The staff at the reception withdrew 1600 rmb instead of the 1200 that my stay should have been. No explanation given, no communication. 0. When we confronted her (in Chinese since she didn’t speak any English but that isn’t a problem since my girlfriend is native Chinese) she said “ its deposit” again no explanation given. No deposit has been mentioned in any of the booking policy or anything like that. We still haven’t gotten it back. Otherwise the room floor was dirty but the housekeeper took care of it during the next days cleaning.

The room is very modern designed and have many special areas (dressing area, sink area, separated shower and toilet areas). The staff are very helpful and polite. The location is out of tourist area and it is quiet. The room is really hot (above 25C) and can't open the window or lower it in any way. We have to open the room door to cool it down (even after turn off the heat). With such high temperature, the comforter is really thick. The sofa and curtain areas are not well cleaned. We moved the footer and found something under it, and it also caused my allergy of not well cleaned sofa or curtain.

• Peter (7/5): It was an OK stay but there was a room stuff up where not enough beds were provided for 3 people. - This hotel was located in a close-by location to both Tianjin West Railway Station and Tianjin Station (Central). We had a train coming in to one station and leaving from the other station, so I deliberately wanted a hotel location in between both stations and this one achieved that need. The location was also close to other tourist attractions in the city, so again it was convenient for that as well. The facilities are good with a wide spacious lobby, an in-house restaurant which is also used for breakfast, in-house pool and other facilities. The staff were quite friendly and helpful as much as they could. I booked for 3 people and my booking clearly stated it was for 3 people. However, when we arrived at the hotel, they said that the room could only sleep 2 people. The third person had to sleep on the couch. Luckily there was a couch for them to sleep on. This is unacceptable that I clearly booked a room for 3 people but the room provided can only sleep 2 people. They should not advertise this room as being able to take in 3 people if it cannot sleep 3 people. We made the most of it since it was only for 2 days, but if it was longer I would have asked to cancel and find another hotel. Booking.com should review this hotel and inspect it for misrepresentation of room capacity for the number of guests. We did not make a fuss only because the staff were friendly and helped as much as possible within their limits.

• Luís (9/5): Good breakfast, great service with nice staff, very comfortable room and extremely pleasant stay - The whole experience was awesome. Two young men helped me check-in very quickly although I had arrived late in the night. Staff tried their best to speak in English with me and were very happy to help. I got a room upgrade and was incredibly surprised to how spacious, clean, and comfortable my room was. It made me wish I had a longer stay. Breakfast was a good mix of Western and Chinese food that I still had not seen in many hotels here in China. During checkout, Lina, Sophy and Zoe were very sweet in helping me do it quickly once more. Hoping to go back soon! I wanted to have stayed for a longer time. The only thing I would say could have been better would be the breakfast as it could have included some scrambled eggs or omelette. Overall, breakfast was at a much higher level than many hotels in China.

• Marek (8/5): Good value for the money, I can recommend for a western traveler. - Good choice for European traveler. Some hotels in China may be quite a surprise for a westerner. This reaches a solid standard, for a reasonable price. The breakfast bar had many choices. The staff is super nice and helpful. It was quiet in general, no noisy guests. And the pool is actually swimmable. I can recommend as a decent choice for decent money. I can only suggest to do vacuuming and deep cleaning under the bed and furniture in general more often. There was some dust visible under when looking under the bed or sofa. Also, from time to time in my room there was a noticeable cigarette smoke. Not sure if someone had previously smoked in the room, or the smoke was getting into the HVAC from somewhere. Knowing this is a general issue in China, I didn’t even ask for another room. I am sure they would offer a different one, if I tried.

Breakfast was provided for the three of us which was included in the room charge. The two single beds are barely enough to accommodate for 3 people so 2 people sharing a small bed could not sleep confortably.
