Guest Reviews
- Lise (10/5): - The property was clean quiet and the manager most welcoming and kind
- Elisa (10/5): Beauty and comfort in a historical location - We liked everything: the architecture, the remodeling of the rooms, the location, the garden with view, the comfort and cleaness and the kindness of the managers. The breakfast room is lovely as well as the lady who is preparing it.
- Stephen (10/5): This was an exceptional place to stay in Veroli. - This was a great find. The property was clean, comfortable and perfect location. In addition the historic setting was quite interesting. The staff was absolutely fantastic. Very friendly. Very helpful. Would definitely come back and would definitely recommend.
- Adrian (10/5): Authentic - Clean, spacious, and historic. Authentic experience. Room was perfect. Pictures dont do it justice. Pietro was super hospitable and treated us like famiglia.
- Shelly (10/5): - This property is absolutely stunning the history of it is great and the staff do know so ask...
The surroundings are second to none in a beautiful little village.
if you are looking for somewhere that is peaceful and cultured this is the place to go.
I have visited twice and will be returning for a longer stay in the future.
- rsm0662 (10/5): A hidden gem in the Latium region! - A hidden gem in the Latium region!
We spent 5 nights in beautiful Veroli at the wonderful Monastero di Sant’ Erasmo.
The monastero was enchanting, the wonderful serenity and a lovely summer breeze in the middle of August were simply heavenly.
The hotel was beautifully renovated in simple, minimal style in harmony with the spirit of the place, hyper clean and Mr Pietro and Mr Cristiano were charming and always happy to help with any request to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
They also gave us wonderful suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. One can really tell they are devoted to the territory and the ethos of the place.
The fabulous ladies helping with breakfast were always attentive and prepared the most delicious homemade cakes. Such treats!
Thank you to all of you at the Monastero, you treated us as rockstars! We will be back soon!
- Beverley (10/5): Perfect - Loved staying here. Charming borgo, quiet rooms, very comfortable , good bed & shower at an excellent price. Staff all very charming & knowlegible about the history of the property & the local area. Nothing
- Gian (10/5): Everything went well -
- Francesco (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (10/5): Viaggio in Ciociaria - Sistemazione molto particolare e suggestiva. Camera pulita, soddisfacente ma essenziale. Bella la vista, normale la colazione. Parcheggio vicino, ma strada in salita, purtroppo inevitabile
- Alessio (8/5): Very nice abbey athmosphere - nice place, unexpectedly so beautiful. large garden, as it once was, with the air of an abbey -
just a little bit difficult to reach the rntrance with heavy luggages but its not a property fault, just the historical way
- Bettina (10/5): A lovely hotel in the Veroli. - The Monastero Di Sant'Erasmo was a really nice hotel located in the centre of Veroli. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. They catered for my gluten free breakfast. The room was very clean and had everything I needed. The view from my room was breathtaking. I would very happily return to the hotel again.
- Gary (10/5): - This place is great and I highly recommend it to anyone. The desk staff are amazing and from the minute I showed up they were focused on making my stay as comfortable as possible. They took the time to walk my family around the facility, show me where our rooms were, how to access them with the codes, the dining area, and even made me a coffee as we covered the breakfast time. The facility feels so safe, and I love that the main doors to the grounds is even locked. Don't let my discussion on security fool you into thinking the area isn't safe, its in a very beautiful and quiet neighborhood. The town is a few minutes walking from here and the people are just wonderful. We ate a many of the restaurants and the food is excellent. I even got a cafe Americano at 11pm in the local bar and walking the streets couldn't feel any safer. I promise you will enjoy your stay here!
- Marwan (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, quiet, comfortable with ana amazing view!

- Mark (8/5): An oasis after a hard work day. - I loved the location and quaint property and village. Opportunities for great food and drink. Walking shoes required.
Very helpful people and staff. Cheerful. Quiet location. Nature. Views were amazing. Courtyard nice touch.

- Vincenzo (7/5): Good -
- Viktoriia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kelly (1/5): TERRIBLE - Nice location No air conditioning. It was only after we left that the owner contacted us to apologize for the lack of air conditioning. Of course they said nothing to us when we arrived and paid up front for our accommodations for 2 nights. We slept outside until 1-2am on the chairs outside until returning to the oven of a room. Did not offer a fan, nothing. VERY DISAPPOINTED and would NOT recommend this place as they obviously are not honest and did not care for our well being or comfort as the room was 38degrees. Ruined our time in this lovely area of the country and paid both financially and mentally.
- Яd (9/5): Impressive location - Locate in old Veroli, nice and clean room, friendly staff, amazing view from the garden over valley of Frosinone, Because is located in old town of Veroli , no parking is possible ( we let the car out side of old town and after we walk 200m)
- Jan (9/5): Historical place in a very nice village. - Historical place in a very nice village. Breakfast was very basic
- Francesca (10/5): Perfect stay , great value for money. - Excellent location, beautiful view. The rooms were basic but lovely and the staff was great! Everything was wonderful! The parking may be a problem if there is an event in the town.
- Francesca (10/5): Perfect stay, stunning location, wonderful staff! - Everything- wonderful staff and silent, comfortable rooms. Excellent value for money. Veroli is a stunning place! Parking - when there is an event in Veroli , you won’t find parking but until July/August, there is free parking in a multi-level car park
- George (8/5): Peaceful - Breakfast was good / location good Bed a bit hard
- Stefano (10/5): - ottimo
- Flaminiacozzolino (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roberta (10/5): a true experience of peace and beauty - the place is amazing and the people there are the kind human beings you like to have around in your daily life as much as during your trips. it is worth a second stay... my dest was small, but the lounge allowed for a perfect working location
- Stefano (8/5): Very good -
- Renate (9/5): Superb -
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Posto bellissimo, struttura veramente ottima sotto tantissimo punti di vista. Pulizia, accoglienza, estetica, colazione.
- Noname (8/5): - Very nice hotel and extremely nice village! We were very lucky that there was a street village during the period we were there.
The only issue was the wifi- no wifi in the rooms (which we then saw was written in the summary on expedia) but there was no wifi in the breakfast area either or in the garden area in front of the hotel which was quite disappointing.
- jo3 (8/5): soggiorno lampo - ottima residenza, tranquilla all'interno del centro storico. Staff gentilissimo.
- Wilfredo (4/5): Nessun comfort - Location splendida e prezzi ottimi!
- X5812EArichardp (8/5): Basic but superb value. Make sure you know how to find it! - We stayed here for two nights at the end of a 12-day holiday in Calabria and the Amalfi Coast. My wife and I used it as a base to get to and from Tivoli's Villa Adriana and D'Este before flying home from Rome. It worked out very well.
Our room, just below the monastery's church, was clean and comfortable. We did have a few minor quibbles: the shower water pulsed warm and cool...or hot and cold; the shower fitting became detached from the wall, there was no curtain across the bedroom window. We were assured that these matters would be addressed and, in reality, they didn't cause us any problems. A pleasant breakfast was provided in the reception building further down the street.
The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Because of our failure to plan ahead and discover where exactly the monastery was and where we should park, we got hopelessly lost, despite asking several people where the place was (Veroli has more than one monastery and you can't park that close to this one). So, we forced the man in charge to wait for 20 minutes beyond closing time (19.00). Do not rely on GPS to get you to the right place if you are driving up to the town (and it is always UP!). Aim for the public car park (2€ for overnight parking) just outside the Porta Romana (the town gate on the northern side). Then walk back up to Via Giuseppe Garibaldi where the monastery reception is. Residents can drive up and down this narrow street apparently but we didn't see any cars do so; the "street" is stepped much of the way, with little ramps for small cars!
The reception has a map of the town, a list of restaurants and places to visit.
- alphaaction (8/5): Blessings of the Benedictines on This Community Development Project - The monks were centuries gone when the Catholic church offered this abandoned property to a regional development project. The church asked them to create something for the community. Over many years (8) and through sporadic grant financing, the development project evolved, one stone after another, until this glorious building and its rooms, breakfast center, and meeting areas are evidence of a creative blend of the ancient and modern. My traveling companion and I happened on this hotel almost by accident, but we decided to travel slightly out of our way to experience a night in a former monastery. We were so glad we did. Not only was the staff very helpful and generous, but the space itself was warm, welcoming, and out of the ordinary.
You will park below the entrance to the monastery in the Piazzale di Porta Romana and walk up a delightfully cobbled street. Shortly after you see the sign Via Terrible, which is noteworthy but not accurate, the entrance comes up on the left.
Our rooms, each with a queen size bed had good lighting, bedside tables, a small window looking out on the cobbled lane, tv, and spotless bathrooms.
When you want to see the town of Veroli, go back down the lane and take the first street to the right. This leads up past little shops and food markets, restaurants, and pizza palaces and on to the main square. Veroli has all the amenities and services a person might need, and it has the normal life of a village in the form of school kids, moms pushing strollers, real estate agents, and banks.
Stay at the Monasterio di Sant'Erasmo and make yourself at home in Veroli. You may decide never to leave.
- rolloh636 (8/5): A beautiful location and fabulour building in which to have a hotel - It is a quintessential setting for an Italian hotel, on the top of the hill in Veroli, a small Italian town. They have very tastefully renovated what must have been a very old monastery. The views across the valley are awe inspiring. The room was clean and tidy, it is not the height of luxury but was perfectly well equipped and very reasonable.
The breakfast was a bit basic but apart from that the hotel is lovely and I would definitely go back.
