The location is fantastic, just a short stroll to Trafalgar Street, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and lovely walks. The accommodation is cosy, stylish, private and thoughtfully put together, with great attention to detail throughout - they have thought of everything! Their Garden Room was indeed its own little bit of paradise situated amongst their pretty gardens. They have meticulously thought of every detail in what they provide in the room, how they’ve decorated and how they support their guests from a warm welcome to helping with local recommendations to insuring we had our own personal breakfast spread for our early departure. Our favorite stay so far during our month in NZ! If it’s available, don’t hesitate. Someone else may be the lucky one to grab it!

Unser Zimmer hat quasi über Nacht Weihnachtsschmuck bekommen😅. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker, Mark hatte auch gute Tipps für uns und wir haben uns wie zu Hause gefühlt. Sehr gefreut haben haben wir uns auch über das kühle Bier zur Begrüßung- erst mal relaxen haben die beiden gesagt … das ist Urlaub ☺️100% Weiterempfehlung!

• Manuela (10/5): Tolle Unterkunft mit perfekter Lage - Wir wurden sehr herzlich von Marc und John empfangen und uns wurde alles nötige erklärt und Tipps für Unternehmungen und Restaurants gab es auch. Wir hatten die Garden Rooms. Ein separates Haus als Schlafzimmer und eins als Wohnzimmer. Leider waren wir nur kurz dort und konnten das gar nicht voll ausnutzen. Der Garten ist traumhaft schön. Morgens gab es ein leckeres gekochtes Frühstück. Die Unterkunft liegt sehr zentral und trotzdem sehr ruhig. In wenigen Minuten ist man zu Fuß im Ort, wo es viele gute Restaurants gibt. Die einen Ausflug in den Abel Tasman Nationalpark der perfekte Ausgangspunkt. Wir haben uns sehr voll und willkommen gefühlt. Alles perfekt.

The salubrious and plentiful breakfast provided each morning. The quirky garden but most of all we enjoyed the company of Mark and John who are friendly, hilarious and make you feel so welcome. Mark is an artist and sells his ceramic works from his home studio...it is fabulous and we loved that his delightful work was featured throughout the property. Mark and John are also very knowledgeable about the best spots to see around town and further afield. Do not hesitate...book a room you will be super impressed...this is The G.O.A.T ( Greatest of all Time) of any accommodation we have ever stayed at both internationally or back at home in Australia.These guys deserve every accolade and award...100/100!!! Absolutely nothing at all...this beautiful BnB is absolutely flawless.

We especially liked the fact that we could sit in the garden outside our room after a day of sightseeing. The rooms are beautifully decorated. The only issue I had being a person with disabilities, is that could have done with having a hand rail to step on to the steps to the garden room.

They provide everything you need and make you feel at home. The breakfast they provide is great, the room is comfortable, shower is nice and big, everything is clean and well kept, their yard/garden is beautiful, and restaurants and shops are walking distance. If I were to return to Nelson in the future, I would absolutely stay here again.

So much thought put into making the accommodation comfortable and inviting, a great hot breakfast every morning and such interesting and accommodating hosts. Nothing was too much trouble, they thoroughly deserve all the awards they have won. Our visit was too short.

• Christine (10/5): Exceptional - What a super place to stay - lovely large apartment with everything you might need or want and some. A fabulous garden with loads of things to see & experience with options of places to relax. We had a yummy cooked breakfast to start our day. Mark, John & Bella top it off perfectly - fabulous hosts very welcoming, friendly & informative who very much respect your privacy. Ah house is situated in Central Nelson with private parking. Restaurants, cafes, shops & Cathedral only couple hundred metres away. I think next time I would like to try a garden room, I imagine it to be kind of like glamping. I really do hope it is not too long before we go there again.

• Colin (9/5): As good as it can be. Highly recommended - Mark and John’s delightful and welcoming B&B has won awards, and no wonder. It is close to perfection, and great value. The house is on a quiet street, with free parking outside, and just a five-minute walk along a leafy path to the main restaurant area of Nelson, and the shops beyond. We had the garden rooms, two adjacent, cosy and well-insulated cabins on a wooden terrace. One comprises the bedroom and bathroom, the other a lounge with microwave, coffee etc. Both have TVs. Provision of extras is outstanding, as if the hosts have envisaged every guest need. We found plug adapters, a torch, umbrellas, hats, books, CDs, scissors and maps. For anything not there, just ask. The quirky garden is lovely, filled with plants, pots, lights and ceramics. The main house full of character and charm. The cooked breakfast was good, eggs, bacon and tomatoes, plus toast, fruit and cereal (muesli would be welcome as standard). There are plenty of information leaflets, and Mark is a friendly but not intrusive host, able to give good advice about local restaurants and places to visit. The only slight deficiency is that the bathroom is small, with an OK shower, tiny basin and cartridge toilet - the type one finds in a mobile home, emptied daily by our hosts. But we got used to this.
• Andrew (10/5): We will be back (again) - Mark and John are the ultimate hosts who cannot do enough for you to make your stay memorable and comfortable. A breakfast is served that is tailored to the guest requests. Nothing. The room we use has a chemical toilet, which was fully expected and disclosed throughout the booking process and is cleaned daily.

• Clark (10/5): Impressive, the pictures don't live up to it. - An astonishingly well appointed and comfortable place to relax. We stayed in the garden rooms, and were delighted with the two spaces---one to sleep, and one to lounge, as well as a choice of tables & chairs in the garden for enjoying a glass of wine. Easy walking distance to downtown Nelson with lots of restaurant and shopping options. Mark and John were just wonderful, accommodating yet unobtrusive. Breakfast was amazing. We were delighted, so nothing.

• Steven (10/5): Extremely enjoyable! - The property has flare and uniquely decorated. Everywhere you turned, there was something new to discover. The room was spacious and comfortable! Breakfast was fantastic. Mark prepared anything we wanted. Our hosts, Mark and John, were delightful to talk with and provided helpful information which improved our travel plans. Nothing needed improvement. Wish we could have stayed longer!

A lovely, yummy breakfast is presented in the morning (their berry jam was berry good, made with fruits from their garden). The location is perfect being near the centre of Nelson. The garden apartment was spacious, warm and spotlessly clean and well equipped. The super king bed was exceptionally comfortable. All round a wonderful stay and definitely a place to stay again. This is only a tinsy wee niggle, but maybe offer a later breakfast time to 9am for us late risers!

The shower runs on gas so we had a cold shower until we realized it needed to be changed, no big deal but just an FYI for future travelers
