Very easy pleasant stay! Location was perfect for the purpose of our trip! Only critique was the shower was beautiful but could have been a little cleaner. There was a hair on the shower floor and pink mildew on the shower head. Something easily corrected and would not be a reason not to stay there!

Natasha (8/5): Fo the price, and the unwanted lingering from the street, I wouldn’t do unless very discounted - Rooms are spacious and being able to have a full fridge and amenities was very useful. Bus stop out front kept a lot of unwanted foot traffic in front of the hotel constantly, and the upstairs sealed pf marijuana from people smoking on the balcony as well as by the rooms
Susan (5/5): - Etage was a good location for the NFL Draft. We parked and never drove until we left. We were close to Market Square and walking distance to Point State Park and the stadium. View from the rooftop, pretty cool. Very close to starbucks and dunkin doughnuts for your morning coffee. Lighting was not good within unit. Fan ran in the bathroom non-stop with a whistling noise. We had lights hanging over the night stands but no means to turn them on and one didn't have a light bulb. The drawers in the bathroom were a total pain to open and close. We had a one bedroom unit with a sofa bed, however, sofa bed is in living room and while the glass windows view was cool and I believe they were mirrored on the outside there were no curtains or way to combat the light first thing in the morning. Also, there was not good seating in the living room, just the couch.

Kim (10/5): Amazing Views, Epic Rooftop Court and Fantastic Accommodations - Check In and Check Out were easy peazy! Front staff was great! Parking was in the same block and is very tight but elevator goes right to the suites and the In and our privileges were nice to have. The 2 bedroom suite met our family's and groups needs and had enough room to comfortably move around. The kitchen was spacious and stocked with the items we needed to make coffee, toast and breakfast. (no keurig but a nice Cuisinart and gold filter, so make sure you bring ground coffee) We were here for a Basketball Tournament and having a washer and dryer in our room was worth its weight in gold. The views are spectacular and the basketball court an chess set was epic. The location was ideal. We thought they had a spa / hot tub - but we were mistaken or never found one. Our floors lounge area (couches, tv, bar seats) was a fantastic place for our group to meet and just hang out together. Description and pictures met our expectations. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and accommodations. We didn't like having to share one bathroom for a 2 bedroom place that sleeps 6, additionally the bathroom only had one sink. Some of the shades in the main room didnt work (we did report it and asked for it to be fixed but wasnt). We also asked for the Air vents to be cleaned - which was addressed immediately. Lastly - there were only very limited cushions for the rooftop chairs - but it was such an amazing view, ...didnt matter too much.

The space was modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed, with great attention to detail and comfort. The location was convenient, and the service was seamless and professional. Lori (10/5): So worth it! - The 2 bedroom apartment we had was beautiful, spacious and well equipped. The floor to ceiling windows were awesome with a great view of the city, especially at night. The rooftop space & game room were unique additions you wouldn't expect to find in the city. It's perfect accommodations for friends to stay together and socialize with the option to eat in or eat out. The couch pull-out bed wasn't comfortable to sleep on (but, let's be honest, most aren't) and the air duct in the living room was very loud due to a register that rattled all night. Seems like an easy maintenance fix that wouldn't prevent me from renting it again.

I called down to request the floors cleaned and the housekeeper came w a lint roller ... did absolutely nothing to clean them (AND WE TIPPED HER BEFORE LEAVING THE ROOM)!!! Dirt caked up on blinds. Asked for more towels and they brought a box of Tide so we could wash our towels. The shower backed up, standing in water to your ankles when we showered. Trying to run a bath for the kids and just particles coming up from the drain. We have been coming here for over 6 years .... this will be our last visit.
tomlO3238OC (8/5): Great Location - Stay was pretty good overall. Penthouse had a nice view of Market Square and the room was nice. Not a lot of furniture for the amount of space, but it worked for just two of us. Bed was very comfortable. Our only complaints were the rooftop closing at 9:00 on 75-degree Friday/Saturday nights and the lack of housekeeping during our 3 nights. We had to request toilet paper twice with only 1/2 roll on arrival.

We had an issue with the AC in our original room that they couldn’t fix so they changed our room the next time. Rooms and lobby areas were very clean. Overall experience was great and will be staying here again.

999tedh (8/5): It's great except the parking machine. - The central location is fine, getting in and out of the parking lot was a chore everyday, there was either the gate is broken, validation doesn't matter, or we have to go all the way to the front desk to validate, then go back to our car, then drive out. I was traveling with my mother in law, who is handicapped, and 3 month old and 3 year old daughters, this was very inconvenient. I think supplying a badge or just having the room key be used as a parking pass would be much better, it is the same RFID hardware, it does work easily. And I had one front desk guy yell at me because we pushed the help button instead. Everyone else that worked front desk said to hit that.

685chuckd (4/5): No parties unless you pay off the front desk staffer. - I've stayed at Etage several times in the past; however, this particular stay was very disappointing. Let me explain. Upon check-in and in signing my portfolio doc, the young man at the front desk, who was very pleasant and nice, explained the hotel is non-smoking in the rooms, and there are no parties allowed, and by signing i was agreeing to these points, which is normal, and I have no issue with that. I had a client dinner meeting on that first evening, and upon my return around 11:15 pm, I noticed the room next to mine was extremely loud and reeked of marijuana. As a matter of fact, I could smell it as soon as I got off the elevator. Normally, I'm not mad at MJ, but this was over the top, especially giving the rules doc I was made to sign upon check-in. But that was not the issue. The issue was the noise that was getting increasingly louder with more and more people showing up, yelling, etc. It literally sounded like they were in the room with me. I went so far as to place my phone on the kitchen counter and record it, and sounded like the party was in my suite. I heard a knock at the neighboring door and thought it may be security, but to my surprise, it was more guests showing up with bags of alcohol, and with it now being about 11:35 pm (on a Sunday night) I realized the party was just ramping up and showed no signed of ending anytime soon, so I called the front desk. The front desk was not staffed with a new person, a young lady who never offered her name. I explained the situation, and her response was, 'Well, what do you want me to do about it?" I replied, "Send security and make it stop," and I was just met with silence. "HELLO?" Then she said, let me see what I can do and hung up. Not even 5 minutes later, my phone rang, and she said, 'how about you move to another room?" as if I was the problem. I told her I didn't want to, and I shouldn't have to move when it's the other room, breaking the rules that I had signed and agreed to follow. I explained that I am a guest as well, and that I regularly stay at the Etage for multi-night stays, when I am in town for business a few times a year. Apparently, she took my statement as a contest and replied, "Well, these other guests come here and spend a lot of money all the time, so you should move to another room." She went on to suggest that I pack up and move to another floor. I reluctantly agreed and requested that, since I'm the one who has to move, she or security deliver my new room key to me so that I would not have to pack up, then take the elevator down 11 floors to retrieve it. She refused and said she could reprogram my fob key from there, which sounded odd to me, but I took her at her word. But of course, once I packed up and went to the 12th floor, the key did not work, and I had to leave all my belongings outside the new room door and go downstairs. Once there, I was met with a massive amount of attitude from her as she reprogrammed my fob key, but I also noticed a gentleman was standing next to the desk in a way to see the security camera screen for the front door of the hotel, and seemingly approving guests to be buzzed in to go to the party on the 11th floor. They let in about 6 additional people while I was standing there. I asked for the manager, and she said that the manager was not there. I asked for the manager's card, and she said the manager did not have a card. I asked for the manager's name, and she just said "Ashley" and stared at me. I asked if she could write it down, and she did. I went to my new room, which didn't even have a coffee table or any additional seating besides a saggy sofa and uncomfortable barstools. At this point i just wanted to go to bed as it was nearly 12:30 am. It was clear to me that this front deck person was on the take for $, from the man standing at the desk approving entries into an otherwise secure building. The next morning, I was able to track down the manager, Ashley, to explain my situation. Ashley seemed sympathetic, and after I explained my intention not to pay for the previous night due to the situation, she agreed to take that previous night off my bill. However, to my surprise, as I was leaving the building Monday evening for another client dinner meeting, I noticed the same front desk staffer was working again, so apparently her actions, rudeness to a guest, and allowing the party to rage on the night prior while suggested the affected guest move to another room, did not warrant any disciplinary action from the manager. Shocking! I only hope that now that this review has been posted, the management of the Etage will take this situation seriously and take the appropriate actions to ensure other guests are not subjected to the same disrespect that I was forced to endure. V3475CKbrians (10/5): One night in Pittsburgh - We had a wonderful stay, we were upgraded to the penthouse suite which out kids thought was amazing! Staff was very friendly and helpful! We will definitely be back to stay again. It was great that we were right down town and could walk to the arena as well

FYI: There is a $250 Pet Fee that is not disclosed when Booking!! 🙌🏼 Yes pet Friendly but the pet fee is more than the booking! Parking Garage area on the floors 1-7 are super tight if you have a larger SUV Good Luck! May the space Gods be with you!! It's super tight... And very small!

J837PFjohnb (6/5): Disappointed again - This is a very nice hotel with spacious rooms and when we returned to visit the city again, we stayed here again due to its proximity to downtown entertainment and transportation options. Was surprised to see the young lady Angel still working at the hotel, she smelled of straight weed and alcohol, just like the last time we visited. It seems that ETAGE doesn't have a staff code of conduct or this young lady just doesn't care about professional behavior.

I honestly shouldve tried to get my money back but i was so fed up with everything at that point i forced myself to forget about it and just have a good time with what i had. The dishes werent properly clean. The water was cloudy and dirty.

cammiew2026 (10/5): Another great stay! - Our first room had a few issues, but the front desk was quick to assist us in getting a different room. The second room was beautiful, as expected. There were some small issues, but nothing that made the space uninhabitable. I think my only issue is that the rooms don't seem to be checked for minor issues unless they're mentioned explicitly to staff by guests (water filters, cabinets, etc.) I love that its quiet and cozy. I love that the Etage is pet-friendly. The location is in a great space downtown with a view of PNC Park. The attached parking structure is a huge plus, and the cost to park isn't bad. There's a lot of things to do in close proximity. I couldn't ask for a better place to stay.

W6486IJbarryd (8/5): Pros and cons - Etage is in the business district of downtown Pittsburgh. It is located near the underground subway and several bus lines. The parking is convenient because it is attached to the hotel and is heated. Our vehicle is a large pickup truck and is this garage was not constructed to accommodate such a large truck. Parking the truck was atrocious and driving through the garage was super tight. I would recommend a smaller vehicle if you are going to park in the garage. The 2 bedroom apartment was nice. One of the bedrooms was at least 5-10 degrees colder than the rest of the apartment. This room had 2 fully glasses walls and that was probably why it was so cold. We only used the gym 1 time and it is massive with everything that a gym rat needs.

L4483QJanitab (2/5): Terrible Stay - This was one of the worst hotel stays I have ever experienced. From the moment I arrived, nothing went smoothly. I was initially placed in a room that I did not request. Because the rooms were not properly cleaned or sanitized, I was moved from room to room and had to view three different rooms before being placed into one that was at least usable. Even then, the final room was still unsanitary. There was hair left in the shower, the stove was dirty, the floors clearly had not been mopped, and dust covered the headboards and surfaces. The room did not feel cleaned at all. I have photos and videos of everything. I ended up leaving the property to buy my own cleaning supplies, including a mop and bucket, and had to ask the front desk for disinfectant wipes just to clean the room myself. Throughout my entire stay, none of the TVs had remotes, so I could not watch television at all. This was especially disappointing because this was my birthday weekend, and I was trying to relax. The water quality was also concerning. The water came out completely white, and I did not feel safe using it. I had to purchase bottled water with my own money just to brush my teeth for the entire stay. I have video documentation of this as well. Parking was another major issue. I was charged multiple parking fees that did not match my actual usage. I did not even park the first night, and my son only briefly stopped to help me with a drop-off after being told his ticket would be validated. Despite this, multiple charges were placed on my card. To make matters worse, the front desk employee I spoke with during checkout was extremely rude and dismissive. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told none were available. I was spoken to in a very unprofessional manner and offered no real help or accountability. Overall, my stay was a complete disaster. I barely spent time at the property, and when I did, I was dealing with cleanliness issues, missing amenities, questionable water quality, incorrect charges, and poor customer service. I do not feel I received the experience I paid for and would not recommend this hotel.

Kristina (10/5): An epic 10th birthday for Salvatore! - Everything!!!! The glass castle being outside of our windows, watching light up night on 5th Avenue from the roof, the city view, the spacious layout of our apartment, seeing fireworks from the roof and watching them reflect off of the glass castle. We got the apartment for my son's 10th birthday and he brought a friend so they could play basketball on the roof. They had a wonderful time! We will be back!!!!! There wasnt anything negative... the tough part was learning the layout and how to get to the roof. After many wrong turns (fun adventures) we found it!
Mobile829758 (8/5): Experience - I stayed in a two bedroom in downtown Pittsburgh. I called earlier in the week regarding a charity opportunity to speak with the manager. I left my number and didn't even receive a return call. The hotel and room was beautiful. The social area and game room were as well. The bad part is the check in is at 4pm and the social area and game room closed at 9pm. That doesn't allow for much time to enjoy those areas. Also the TVs in the room wouldn't work. We called for assistance and it never got resolved.

hanskY3112RV (6/5): Flawed and misleading experience with the rooms - Good experience could have been much better if not for problems with the room. The room didn't look much like the web site- windows were much smaller and did not provide the panoramic view of the city we hoped for. The view was mostly obstructed. A safety railing between the bedroom area and open kitchen was broken and leaning. The bed lights required a cumbersome remote control to turn on / off. The remote had to be close to the light to work which meant sharing a single remote control to turn off both bedside lamps. Parking fee was not clear when we booked and seemed excessive ($30 / day).

yvette12032019 (6/5): Probably won't stay here again.... - I rented the two bedroom suite and the value was excellent. However, I was given the wrong size room at check in so I had to go back downstairs and have it corrected. The room was huge but there were several things that could have been better: the sofa in the living room was uncomfortable, the living room TV would come on automatically at night, the fabric headboards were stained with who knows what (I don't even want to think about it), the blinds in the bathroom were rusted and didn't close all the way, the side lights in the one bedroom ended up staying on all night long because there wasn't a switch to turn them off, no mini bar or water provided, a two bedroom suite with only one sink when there's room for two. On the plus side, the room was huge, there were plenty of towels, the beds were comfortable and the view was awesome.
dawncQ1862WD (10/5): Family of 6 weekend in Pittsbugh - Our family chose this hotel due to the location and walkability to the two venues we had events at. It was a 15 minute walk to both Acrisure Stadium and PPG Paints Arena. Check in was easy and we were able to access our room prior to 4 PM check in. The front desk staff for our entire stay were wonderfully helpful. There was a connectivity issue in our 2 bedroom suite room which caused none of our TVs or hotel phone to be able to work. Maintenance was unable to address the issue while we were there so the front dest staff generously comped our parking fee for us. Our room was not the cleanest, but the space worked well for our family and we did not spend a lot of time in our room, so we did not push the cleanliness issue with the hotel staff. All in all, a great option for our family attending downtown events in Pittsburgh.

shellyc653 (4/5): Upgrade Doesn't MakeUp For Issues - My family stayed in room 1302 from 10-23 to 10-26 for ATA's Fall National's, to celebrate a birthday and our anniversary. We were worried about staying here because of past reviews concerning cleanliness and safety. To be fair we were given an upgrade to a penthouse suite and that kind of upgrade is not easy to come by today. However, this place is really missing out on the opportunity to be a really nice place to stay. We experienced several issues during our stay and when we reported our issues to the front desk we were given an email address and told to forward all complaints to that address. The front desk staff at this hotel is not knowledge about anything. They provide little to no help. The only thing they do is sit at the front desk and when there is a problem tell you they don't know and instruct you to send an email to the address they provide. During our stay it was very difficult to get a good night’s sleep because the vents that provide heat and AC were right outside the bedroom and were extremely loud. So loud that I had to wear noise cancelling headphones and earplugs all night. The shower handle/control was loose and coming apart. We let the front desk know that at some point it was going to detach. There was no soap in the bathroom or shower, only hand lotion and conditioner. Fortunately I brought my own soap from home. I also brought my own sheets because I just don’t trust that hotels will clean the rooms properly. I discovered that the floors were filthy and probably haven’t been cleaned since the place opened. I was wearing new white socks that were so dirty from the floors I had to throw them away. The stove top was badly scratched and did not look clean so we cleaned it. The phone in the room did not work and we could not reach the front desk using it. We had to take the elevators down to the front desk every time we had a question or an issue. The retractable door inside the room that leads directly to the rooftop was broken and did not work. I don’t understand why the hotel doesn’t post on the website when things are not what guests would expect. Also, the carpet in the halls was filthy and dingy. On 10-25-25 I sent a very detailed email to the email address provided to me that indicated I wanted to bring the issues we encountered to the attention of a Manager/Management. I never received a response. The email was ignored and that shows that the manager/owner of this Aparthotel does not care about the customer experience or addressing issues. In the email I sent I attached a video so management could hear the vent and how loud it was in the middle of the night. I also sent a photo of the shower handle/control. I find it rude and dismissive that no one responded to my email. This place could be very nice but the owners are not investing in the property. The property is not being properly maintained. It just seems like no cares. They take your money and whatever happens - happens. It would have been proper for hotel management to make an effort and at least reply to my email. I guess they thought because they gave us an upgrade we should let everything else go by the wayside. I personally would rather have a clean room with clean floors, soap, quiet vents, and a solid working shower handle than a view.

Front desk person complained about how cold he was in the lobby & that he needed a heater to stay warm. Check in was fine. Hotel room had a lot to be desired! Large & Spacious. Several lights didn't have lightbulbs. They provided one roll of toilet paper. Had to continually ask or rolls as needed! There was no soap/body wash! When I asked about it, they said they were out of soap and they were having "logistical" issues. I had to go to CVS to get some body wash. Front Desk staff told me to use shampoo instead, even though there was not enough for even 4 adults to wash our hair! Bathroom was NOT clean! There was dried urine all around toilet!! I advised front desk person about the dried urine and was told we only get housekeeping if we are there for over a month!!! You must ask for towels when you want them. I did ask in the morning and there still were not any at the end of day....I had to go down to ask again. Vents were filthy!! Their phone system did not work. They told us to Google hotel and call them on their main phone number...which I did but no one answered. I definitely would NOT come back to this hotel....too many other options available.
Thomas (8/5): A good stay, but not as great as expected. - The view was impressive and the location was great. It was nice to have all the space. The lighting was good—except in the kitchen. The kitchen looked good, but wasn't functional. Neither the light or vent on the hood over the stove worked, and one of the drawers didn't open—t sounded like there were some cooking utensils in there. The latch on the door of the master bedroom closet didn't work, so it had to be left open. We reported the kitchen issues, but there was no attempt to fix them.

875jasonh (8/5): Good Weekend Stay - Great location right downtown. Convenient to stadiums and the business district. Staff was super freindly and helpful. The room was enormously big, but had a distinct smell of fried food. The kitchen area/cooktop looked greasy, but was generally clean. Not sure how comfortable I would have been using the utensils and cookware without a good washing first. The pullout bed was a little rough - but good enough for a short stay. There were several people loitering around outside the front doors all hours of the day. I didn't feel unsafe - it was just a little sketchy. Overall, a good stay.
adamwT2678WW (6/5): Not worth wasting your nights sleep - The hotel itself, and staff are pleasant. The rooms/suites are spacious and comfortable. The biggest issue I have, is that the walls are paper thin, and duct work carries sounds way to easily. We stayed on the 12th floor, and heard people above us, all night long, walking/running late at night. The real treat came on night 3, starting at 2am..yes 2 in the morning. At 2am, for the third night in a row, we heard walking, running, yelling, dog barking. I called the front desk, and to their credit, they sent security right up. Security did the bare minimum to quiet out neighbors, as the neighbors did not stop. I wound up pounding on their door a short while later, telling them to quiet down...they did not. I called the front again, waited for security to visit their room, and I came out so security couldn't cowar away. The 4 20-something makes, and female, proceeded to complain about being bothered... security again did nothing, so I spoke up again, informing all that my daughter had college auditions in the morning, and this was the 3rd night dealing with this. After I told them to shut it, and go to bed, and they finished throwing plenty of colorful insults at me, we went out ways. We continued to hear someone running for another hour, back and forth. I notified the front desk of the noise after the first night, and they said they'd keep an ear out, I called the front desk on the second, and security went up and knocked on the neighbors door and we didn't hear anything after that. The interaction with the neighbors was the worst part, and I don't assume it happens often, but sound travels too easily through the hotel, and based on that, a long with the lack of ability by security, I don't think I'd ever stay there again. We are planning on going back same time next year, but will be looking into a less expensive, more comfortable place.
JSchaefer (8/5): Reasonable Downtown Homebase - All was well during my stay. Bathroom drain had some challenges and none of the drawers and cupboards in the condo close anymore, but the full gym access and price were fantastic.
kristen (8/5): - The unit we stayed in was very spacious - perfect for a family of four to spread out. I appreciated there being 3 tv’s and 2 bedrooms. That said, the units do not block sound well. My minor children got to hear the people in the unit above us going at it multiple times during our stay, complete with the audio from their voices. Quite the impromptu educational moment for them. Nothing the hotel could control or fix but is something to keep in mind if you have younger kids and plan to stay here. The walls are thin.
