Guest Reviews
- Timothy (10/5): - Short on staff, could not order breakfast.
- Demetrius (7/5): - We found a gecko behind curtains and the stationary board was full of spiders. Above
- Oliver (9/5): Übernachtung im Zugwagon - Übernachtung im Wagon. Schönes Erlebnis.
- Hamalwa (8/5): Very good -
- Ryno (4/5): Truck stop accommodation - I booked the place with the thought the train would be a cool stop in our trip to sleep in. When we arrived they didn't seem to be aware of us coming. We received a room and was then when returning after dinner, called into the shop and asked to move to another room, at that time of night with a sleeping baby, needless to say I was not very happy. With bags in hand and busy moving, we were then at least told to remain in the room we were. But the whole event was unprofessional.
I did see in the booking info the space is small, but was not expecting what we found. The toilet is in view of the bed, so unless you are not ready to get to know your partner on the next level, this is not for you. I went to use the dirty truck stops toilets to do my 'business' there. The small space with everything open also doesn't help with a lingering smell after you've done your 'business'.
The trains are at the back of a fuel station/truck stop, I parked my car at the fuel station side in the evenings as I was not comfortable to park it at the back in the dark and secluded.
If I recall the add said toiletries is supplied, but there was not!
It also says there is an on site restaurant. You can order, but the picture of a active and open restaurant is not the case.
- Elsje (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dries (8/5): Very good -
- Anna (5/5): Passable - The ambiance The facilities
- Susan (8/5): Very good - The carriage room was great ,quiet, comfortable and clean, perfect for an overnight stop. The surrounding environment is a truck stop and could have been a little cleaner. Worth a trip into town to eat rather than eat at gas station facilities.
TVs didn't work.
- Rohann (9/5): Superb -
- Kotzé (7/5): Good -
- Ángel (5/5): It used to be affordable. Not anymore - It used to be a very good option to spend your night before or after Etosha. In one year, they have increased their prices to three times it used to be. Based on this, it is not a nice option in Tsumeb anymore.
- Ndategako (4/5): Disappointing - There was sufficient hot water It was too dusty, hence not clean and the network is bad
- Dauth (7/5): Good -
- Johannes (9/5): Comfy train in Tsumeb. - The experience of sleeping in a train compartment was great. It was comfortable and the bed slept sturdy and comfortably. Hot water in the shower afternoon and early morning. Kettle and small fridge available. The aircon worked quickly - a much needed item for the space. Availability of good restaurant food - we settled for pizza, which was great! Payment for drinks and food at seperate venues.
- Beathea (8/5): Very good -

- Iwie (8/5): Cozy and modern - The modern facilities and cozy room Nothing really
- Olavi (7/5): Good -
- John (8/5): Good food, great service, comfy beds. - The room was amazing and the staff were very receptive. We arrived late and the 24 hour Kitchen saved us.
Amazing staff and the leisure room was really comfortable. The fire place and bath tub were a good touch! The room had cobwebs and we'd keep walking into them.
- Viacheslav (8/5): Excellent wines from the same owners- must try!! - Funny and cool A bit narrow rooms and definitely short bed- even for my 187 cm
- Christiaan (10/5): We needed to travel from Etosha to Swakop and wanted only a clean bed, aircon and a fridge -
- David (8/5): A good, somewhat different, stop off on the way to Etosha. - Huge room, very comfortable, all amenities.
- Adie (3/5): We declined to stay at this facility. - We did not like this facility at all and ended up not staying. The unit we were offered was not bad but the whole setup of this facility does not meet the standards for a common tourist traveler. It resembles a truck stop more than an overnight stop for tourists The location is behind a 24 hour petrol station and not the place for elderly travelers like us. The food is very basic take away type items from a small convenience shop with no seating. There is a local bar and live outdoor music which did not appeal to us. I cannot recommend this facility to travelers.
- Daleen (7/5): It’s a great concept, it was a comfortable stay, but the carriages and property needs some maintenance. - The idea is really great because it is totally different and gives you that olden days feel that one doesn’t get to experience anymore. The location isn’t great being behind a 24 hour service station but it wasn’t noisy. The property needs a bit of TLC, the mulberry trees are overgrown, the grass wasn’t mowed and the pavement wasn’t swept. The outside of the carriages needs some paint to protect it against the elements.
- Aj (7/5): Good -
- Imelda (9/5): Superb - i did not book in there as it was on the outskirts of the town. did not expect that but it is a very beautifull place
- Johann (7/5): Although it was just overnight it was a pleasant experience - Didn't have breakfast as we didn't know it was available
- Kosmas (8/5): Very good -
- Ondrej (8/5): Very good -
- Dina (8/5): Very good -
- Olavi (10/5): The staff is very friendly and helpful. Beautiful scenery. We loved every minute of stay. We will definitely come back a - everything nothing
- Suovuo (8/5): An imaginative experience with wonderful spa service! - A proper Finnish sauna available at the Spa. Generally good services all close by, including petrol station and ATM. A very exotic experience to have your room in a decommissioned train car. The toilet in the room should have at least a curtain to separate it from the rest of the room. I would assume this to be better in the non-traincar-rooms. Also, the train car was not originally a sleeping cabinet car, but a regular passenger car completely refurbished and equipped with a double bed – a bit of a disappointment towards the original expectations.
- Timothy (8/5): Very good - Rooms are small but had everything you need. On site of 24 hour service station so you can buy most essential things at anytime.
- Dominic (8/5): Comfy and friendly - Food given the price was nice, There's canteen offered plenty of options. Pizza was good To me the only thing was if your was for fries would heat up in microwave and they would have soggy texture.
- Silke (8/5): Value for money accommodation relatively close to Etosha. - Comfortable spacious room with big bathroom and beds. The deli makes the most delicious pizzas The accommodation is located behind a petrol garage and a little supermarket, which seemed a bit peculiar at first, but the overall location is good when one return Etosha.
- Monaliza (5/5): chaotic check in…disappointing service - I liked the idea of sleeping in a train compartment. it was done up very well and tasteful I phoned ahead and told the staff I would be late, hoping my check I. will go smooth. I had to check in at the shop, other customers paying for their daily essentials, me checking in. staff not finding my details, it was chaotic and I found the cashier very rude and I’ll mannered. worst check in ever. they didn’t even explain, just gave us water and the keys. we had to go somewhere else to have breakfast as nothing was explained.
- Rafal (8/5): Very good - Rooms in train are quite unusal.
- Daniel (7/5): Good -
- Ludwig (8/5): Very good -
- Ludwig (8/5): Very good - Booking and check in, very convenient, no hassles. Staff, always very friendly and helpful.
- Graeme (8/5): Very good -
