Thom (8/5): A Quiet Place - The location and quiet. Comfortable bed. The only problem was an opening in the door that allowed insects to enter. I went to Lowe's and bought a strip to prevent air and insects from entering. I advised the front desk and left the role to use in case other doors needed the same. Damaged blind.

I was given a room number and code to a OCCUPIED room. It took at least 20 minutes to get back in contact with the front desk. Once I finally got a new room assigned we walked in to a HUGE spider. We turned around and left.

Sophia (4/5): - The location was fairly neat, but there’s no actual staff member present at the front desk or anywhere on the property. When we arrived, the room was very warm, so we texted about the air conditioner and were told the thermostat was on the wall. We turned it on, and it worked for about 15 minutes before shutting off. The next day, I texted to ask if an iron and ironing board were available but received no response. I also reached out again about the AC, as I kept waking up sweating — the room stayed at around 74 degrees all night, and the AC wouldn’t come on until about 10 a.m., only running briefly before turning off again. After three nights of uncomfortable sleep, I texted once more and was ignored until I contacted Hotels.com. To make a long story short, I stayed five nights without any room service, the room remained uncomfortably warm, and the lady on the monitor was unhelpful and confusing. It’s clear the AC unit is controlled by the motel staff, even though they make it seem like guests can adjust it themselves. The room was clean when we arrived. I asked to have clean sheets and the room cleaned after the 3rd night and was told that the lady is not available until my last night, which makes

Erin (6/5): Great price but it appears to have gone downhill. - Love the convenience. Office is well functioning even with no one present. Answered texts right away. Check in was a breeze We stayed here two years ago and I loved the garden and it was way cleaner. I feel it has been ignored and is not kept like it used to be. Blinds were broken, wall was exposed under window, grout in bathroom not clean, walls in bathroom were dirty. Garbage dumpster out front was surrounded by old trash. A dirty stray sock stayed in the parking lot for over a week.

A request to see the room, given the apparent state of the property, was refused. After cancellation a refund was requested but the management declined.

Stephanie (3/5): Would not stay here again, most especially not in the (garden view) rooms in back..... - The air conditioning kept the room temperature comfortable. Water pressure and hot water were sufficient. Other than that, staying at this property was pretty terrible. Hilltop appears to be under new management and honestly, it was pretty awful. I have stayed here before and assured my husband it was a quaint, updated, local family owned property. However... now it looks like any other run-down motel. Zero front desk on staff and only an automated answering service available. This room was on the back side, deceivingly called "garden view" and it looks and is super sketchy just being back there. When we opened the door it smelled SO damp and so musty, plus the walls were scuffed, stained, damaged with missing paint. We saw several spiders and webs. Our room was not clean; floors were dirty, there was a lot of mold in the shower and especially around the tub where the caulk meets the wall. No way could you safely take a bath in this place or put your kids in the tub. Shower curtain was dirty, ripped, missing rings and was mostly hanging by a thread. Room above us was so noisy. Very sketchy people here this time, and it also smelled of weed. Disgusting. Power went out on our first day.... when I FINALLY reached a live person and inquired if they had any updates for us, or info on when it would be back on.... a very rude woman answered, "we are not a public utility company. Power is out in the area." She added that, "you can just check out now if you want to." Unbelievable. Such a disappointment in every way, too many to list, even in just 2 nights. Very unfortunate, it used to be the singular standout to stay locally, run by a family who cared. Best part of this stay? Checking OUT. It was two days too many. And a 3 rating was kind, allowing for decent water pressure, hot water and AC. Otherwise, it's a firm NO for us.
Kyleann (9/5): Amazing - Love the location. It's super quiet and the price is great! It's our 3rd time staying here and we will be back. I don't remember the beds being a little uncomfortable and lower to the ground. Also I didn't like when I came back the second night that a car was parked right outside our door which was the farthest down. Each room has a parking spot out front of their doors. I had to park down farther. I like the car being right outside to easily take our belongings to and from the car.
Raymond (9/5): Hilltop Motel provides a relaxing and simplistic accommodation. - As always, the rate is wonderful and the accommodation was very comfortable. Had a good night's rest and the Roku TV and channels made me relaxed. The wifi was spot on. Nothing to whine about. Hilltop Motel is what it is yet, it's very comfortable and relaxing.
Olga (6/5): Pleasant - The motel is nicely tucked among trees, a bit away from the highway—very peaceful and quiet. The room was clean, the towels fresh, and the bed comfortable. I booked this motel because it was budget-friendly and had a 7.8 rating, but honestly, it deserves no more than a 6.The air conditioner is extremely loud — it turns on and off every 3-5 minutes with a banging noise. It's hard to sleep with that, but turning it off means sleeping in the heat. The fridge is also old, with chipped paint and thick ice inside. In the morning, it defrosted and leaked water all over the floor. The chair in the room is so worn out you don't even want to sit on it — a $20 plastic chair would ve been better. The toilet seat has peeling paint too. I arrived after 8 PM, it was dark and I was too tired to deal with calling or switching rooms, especially since the room looked nothing like the photos online. There's no staff at the reception - everything is done by phone or online. I stayed in room 108 and took pictures. Let others see what it really looks like.

There were som dead bugs behind the nightstand and the drain cover in the shower was broken but I didn’t bother to say anything bc it honestly didn’t matter. Bed was clean mattress looked brand new. Crystal (2/5): Bates Motel Look Alike - No humans to address ptoblems. They text you and offer no solutions... The TV didn't work. The bathroom lights were burned out. Everything was plugged into one extension cord. Total fire hazzard. Toilet leaking on the gloor from the base. And the best part? There was a large square cut out of the ceiling right over the shower!!! Yep. Super creepy!!!

I was skeptical at first because I had already paid for reservation but they still needed my credit card information for incidentals. I waited until I arrived to make sure but the lady I spoke to through camera was nice and after being checked in I became comfortable.

Kobinah (6/5): - Booked 3 nights here to ride out the heat wave because my HVAC broke down at home and I have a very busy work schedule. The self checkin was straightforward enough, and the room itself was clean, and everything worked well, at least for the first two nights. I arrived back from work on the third night to find that there was no power, due to an outage in the entire town. The water in the hotel runs on an electric pump, so no water either. There was no human staff at the hotel at all, just a sign at the counter with a phone number. When you call the number, you realize that you are only speaking with an AI chatbot. I called twice for information and got the SAME unhelpful generic response from the chatbot. 20 minutes later an actual person called, who informed me on the situation and assured me that the power would be restored in maybe 20 minutes or so. After waiting an hour in a hot room, no power or water (I use a CPAP), and an early work assignment the next day, I had to decide to pack up and leave and made other arrangements. By email, the manager flat out refused to refund the missed night, blamed me for “not being patient,” and had an extremely callous and accusatory tone. This hotel is in a very remote area, and severe weather can cause blackouts. Unfortunately this hotel has NO backup power, not even to at least run the water pump. In an emergency, there is only an AI chatbot, and very unhelpful staff on the phone afterwards - you’re on your own after that. BEWARE!

Check in was simple and parking right by the room's door. It's a very good value for any traveler that is looking for a clean quite bed and doesn't need more than this. No bed bugs or critters to be found, but some of the furnishings and shower drain were in need of repair. Bathroom door didn’t stay closed. BUT, it had a tv and fridge that functioned and a place to sleep. Area felt safe and no noise leaked in from other rooms.
Raymond (9/5): Hilltop Motel is STILL wonderful affordable and comfortable! - The price was at it's lowest yet, the facilities was comfortable. Though there was a situation about my room, they immediately remedied the problem and transfer me to a more suitable room. The new room had a nice large screen tv with Roku. I was able to enjoy my streaming shows as well as have my work done with their adequate wifi. Need a large ice machine. Need abundance of ice to store my medical insulin.
