• June (9/5): Super popular place, so good to book very early! - It was my first time staying in a dorm room and I'm glad I gave it a try here. The location was very good, water shower was strong, there's storage space for luggage under the bed, and the whole place was very cosy. All the lights seem to be yellow lights which made reading a bit difficult. Have to keep pressing the shower button otherwise water will stop.

• Marc (10/5): Cozy Place - Cozy hotel with a great and huge common room. Free Sake and cheap snacks to buy are available. Friendly staff. Eversthing was clean and quite comfortable. Great place to chill for several days! Check in only until 8. Would be nice if self check in would be possible until 10.

A localização é ótima, super próxima da estação e de uma loja de conveniência. A anfitriã foi um pouco grosseira - acredito que pode ter sido uma questão de tradução.
• Hadar (1/5): Will not recommend for anyone other than backpackers - One of the worst experiences I had during my long trip to Japan. They did not provide towels and dis not let you know in advance. I discovered that very late at night while the front desk was closed. The next morning the lady at the front desk was very rude and unkind and did not even apologize. They dis not reply to a single message I sent them through booking. Other than that, the walls are paper thin and the common areas are not the cleanliest. The location and price were great though. • Mia (10/5): Home - Cozy house vibes. It actually felt like a family was hosting me. Massive kitchen. So many appliances. I could easily stay there for over a week. Many showers, bathrooms and sinks so I didn’t have to worry about rushing in there or them being occupied. They also offer a discount for a tattoo friendly onsen which is within a minute walk. Fantastic after a long hike. I stayed in a dormitory on the upper bed. It was super hard to get in and out of

• Tanyew (5/5): Pretty on the outside - Very clean overall and nice interior. Great kitchen and amenities. Good location with a nice Onsen nearby. Not very welcoming hosts. They were super polite but continuously made us aware about the rules, which were plenty and some arguably unreasonable. After staying for 2 nights we had to leave the building right after check out while there was a blizzard outside. We were traveling on our bicycles and obviously had no other place to go. When we asked for an exception, we were allowed a maximum of 30 minutes extra. There was plenty of space in the common area but 'rules are the rules'. Don't stay here if you want a warm 'backpacker vibe' or need to kill some time after check out.
• Blas (9/5): Definitely recommend - Location is great, walking distance from the Aso station where the bus depart to Aso crater. Konbini nearby. Big shared space to eat and great kitchen with all you need to cook. Books to read even in English. Rooms were great very clean, very convenient. I felt at ease here. Many people but very respectful about the noise. You can leave your luggage before check in. Everything was great
• Moriah (8/5): Clean, Comfortable Room in a Great Location - Free on-site parking lot. Great location and a comfortable private room. Staff were helpful and the shared spaces were extremely clean and organized. There are no towels provided, so you must rent them for a very small cost. The showers have limited time nozzles, so you have to keep pushing the handle while you shower. The walls are very thin, so you can even hear people walking back and forth in the morning.

• Amy (8/5): Beautiful hostel but staff lacked warmth. - It’s really cute, quirky and makes you feel like you are home. Lawson round the corner. Not many restaurants/cafes nearby. The staff made the place feel a little cold and lacked warmth. They were very strict with leaving as soon as you checked out and not being there before you check in. Other hostels in Japan have been a little more accommodating.

• Guillermo (1/5): Rudeness - The kitchen was okay and the other guests were nice. I have been traveling for six consecutive months, and honestly, this is the place where I have been treated the worst by far. From the moment we arrived, I had the feeling that we were not welcome. Everything is about rules and rudeness. The pinnacle moment was at checkout, which is at 10:30 AM, but at 10:33 AM, with our backpacks already outside, I returned the key. With much condescension, they told me that if it wasn't clear, the checkout time was at 10:30 AM and that I should leave the building immediately. We couldn't use the common areas, bathroom, kitchen, or anything. Fortunately, they let me retrieve some bananas that were in the fridge. To top it off, right at the entrance, there is a shoe cabinet that smells terribly of feet. The smell is truly excessive. Honestly, if you don't like people, it would be better not to open a business that deals with the public. I wish I had paid attention to the reviews that warned about this; I thought it wouldn't be that bad.
• Alison (9/5): Superb - The guesthouse was extremely clean and had great facilities. It's close to Aso train/ bus station so it's in a great location for visiting Mt Aso. It might be helpful to know before arriving that you cannot access the guesthouse before check-in at 4pm and after checkout at 10:30am. There's a luggage storage room with lockers so it's not an issue though.

• Stephen (1/5): I would NOT recommend staying here. - This is a very nice house. It is clean. The kitchen is very nice and has everything you could need. There is a covered bike parking area and a safe place to keep your large bags while you’re there. The host were just miserable people. Especially the man. They were very unhelpful when I messaged them via the app prior to arrival and offered to cancel for free, rather than answer my simple question. Once I arrived, there was no welcome. The front door is locked, so you have to ring the bell to get in. The owner can to unlock the door, then walked away without a greeting. After I came in and removed my shoes, I entered the house through the already open genkan door and left it the way I found it. The man was very rude to me about leave the door open, although that is the way I left it. If he greeted me and was there to tell me, it would not have happened. Very rude. Later that night around 2100 while I was sleeping, he came in the dorm and turned the lights on and talked loudly to check in a new guest. I was disrespected by them multiple times.
• Kian (9/5): Superb - Very clean and comfortable hostel in a great location. The shared kitchen space was lovely, and the rooms were quiet and cosy.
• Feng-shuo (10/5): Excellent staff with convenient public transportation - The staff is friendly and helpful to answer all the questions you might have. The location is near the train stations, which is easy to take the public transportation. The common area is where you can meet and chat other travelers and share your stories with each others. You can also put your luggages into the safe place even after checking out. There is no public bath inside the building. You can either go to the nearby public bath or take the shower in the shared bathrooms on the second floor of the building.

• Andy (7/5): Great location - Extremely clean and well run hostel but don't expect a friendly welcome. This hostel is run by strict rules which for me gave me bad vibes. Don't expect to be let in before 4pm However they have an excellent outdoor room where you can leave your luggage with small lockers (20Y) to put your valuables in. Shower tap has to be nudged every 5 seconds for water to flow. Owners did not smile however were helpful when asked. The owners did not smile and there were too many rules.

• Mv (10/5): Exceptional - This is one of the most charming, cleanest, safest, and friendliest backpacking hostels I've ever stayed at. The staff was so helpful and obliging. The beds were clean and the storage secure. I stayed here on a whim after forgetting to plan one night's stay, and I'm so glad I did! I would visit again. There was nothing I was unhappy about. This was the same price per night as a hostel I stayed at in Osaka, and this place was FAR better. I'd recommend it to any solo traveler.
