Guest Reviews
- Ioannis (10/5): - Beautiful house , very friendly staff, amazing breakfast
- Patrycja (9/5): Udany pobyt dla naszej grupy przyjaciół. - Spokojna lokalizacja.
A kilátás gyönyörű, a nyugalom szigete. A medence kiváló, a kert egy külön költemény.
- Anne (10/5): A perfect little hidden paradise - everything was magic. We will definitely return one day! - A perfect little hidden paradise - everything was magic. We will definitely return one day!
- Katharine (10/5): Treated like family - The apartment was wonderful, but what makes this place truly remarkable is the host family. They go out of their way to ensure you feel welcomed and are comfortable. The breakfast is unbelievable - the croissants are literally the best in Italy! They were especially kind to our 2 younger children! We had a stellar experience!
- Anne (9/5): Heerlijk - Fantastisch ontbijt met vers fruit, vers gebakken croissants. We werden echt in de watten gelegd. Heerlijke plek. Fijne eigenaars die er alles aan doen om je een vakantiegevoel te geven.
Fijn dorpje met een paar restaurantjes/café'tjes op wandelafstand. niets
- stefan (10/5): - We had a lovely stay at villa Laura. It is located close to the railway station, so it is easy to get around without a car. Some noise from the trains, but not too bad. Close to the lake where you have a boat service. Martina and Tiziana made us feel at home and served a delicious breakfast where nothing was missing.
- Joshua (10/5): Bellissimo !! - They’re a beautiful family, who are very accomodating and make the best breakfast ever!! Nothing!
- Amber (10/5): Beautiful and relaxing stay in lake Como - We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Laura. We loved the quieter town of Lierna. We had a beautiful view of the Lake from our room. A beautiful breakfast, the best of our month long trip. The homemade croissants were delightful. lovely comfortable rooms, the most comfortable pillows too, and extremely lovely hosts. The pool and gardens are great for relaxing. It was the highlight of our month in Italy.
- Mathew (9/5): Wonderful hosts, beautiful views, fabulous breakfasts including gluten free. We will certainly stay again! - The property was easy to get to. The owners were wonderful people who couldn’t do enough for you. The pool was an excellent place to relax at the end of the day. The only downside and it was very minor is that the towels could have been better.
- Vincent (10/5): Incredible stay !! - A Dream Weekend at Villa Laura – More Than Just a Stay
My husband and I stayed at Villa Laura for a weekend, and honestly, it was the most magical and heartwarming experience we have ever had. From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found something truly special. As we pulled up, the family came out to greet us at the entrance with the warmest smiles. They immediately made us feel not like guests, but like family. They helped us with our luggage, opened the doors of their beautiful home to us, and personally showed us around the property with so much kindness and pride.
The villa itself is breathtaking — surrounded by an enormous, vibrant garden full of colorful flowers, perfectly maintained with so much love. Every corner felt alive and full of beauty. We were given our own private little house inside the garden, a charming, cozy, and beautifully kept space where we stayed for the weekend. It felt like having our own little paradise.
Shortly after arriving, the hosts made sure we were comfortable. While the man of the house was busy gardening and taking care of the pool — trimming, cleaning, preparing — the lady welcomed us so warmly, making sure we felt immediately at ease. They even set up mattresses by the pool especially for us, so we could relax and enjoy the afternoon sun. Every small detail was thought of with so much heart.
Then came breakfast… and truly, we have never experienced anything like it. The evening before, they kindly asked what time we would like breakfast and where we would prefer to have it. When we woke up, everything was already beautifully prepared. They served us a breakfast that felt like a dream: handmade, freshly baked croissants, an incredible homemade Nutella hearts (honestly the best I’ve ever tasted), fresh fruits in such abundance that we couldn’t have finished it even in a week, juices, yogurts, eggs, and so many more local delights. Everything was of the highest quality and prepared with so much care.
- Damian (10/5): very pleasant stay in a family run B&B - great family run business nothing
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional - The breakfast was our favorite of our entire trip to Italy. Homemade croissants, delicious pastries, and so much more. The perfect location for catching trains and also the ferry to Bellagio. Such a charming place and the kindest family.
- Nivedita (5/5): Overpriced for a pleasant stay - - excellent location, right next to the train station
- friendly hosts and kind family
- scrambled eggs were excellent at breakfast - there’s no indoor space to dine or sit; even in the cold, the breakfast or dinner is outdoors and the host does not allow for you to eat in your room
- the bathroom has stairs (4 or 5) to go up within the room and is creaky. It’s attached to one room so impossible to have privacy from the second room in the night
- hosts were kind enough to put two travel cots for my young boys but there is zero space to move around after that
- in general the apartment has a lot of stairs, stairs up to the ground floor, the apartment is on the first floor so if you have luggage or a stroller it is very difficult and inconvenient
- the villa is definitely old and you can tell its age for sure
- hosts don’t speak much English so it’s also tough to get any guide or directions of the local area from them
- definitely not worth eur 350-400 a night that we paid for it. Felt a bit more like a backpacker++ kind of place
- in general even the breakfast is limited, scrambled eggs, ham & cheese, croissants and fruit (all taste good but very limited)
- Robert (10/5): - Het was heerlijk om bij deze lieve gastvrouwen te verblijven.
Ze doen echt ALLES om het je naar de zin te maken.
Ontbijt perfect
Interesse naar de gasten.
Inclusief ontbijt , uitzwaaien en huggen om 06.00 uur
Superlief !!!

- Gail (10/5): Perfect in every way with amazing hosts who couldn't do enough for you to make your stay enjoyable. - Lovely fresh selection of fruit, pastries, yoghurt and drinks with options of ham and cheese or cooked eggs. There is nothing that I didn't like.
- Sahra (10/5): What a wonderful find! We felt very happy and relaxed here. - The breakfast was amazing! The hosts were so kind and friendly. The view was simply amazing. The pool was perfect for the kids. Only there was some noise from the train and it would be nice to have black out curtains. Also I didn’t realize the trains don’t run very often at night.
- Renee (10/5): Great location, quiet, easy access to train and ferry - Excellent breakfast, warm, friendly, helpful hostess
- Jan (10/5): Dreamy oasis by the lake - Beautiful house and garden, great location, super friendly hosts and a rich breakfast - what more could you ask for?
- Georgios (10/5): Exceptional - The room was clean and comfortable. The owners of the villa are super helpful and make you feel like home from the first second. The breakfast was super delicious.
Absolutely recommended.
- Rida (9/5): Superb -
- Kimberly (10/5): - This was a super fun way to start our tour of Italy. It was fun to feel like we were part of the area, could interact with the people. Our hosts were so gracious and hospitable. We loved the area, being a little off the beaten path worked out great. There were still a few great restaurants and the best gelato we had in Italy was in Lierna! Since we had a car it was a quick drive to Verena where we could park in the parking structure across from Villa Monastero. From there we walked into town, caught the ferries to the other cities. There is a ferry stop in town, it doesn't leave super early and come back late so we went to Varenna. It was great!
- Emma (10/5): We spent a wonderful week at Villa Laura with our 2 young children and their grandparents. The owners were so kind and m - The hospitality of the owners was exceptional! The breakfast was delicious every morning, especially the homemade eggs and croissants. The spacious bedrooms. The Prosecco by the pool after a day out. The location to the train station for when we wanted to explore. Lierna itself was so beautiful and quiet too. Nothing.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - We had a lovely stay at Villa Laura. The apartment was fantastic and had everything we needed, and has air conditioning.
The hosts were so kind, and the breakfasts were beautiful. There were even homemade croissants.
The location is excellent, with a well stocked food store and a laundromat very close by and the trains/ferries are so convenient for exploring.
Highly recommend! Nothing
- Christelle (10/5): Welcome to paradise - Everything was perfect, our hosts were so friendly and welcoming, we felt at home.
They took care of everything and the accommodation was great. We had everything we need and more! The must was the awesome breakfast of course.
The villa is so beautiful, the swimming pool clean and the garden is a plus ! The location is also perfect: in Lierna you have a beautiful beach (8min by walk) with a magnificent view of the mountain. The train station is nearby the villa but it’s not so noisy. There is also a bakery, supermarket and ice cream shops in Lierna. Varenna is 10 minutes away. I would highly recommend villa Laura to everyone who needs a break to paradise ! Nothing /a
- Dana (10/5): Exceptional - The host family was very nice and friendly. We enjoyed staying in our own little house, what I didn't realise before the booking so it came in as a nice surprise. We could stay seperate from the rest of the guests.
As we were there at the very beginning of the season, the pool was quite cold, however we enjoyed swimming in the hot day.
The breakfast was excellent with a variety of food. There are places around, where to eat as well.
The biggest advantage is the close distance to the train station and the port. It's easy to get around to other towns of lake Como.
We made a mistake in staying only 2 days, it would have been perfect to extend it to all our stay in Italy.
- Steven (10/5): Great place to see Lake Como - proximity to the ferry. The property was very clean and the entire family was friendly and very accommodating.
- Mirell (10/5): Exceptional - Villa Laura is truly a magical place. If you really care about small details and a cozy warm environment - then this is a place for you! It is owned by the most caring and loving family and they truly go all the way to make you feel most welcomed and comfortable during your stay. Breakfast is excellent with great Cappuccino and fresh fruits every morning. Lierna overall is a really cute small village and Villa Laura is very close to lake Como. Definitely looking forward to visiting this fairy tale of a place again :)
- Nagy (10/5): Exceptional - The hosts were extremely nice, and they put together the most amazing breakfast for us every morning. The apartmant itself was very well equipped and comfortable and the garden was very pretty as well. I can only recommend this place. :) The apartment is very close to the train station, which is a big advantage when you have to go somewhere, but the sound of the passing trains was a bit disturbing for me in the first 1-2 mornings.
- Vincent (9/5): perfect start of our Italian holiday - Extremely nice and kind family that operates the villa. They make you feel welcome and at home. Great villa, rooms and garden with pool. Breakfast in a family style setting.
- Kirsty (9/5): Wonderful family run with real Italian feel. Great pool. - Family run bed & breakfast with a real Italian feel. The family welcome was so sweet and mDe us feel very welcome. The breakfast in the garden was amazing and the highlight pastries, freshest fruit, ham, cheese, and more. No need for lunch!! The location is great for the train station and a short walk to the local beach on the lake. Really glad we stayed in Lierna and not in Varenna, as only a quick train ride away. A few wonderful restaurants nearby and a supermarket to buy food to prepare yourself in the kitchenette, if you don't want to eat out. The pool was lovely too, with mountain views. Would highly recommend. Thanks to the family for making our Lake Como stay memorable. The location is right by the train station, so you do hear the rumble of trains but it didn't bother us. We were travelling by train so was important to be near station.
- Flora (10/5): Just perfect - I can honestly say that this is the best b&b we've ever stayed at. Vila Laura is pure magic. The house is beautiful, with a lovely pool and beautiful garden. We stayed in the separate building, which was so spacious and equipped with everything you could need. We appreciated the facilities to cook some meals, and the air-conditioning was great for the nights. The absolute best about Vila Laura is the breakfast, with lots of tasty pastries and fresh fruit, and coffee to die for. Thanks again to the whole family for all your care! We hope to visit again.
