Guest Reviews
- steven (1/5): Absolutely rubbish - Having to sit in our room with our coats on, room was freezing, heating wasn’t working and when i suggested moving us to a room that the heating was working I got no response, was promised the heat would be on when we came back after being to the restaurant and it takes about an hour and a half to come through??? Never heard such rubbish, but after we arrived back up to room (room still freezing) coats back on, decided to go to bed about 10.30, imagine paying nearly 200 pounds for 4 star accommodation then having to put a long sleeve jumper on going to bed as it was still freezing, absolutely disgusted with this place
- Sarah (7/5): - Ambiance of the hotel and bedrooms are all very stylist and beautiful. We arrived late on a Friday evening due to work commitments. By 20:30 there was absolutely no one about the hotel, the restaurant and bar both had been closed. Even people passing by wanting to stop for a drink were turned away. We had asked to have late check out didn't get a response, we had also asked for breakfast to be brought to the room to be told that the employee couldn't arrange that as he was only new and we would have to arrange it at 8am in the morning by going to reception. For the price of a one night stay I would not say that it is worth it at all.
- Tony (4/5): We were disappointed with the Hotel...not Port Stewart town/coast...they are " musts" - Staff polite and courteous. Manager apologetic and keen to compensate with a " Special coffee." Room 29. A stuffy/stale air smell on opening door to room.
No windows in room to view and ventilate fresh air or access light from outside.
Poor drainage of bathroom's wash basin.
Breakfast tea, served weak and tepid and srambled eggs overcooked. Orange and Cranberry morning juice drinks were both watered down.
- Guest (9/5): Very nice stay excellant staff - Very good breakfast location vey good There was nothing we didn’t like
- paul (10/5): Great and relaxing - Great place to stay. Bright colours and comfy Cant fault it
- Mcdaid (10/5): - Great place. Mash was very pleasant and made us feel very welcome
- Mark (10/5): Loved it ! - Everything about this place was just great, from the moment we walked through the doors it felt awesome. The staff were so helpful and so courteous the decor needs to be seen to be believed and the food was perfect. Not a single thing.
- Guest (7/5): - Good location and modern decor A bit dark
- Alan (7/5): Lots of funky decor best for younger generation - The general manager was very helpful
and friendly. The serving staff were also very polite and helpful. Manager attended to request for heating promptly.
The decor is amazing and gives a very distinctive vibe to the place. We were in a room without a window ( had window onto dining room) which we found disconcerting.
Breakfast had to be ordered item by item - fruit juice / toast etc etc would have preferred more to come as a matter of course or a small buffet table
- W (9/5): Great stay - Great breakfast, staff very helpful and friendly
- JOHN (2/5): Slightly disappointing stayover - Staff were helpful
Good breakfast
Very good shower facility
Bed was comfortable Room wasn't cleaned with hoover positioned outside our room, no 23 when we were given the key and proceeded to enter.
Bed linen was soiled
Wardrobe mirror door RHS was cracked at top
Later, we discovered the wash hand basin didn't drain properly
For the cost of the room, I expected it to be slightly more luxurious as compared to other hotels of similar size
Also, the ambience wasn't what I expected. Very quiet and very few guests?
We had booked a meal elsewhere and returned to the hotel after 9.30-10pm and discovered that the bar had closed? No residents bar facilities?
After speaking with reception staff we were served a nightcap.
Only one other couple were present in the bar/foyer area?

- Guest (1/5): Never again. We - Leaving a few hours after we checked in. Didn’t stay the night and obviously didn’t stay for breakfast Throw on bed covered in stains. Excrement in toilet. Filthy. Can believe this is a hotel booking.com should recommend!!

- Helen (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff.
Beautiful hotel
- Doherty (2/5): Disappointing dirty bad service at the bar and reception and not work the money paid - Decor in the bar and halls Room wasn’t clean, bulbs not working and room was dirty.booked a deluxe room and was out in a basic room.was changed to a different room but wasn’t much better.this hotel should not be 4 stars
So disappointing
- Rosemarie (9/5): Beautiful beautique hotel, super friendly staff - Breakfast was excellent Nothing
- George (9/5): A wonderful experience -
- Stephen (4/5): Not impressed - Good location Paid an extra £100 for parking/ champagne and high speed internet.
Arrived and there was no parking left in allocated parking area.😤
Checked in and went up to the room and there was no champagne 😤
And we never got any code for the high speed internet😤
We will not be back to this hotel…

- Kathleen (9/5): Had a wonderful stay and staff were so helpful .. just excellent - Clean and friendly Nothing to comment
- Stuart (1/5): Bad -
- Judith (8/5): Quirky decor, lovely food & staff, damp lift - Decor was quirky and beds super comfy. Nicole served us at both dinner and breakfast time and went above and beyond to make our mealtimes enjoyable. The lift had a damp smell; had trouble betting parked nearby despite one of the party having a disabled badge.
- Sarahjane (6/5): Have stayed in many places near this hotel and few they offer more value for money and better customer service and atten - Great location and decor Toilet dirty on arrival, sink blocked, no shower gel in bottle. No turn down service for either of the rooms that I had booked. Was able to move rooms but it was an inconvenience tbh. Felt there wasn’t that extra touch for the money of the rooms. Especially as it was for my daughter’s graduation.
- Peter (8/5): Enjoyable stay - Very individual interior design Friendly staff and good food and very comfortable room
- Faith (8/5): Very good -
- Jennifer (10/5): Very enjoyable and lovely staff especially our Mash at reception he was a real gem 😃👍 - Very clean Nothing
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Stuart (10/5): Exceptional - Good service, good staff , great location, what more needs said ?
- Nicole (10/5): Second anniversary - At first we where given a room with a bit of damage I wasn't going to complain but wanted to let them know just so they didn't think we had done it. Upon speaking to the manager Amesh (apologies if the name is spelled wrong) he got us a room which I can only describe as amazing it was very similar to our honeymoon suite so definitely fit for our second anniversary. Everything from the bed to double shower, the his and her sinks and a huge bath was absolutely fantastic. We where also given two glasses of prosecco which was a beautiful touch honestly Amesh went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful if you like an insta photo this is the place as there is just so many beautiful spots throughout. The food was absolutely beautiful I had to change after dinner as I was so full and was near busting out my dress honestly the creamiest mash I have ever had and the steak was cooked to perfection. The bar man Arian was also absolutely fantastic had a lovely conversation and was very attentive also partly to blame for my hangover this morning 🤣 all the staff at this hotel was fantastic and we will definitely be back. Thank you for a beautiful stay.
- Douglas (10/5): Excellent - The service from checking in to checking out exceptional 300% service will be back
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Joel (9/5): Superb -
- Sam (2/5): Ruined my night down to the fact that staff member embarrassed me . - Front desk staff brilliant!
How the staff dealt with my situation also very good. I was embarrassed by a member of staff in front of the entire beer garden , accusing me of having rolled up cannabis. It wasnt discreet or private it was very embarrassing and disrespectful.
- Kenneth (9/5): Break in north west - The resturant and food was go. Hotel in centre of Portstewtart. The staff were friendly and breakfast was served to the table which meant it was fresh. Hotel has owen carpark which was free Only criticism was the resturant staff slow
- Joseph (8/5): Very good -
- Perez (5/5): Beautiful but a really bad experience - It was a very beautiful hotel and our room was very big and beautiful. The bathroom was beautiful as well. Breakfast was really good. The room was not cleaned properly at all. We had a dirty bedside table and a used bottle in the shower. I thought it was a new one of there's because the bottles on the wall were empty. The shower did not drain fast enough and the cover of the drain was unattached floating around. We even had to go down stairs and ask the security guard at 7:00 am for more toilet paper. And mind you we didn't even check in until after 8pm yhe night before.
- Anthea (6/5): Pleasant -
- James (9/5): Superb - Breakfast was excellent, lovely decor.
- David (8/5): Very good - The room decor was very nice also rooms very quiet No shampoo in shower now window to let fresh air into the room
- Anonymous (9/5): Lovely staff. Great location but quite - Central clean and quite
- Duffy (10/5): Exceptional - Very quirky hotel, beautifully decorated lots to look at! I found it clean, and the bed,
and pillows were really comfy. The staff are lovely, extremely accommodating, and pleasant. We ate at the restaurant, and the food was exceptional highly recommended even if not staying as was the breakfast which was included. I would definitely stay again. I had no complaints whatsoever.
- Claire (8/5): Very good -
- Neil (10/5): Complete luxury -very speacial for us. Loved it. - It was just luxurious which is what we wanted - something special for our anniversary. Clean, comfortable and spacious with very friendly staff, really nice bar and restaurant.
- Doreen (9/5): It ticks all the boxes. - The staff at Me &Mrs Jones were exceptional. They were all pleasant, they engage with guests in a friendly, helpful, informative and professional way. The food was tasty and from a varied menu. The hotel is centrally located close to the sea and shops, restaurants and bars.
- Angela (10/5): Fabulous hotel to stay. - The Hotel is lovely. Its in a great location. Very friendly staff especially Katie in the dining room who was so efficient at her job. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Lovely cocktails and the food is excellent. Highly recommend this excellent hotel. Nothing
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good -
- Judith (8/5): Very good -
- Sian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Duggan (6/5): Pleasant - Service was slow, not enough staff. Waited 30 mins on a drink order and there was only a handful of people in the bar. Dinner that night we were seated and 30 mins later not a drink order even taken I had to call staff over. Breakfast the next morning I had near finished my breakfast before my wife’s arrived and she only wanted fruit and yoghurt. Food was beautiful though.
- Joanne (8/5): Very good -
- Catherine (6/5): Overall ok - Staff.. location.. breakfast Gaudy furniture.. bed uncomfortable
..noisy til 3am outside
- Gemma (6/5): Pleasant - The staff were lovely and very friendly. The bedding wasn't clean the runner at the bottom of the bed had a big stain. The actual duvet cover had some kind of white stain on it. One chair in the room for two people. Would have loved a kettle instead of the coffee machine as the water wasn't as warm as the kettle water.
- Gordon (9/5): Superb -
- Orla (10/5): Wow - Fantastic hotel in lovely location. Cocktails and food are amazing. The decor is beautiful and the staff are so friendly. Free parking. There was zero faults
- Shelley (8/5): Very good - This is are 3rd time staying in the property we love the different rooms
- Stephanie (8/5): A really nice experience in a cosy quirky hotel - Friendly efficient staff.Brilliant tasty breakfast A wider menu and perhaps a lite lunch menu would be beneficial

Our room was gorgeous, and the bed was the most comfortable one I've slept in ever!
Had the best night's sleep.
All the staff were so friendly & polite. Nothing
- Gerard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hollie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (3/5): Disappointed - The food and bar was lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful The rooms were very disappointing the first room had a very bad smell like a sewer was blocked so we were moved to a different room and this wasn't much better
No ventilation musty smell as it's never been used and not even a window to open so fresh air could be let in.On check out when we complained we were told the manager would phone us and it's now 5 days later and still waiting also handed me a bill on check out which I had already paid must say I booked this for my wife as a treat very expensive £169 on a Monday night she always wanted to stay here for a long time as it looked fantastic on the website but don't be fooled by their website overall it a massive let down
- Blair (8/5): Very good -
- Jordan (7/5): Good - I did request some floral arrangements for valentines and when we got to the room the door was open and there was nothing there.
- Leah (1/5): Bad - Nothing tbh apart from the aesthetics walking through the hotel got to room asked to changed got put in the smallest room available and having a deluxe XL then got to new room and it was absolutely freezing tries to close the blinds one didn't close down was exposed so had no privacy for me and my partner then went for dinner order 2 sirloins hardly a bit if meat in them absolutely no veg had to ask for veg and paid £5 for a SMALL bowl of vegetables meal came to £96 couldn't believe it then in the room my partner found dirty tissues behind the bed room still freezing BTW they turned it up 2 degrees literally got an early nite slept and left asa we could ohhhhhh not forgetting the 1990s tv that couldn't take a firestick stick had scart lead portals in it jesus christ the place that is sold to you online CERTAINLY is not what you get avoid at all costs..... From start to end
- Mark (10/5): Something else ❤️ - Was like a cave of wonders, boutique hotel but wow. All the little touches
- Cynthia (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (10/5): Best food I have ever tasted - We loved every minute. From when we walked into reception until we left. Brenda the lady at reception was fantastic. And all the staff was very friendly and excellent in there job roles.. the food was just out of this world. The best steak I have ever had in my life.. we will definitely be back
- Richard (7/5): Good -
- Claire-marie (10/5): Exceptional -

And friendly. We had an issue with the lock on the door of our
Room. When we told the receptionist our room number
She admitted they were aware of the problem with that
Particular room, answers as they were closed for a few days next week, issues like this would all be sorted out.

- Kevin (9/5): Are stay at the famous Me & Mrs Jone - The staff were exceptionally pleasant the room was beautifully set. The bed was fantastic.
The creme dela creme was the evening meal. We dined one night in Amici, which was outstanding. However, the chef at Me & Mrs Jones was at another level. All of the above
- Tanya (5/5): Interior(excellent) and experience (subpar) are at loggerheads. - Quirky and nice rooms. Room window broken, yes we were moved but like most the room then was either warm or too cold.
Staff seemed to not care, cursing at night while people in ear shot.
Breakfast was good, but an eye roll when asking for anything, and subsequently not asked again are you ok? Seems immature and slightly untrained with people management.
Disappointed when costly.
- Harry (7/5): I was not happy about the first room we where given. It was unclean the second room was amazing didn’t realise until t - Staff where friendly First room was unfit to stay in. 2nd room was great. Didn’t realise until the morning that our door didn’t lock!!
- Nicola (4/5): We love Me & Mrs Jones, but a few adjustments are necessary if the hotel wishes to maintain its reputation and prici - The super location, the beautiful decor and interior design, the friendly and accommodating staff, the comfortable bed, the cleanliness, the atmosphere. We’ve stayed a few times before and it’s a special place for us. Main issues: heating in the room in the morning, (the room was so cold - we went for breakfast at 9:30 and the heating still hadn’t come on), no ability to control the room temperature (2 appliances, neither seemed to work), no remote control for the tv so we couldn’t use the television (housekeeping helped us search the room, but unable to provide us with another). Minor issues: locks on bathroom and room door need to be fixed.
- Liz (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was very kind and approachable. Nothing was a problem.
- Orlaigh (9/5): Superb -
- Danielle (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel was absolutely beautiful. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was 5 star! Staff were very friendly and helpful with recommendations for both food and drink.
