- Paul (8/5): Awesome stay - Lovely time here and staff were wonderful..
Very impressed with the rooms and service received
- Bernadette (6/5): - The property was covered in unsightly scaffolding. The outside area was unkempt, tables not wiped down, unemptied ashtrays. The Receptionist wasn’t friendly. I know the check-in is 4pm, we got to the property at 2.45, and despite the place being deserted, she would not check un in until 4. That’s just pedantic.
- Angela (10/5): - Would definitely recommend this hotel to others and when needed will book another stay.

- katerina (10/5): - Waited nearly an hour, far too long, for dinner to be cooked and ended up with no dinner. We were told that there was a problem in the kitchen....
Breakfast though was fantastic.
Overall very good experience. Clean rooms and friendly staff. The place is beautiful.
- Angie (10/5): - Stunning location within the grounds of Buckfastleigh Abbey. Complete tranquility with the exception of the bells of the Abbey ringing.
The hotel restaurant was superb.
Accessibility for wheelchair users was exceptional.
All staff were kind and courteous - nothing was too much trouble!
Smooth surfaces (including the car park) made wheelchair use easy and comfortable.
Our room was spacious and comfortable, and well equipped.
Cannot think of any negatives, and well most definitely be returning in the future.
- Matt (8/5): - The property is lovely. Clean, spacious rooms. Pretty setting. Lovely decor throughout. Very nice breakfast with lots of variety. Staff very friendly and accommodating to requests. Did run out of some items at breakfast on the last day (yoghurt, pastries) as a large group came to eat together, but that was the only negative point.

Fantastic buffet breakfast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Overall our stay was excellent. The reception staff and restaurant staff extremely helpful and polite. The food was very good but prices rather expensive.
Our room was comfortable, clean and tidy, although we found it rather hot.
- Rosemary (10/5): - This is a beautiful hotel, very caring staff, double room was spacious with lots of storage and hanging facility if you were staying for more than 1 night. We were on the ground floor our ensuite had the shower option of overhead or normal shower attachment. Lovely white bath sheet and hand towel each with bath mat. Very clean throughout. The breakfast buffet for an English was plentiful, juice, yogurts, cereal, toast, tea and coffee and all cooked very well. They offer an evening meal but we we did not take up this option this time. I would highly recommend and made my husbands night as he took his telescope into the Abbey grounds.
- Annette (10/5): - Wonderful place to stay
- Duncan (8/5): - Stayed for one night, nice room, good parking and short walk to a nice country pub.
- chris (10/5): Wedding - Very satisfied with our stay
- Timothy (8/5): Short Buckfast weekend - Lovely, helpful staff and a beautiful setting, rooms well kitted out, but any noise from the corridor is really clear in the room if anyone was outside.

- James (10/5): - Lovely place, beautiful abbey
- ROSEMARY (8/5): - Everyone was very helpful and friendly. The room had everything that it needed. The surroundings were so green and peaceful. The only small downside was that the mattress and pillows were very firm and thus less comfortable than I'd have liked.
- Andrew (10/5): - Will definitely stay here again.
- Anna (10/5): - Wonderful stay
- Robert (10/5): - Lovely hotel. Beautifully and simply furnished with quality and style which combines to create a harmonious and restful environment. Total joy.
- Donald (10/5): - Nice spot. Quiet. Adjoining abby grounds and convention center are spectacular.
- Patricia (10/5): Excellent accommodation and breakfast - We really enjoyed our stay at Northgate House. Our room was spacious, well-appointed and had everything we needed and a comfortable bed. There were toiletries each day, tea, coffee and biscuits replenished daily. The bathroom was spacious and the shower lovely. One tiny thing - the loo seat was loose.
The hotel sits in the grounds of Buckfast Abbey and we were fortunate to walk around the gardens in the evening when no one else was there, so lovely and peaceful.
The breakfast each day was really good, with plenty of choice.
The staff are excellent, polite and attentive.
We would definitely stay there again and can't recommend it highly enough.
- Darren (10/5): - Excellent place to stay to experience the serenity of the Abbey close by and explore the surrounding areas.

- Joy (10/5): - The staff have been the kindest and most friendly here. We loved the spacious and modern room and amenities.
- Aiden (8/5): - Great staff, excellent food and well priced. Only negative being the beds mattress wasn't the best.
- Peter (10/5): - A quiet, nice sized hotel, neither too big nor too small, with a light and airy dining room/breakfast room and a very well designed hotel bedroom with plenty of storage space. There were also areas to sit outside, weather permitting, accessible from within the hotel, both at ground level and first floor level. The hotel was within easy walking distance of where we wanted to be and I would thoroughly recommend as a good place to stay.
- Francis (10/5): - Spotlessly clean, excellent food, friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly, helpful staff. Good food and service. Clean and comfortable. Wonderful location for a peaceful stroll after a hard day at work.
- Gyula (8/5): - Stayed for one night, room was spacious and clean, though it was very warm (even with radiators turned off). Bed was ok but could do with better pillows (one is way too flat, two way too much). Overall it’s a hood place, and might consider stay there again.
- Dick (10/5): - All wonderful, no complaints.
- Neil (10/5): - Great place to stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): Relaxing - I knew as soon as i walked into reception that it would be excellent and i would be going again in the spring.

- Alex (10/5): Amazing - Really good experience!
- Michael (10/5): Northgate House - a lovely place to stay - Similar to the service we have experienced on previous stays - always aboslutely immaculate. Room standard, cleanliness, breakfast service, reception...all respects. I think it's great standard for the price, which is reasonable for the sort of luxury and comfort you get. Previously, when we've opted for evening meals, the menus have been delicious and inventive - and the hotel's standards never seemed to waver, even at the height of the covid epidemic (part of what also makes it great is the ambience - peaceful surroundings of the Abbey and its precincts. Personally, having stayed in a monastic environment, it retains that slight 'safe' and spiritual feeling of being on a retreat, too - though without the austerity - e.g. with Christian iconography and interesting historic prints and pictures in each room + photos of the abbey in communal areas.) Keep it up! My grading is 'EXCELLENT'
- Geoff (10/5): Excellent hotel highly recommend - Excellent place to stay lovely location our room was very clean and pleasant decor, very quiet and comfortable.
Food was excellent and the staff were fabulous nothing was to much trouble.
- Paul (10/5): Second Stay - Check in good. Plenty of parking. Room well furnished and extremely clean (recleaned and restocked every day). Evening meals and breakfasts excellent and plenty of choice. Lots of places to visit with many close at hand. Staff all very helpful and accomodating and when we had to extend our stay went out of their way to make the necessary arrangements. All in all the hotel and it's staff made in a wonderful break.

- Hilary (10/5): A perfect hotel for visiting the family in Devon - This is a very comfortable hotel. It doesn't pretend to be luxurious and that is to its credit as it is not pretentious but open and friendly.
All the rooms were spotlessly clean. The bathroom with its wet room shower worked perfectly and the bed was very comfortable.
Buckfast Abbey was very pleasant to visit, lovely inside.
- Anthony (10/5): Northgate - We had a 2 night stay at the Northgate, there was nothing to fault staff were friendly hotel was spotless and food was great. Locstion was excellent to explore Dartmoor.Definitely will go again.
