Guest Reviews
- 238deepp (10/5): Amazing - The hotel and rooms are amazing. Beds are very comfortable and size of the rooms are huge. It was just perfect for me. I will stay again.
- Gilliland (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gustavo (10/5): - Never a problem when I go, amazing and easy to stay at.
- Karina (4/5): It was ok - I like that it was clean The pool was closed and the elevators were out of service
- Sheldon (10/5): The stay was challenging. - All was great but was not informed that the elevator was out until we arrived. Both my brother and I are over 60 and have physical ailments, and walking up two flights of stairs were a bit of a challenge at best. Had our stay been more than one day I would have changed locations all together. The elevator was out.
- Marcela (10/5): - The stay and breakfast was good. The only thing was that we didn't have hand soap and I had to go down stairs for the blankets to uae with the sofa bed. Other than that, it was good.
- Julene (2/5): Very poor - N/A Carpet in room appeared damp. Mushrooms found growing out of floor in room.
- William (7/5): Room was good except gor the coffee pot! - 1. Coffee pot malfunctioned and made a mess!
2. Although a menu board identified numerous breakfast selections, the reality was that there were few options actually available. There were no eggs, biscuits or fruits and the sausage was ice cold?
3. Bags if garbage intended for the dumpster were left by the front door all morning?
- nakeshav (2/5): Mushrooms Growing out of the Carpet!!! - I reserved this accessible room from 7/3/25 - 7/7/25. Me and my mom checked in on 7/3. She is partially paralyzed of the legs. On the morning of 7/3, moved a coffee table in the sitting room to make sure that my mom can sit in the couch and discovered that a cluster of mushrooms were growing out of the floor underneath the air conditioner! I took some photos and reported the findings to the front desk, Hailey. She let me know that there was only one accessible room in the hotel and that she will find out from her manager if they could provide similar accommodations at a nearby hotel. Approximately 40 minutes later, the housekeeper saw me in the elevator and told me to go see the front desk. Haley told me that she spoke to her hotel manager named Jessica about the situation and that Jessica said that they cannot accommodate me at a nearby location and that they have provided me with a refund. I let them know that I did not see a refund in any of my accounts. And I did not receive an email saying that a refund was being processed. I also asked for a formal letter explaining that my room was canceled for a health concern, and that they were not able to further accommodate me. The hotel manager said that she was not able to provide me with a formal letter. I was then given the corporate number for Best Western but denied to receive the email address. I called corporate who was not able to provide me with any other accommodating options to help me out with my situation. They also were not willing to accommodate me at another hotel. When I asked if they could find out if I can just get another room in the same hotel that was not accessible, they claimed that they already processed the refund and that I will have to pay out-of-pocket. I can let them know that I did not receive a email confirming a refund, and that a refund was not reflected in any of my accounts, and that I did not receive a phone call from anyone and giving me any information about a refund. I called my third-party booking and they claim that they do not have a refund request on file. I am now left stranded with my disabled mother all the way in Houston coming from New York. This hotel needs to be investigated for health concerns and for mismanagement. I’m going to see if I can attach photos of the mushrooms growing out of the floor.
- Hortense (8/5): Pleasant stay - The hotel was conveniently located and clean. Breakfast was good and staff was nice.
- Gerardo (10/5): Exceptional -
- brooklynne (2/5): - the bathroom was disgusting and had stuff growing and grime all in it took a shower and still felt dirty the toilet cover didn’t fit the toilet either. The bed was lumpy and the night stands had rust all over them.
- Miranda (2/5): - Room was dirty when we got there, we found a rat in the pool while we were enjoying it!! Power went out over night so it was hot in the room and the elevators weren't working and of course No breakfast. The side entrances weren't available so therefore the parking lot was crowded and hard to park and access.
- Nicole (8/5): - Will stay again for another weekend trip.
- Manuel A (10/5): - Very clean place
- DAVID (8/5): - Quiet, clean and comfortable. But, Exercise room had equipment issues, like elliptical not working.
- Tiffany (10/5): Good experience - Easy to get to everything around A microwave would have been convenient in the room
- Santana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jacob (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jacob (9/5): Superb -
- Daniel (8/5): - Nice place.
- Tamara (6/5): I will stay again because of the bed was so comfy.. and I always clean my own room - Beds was very comfortable. The bathroom was not cleaned. Hair was in the shower and floor was not cleaned.
- Ofrencina (10/5): - Excellent
- Cole (9/5): Superb -
- Kimberly (6/5): - At check in I was not properly charged. My booking was paid for and the staff tried to charge me again. Finally I gave my credit card for $75 incidentals. I got to my room and noticed another charge of $24.98. The phone in the room didn't work and the tv only had analog channels...no cable, no nothing. The next morning I checked out but staff could not explain other charge of $24.98. I know that's a not a big deal, but I just don't like charges put on my card that can't be explained. I was told that it would be removed.
- Eva (5/5): One Night Stay After Cruise - Hotel in close proximity to event we were attending Hotel has seen better days. The breakfast buffet was horrible, the bed was lumpy, walls dirty, desk chair had worn out arm rests, couch was itchy and you sank when seated.
- April (8/5): Very good -
- Stovall (9/5): Superb -
- Sara (4/5): - mold in restroom and didn't get garbage all week and no fresh towels.
my husband got us some fresh towels and the wash clothes was dirty like they were cleaning rags
- Tiffany (4/5): - That room were not clean mostly bath room shower curtain was very dirty and bathroom door. The little refrigerator smelled like old food
- Heather (8/5): - Lacking a bit in the breakfast department.
Nice room
- BRIANA (4/5): - The hotel smelled like mildew and there were signs of bed bugs. The staff was great though!
- Marilyn (10/5): - Seems like a nice 1 night stop over property.
- Erica (2/5): Very poor - Location Everything. Breakfast was mediocre
Room wasn’t clean
Towels were not white
Floor smelled like wet carpet
- Ramon (8/5): Very good -
- Janee (6/5): - Over all the stay was ok for one night. We were barely at the hotel but the fridge in the room didn’t work and hadn’t been cleaned. It seemed it was leaking as there was water stains on the floor and water by the bathroom door from the leak. It also has an awful smell. We didn’t report it because we weren’t going to use it. The bed wasn’t made that well and it looked like there has been cosmetic repairs all over the hotel that weren’t done that well . The front desk employees were nice and helpful. Also the trash was full outside and the grass needed to be mowed. We chose this hotel because it was the cheapest with a breakfast and for one night it wasn’t that bad for the price
- Valentina (4/5): - …
- Samuel (10/5): Great Value! - The night staff was very friendly and helpful.
- Rob (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amanda (10/5): I will be back. Staff was amazing - Quiet location close to family Flat pillows. Squeeky bed
- Deborah (9/5): Superb -
- Juanita (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Absolutely terrible! We arrived about 9 pm. Excited to get your room on 3rd floor. There were 5 of us two adults and our 3 children. After check in we went up to our room. We walked in to a hot, humid room. So humid the couch felt wet. I lowered the temp & decided to ask for another room. Went down and the front desk attendant said she could move me to the 2nd floor. Ok great! She keeps keys, and gives me new one. I go back up to get my family. My oldest was in the bathroom. While we grab suitcase etc I’m talking to my husband about the situation, I turn around think my daughter is coming out if bathroom so we can go to our new room and suddenly the front desk attendant is in our room! She didn’t knock. She came right in maybe 4- 5 minutes after I entered. Walked right in. Never apologizing! She said she came in to check on the things I was concerned about.. she starts touching the couch, and checking the beds. It was odd! She could have waited til we switched rooms. THEN we go to new room & oh my goodness! Stuffy, smelly, the couch was broken, the carpet was jacked up in some spots, no blankets for pull out bed, the mattress was awful! Rust on light fixtures, paint drip dried on tub and walls, possible mold or mildew on ceiling!! No shampoo only conditioner, no blow dryer. We hated it. Breakfast wasnt great, no trays to carry food up. When we loaded the car to leave there were tiny black ants all in our vehicle. Nothing like the pictures online!
- Connie (4/5): - We ask for fresh towels never came so got them our selves roaches in bathroom.Breakfast terrible Waffle batter everywhere including floor.People above us so noisy could not take nap Same way Saturday night Could not sleep till after sounded like they were fighting Would appreciate full refund.Did not have money to waste on room
- Eva (7/5): Weekend Say - The hotel has always been one of our top choices when staying in Bay City. The room had a pretty strong musty odor and was humid. We thought at first it was due to not being occupied but the odor lingered and it was more of a mildew smell whether from the A/C or previous water damage to room.
- Imelda (10/5): - The stay was great but I do think best western can really give this facility a face Lyft. It’s clean and nice but towels in the pool area and even she shower room aren’t available and just the little fixtures. Other than that great stay and friendliest people!
- shannonlT5149RS (10/5): Amazing - My room was just perfect, very comfortsble. My room was clean!! Staff was so friendly, I was given two bottle of water free for being a Gold member and did not even know I was Gold!! perfect distance to my venue too!! The breakfast was delicious! I absolutely enjoyed this visit!
- Glenn (10/5): - Woo hoo
- Vickey (8/5): Very good -
- Adventure109057 (4/5): Very Disappointed - For starters, there was no telephone in our room or tissues. Went to ask the front desk clerk and she couldn't find any. The breakfast offering was paltry. The coffee machine wasn't working properly, the refrigerators were broken - no yogurt or fruit out except for apples. One pan of eggs mixed with meat, no sweet rolls nothing to eat. This definitely is not up to Best Western Plus standards, for me this was a minus.
- Joseph (10/5): Best western saved my trip - Quick and easy check in
- Oralia (10/5): - .
- Abel (4/5): - We’re outside till about 11 and will make a lot of noise and people were up and slamming doors till like 2 o’clock in the morning was very difficult to sleep. No ice on the course floor. Employees on their phones
- FarAway55063153541 (2/5): Toilet Repair is not a Priority - Upon getting into the room just before 5 PM, I used the toilet and attempted to flush. The toilet's flush handle was not attached to anything, as a result, the toilet did not flush. I notified the front desk, she said she would report it to maintenance. Went to dinner, toilet is still in the same state with fecal and urine in it. Realizing that this repair, even offering to move me, was not a priority - I checked out the next morning. I am still being charged for two nights. Either charge for the one night, or give me a full refund.
- Ming (10/5): - Great
- Albert (10/5): A Happy customer - The front desk attendant was very helpful and kind. The breakfast was great and the hotel cleaning staff was amazing.
- Yanely (10/5): - Very Good
- Steve (2/5): - Rooms were dirty , beds not made up , feces in the toilet…… unacceptable!
- Alexander (8/5): - Good location.
- Dennis (8/5): - Good place for an overnight stay!
- Castillo (8/5): Very good -
- Lalita (10/5): It was comfortable and affordable - Cleanliness and the location and the quietness I didn’t like the see through curtains
- Brooke (7/5): Overall, it was a decent stay. I would stay again, affordable and clean. Friendly staff. - The property overall was nice. Very clean, soft pillows. Location is very easy to find. Pool looked nice, we didn’t get to swim due to our other plans. Pretty close to Walmart, HEB, & quite a few restaurants. Dibs that there was a Starbucks less than 5miles down the road. We had 2 light switches that didn’t turn on lights that we were wanting to use. No hand soap, showering soaps in the bathroom. Hope you don’t need more than 2 rolls of toilet paper cause that’s all they provided, well really a roll & half.
- Herman (10/5): Exceptional - Location in town to attend family funeral services. N/A
- Bea (10/5): - Works great to park the boat. Always clean comfortable beds
- Anat (10/5): - Spacious room, cute pool
- Yvette (8/5): Pleasant - The staff was friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. The only drawback was that the room was temperature controlled at 73 degrees. I would have preferred the ability to lower it a couple of degrees cooler, but it was still comfortable.
- Gary (10/5): Matagorda - Excellent hotel, clean and quite
- Woodrow (2/5): One night stay in BC for family funeral. - Check in was slow and the desk clerk was unfriendly. The room door was stuck and hard to open. the furniture surfaces in the room were dirty. The bathroom was in disrepair. The hotel fire alarm went off twice after midnight and there was no fire.. The room phone did not work. The breakfast was very lacking and unsanitary, grounds in the coffee. Will NEVER stay here again! No clerk at check out. They hid in a back room. Nasty!
- Julia (10/5): - Nice
- Tammy (10/5): - Very happy with stay
- steven (10/5): - Friendly staff was clean and quiet
- Asad (8/5): - There was smell in the lobby and Breakfast was not good
- Miah (10/5): This was a great location for my friends and I. Front desk was super sweet and helpful. - Everything was nice and clean staff was friendly.
- Brady (10/5): - Room was a great size for two adults and two kids. It’s a great option and we would definitely stay there again!
- Castillo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brandon (2/5): Stupid facilities - The elevator was out of service. We chose to go elsewhere instead of stay on a third level with elderly guests
- Alexander (8/5): - Good location.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Underwhelmed and disappointing room and comfort - Uncomfortable bed, small child size pillows, torn chairs, no sound proof windows. Bring ear plugs.
Minimal breakfast options. The coffee at breakfast was good.
This hotel in in poor condition reconsider staying here if you are looking for comfort and cleanliness.
- Norma (7/5): Most of the stay was ok except for what happened. Bfast didn’t - Most of the staff was friendly & working extra hard cuz short on staff. Manager late, not friendly. Didn’t helped out when sick people called in. Also when we had an issue with younger kids / drugs in front of our door we couldn’t use phone to call & when I used my cell nobody answered the phone. Also cops were never called even after my husband told her what was going on. grandkids were scared after the heard all the commotion. Manager didn’t have uniform & her son & dog was always with her .
- Ana (4/5): - The lady during the day at the front desk was extremely rude!!!!
- Nicole (4/5): Keep driving - The building has been renovated so it appears for the most part it is nice but the beds were so lumpy and uncomfortable that I didn’t stay the second night and the ac didn’t work well so me and my grandkids were hot most of the time so we showered before bed and the water first came out yellow so wasn’t to comfortable bathing the babies in that so just wiped them down with baby wipes .
- Jeffrey (10/5): Perfect hotel choice. - Super clean room. Friendly and helpful staff. Hotel is located in less traffic-ey part of city, making things quieter and actually easier to get to locations in the area. Would certainly stay there again for my next area visit.
- Glenn (10/5): - Ndn
- Kurt (8/5): Repairs - It was a very quick stay but the hotel was nice. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Could tell they were undergoing some repairs/maintenance (definitely needed). Could tell several repairs had been done in room, however not very well. Pillows were cheap and uncomfortable. TV stations were few and Tv had a blue tint. Overall room was clean and comfortable for the short stay.
- Joshua (10/5): - Clean nice property
- Anonymous (10/5): Very satisfied - Convenient location Well maintained
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Customer service has been excellent. Anything I need I have received with a smile. GREAT STAFF! Room is comfortable and clean. I will definitely stay here anytime I come to Bay City.
- Shawn (9/5): I really enjoyed the comfort level and attention - The front office lady that checked me in was super Nothing
- Patrice (7/5): Ok place to stay but not on par with other hotels I’ve stayed at for the cost. - The room was large. The windows were very dirty on the outside. There was hardly any toilet paper. When I told the desk clerk, she brought more up some hours later. The lock latch on the door was missing. Otherwise, it was fine.
- Joshua (8/5): - .
- Brittany (1/5): Bad -
- Ashley (8/5): Very good -
- Christina (10/5): See. Ya again enjoyed our stay completely - Everything There was nothing I didn’t like everything was great
- Guy (1/5): It is not a good place ,Was not happy with the stay, on bookings.com. It said it was a three or four star hotel in bayci - Location, We moved to 3 different rooms before we got a better room. The place overall is not clean. They had just spray bug spray all over . The toilet seat was wet in the first room, and then the toilet itself would not work. It was not clean the work towels hanging that had stains or they were just dirty hanging up as clean ones. You could see stains in the mattress through the sheets. we were moved to the second room and it had just been sprayed with bug spray in the room was not clean. The furniture was ripped up and the first room and the second room. The TV screens were blue. We were then moved to a third room, which at that time I was ready to Lose my money and go to a different hotel. My wife said we don’t want to lose our money so let’s see if they can give us a better room. We went to a different room. We stayed there. It was not the cleanest either. I went down the next morning for breakfast, there was not very much selection of anything. Overall up and down the halls, the carpet was dirty. The coffee pot still had old coffee pods in it. My wife asked the manager if they did periodic inspections of the room or not and I don’t believe they were. As simple as asking the desk attendant what channel do you find the guide on for the TV and they had no idea, they said, just keep flipping through the channels.
- jessicaadaway (10/5): Wedding Weekend - The Hotel and rooms were emasculate! Beds were very comfortable, and size of rooms are perfect! I will stay there again. Breakfast was above average of other hotel lines. My family and I were there for a Wedding of my niece, so we had 4 rooms total and were able to be put on the same floor which was very nice. Only issue I saw was there was not an ice machine on each floor. One on the 1st floor was broken, 2nd floor did not have one and the only ice machine for guests was located on the 3rd floor which is inconvenient for 1st and 2nd floor guest.
- Misti (8/5): - Friendly front desk clerk, big rooms and clean
- sflahertylrcot (2/5): Worse Stay in a Best Western Ever - The hotel was affordable, but quality was horrible. I guess you get what you pay for. Advertised breakfast from 6:00 - 09:00, but first day they were out of food by 0700. Second day they had eggs, but they were inedible. Third day I ate out. On third night there had to change rooms due to ant infestation on my bed. I am a fan of the Best Western chain, but would never stay at this one again.
- wilburnrogers (10/5): my Stay - Overall a great place to stay. My room was extremely comfortable, the price was good and the Hotel Staff were the best. My room was kept clean and the Hotel was quiet and peaceful. The amenities that were provided were good.
- Tansy (4/5): Our stay was pretty disappointing, overall. - The location The elevators were hot and not functioning properly. Our floor’s hallway was very hot and breakfast was cold, tasteless and there was very little of it. (We came down to eat @ 7:30AM) The cream cheese and half and half were also expired. (Curdy and sour)
