• Kelly (7/5): Decent accommodation - Common spaces are exceedingly clean by hostel standards. Good options for food and drinks which were somewhat decently priced. Great location for food, site seeing, and transit. Sleeping room was small and bare with a grunge feel. It’s standard for a hostel, smaller than average but price did not reflect that. There is no vibe in the bar or common spaces, more small groups or locals that keep to themselves.

• Timothy (10/5): - We had a great time here. Really nice hostel, so clean and well designed. The facilities were great, bathrooms very clean/nice, good rooftop and common area. There is a bar/cafe downstairs, we only tried the coffee there which was lovely, seemed like a nice vibe down there, locals also go there to eat/drink. Staff were so nice. It is social and we were able to chat/drink with other travellers in the common areas, but is not a party hostel. The private twin room although a bit small made very good use of space and was very functional and comfortable. Also great location, right by Kuramae metro station, good restaurants in area, very close to 7/11 and familymart, short 15 mins walk to Asakusa Nothing

• Hermione (9/5): Overall I had a wonderful stay at Nui hostel and would definitely stay here again. - Really friendly staff and relaxed bar/cafe area. The communal areas were regularly cleaned and the common room was a nice space to meet other guests. I loved the postcard with a picture of the hostel on it! The bed in the economy double room took up most of the space. Some more room for my suitcase would have been helpful.

Frühstück und das Café, was später dann zur Bar wird, sind auch super. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wiedergekommen, da es auch perfekt gelegen ist, um alles in Tokyo gut - und für Tokyo-Verhältnisse relativ schnell - zu erreichen. Die Unterkunft ist sehr hellhörig, man hört nachts die Türen klicken, daher Ohropax mitnehmen - Wird sonst auch jedem bei Check-in gegeben.

• choi (10/5): 최고의 호스텔 - 위치 역 근처. 아사쿠사나 우에노쪽 걸어갈만한 거리. 시설 깨끗. 틈틈이 청소하시고, 2층 혼성 도미토리 숙박 기준 화장실이나 샤워실 대기줄 있었던 적 없음. 침대도 좋고 커튼가림막도 좋아서, 2층 배정되었는데도 기절잠잤음. 2층 공용공간에서 게스트랑 토킹하는것도 재밌음. 일단 인사 질러보면 금방 친해짐. 저는 괜찮았는데 잠귀 밝은 친구는 몇시간 못잠. 침대 윗층이라서 사다리 오르내리기 귀찮음. 이건 1층 배정받으면 되는데 랜덤.

• Vanesa (10/5): Maravillosa estadía - Me gustó mucho el lugar, cercano al metro, al río Sumida, ambiente tranquilo y la facilidad de comer y beber algo exquisito ahí mismo. Todo muy bien pensado, lugar cómodo, limpio y con personal muy agradable. Me costó acostumbrarme al uso de chapas de ese estilo.

• Gregory (10/5): My favorite place to stay in Tokyo. - It’s a comfortable place with great staff, and fun guests. I stay there every time I’m in Tokyo. It’s an hour from either Haneda or Narita airport by normal train. The breakfast, brunch and dinner options are just right, and the bar and cafe are outstanding. I always sleep so well on their beds! Other people have found out about it, it can be difficult to book sometimes.

• Marceline (8/5): Sympa mais cher pour ce lieux à cette période. - Ambiance sympa dans le bar, petite restauration possible et délicieux cheese cake. Bien situé, à côté de la rivière pour ceux qui aime aller courrir ou juste se promener. Station de métro Kuramae proche. Allez voir le Denboin Garden et son Temple et le quatier Asakusa et la Kappabashi kitchen street. Avons échangé avec d'autres voyageurs dans les locaux communs de l'hotel, le bar étant achri bondé. C'est une auberge avec wc et douche commune, avons séjourné dans une chambre avec lit supperposé, très cher payé... Le manque de respect d'autres voyageurs, bruit la nuit et état des lieux après leurs passage douche et WC. Et le prix!

Appreciated the women only bathroom facilities on level 4 Really good sushi place around the corner Rooms were very small. Unisex bathrooms got quite messy through the day.

• Jeff (8/5): Overall very pleasant and restful and was good place to stay in Tokyo - The place was clean, quiet and the services offered were nice. For me it was a little far from anything. Walking 15-20mins or taking the train was essential to get anywhere of interest.
• Kim (9/5): Ideale uitvalsbasis om Tokyo te verkennen - Zeer goeie en toch rustige ligging. Mooie hostel, leuke bar. Goed gedeeld sanitair Ontbijt inbegrepen is maar half inbegrepen. Slechts 1000 yen is inbegrepen. Koffie en de rest moet je opleggen. Prijzen cafe zijn niet laag (zeker niet voor een hostel). Wel lekker!

If you're expecting some privacy, I'd recommend to choose a proper hotel. The price was very expensive for the small room without a bathroom.

A les fotos no s’aprecia però en les habitacions particulars el llit doble toca a ambdues parets i amb una tauleta i la porta no hi ha espai ni per obrir una maleta petita. Personal molt sec. El servei de bar deixa molt per desitjar. Poc professional.

• Julieta (7/5): - El bar de abajo es muy lindo, siempre musica tranqui y con gente, la ubicacion esta buena, si bien esta lejos del centro tenes varios trenes cerca y esta muy cerca del río podes caminar por ahi es muy lindo. Las camas de arriba están muy cerca del techo, no te dan toallas, las luces en la habitación se apagan muy tarde a las 23:30 y si estás en la cama de arriba te da directo, no podes dormir. El ascensor es bien lento.

• Daniela (8/5): Hostel Superior - Der herzlichste Empfang schon beim Betreten des Hostels. Super stylische Location mit minimalistischem Flair, sehr gemütlich und deutlich komfortabler, als man es von Hostels gewohnt ist. Ruhige Lage – perfekt als Gegenpol zu den touristischen Hotspots. Zudem sehr gute Anbindung an die U-Bahn. Absolut empfehlenswert.

• Eddie (7/5): in great location - Great hostel in a cool location in Tokyo. The overall vibe is really cool. The cafe/bar was great. Fantastic coffee! The experience with the staff was a bit inconsistent, some were really friendly, others were quite rude. Didn’t feel very welcoming at times. Quite different to their other hostel location where I’ve had nothing but good experiences.

• Risa (9/5): 安くて綺麗、ありがたいドミトリー - 決め手は女性用ドミトリーがあることでした。完全にプライベート空間を得るのは難しいですが、カーテンが四方にあり十分快適でした。ロッカーの鍵も受付で貸してもらえたので、貴重品を置いてシャワールームに行くこともできました。シーツは自分でセットするタイプで、少々面倒ですが逆に清潔感を感じられて良かったです。安さを考えれば十分すぎる設備、綺麗さです。 階下のカフェスペースで作業ができるかと期待していましたが、カフェ自体がかなり混んでいて短時間しかいられませんでした。共有スペースの階があるものの狭いので他に誰かいると使いにくさはありました
• Spark1999 (10/5): Can a hostel be too wonderful? - Can a hostel be too wonderful? Nui. Hostel is really great. I've only stayed in US and European hostels, and I'm told that Japanese hostels are a cut above, but this hostel is amazing. You could eat off the bathroom floors. Shared rooms have curtains around the bed for privacy. Towels, locks, house shoes/slippers, shampoo, conditioner and body wash, face wipes and q-tips are included. The female bathroom has a Japanese soaking tub (also super clean) which lets you soak away a hard day on your feet. The fully stocked kitchen has free tea and coffee (high quality instant). The lounge/kitchen is really lovely, with sophisticated lighting making up for a lack of windows (by the way, you can turn off the insipid muszak -- controls are over the top of the fridge). Be sure and take your coffee to the roof to admire the view of the river. In theory the roof is closed till 10 am, probably because there are rooms just underneath, so be quiet. As if this wasn't enough, the bar downstairs serves all the espresso drinks, western breakfast, lunch and dinner, beer on tap and cocktails 8am-10:30pm (drinks till 12:30). The bar is really popular with locals, but that doesn't allow you to mingle…the Japanese clientele show up in groups for a special occasion, not really “hanging out”. The location is awesome. Near Senso-Ji Temple, crafts museum, kitchenware street, Sumida river, boat rides, and the million shopping streets around the temple. In a very quiet neighborhood, although if you search there's ice cream, bakeries, tekayaki, etc within a few blocks. The problem is that it's so comfortable, and the bar is so tempting, that you are likely to spend too much time in the hostel, nesting, drinking western coffee, eating excellent western food, and drinking local beer, talking to English speaking expats instead of exploring Japan. A small negative is that the hostel staff also serve formally as matre di for the bar…they are a little more formal and a little less chatty about Tokyo, so they aren't as good a source of recommendations as hostel staff usually are. When I return to Tokyo, I'll probably try and find a less impressive and more Japanese lodging. But if I bring my mom it will be Nui. all the way.

• LostAndyTravel (8/5): Fails its own hype, but has some really strong positives - Nui is a great hostel, but it doesn't live up to its legendary reputation. First, it feels like a hostel attached to a restaurant. The hostel is certainly nice, but you feel like you come in second place to the people dining downstairs. Every time I had to interact with someone who worked there (with the exception of one of the guys who was super nice), I felt like I was distracting them from their jobs at the restaurant. Second, there's a critical lack of common space. There's a lounge on the second floor that's *okay* I suppose, but there's not a single comfortable seat in it. For that, you have to go downstairs... and shell out money for a meal. I want to add that they've eliminated the lounge on the top floor for storage. Big mistake. Lastly, location, which is horrible. I wish I could drop F-bombs here. It's awful. Yes, it's near Senso-ji — but you go there once and snap a photo? It's a wasteland otherwise, and you'll burn a huge amount of time on the metro. Nui has plenty of upsides. The rooms are incredibly comfortable. The place is so clean I could perform surgery on the floor. It's quiet at night, so the sleep is delicious. The restaurant — if you feel like paying the price — is really good. The wifi was remarkably fast. Incredibly, the place was also was somewhat social, a rarity in Japan.

• Falzarano (10/5): My stay at Nui was better than expected! - I loved everything about Nui. The location was great. The atmosphere was great. Facility was incredibly clean. There was nothing I didn’t like about it. I would for sure recommend to anyone and I will be coming back.

• Ela Cruz (9/5): Spacious, clean, and hip! - I love the place, it's very clean and they have everything you need. I stayed for a couple of nights at the female only dorm, it was spacious and clean especially the female only bathrooms. The dorms had about 8 people per room only so it was never crowded too. The lounge is also great for working in remotely, it has many plugs and the wifi is fast. The hostel is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood by the river, and it's also right next to a great lunch place (highly recommended to try when you stay here). It's very near Kuramae station (Asakusa Line), I'm definitely staying here again! It's not a bad thing at all but the cafe can get very, very busy during lunch. During this time, it's a little hard to get in touch with staff. I had to ask for towels and I walked through a crowd of people which I personally didn't like, I wish towels were just available at every floor so we can avoid going down to the reception every single time. Plus they don't have much space to store your luggage in, they keep it in front of the elevator where everyone (including non-guests) can have access to it.
