Guest Reviews
- Mark (8/5): Spring stopover - Great location in centre of town with some nearby parking available which was a bonus. Excellent breakfast and dinner and helpful staff. Bathroom was very compact and shower tricky to access so would not suit everyone.
- Ursula (8/5): Hotel Goethe - We had actually booked the Lowen Hotel in Staufen, but were moved to the Goethe because they said they wouldn't be able to serve breakfast at the Lowen due to a staffing issue. Was disappointing as we were really looking forward to staying there.
The Goethe is ok. A bit tired and old fashioned looking. Rooms are clean & the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was ok, but you cannot choose your cheese & meats, they bring you a platter. We would have preferred to choose our own. Not great quality bread rolls, either. Nice coffee & a good selection of cereals/yogurt.
As this is an older hotel, there is no lift & we struggled to carry our heavy cases up the stairs.
Overall was ok but probably wouldn't stay again.
- WILLIAM (10/5): - Very nice historic lodging in the beautiful Black Forest—with a nice restaurant.
- Susanne (10/5): - Individuell, geschichtsträchtig, sehr nettes Personal
- Hendrik (10/5): - ./.
- Lawrence (8/5): - Authentic old world charm. Small room, no english cable channels. Comfortable bed. No elevator in the hotel. Be prepared for steps.
- Susanne (10/5): - Comfortable bed, unique decor
- Johannes-Otto (8/5): - Alles gut: Essen, Service, Zimmerausstattung; nicht gut : Handwerkerlärm, Passantenlörm in der Rathausgasse schon ab 6h30! Da bricht es m. E. Schallschutzfenster mit Belüftung! Preis dann halt bissle höher.
- Raimund (8/5): - x
- Neil (8/5): Excellent location on town square - Great location in a beautiful town. Lots of restaurants but be aware that not all open every day so worth checking. Good breakfast despite COVID restrictions on self service. On previous visits breakfast has been exceptional.
- Verified traveler (8/5): entrale Lage - zentral in der Fußgängerzone gelegen.
Ontbijt is prima. Leuke ligging in mooi plaatsje.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Recommended - Right in the centre of the village. Staff very friendly and helpful.
- Terry (10/5): nderful views, food, hospitality - Wonderful food ,hospitality, and location. Parking included and breakfast was outstanding
- Gill (8/5): Welcoming smile on arrival. - This was an overnight stop for us during a tour of Europe. Staufen is a beautiful little town and transport y bus and train here is free. Hotel very welcoming and has a few parking spaces. Our room was in the roof so low beams to wack your head on if not careful! No air-con so in the warmer weather could be stuffy I would imagine. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. The bathroom was a little tired but clean. Very good value for money.
