• Tarang (7/5): Good option in South Mumbai. Great location but a bit overpriced. - Excellent location. Walking distance from Gateway of India and Colaba Causeway Market. They also showed us room options as we booked Superior Room so we choose a spacious one for us. Cleanliness was maintained. The property didn’t have any lift so walking to 3rd Floor was a hassle. Second not much hostellers like vibe. No in house cafe or canteen. A bit overpriced for the property but its mostly priced of its great location. Requires maintenance.

• Lisa (1/5): Cheap and that’s all there’s to say - Cheap and practical location but doesn’t feel safe at night No lift, no windows, AC doesn’t really work, people eat in rooms even if it’s not permitted, no answers when contacted, no help with AC issue either.

• Prathamesh (1/5): Scam artists running a hostel. TOTALLY AVOID. - Only the location was decent. Let me be very specific about what happened, because this wasn’t a misunderstanding, this was a DELIBERATE ATTEMPT TO MANIPULATE AND OVERCHARGE GUESTS. Not once but multiple times. We walked in with a confirmed booking for an 8-bed dorm. The reception- specifically a young woman and an older man who appeared to be the owner, immediately told us the 8-bed was “FULL” and that we’d need to upgrade to a 6-bed dorm for an additional offline charge. No documentation, no transparency, just pay more. So we booked the 6-bed online right there, in front of them on Booking.com. Suddenly, the story changed. Now the 6-bed was “UNDER MAINTENANCE” and we’d be put back in the 8-bed. The exact room they just told us was full. Let that sink in. When I pushed back, pointing out that I’d now paid the higher rate for the 6-bed they themselves pushed us into, they refused to honour it. Flat out. Wouldn’t give us the room, wouldn’t refund the difference, just kept insisting we stay in the 8-bed. When confronted about it suddenly being available after claiming it was full, they said “some people just checked out”, A COMPLETE LIE, given we were standing at the reception the entire time and their checkout time is hours earlier. I was travelling with my European girlfriend, and watching this unfold from her perspective made it even more telling. It was obvious they clocked us as international guests and assumed we’d be confused enough, or tired enough, to just give up and pay whatever they asked. She was genuinely shocked! not just at the attempted overcharge, but at how casually they kept changing their story, each version more contradictory than the last. This kind of behaviour toward international travellers is exactly what destroys a destination’s reputation. The real reason we eventually pieced together, after overhearing the management , was embarrassingly petty: the 8-bed already had guests, and they simply didn’t want to switch on the AC in the 6-bed just for two people.

• Shukla (10/5): Good stay, but the daytime AC restriction needs improvement. - The hostel was good overall, with a nice atmosphere and comfortable stay. I didn’t like the rule of turning off the AC from 11 AM to 5 PM. If someone arrives late and needs to rest, the room becomes very uncomfortable and suffocating. It would be better to change this rule or allow AC for guests who have just checked in and need rest.

Puedes moverte facilmente por Mombai gracias a donde esta situado, tienes tiendas, restaurantes cafeterias, y la puerta de la india con el viaje a la isla elefanta muy recomendable si puedes. Habia que pedir al personal que pusiera el aire en las zonas comunes porque lo quitaban sin preguntar, y otra cosa que no me gustó era que la habitación no tenia ventana, pero bueno sin más solo iba a dormir.

• Valerio (10/5): Vita a Colaba - La posizione è perfetta, il quartiere affascinante e vicino a diverse attrazioni. Ci si arriva praticamente con la metro dall aeroporto. L'ostello è bello, curato ed antico, con spazi comuni molto confortevoli. Le camere sono pulite, come anche i bagni. Lo staff simpatico, gentile e disponibile, ed efficiente. Bellissima esperienza! Nulla, ma una cosa che mi avrebbe fatto piacere avere: i letti potrebbero essere dotati di tende oscuranti per la privacy. Inoltre dove è la luce del letto, servirebbero delle tasche portaoggetti per occhiali, smartphone e altro.

Un des réceptionniste « Simon » je crois n’est pas très pro et m’a causé des problèmes jusqu’au moment de mon départ me demandant de payer quelque chose que j’avais déjà payé. • Jolanta (1/5): Chcesz poczuć jak się mieszka w znosnych slumsach wynajmnij tu pokój - Nic Poprosiliście o moją opinię - proszę. W Backpacker Cowies chcą tylko by im zaplacić za pokój. Dobrze, że obejrzałam pokój przed zapłaceniem za niego. Przeznaczony dla mnie pokój to była duszna, ponura, mała nora. Klimatyzacja nie działała. Wg mężczyzny na recepcji brak klimatyzacji jest mało istotny, mam zaplacić bo zarezerwowałam pokój. Obok było duże duszne pomieszczenie w którym siedziało parę osób. Część z nich miała umęczone, mętne oczy. Wg mnie mogli być po środkach zmieniających nastrój. Skąd te dobre opinie? Jakbym oceniała to miejsce jako slumsy to może z 7-8 punktów bym dała. A może w pokojach wieloosobowych jest inaczej? Cena za lóżko w takim pomieszczeniu jest przystępna. Jedyny plus to lokalizacja. Tylko, że w pobliżu jest więcej możliwości wynajęcia pokoju w podobnej cenie z działającą klimatyzacją i wiatrakami. Z ulgą, zadowoleniem opuściłam ten jakoby dom noclegowy dla ludzi. Nie polecam nawet swoim wrogom.

• Sarah (10/5): Great spot to stay in Mumbai 😍 - The staff, the location and the general mood of the guesthouse. Everyone made my stay enjoyable, in this nice place located a few minutes walk only from the Gateway of India, for instance! I stayed in a female dormitory: the bed was comfortable, there was a very appreciable curtain and the room was efficiently cleaned everyday! Everything was fine :)

• Ailsa (8/5): Excellent location and friendly helpful staff - The staff were so helpful and friendly. Always giving great recommendations. The location is excellent, so near to all the best parts of south Mumbai including the gateway to India. Lots of restaurants around and markets. Confusion with our booking which meant we didn’t get the room we had booked but the staff were very helpful in sorting this out.

• Renee (6/5): Bij een privé kamer is de prijs niet in overeenstemming met het gebodene. - De lokatie en het dakterras. We hadden een kamer geboekt die 3 ramen zou hebben (‘room with a view’) volgens de foto’s, maar er was alleen een piepklein raampje achter een kast die nog net een klein stukje binnenplaats liet zien. Het was echt een backpackers hotel. Daarom was de prijs van de kamer daar totaal niet mee in overeenstemming. Het inchecken duurde ook lang.

• Patrick (8/5): Expensive but good location - Its a superb location. They are extremely helpful and hospitable, nothing too much trouble. It's too expensive, especially given it's need for renovation. Plaster falling off the ceiling in the bathroom was not what we expected in our private room. No amount of free biscuits and water make up for the excessive cost.

• Prof. Dr. Maria (9/5): Wir würden beim nächsten Mumbai-Besuch wieder herkommen. - Die Lage war perfekt. Mitten in Colaba und doch verhältnismäßig (für eine 30 Mio Stadt wie Mumbai) leise. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Wir waren 10 Nächte dort und haben uns bis zum Schluss wohlgefühlt. Es gab keinen richtigen Kleiderschrank und insgesamt wenig space, um Dinge zu verstauen. Die Gemeinschaftsküche war so schlecht ausgestattet, dass sie als Küche kaum genutzt werden konnte. Der gemeinsam genutzte Kühlschrank führte dazu, dass dort gelagerte Dinge von anderen Gästen genutzt wurden und verschwanden...

• Stuti (10/5): - For a heritage building, it feels surprisingly spacious. The high ceilings and well-thought-out layout mean you never feel cramped, and the key-card security makes it feel incredibly safe for long-term travelers.
• Valmir (2/5): Terrible - Good location in Colaba The room wasn’t as depicted in the pictures and description, despite paying 70€ per night for a superior room there was no natural light, a very small window was covered because of construction work, during the day it was so loud you could not even sit inside the room, and there was no hot water. There’s a boiler and the water is not completely cold, but it doesn’t get warm or hot. I complained twice to the staff, but either they didn’t care or couldn’t help. Worst stay since many years, definitely not worth the money

Each room has its own bathroom. There is a fantastic rooftop where you can relax. Tea and snacks are provided. The staff is helpful and friendly. There was no window in the room.

I feel there are few things which property can improve - 1. Television working and its space 2. The games in common area needs to be maintained . Few games had missing pieces 3. Collab activities are missing and can be organised by hostel group

• Miyu (10/5): absolutely good - First,the staff are nice here.I was trouble buying ticket but they helped me get the bus ticket and one of them called the driver and told me when and where I actually should come.I really appreciated that.Thank you so much! Also,the location is perfect to see around the main spot for traveling.I didn't take taxi, I enjoyed walking on the street. Lastly,I made some good friends here and ate lunch or dinner together.It was wonderful memories in my life. I don't like the style of toilet. For some people,it's okay,but for me, I don't. It is a little bit less clean and useful.

• Christopher (6/5): Well-run high-turnover hostel. A bit worn but gets the important things right. - Location near many tourist sites and decent shops markets and restaurant. Outstanding and helpful staff who explained everything very well! Security was excellent. My ‘Premier private room’ didn’t feel very premier. Paid extra for outside windows but they were tiny and couldn’t be opened (plus there was scaffolding outside and noisy work going on during the day so no point). Also desperately needs a new paint job and skirting boards.

C’è la possibilità di utilizzare la cucina e c’è una sala comune e un rooftop. Per completare il tutto, hai a disposizione te e caffè da fare quando vuoi! Quasi dimenticavo, posizione migliore non esiste. 10 e lode Sarebbe stato perfetto se ci fossero dei bagni in comune piuttosto che avere il bagno en-suite nel dormitorio, peró è una piccolezza.

• Lothar (8/5): Tolles Hostel in zentraler Lage in Colaba - Das Hostel liegt zentral und doch ruhig in einer Nebenstraße im Herzen von Colaba. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit in jeder Angelegenheit.
