Perfect place to switch off and enjoy some quiet time. The food was exceptional, lovely scenery and we enjoyed the games room and tennis! Thank you for a beautiful stay. We would love to return!

It’s in a great location right next to the National Park .The hotel is beautifully decorated and furnished . The staff are helpful and charming . - Corey (5/5): Customer service is incredibly important - The facilities are outstanding, the pool and sauna and rooms are terrific The staff were lovely however they clearly did not have enough staff on for the time we stayed there. Considerable wait times for even drink orders, huge issues with delivery of our meal the first night we stayed there as well as a turndown service which was only a quarter complete. Overall, the price point would be completely justified if the hotel rostered in enough staff to meet guest demand. The staff who did work were mostly polite, kind and tried there best to service all guests to an acceptable standard

- Serena (10/5): Highly recommend if you are looking for a luxury escape - We stayed 2 nights here for a mini break from the city and experienced the best customer service, the attention to detail was exceptional. All staff were polite and attentive. The location is stunning, quiet and views from the property overlooking the bush land are wonderful . The rooms were comfortable and beautifully furnished. We had dinner at the Firehouse restaurant on the first night which was great, and went out on the second day and ate at a local pub which was a nice balance. I would highly recommend this hotel and would happily return again, maybe try one of the freestanding lodges next time!

A huge bedroom and bathroom (no bath) and mostly well designed common areas. The spa facilities are mostly excellent, great pool and good sauna, except for the steam room which is not fit for purpose. Room 16 has appalling soundproofing and bland decor. The soundproofing is so bad that the noise from room 17’s bathroom was extremely intrusive. When in bed it sounded like your neighbours were showering with you! This is a material problem and needs remedial attention. Not acceptable for a hotel of this standard.

Staff are wonderful and seem to anticipate your every need. We included the Fire Feast in our stay as at extra cost - really nice event. So much food! It’s all really lovely. If I had to say anything it’s that it’s very warm in the house - granted winter, but log burning fires made it quite hot. Being an historic home, the walls in rooms are not sound proofed so you do tend to hear more than you would ordinarily in a more modern hotel. It’s pricey - possibly a little over priced, but does make for a lovely treat.

- Emily (5/5): Perfectly adequate but definitely not worth the price paid. - Staff friendly. A glass of rose being offered on arrival was a nice touch. Bed was comfortable and bathroom adequate. The room (no 23) did not feel like a 'suite' nor did the quality of the room reflect the price we paid. The walls were not adequately insulated to the point we could hear next door having a full conversation word for word over the top of the their loud television at 2.30am and the same early the next morning from the room on the other side. In addition, the bathroom sliding door has no handle so is difficult to open, no spoons provided for making tea and our room was not serviced despite fact we vacated room at 10am and did't return until 4pm. Breakfast was disappointing, the small share bowls of fruit (all unripe), granola and yoghurt and 'pastries" to start is a bizarre concept and then the offering of hot meals was basic (over-ripe avocado, uncooked sourdough and watery poached egg). When we asked if we could sit on the terrace we were told "all the heaters aren't working so its cold out there.." We seated ourselves outside anyway and then waited for approx. 15mins for menus, water, coffee order to be taken. We didn't dine in either of the restaurants as felt that both menus were restrictive and overpriced for the offering and felt our money was better spent supporting other local Southern Highlands venues. We returned to the hotel after local dinner on Friday night with our guests to have drinks/dessert. Upon enquiring as to what we could have as a small share dessert we were told, a tart, this was ordered and a creme caramel arrived! We also ordered mint tea for 3, two out of the 3 cups brought to us were chipped.. The parking, access via intercom every time you arrive at the property is annoying both for guests and for the staff that have to hurry to front of hotel to greet guests each time.

Food preparation was disappointing however I am sure can be improved. The interiors have been nicely refreshed and decorated. Only the Villa bathrooms have heating. The grounds are nicely kept but the tennis court needs some TLC.

Everything was super easy and thought about by the staff to bring that next level of stay. Close to amazing walks and the pub. We used the bikes to ride to the pub. The cocktails were not great at all. Food was great but not suitable for lunch or a light bite. Very expensive. Poor choice for chips in the snack bar and staff forgot to restock the bar fridge with two bottles of water, only one.

We only stayed one night as we were meeting up with my brother and his wife who had been there a couple of days with my elderly mother. My mother had an accessible room which was great for her. Wonderful service from a range of delightful staff. The dinner is the restaurant was fabulous. Not a cheap experience but an exceptional experience.
