Guest Reviews
- Michael (8/5): Convenient for south Cambridge - Good place to stay for south Cambridge. Rooms are fairly compact, heating was a bit erratic in that too hot in the evening and none in the morning. Breakfast was good but it would be nice to have some fruit
- paul (4/5): - How room was very dated and had a bad smell and drains in room were blocked had a toilet and the remains came up the shower drain hole
Not nice and breakfast was cold
- Anne (6/5): - Restaurant/pub seemed very nice and great (inclusive) breakfast with friendly host. Right in the centre of the village. Lots of parking.
But the rooms were dated and although bedding and sink/loo were clean the rest of the room wasn't particularly clean which was a bit disappointing.
Steps up to room were quite tricky for my elderly mother - would have been good to be warned about this.
- Dan Alexander (8/5): Hotel was ok, the Restaurant Bar was top class. - The rooms where at best average. The ar Restaurant side of the business however was a totally different story. Yoi felt like the staff wanted to be there, they worked to a high standard, the food was delivered on time, professionally and was a great standard, the bar and eating area was spotless and done in good taste.
It’s a shame the hotel side wasn’t to the same standard
- Gemma (10/5): - Clean and tidy rooms, great evening dinner. Pizza's particularly good fresh and very tasty.
- GERARD (4/5): - Nothing
- Lee (2/5): - Very noisy Road didn't get any sleep very nice and friendly staff would not recommend anybody to stay if they want a good night sleep
- Michael (8/5): - Our room was cosy
- colin (8/5): - Nice friendly staff Rooms are getting aged
- Neeraj (2/5): Avoid at all cost - The worst room ever from hotels.com. It was so bad that I had to move to another hotel and I lost the booking money on top of my new hotel fee. Description is absolutely misleading. It is listed as Superior room (Large room). If this is superior, I can only imagine what would be a standard room. Shower is just enough for you to barely fit in. size of wash basin was smallest that you can get in the market. Wifi connectivity was negligible. Noisy pipes made sleeping awful at night. Windows and doors worn out, locking the room needed special skill and furniture and linen was awful.
- Kelly (2/5): Appalling - There was no one there to greet me, the whole pub was closed, luckily there was a guest staying there that spotted a key under a pot and directed me to the rooms, I wouldnt have found the key or rooms otherwise. If that was your plan then you should have called, if the friendly lady wasnt there i wouldn't have found the key or the room. It states on hotel.com that youre open to check in until 2200 and i arrived at 2130.
The room was dirty and had 2 grey hairs in the bed and a ginger hair on top of the bed, the cover had god knows what on it too.
- Marilyn (10/5): Great Hotel - Excellent hotel, Really good food and breakfast. Perfect position for Newmarket Horse Racing. All staff really friendly. Very good price per night I would recommend
- Colin (10/5): - Great place friendly staff would recommend will stay again thanks
- Frantz (8/5): Wine tasting trip. - nice and welcoming. Good selection of well presented dishes. very good breakfast.
The room was small but comfortable.
I am not sure Hotel.com gets any upgrade as they advertise with for gold members.
- Daniel (6/5): - We chose the hotel for its location and its meals menu. To learn that the restaurant was closed the first evening was a surprising disappointment. After a good breakfast the following day had no breakfast available. No prior warning. The room was fine, but then we discovered that the shower was broken. On the hottest day of the year! Despite it being reported nothing was done and no courteous message of explanation left. A quiet hotel though with good room service, very clean
- Anne (8/5): Good place to stay - Lovely staff, very clean room, good food in the onsite restaurant. Enjoyed our stay and would book The White Hart again if we stayed in the area again.
- Jillian (8/5): - Taps didn’t work in the room.. apparently needed to force them to full force and they would click and work... was not advised when we took keys.. they said they will be changed 👍
- P (10/5): Overnight Stay - A good meal followed by a good nights sleep and a full breakfast. Set us up for the day ahead
- Tania (6/5): - Friendly staff. Good food. What let this property down is a total lack of wifi connection ffom inside the bedroom. You really need to put some wifi boosters all around the property. In this day and age renting out rooms without a workable connection is a big inconvenience. The room was also very noisy as the bedhead backs onto a shared wall with the next door bathroom. Every time the neighbouring room guest switched taps and flushed on and off we could hear it. Had a big shortfall of sleep as a result.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Sleepless night due to Macerater - The first room we had booked, only had access to one side of double bed as room was very small. So paid extra for the larger room. The most huge problem was the Macerater toilet, not only did it make a racket when flushing toilet, but when showering and using the sink. So at 5am in the morning was woken by someone in another room having a shower and their Macerater making a horrendous noise. Totally unacceptable. Avoid at all cost if you need a good sleep.
