Piscine très agréable Qq coupures d'électricité qui n'étaient pas dues à l'hôtel mais aux infrastructures ! Heureusement que l'hôtel a un générateur.

• Philipp (9/5): - Freundliches Personal, schöne gepflegte Anlage mit wenigen Zimmern. Strand nur wenige Meter entfernt, ansonsten gibt es auch einen Pool. Frühstück war gut, es kann auch Abendbrot bestellt werden. Klimaanlage vorhanden, war allerdings laut und etwas störend.

Nous sommes venus avec notre bébé, et c’est bien le seul hôtel qui disposait de jouets pour elle. Elle a pu jouer dans le sable, dans la piscine car elle avait pied et ça, c’est vraiment super cool. • Gray (10/5): - Very well thought out property with everything you could possible need. Georgia and Daniel the owners are on sight to help you will anything that you need. The property in a 2min walk from what is probably one of my now favorite beaches in zanzibar. It's of the tourist track so nice a quiet but has a few other properties you can have meals at. The property can arrange everything that you need from transfers to tours. Highly recommend this property. The staff are some of the best trained staff I've met in Zanzibar. The restaurant food was really good and I actually had nearly all my meals there.

Etwas außerhalb der großen Touristen-Massen, was uns sehr gut gefallen hat. Das Personal war super lieb und hat für einen rundum gelungenen Aufenthalt gesorgt! Zwischenzeitlich gab es weder Wasser und Strom. Uns hat das nicht groß gestört. Man sollte sich einfach darauf einstellen, da es auf der ganzen Insel dazu kommen kann.

• Marco (10/5): - Struttura ottima, immersa nel verde, pulita, con piscina, letto comodissimo, pulizia giornaliera della camera, colazione buonissima e super abbondante, personale sempre gentile e disponibile, un grazie particolare ai proprietari, Daniele e Giorgia, sempre accoglienti, gentili e premurosi, pronti a dare sempre i migliori consigli sulle cose più belle da fare a da vedere per vivere al meglio la propria vacanza a Zanzibar. Come zona direi che è eccellente, la spiaggia di Matemwe è proprio difronte, perfetta e tranquilla per passeggiare, a 10 minuti di motorbike si trova la spiaggia di Kiwenga (con più movimento ma abbastanza tranquilla) e a 40 minuti c'è la spiaggia di Nguwi, zona molto più turistica e più affollata. Ci ritornerei.

Estaba tapada y solo salía un chorro muy fino por el medio. Es extraño porque hay MUCHO personal de limpieza, mantenimiento y seguridad. Están limpiando todo el tiempo. Sin embargo, hay detalles como este que se pasan por alto.

• Elvera (10/5): Relaxed home away from home - We really enjoyed our 7night stay at Kiganja. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. With just 8 rooms it felt very relaxed at all times. The beach is just at the other side of the road. The pool and the pool area was a nice place to relax. The rooms were clean and had everything you need. Georgia helped with arranging transfers, and referred us to the local Dive School. Good to see the focus on sustainability. Breakfast was a nice combo of fresh fruit, home made cakes and, fresh juice, coffee and eggs/crepes made upon request. The visiting bush babies every evening were a joy! We had a great time here. Thanks for having us!! During our stay there were some building works going nearby. Not something they can do something about, but it brought some noise in a (I think otherwise) quiet area.

• Valérie (7/5): Un bel endroit - L'établissement est très beau, avec son jardin luxuriant, sa piscine, ses chaises longues, et invite à la détente. Il est proche de la plage et du village. Les propriétaires sont très gentils et disponibles. J'ai adoré voir des galagos au restaurant. Il n'y avait qu'une chaise pour 3 sur la terrasse, nous perdions la wifi à chaque coupure de courant ( plusieurs fois par jour) et il fallait aller embêter les propriétaires pour la récupérer, il y avait une fuite d'eau dans la salle de bain et nous devions marcher dans une petite flaque quand nous allions aux toilettes, la pression sous la douche était quasi inexistante ce qui rendait très compliqué le lavage de nos cheveux longs...

The staff were so helpful and accomodating and let us checkout late so that we could shower after our morning snorkeling trip. There were cute animals around the property - like a bushbaby, their pet cats, and adorable flying fox bats! The proximity to the beach is a bonus, it was so relaxing and healing. Everything was perfect!

The retreat is tastefully designed, with a lush garden and cozy spaces that make you feel relaxed from the moment you arrive. The food was simple but fresh and satisfying – a good match for the relaxed and homey vibe of the place. What really made our stay special was the incredible hospitality. The lovely family that runs Kiganja creates a truly warm and personal atmosphere – you feel more like a guest in a home than a tourist. This is a perfect alternative to large resorts and mass tourism. If you’re searching for a peaceful, authentic Zanzibar experience with heart – we absolutely recommend Kiganja Retreat. No complaints

The hotel is a one minute walk from the beach where there are other restaurants and many beautiful fun exciting activities to do. Charming place with only 8 rooms, perfect for couples to enjoy. Short walk to the beach, only 1 minute and you are on perfect white sand beach long kilometers on left and right side. Really recommend this place, like it.

Convenient for Matemwe trip. Swimming pool was not operational due to pump problems, which we regretted. Also, the shower was rundown with very small trickle of water.

The staff was exeptionally friendly and did not hesitate for anything we requested. The location was super and absulutely what we needed. Breakfast was great, the service super and the lunch / dinner was really tasty. Our needs were met and there is absoutely nothing to complain about.

She let me keep the room the day I was leaving. She also got me a free bicycle from another hotel She also organised with the chef to make me some vegetarian meals that weren't on the menu Added delight was a visit from a wild bush baby every evening that comes down for a banana in the restaurant The only down side is access to the beach isn't direct, but it's only a few minutes walk along the road

• Lauren (10/5): A beautiful stay. - This property is absolutely beautiful! If you love quietness and being surrounded by nature then I highly recommend booking a stay here. The owners are very lovely, warm and helpful and the rooms are really comfortable and have a lovely view into the main pool area. The beach is about a 1 minute walk behind the property and has some restaurants on it. This is located on a very quiet beach so it’s perfect of this is the experience you are seeking. I think it would helpful if the dinner menu wasn’t set . If someone has food intolerances/ allergies it can be quite restrictive as you can’t choose anything else.

• David (9/5): Fantastic hotel - Possibly my dream hotel in the price bracket! 8 rooms and 8 pairs of sunbeds, very nice rooms with fridge kettle and Aircon, the mozzie net was the executive type with side panels and no drooping! No bugs were seen in our room during our stay. Nice bathroom with hot water. Balcony overlooking the pool. No disco music, hooray😀. I thought the food prices were cheaper than the beach places drinks were average prices nice helpful owners too. Oooooh I can't say nothing......how about putting beer glasses in the fridge. Great hotel!
• Ling-an (7/5): Nice Local village vibe - Located inside of the local fishing village which you get some fresh seafood from the fisherman and hanging out with locals. Wifi and AC work great and strong. Offer fridge and water boilers. Very quiet. The room feels a bit small and has a few of mosquitos. Its pretty remote if you don’t have a transport. Food options are a bit limited and pricy from the restaurant.

The resort is ran by an Italian couple who make you feel as though you're welcome and you're family from the moment you walk through the gate. The food is so delicious.. Try anything you won't be disappointed. Georgia is so quick at offering many amazing things to do on the island.. And ask her about the cute bush babies you can feed in the evening 😍 The rooms are up todate.. Water pressure is amazing and a/c blows cold.. The beds are so comfortable. I've been to Zanzibar sooo many times and this is hands down one of my favourite places now. I will definitely be back. Feels like you're in paradise. The resort is quiet Nd relaxing. And in less than a minute walk your on the white sand beach. I loved everything.

We also enjoyed all the local villagers and even had a couple of the “beach boys” take us out snorkeling and swimming with the dolphins. Spectacular adventure and our kids loved it. Highly recommend it and very affordable and felt safe and well taken care of

The people, working in the restaurant are attentive to details (opened my bottle, refilled the juice or helps to remove the bee from the table, silly stupid things but they truly took care of me) I ate here the best pancake on the island - it wasn’t oily and partially raw. They serve the scrambled eggs like a carpaccio - love it too! And the morning goey bites, were lovely! I loved the atmosphere of the entire accommodation, I had a tricky issue in the swimming pool - watch your step, one of the side is so deep 😆 The bed is so large and comfy, I slept like a baby. It was difficult to cool down the room temperature and I had just mild or hot water in the shower and I like to cold here.

• Magnus (10/5): Exceptional - Georgia were the best host, we learn so much about the soul and mentality of zanzibar, priceless. Clean, well kept rooms surounded the oasis of the place. A few steps from the long stretch beach o matemwe. Zanziblue with 5star food a stonethrow away. Minor non working details of maintanance (mostly waterrelated) as always on zanzibar.

Great location too, with little beach shacks selling delicious lunches nearby Air conditioning wasn’t very cold.

The families with kids and the couldples can always find their needs for relax. maybe storage place for clothers
• Anonymous (10/5): If you are looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing, Kiganja is the place to stay! - The moment we arrived, we felt at peace and it didn’t take long to feel relax and at home. The staff were so accommodating as we arrived very early and they managed to get our room sorted (well before check in time!). Have to complement the chef, we dined there on several occasion, although slow in service, the food was so delicious. We didn’t have a single bad meal there! Breakfast was simple and basic but the cakes, pastries and tropical fruits were divine! wifi access was good as well and easy access to the beach! Georgina was a wealth of knowledge of the area and was able to organize and suggest tours for our family with little time. Nothing!

The place had all the comfort in the room and also outside with the pool and restaurant. The location is a little bit outside the city so you can not easily go to something like a supermarkt

• Maria (10/5): Quiet paradise - Everything was perfect. Quiet and relaxing place to stay. Very comfortable and clean. Food is fresh and everyone is very nice. If you choose the half board you don’t have an option on food. There is only the menu for the day. I’m lactose intolerant myself and of course they had that in consideration during my stay. I was offered always the same fruits for desert at dinner but I wish they had put an effort on making a lactose free desert at least once.

Daniele & Georgia, the owners, go out of their way to give helpful recommendations and make your stay as memorable as possible. The location is quiet, peaceful and perfect to relax in. The pool and grounds are cleaned daily and the set dinner is great value for money. All in all, a fantastic place. I loved how quiet the location is but didn't realise how spread out things are in this part of Zanzibar - driving is your best bet to get around.
