- Melanie (10/5): Most comfortable beds & delicious meals! - What a wonderful treat in the heart of St. Paul! We enjoyed our stay in the Carriage House, which was perfect for our group of three. The beds were so comfortable, I might replace my own with this brand of mattress.
For our family, it was wonderful to have a choice of 3 breakfasts. There was certainly something for everyone! The service was amazing and I highly recommend staying at the Historic District B&B. I can't wait to visit again.
- Jeff (10/5): - Amazing character in this beautifully kept up historic house! The room we stayed in was quaint and the bed very comfortable. Complimentary Starbucks is always a bonus. 5 stars!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great history, beautiful building, and wonderful location!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This lovely home is outstanding in every way! The owner is an absolute delight! Can't say enough good things about our stay here!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We attended our sons college graduation and were so happy we chose to stay here versus a hotel. The house is amazing, the suite was meticulously clean, bed comfortable. Kevin made a gourmet breakfast and delivered it to our room. We may never stay in a hotel in the cities again! Highly recommend.
- Tatnai (10/5): Comfort and elegance is in the details - The sheets were super soft, towels were thick and large, good toilet paper, options for breakfast, flowers in the front yard to beautify the grounds, and access to Hulu, Netflix and other apps like that to watch whatever you want and it is under the host's name. So if you don't have an account no worries. The rich blue fabric on the head of the bed, complimentary lamps, and fancier bathroom gives this place am upscale feel. Also, complimentary beverages and snacks available at all times of day. Also everything was very clear .
- Barb (10/5): - We loooooved our stay at the Historic Bed and Breakfast. Kevin was a great host! Delicious breakfasts, great conversation, really accommodating. We had 2 dogs with us, and he made us feel so welcome....even writing a welcome note to our dogs on the fridge in our room. And one day we came back to fresh chocolate chip cookies!
The house itself is gorgeous, and our room had an old, claw foot tub! Real beautiful, original details. The neighborhood was also gorgeous with stunning old homes. It was a great, quiet, safe neighborhood to walk the dogs at all times of day and night and take in the scene. Great restaurants were walking distance from the hotel, and the major event arena (concerts, etc) was a mile into town, and we walked it (caution, it is uphill coming back!).
For anyone with dogs....Minnehaha park has the BEST dog park I have ever seen, with off leash trails and swimming in the Mississippi. The zoo and many other attractions are free. We were just passing through for a few days, road tripping, but I wish we could have stayed longer.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was in a great location and lovely for evening walks
- kevin (10/5): Weekend getaway - Awesome breakfast 👍
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Our room was comfortable and quiet. The location was convenient, within walking distance of the Cathedral Hill area restaurants. And Kevin was the perfect host. He had our room ready and waiting for our early arrival, and he served us an early (delicious) breakfast the next morning before we headed back to the airport. Highly recommend!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Enjoyed the 1890s ambience, chatting with the host, and the quiet, comfortable bed.
- Joseph (10/5): - First off I wanted to thank Kevin proprietor/owner. The property is managed very well. The home is very beautiful inside and out , very clean very organized. Beautiful big windows to look out from. We stayed in the suite and outdoor patio to sit out and have a drink enjoy the weather. The suite is very large very roomy has its own bathroom shower refrigerator two TVs AC. I will most definitely be staying here when I visit St. Paul in the future. I highly recommend. The only thing I didn't like was that I couldn't get my lazy butt up to enjoy breakfast that Kevin had prepared very sad about that . Even though we missed hot meal Kevin left banana bread garnished with fruit on a plate . Thanks again Kev.
- Lisa (10/5): Perfect getaway - Loved the B & B it was fantastic
- Kenneth (10/5): Amazing all around - Host / Owner Kevin was amazing...met us at the door...gave us some good tips for getting around the area and he had great breakfast options each day...highly regarded...will stay with next time in St. Paul

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Kevin made us feel at home. Breakfast was great. Good area.
- Marc (10/5): This Place Was Truly Exceptional in Every Respect - This place is exceptional. From the beautiful wood throughout the house to the attention to details by our host Kevin it was a marvelous stay. What was most impressive was Kevin's breakfasts including fresh fruit and fresh brewed coffee to specially made entrees. Very, very impressive. We felt right at home and look forward to staying there again should we travel to St. Paul.
Thank you Kevin for a wonderful stay and being a gracious host.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had an excellent two-night stay. Kevin was an excellent host who made fantastic breakfasts. We will definitely return to this B & B the next time we are in the Twin Cities.
- Mike (10/5): - Great property, great neighborhood and best of all Kevin is a terrific host and chef!
- Christine (10/5): Great stay - We stayed before a concert. The overall visit was awesome from the host to the room and environment. Breakfast was amazing. Would stay again and again
- Alison (10/5): All the comforts of home plus more! - Kevin was amazing from his warm greeting to his 5 star breakfast… it is just such a cozy and comfortable stay with all of his attention to detail! Definitely will refer others and Hope to return in future.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We liked everything about our stay at Historic District Bed and Breakfast. The house was beautiful, our room was spacious, clean and well appointed, the host was friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help us with any needs, and the food was incredible. We hope to stay again sometime soon!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful B&B - Kevin was very welcoming and accommodating with our check-in time. Wonderful breakfast! Highly recommend!
- Jean (10/5): - Kevin communicated with me beforehand so I knew about the code, parking, etc. He was helpful in filling is in on local attractions and restaurants. The breakfast was delicious and the company stimulating!
- B&B (10/5): - The property was close to the EXCEL Center and restaurants . Easy access to UBER to avoid driving and parking.
- Frank (10/5): Wonderful Experience! - Couldn't have asked for a better experience on my business trip to St. Paul. Kevin, the owner of the BnB was friendly and accommodating. Service was outstanding and breakfast was delicious both mornings during my two night stay.
Location is great. Quiet and safe area with many wonderful restaurants and bars within a 10 minute walking distance.
- Jacob (10/5): - Had an amazing stay. Made a good connection with Kevin (host). Amazing hospitality.
- John (10/5): - Friendly host and comfortable room. Wonderful historic location next to great food.
- Thomas (10/5): Loved our stay... - We really enjoyed our stay...our hosts were the best...great breakfast...rooms were clean...i would recommend this B&B TO any one...
- Elizabeth (10/5): AMAZING Bed and Breakfast! - This venue is one of the best experiences we have! The room itself with comfy bed was amazing, cozy yet spacious. The house was awesome. The location was great. Kevin and Holly were the absolute best hosts! The breakfast was simply one of the best! I loved all of it!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The owner/chef was very personable without being intrusive. He was knowledgeable about the history of his building and made sure we understood how heating, bath, and electronics worked.
We stayed two nights and had a choice of breakfasts both days that did not overlap. Fresh fruit was included with both meals. There was off-street parking, which we used.
We will recommend the facility to friends and family coming to visit and will return ourselves at some point. It is our understanding that the number of customers drops in the winter months. If you are looking for an off-season place to stay in St. Paul, try this facility because you might have a great old home almost to yourselves.
- Ryan (10/5): Great Spot! Comfortable, Convenient, Hospitable - This was our first stay at a bed and breakfast and it exceeded my expectations. Parking was convenient with two offstreet spots through the alley as well as onstreet parking out front. Kevin was there to greet us and show us to our room. He offered some suggestions of places to try for dinner which was greatly appreciated.
We stayed in the Johnston Suite which had a separate living room with a couple couches and a large tv, a mini fridge, attached bath, private screened in porch, and a comfortable king sized bed.
We stayed at the Historic B&B to attend a concert at the Xcel Energy Center. It’s located in a really cool historic neighborhood with restaurants only two blocks away on Selby. Getting downtown was really convenient, just a short drive down the hill.
Breakfast was amazing: fresh fruit, muffins, orange juice, and coffee on the table with sweet, savory, and healthy menu options available. My wife ordered the blueberry pancakes which were incredible. I ordered a savory waffle made with quinoa, asparagus, and cheese, and was topped with lemon butter and a raspberry jam. It was amazing!
I would highly recommend the Historic B&B.
- Dale (10/5): - Kevin was a great host: made us feel at home, great info on local activities, and delicious breakfasts. The house is beautiful and in a great location for exploring the Twin Cities.
