (9/5): -
- Cornelia (10/5): - Beautiful camp with amazing vieuws over the river Chobe. Friendly staff, all very well organized. Close to Chobe park and Namibië border, location suited us perfectly! Thank you so much! Nothing
- Vilonel (9/5): Felt like home - just better with the view. - Neat, tidy, attention to detail. No dinner on the day we arrived
- Petra (9/5): - Sauberes Grundstück.
hervorragesndes Essen / Frühstück und Dinner (3 gängiges Dinner)
Nette hilfsbereite Gastleute.
Wir hatten ein "Tented" Zimmer. Kein Licht am Waschtisch (Spiegel)
Dusche minimal beleuchtet
- Ondrej (10/5): -

- Lesley (8/5): -
- Floso111 (8/5): Gut für einen Besuch im Chobe - Schön angelegte Anlage. Traumhafter Ausblick auf den Chobe river. Abendessen ok.
- Linda (10/5): - Great location. Fantastic staff and management…. Will definitely return…
- Boris (10/5): - Comfortable rooms, very friendly and competent staff. Game drive and Chobe River cruise organized by the lodge highly recommended. Excellent base for excursions along the Chobe River Front. No complaints!
- Mienie (6/5): Comfortable , staff helpful but a bit overrated and pricey for what you get. - All lights , inside and outside ,is on one switch . So lights attract insects.Yellow lights for outside seating will be better. Waterhole now empty , so no feature or attraction.
- Anna-Maria (9/5): -
- Kathrin (9/5): -
- Dave (10/5): Wonderful hosts, great service and views - Well appointment, convenient location on the way to Chobe National Park
Perfect place to stop over and replenish after long drives, should have stayed at least 2 days
The hosts are extremely helpful and accommodating
Highly recommend Great sunsets and wonderful people
- Briget (9/5): -
- Max (10/5): -
- Morgan (2/5): Fine enough place to stay but horrible hosts for activities - Good food and clean facilities. I got a severe head injury and needed to go to the hospital during one of the safari drives hosted by Mwandi. Driver told us he’s been asking them for seatbelts and first aid kits but they ignore… when we returned back they had no concern and when I followed up and asked them if they could create an incident report so I can submit to my insurance the activities we missed they ignored all my messages. It’s a fine place to stay but DO NOT book activities through them. They definitely are looking to maximize their dollar and happy to take shortcuts. Just as an FYI I am young and active with no existing health issues so this was a very preventable injury. It feels like a very slimy operation… I would recommend booking with local hosts instead (this couple is Australian).
- Ronda (9/5): Comfortable safari tents with pool, bar and great view. - Great staff, very accommodating, delicious food, lovely sunset from the poolside patio Limited wifi
- Ronald (9/5): -
- Francois (8/5): Very relaxed stay - Great location and access from main tar road.
Great view from deck/restaurant over wetland. Water was starting to flow in. Game viewing at night from deck onto waterhole is great with floodlight. Great swimming pool. Excellent food, very well prepared and presented. Compliments to the chef. Friendly and helpful staff Nothing, just a lot of sand on our carpet in our room when walking barefoot. As n norm we take off our shoes when entering a cabin or chalet, otherwise all good
- Carlos (10/5): Beautiful and safe place with access to amazing game drives. - As we were travelling with our daughters we stayed in two separate tents that were very comfortable and had everything we needed. The place is set away from towns and villages and surrounded by nature, which you hear at night, particularly hyenas. It has a water hole where hippos como to drink at night, which is a great sight. The night sky was also amazing with very clear views of the Milky Way. We were not cooking so we ate all our meals at the restaurant which were very good, even though we might have gained a kilo or two. However, the highlight of our stay were the safari game drives that we did in Chobe and Savuti, where our guide, Lucky, was able to spot and get very close to multiple animals, including lions and a leopard. Thank you so much! The only thing missing was a taste of local Botswanan food but I understand that this might not be for everyone.
- NormLan (10/5): Comfortable family "glamping" in a rustic location - We enjoyed our stay in the family unit! This is a "glamping" experience and we thought it was a good balance of comfort, hospitality and rustic location. Amelia was very helpful and flexible in constructing our itinerary to Chobe and Savuti. Our guide/driver Lucky was amazing, ask for him by name. Meals were tasty and varied. Another highlight is the water trough right outside the dining veranda, which attracts hippos and other animals nightly. Overall, highly recommended! Wifi didn't quite reach the family tent however it's fast near lobby
- gil (10/5): - This is the good place, the staff is very sympatic
And the wildlife very near.
- susanne (8/5): -
- Griet (10/5): Stunning!! - The hosts are such lovely people! They arranged a day trip for us to the Vic falls which was worth it. The lodge is beautiful. The accomodation is very clean and was perfect for our 4 day stay. We will be back. Everything was great!!
- Howard (7/5): A good overnight stop, or for a couple od days visiting chobe - location, grounds, layout. Friendly owners. Accomodation was sliightly careworn
Personligt.
- Winfried (10/5): Hippos und Elefants - Essen Tip top - Show am Wasserloch einmalig!
- wayne (7/5): -
- Pascal (9/5): -
- Klaus Michael (2/5): beware - dogs in the pool and unprofessional management - Dinner was very good, staff was pleasant (except the owners), it was generally clean and tidy (except the pool - see under negatives) The owners lack professional attitude towards the guests. On our first night we were the only ones who had dinner and were seated at the prime spot where you had the best view of the water hole. On our second night we realized that our table had been moved to the back and a different group (3 people) were granted our spot. This group only stayed for one night but anyway. Well, this is not something you expect, being downgraded but we quickly came up with a suggestion: we wanted to sit outside on the terrace like literally 10metres away. There we could have enjoyed the views (and we had seen another guest doing this the night before). The owner very rudely told us that we could not sit outside because of the bugs (there were no bugs). I insisted that this would be our choice and completely our responsibility of course should we not be able to enjoy our dinner - for whatever reason. But the owner again told us like schoolchildren (me 55, my wife 44) to sit down in the restaurant. Then she went into the bar area where we could overhear her telling her husband about it - and both laughing and mocking us.
Another thing: the owner let their two dogs go into the pool. When I was inside. I have no more words for this. He told me that their dogs needed cooling off. Yes, he should build them a plunge pool but not let them into the pool where a guest is. Totally unacceptable.
The next morning a staff asked him if he could go to the hospital because he was not feeling well. The owner told him to go on his day off instead.
All in all it is a nice property that needs another management. Let's hope you can quickly go back to Australia and sell this business fast as you so desperately wish to do. Hospitality business needs other people who understand that their guests are not naughty relatives who come for a visit to their home. A good indicator is also the way people respond to negative reviews. For this property replies are usually snotty.
- Wu (10/5): - Loved the facilities of the tents which include ensuite, microwave and kitchen. There's a nice campsite available as well. Mosquito nets also available for use.
There's a beautiful waterhole on the property and even saw elephants and hippos at night.
Amelia and Antoine were most welcoming.
- PHILIPPA (10/5): Peaceful, very lovely engaging owners , nice staff , would highly recommend - Tasteful simplicity, fitting in with environment Nothing
- Eddy (10/5): At the end of the road, before getting absorbed in the bush. 😉 - The extraordinary view from either private terrace or observation deck.🤓
The delicious dinner and perfect breakfast.
Anton & Amelia are great hosts and helpfull in every way. At night the elephants didn't came😔
but we can live with that.
- enrico (8/5): -
- Margaret (10/5): Mwandi View Lodge is an excellent choice! - Mwandi View is outstanding and exceptional. Amelia and Anton are excellent hosts who care about their guests and the wildlife that visits their property. They did everything to make our stay enjoyable. Our large tented unit was comfortably furnished, and we were served gourmet meals every evening. On the night drives with Anton we gained a new appreciation of the African environment. Mwandi View Lodge is off the beaten track, which makes it very special. Highly recommended! Nothing.
- Monika (9/5): - The game at night was exceptional and accommodation very good!
- Karel (9/5): -
- Correen (10/5): One of the highlights of our trip. We will definitely be back - The friendliness of the hosts, superb food and beautiful view. Excellent location.
- Ramon (10/5): Excellent stay - Everything! Nothing!
Es gibt alles, was man braucht.
- Andrew (10/5): Magical Mwandiview - This is a perfect location to stay before or after Savuti. The owners were lovely, and very passionate about the animals. The tours were well organised, and well run. We especially liked the bush walk. Nothing.
- Gérard (10/5): -
- Ryan (8/5): Mwandi was a very nice stopover for us for a night after many days in the bush. It was comfortable, facilities were grea - Mwandi was a very nice stopover for us for a night after many days in the bush. It was comfortable, facilities were great and the bar and deck are a nice treat with a great view of the waterhole. No complaints - but if we had to be picky, the camping bathrooms are a little small for the number of campsites.
- David (10/5): Mawandi view, a magical stay - We stayed here for two nights and would have extended if we had more time. Antonio and the team did an amazing job at making us feel welcome. They have a fantastic lodge right on the banks of a floodplain. Great bar and restaurant, we did lots of trips with them including, day safari, day walk, and a night safari. In the evening you can sit and watch the sunset with a drink while the elephants, hippos and other wildlife come to the waterhole for a drink. Jst amazing. Definitely a highlight of our trip to bostwana. Nothing
- Heike (9/5): Great game viewing veranda at waterhole ! - The waterhole was just amazing to watch the animals very close from the fire place and veranda.
Elephants, Buffalos and hippos were going and coming throughout the night.
We saw a lion, too !!!
We stayed 4 nights and saw the animals close every night from just after 6 pm !
First night we stayed on the veranda til 3 am next to the fire place watching herds of elephants !
Lucky, the guide took us on a Chobe game tour , which was thrilling ! Close to lions with a kill and he found a leopard for us !!!
Amazing guide with great skills and a wonderful mentality and passion for the animals !
Great and friendly staff !
We loved our stay at Mwandi View and will definetely come back. Meals have to be booked 3 weeks in advance.
No shops close by, so bring your food.
Kichenette has a water kettle and microwave and fridge.
- Deborah (10/5): - Beautiful place - and beautiful tents. We loved it.
