- Penny (10/5): - Friendly hosts, shuttle service to and from accommodation, waited for us to pick up ski gear, great breakfast, nice room and complimentary tea and coffee. Also, good location, close to the start of the shuttle bus route to the ski area.
- Sarah (8/5): Warm & comfortable stay in great location! - Neat & tidy simply furnished room with comfy bed. Nice warm temperature (we stayed in winter). Great location, easy walking distance to the shuttle buses to get you to the slopes. Dry room for snow gear storage. Yummy breakfast every morning & free hot chocolate anytime in the upstairs sitting room. Rob & Yoshi were great hosts. Rob collected us from the train station and dropped us off at the end of our stay.

- Daniel (9/5): - Close walk into town, close to the bus stop. Owners were lovely & always happy to help
- Beverly (8/5): -
- Emily (8/5): A lovely stay - Yoshi & Rob were so lovely, friendly and helpful. They picked us up & dropped us at the station.
Room was basic but functional and clean.
Location was close to the shuttle bus for the mountains, however a bit of a walk to the ‘Main Street/food hub’
Breakfast was good & cooked fresh.
- Mark (8/5): A very nice place to stay, handy to the bus pick up points for the ski fields. - Breakfast was great, and easy to set preferences for the cooked food, thanks Yoshi.
The Chateau and the hosts were always warm and welcoming, especially Yoshi who even assisted my very rudimentary Japanese.
Was an easy walk to the bus stops for the ski fields, the bus stop was either the first or second stop on the trip to the fields so getting a seat was not an issue. Not a bad problem as we were always warm enough but a room heater with a better thermostat would have been nice. It may have been me but, I could only get it to turn on or off, it just meant more times turning it on and off.
A good thing is that you can be picked up and dropped off at the start and finish of your stay, didn't see this on the web site so only got to use the drop off; might be good to mention this in your site.
- Michael (10/5): Yoshi & Rob are excellent hosts. Very attentive, welcoming and knowledgeable about surroundings and local activities - Comfortable and relaxed setting. Easy to reach surrounding activities and restaurants. Nothing.
- Vincent (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (8/5): Very good - Position
- Martha (7/5): Enjoyable stay with lovely hosts. - Location was great, hosts were lovely.
Snow was fantastic ! Bathroom small but clean and functional.
Breakfast also small (esp. for a full day of skiing)
- Derek (7/5): Good -
- Wendy (7/5): Good -
- Leigh (10/5): Exceptional - Rob and Yoshi were excellent hosts. Nothing
- Sean (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jocelyn (10/5): Everything was great, only location was a bit far - Yoshi was extremely friendly and helpful during our stay. She gave us tips with snow gear hire and told us we could get the rental shops to deliver the gear to our accommodation so we didn't have to carry them back over a 15 min walk back in heavy snow. She also drove us to the bus terminal on our check-out day because we weren't able to organise a taxi (it was too busy). Rob & Yoshi also cook is breakfast every morning plate by plate so it always comes out hot with just the right portion as well. We felt very looked after with them! The only draw back is the location is a little hard to reach without a car
- Tessa (10/5): Exceptional - Yoshi and Rob were fantastic hosts and super helpful with advice and recommendations around the area. Free breakfast was great and they also kindly picked us up from the station on arrival and departure. Thanks for the great stay
- Olivia (9/5): Would definitely recommend! - We throughly enjoyed our stay!! The facilities were great, the location was perfect, Rob and Yoshi were always super helpful and the breakfast each morning was such a bonus. Would definitely recommend!! NA
- Sebastian (8/5): Very good -
- Cooper (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional - Hosts, breakfast, room, all accommodations were exceptional. Could not recommend a better spot for skiing in Hakuba.
- Olivia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kate (8/5): Very good - Rob and Yoshi are wonderful hosts who went above and beyond for my family. They accommodated breakfast for our fussy toddler and made us feel at home. Fantastic location for the ski fields. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone travelling the area!
- Nick (10/5): Exceptional - Close to busses and shops
- Minns (10/5): Exceptional - Rob was great!
- Isabelle (10/5): Homely and well catered - Rob and Yoshi were wonderful hosts. All the facilities and amenities we needed were provided. Breakfast was great. The location was a 2 minute walk to the free shuttle service.
- Joobi (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (5/5): Ordinary - Not much Seating poor, drying room small, front entrance small and overflowing with owners stuff.no hot water one day owner turned it off to save money
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kamil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Arshyah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katherine (10/5): Exceptional - The breakfast was excellent and changed daily. The hosts were so hospitable and accomodating of personalised requests. They also kindly provided a shuttle service to and from the train station on arrival and departure.
- Matthew (7/5): Good - Yoshi was a welcoming, friendly and very helpful host, who offered to pick us up and drop us off before / after our stay. Location is great - 10 minuite walk to Echoland and 15 minuite walk to either Happo One or Hakuba 47 (2 minuite walk to 47 bus stop). Very good value for money for a ski holiday. Room was clean and tidy when we arrived. Hot water was a bit temperamental in the morning and breakfast only starts from 7:30 am which might not be ideal for avid skiers who want to hit the slopes early.
- Fraser (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kei (10/5): - The owners were very helpful and went out of their way to help with transportation.
- Celine (9/5): Superb - Lovely host, delicious breakfast, great locations (oak forest bus stop is a 3 min walk from the property and is the first stop on the bus so you always get a seat). Also a nice lounge room to socialise with other guest! Would recommend!
- YiHsing (10/5): - Non
- Russell (7/5): A good bed and breakfast for the price - Yoshi and Rob are good hosts. This bed and breakfast stay is in a good location: five minute walk to Echoland restaurants and bars. There are several free bus services within 3-5 min walk from Chateau Lausanne and the Hakuba Valley bus is about 15 minutes walk down the hill into Echoland. The pillows were flat and not very comfortable. Although it states the rooms are serviced during your stay, we needed to ask for basic room amenities (toilet paper and body wash) to be replenished during our 5 night stay.
- JUNHUI (10/5): - Rob and Yoshi made this property 5 stars. They are very caring and does make you kinda like staying with family a bit
- Nathan (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location, Rob and Yoshi made really good recommendations for mountains for us beginners.
10% off at Lion rentals because we stayed here and then Yoshi took our gear back for us so we didn't have to worry!!
Breakfast was always delicious and it was nice chatting to other guests who you often see coming in and out.
- Frances (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bernadette (8/5): - We had a pleasant stay, Yoshi was amazing! Always a smiling face and ever happy to assist where she could.
The location is a short 10min walk to Echoland Main Street, great for food and drinks (but be prepared to wait for a dinner sitting). It is a short walk to the shuttle bus stops to get on snow, but unfortunately they don’t open breakfast until 0730 and if everyone comes down at the same time you’ll be pressed to get your breakfast in time to catch the first shuttle (you can just have toast and a coffee if you get stuck).
We requested a queen bed, but got given two singles and the room is quite small. However the heating works well and it had everything we needed.
I emailed Rob to ask the best way to get to the hotel from the train station and was informed we would be picked up. Unfortunately although I emailed a couple days prior updating on our arrival time at the train station, he never replied and turned up at the station 50minutes after we arrived (at the time the busiest train arrived with most of the crowds).
Rob was unable to take us to the train station for our departure but Yoshi was helpful in calling a taxi the night before.
- David (9/5): Wonderful place to stay for an excellent family ski trip - Lovely hosts, delightful accomodation in a reasonably good location
- Leighton (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kate (10/5): A cosy home away from home with the most hospitable hosts. - If I could give 11 out of 10, I would. Yoshi and Rob went over and above to make sure we were looked after, from picking us up from the bus station to dropping us off at the restaurant for Christmas dinner. The breakfast every morning was hot and tasty. The location is close to a couple of ski shuttle bus stops. Echoland, with its restaurants and bars, is 5 minutes walk. The rooms are not luxurious, but they’re cosy and you have access to a little sitting room. This honestly felt like home for a week for us and our adult kids.
- Chino (10/5): - The host family was welcoming and charming. The breakfast was delicious and filling. I appreciated being picked up at the train station when first arriving. All for an affordable price.
- Jonathan (10/5): Very pleasant stay and friendly host. - It was quaint. Maybe a bit dated in terms of decor.
- Bharath (9/5): Superb -
- Simon (6/5): Pleasant -
- Shunichi (9/5): I will come back - Location was good and owners were so kind full during all time our stay. We were able to spend pleasant and so happy time.
- Best (10/5): Exceptional - Good breakfast.
The living area is nice and comfortable, and tea and coffee are available for you.
Good service and response. No
- Artichuk (10/5): It wsa an amazing adventrue. - Breakfast was bacon, eggs, sausage with toast and cereal was there too. It was perfect for us. There was lots to eat. The hosts were wonderful. The one thing that was really nice was the ski drying room worked great. The hosts were amazing. Rob drove us to the hills one day and the bus station the day we came home. no it was great
- Smita (8/5): Very good - Hotel is within walking distance from Echoland and the shuttle bus stop. Rooms are clean, cozy and comfortable. Rob and Yoshi are very friendly and welcoming to their guests and the hotel has a nice homely vibe. Would love to visit again in the summer!!
- Cevat (9/5): perfect family owned lodge near everything with really friendly owners - the owners was so nice and friendly
- Hung (10/5): Exceptional - Robert and Yoshi are very friendly.
- Kamal (8/5): Very good - Breakfast was great. Location was a short walk to bus routes that will get you around the area, and a short walk to the smallish Echoland retail scene. Without a car, you are mostly limited to the local Echoland village scene, however this is a feature of the village and not the hotel itself. Taxi and bus service won’t provide reasonable options to explore other villages. Be prepared to take multiple busses and wait for limited schedules to ski resorts other than Happo-One.
- Thomas (10/5): - Lovely cosy stay with friendly hosts. Just what i was looking for. A short walk to bus stop to the resorts and a short walk to an Onsen after a long day of skiing. Restaurants just down the road in Echoland. an excellent full breakfast provided every morning. A great options for solos travellers or groups for sure
- Mark (9/5): Superb - Proximity to both Mountains
Hosts were very welcoming and accommodating
- Patrick (10/5): Smooth and fun times with lots of skiing and exploring the area from a great location. staff were amazing, room was comf - So cute!! Very homely and friendly. Short walk to echo land and shuttle bus stop just down the road for ski resorts.
Nice wet room for drying snowy gear. Staff were more than accommodating, delicious breakfast and pick us up from the station and drops us off.
- Marianne (10/5): We had a great stay over New Year's at Chateau Lausanne and hope that we will be able to visit again - Loved the breakfast each morning. Rob and Yoshi are exceptional hosts. They were welcoming, friendly and helpful. It was also great to have a heated drying room for ski equipment. Chateau Lausanne is well located near everything you would want. THere really is nothing that we didn't like.
- Paris (10/5): Exceptional - Rob & Yoshi went above and beyond to make our stay a great one. Highly recommended to anyone looking for warm and peaceful accommodation with hosts who really make you feel at home.
- Samuel (10/5): Cosy room great for couples who are keen to ski - Great location 4 minutes from a free shuttle to the mountains and 10 minutes from Echoland and the paid shuttle. The room was clean and cosy and our hosts were lovely and super informative. Great breakfasts, local information and restaurant bookings.
- ひろき (8/5): - オーナーがとても気さくで話しやすい方です!
『また利用したい』そう思える居心地の良い場所でした。
- Verified traveler (8/5): - アットホームな感じでリラックス出来ました。スノーボードのスクールも紹介してもらえました。
- Mat (8/5): - The property's only a 3 min walk from the closest bus stop (Goryu Hondinirichi) for the snow shuttles, or a 5 min walk to the next closest (Hotel Oak Forest) which operates a few extra shuttles. Also only a 5 min walk to the main strip in Echoland which has a bunch of bars & restaurants.
The hosts Yoshi & Rob were super helpful and friendly. Picked us up from Hakuba Station when we arrived and dropped us off at Happo Bus Terminal when we left. Also gave us a lift to the bus station on a separate day when we needed.
No complaints about the room. It's very standard but had all the basics that we needed. Heater worked well, we were never cold. There's a small drying rack for hanging some of your clothes which was handy. Bathroom was small but not too small. Shower water pressure was good and didn't have any issues with hot water. There is no fridge in the room, we left whatever we needed to keep cold (yoghurts, beers etc) on the outer windowsill and that was totally fine!
The drying room for all your snow gear works well. It's small and can get crowded when there's a lot of guests but our stuff was always dry by morning and that's what matters.
The free breakfast was very basic but more than sufficient to get you through until lunch time. The cooked option was between either bacon, sausage, mushroom & scrambled egg or a vegetarian option which substitutes the meat for avocado. Both very small but you can also help yourself to the standard cereal, toast, juice, coffee & tea.
- INTEN (10/5): 避暑 - 部屋が綺麗、施設もよい。夜は静かでよく寝れます。ファミリー経営者がいろいろと案内していただき:近く温泉も最高です。
- Kit (8/5): Warm and Cosy - Warm and Cosy
- Andrew (10/5): Wonderful hosts and comfortable, friendly lodgings - Our stay at Chateau Lausanne was one of those lovely experiences that help to cement fond memories of a holiday/travel. Comfortable and clean lodgings, hosts Rob and Yoshi were warm, friendly, relaxed but always professional and accommodating. Great location, close enough to walk to plenty of bars and restaurants and shuttle bus stops, but serene at night, away from the hustle and bustle of a busy ski town. If we make it back to Hakuba, we know where we'll stay.
- julia (10/5): Skiing in Hakuba - we had a wonderful holiday at the Chateau Lausanne thanks to the hosts Rob and Yoshi and their lovely family. The hotel was in a convenient location for the shuttle buses to the slopes and in the pretty snowy lanes of Ecoland.
The room was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed the breakfast either continental or cooked to order each day.
- Rebecca (8/5): Great stay in Hakuba - We had a great stay here! The hosts are so nice and accommodating. The rooms are small, but cozy. Our only small complaint is the ski storage room is small and the rooms could use more hooks to dry out gear overnight.
