• Barry (8/5): Excellent location, very nice staff, not so great hot water system - Hotel location was excellent. Our room was spacious and inviting. We had no hot water for two of our 4 days in Munich. Of course, it wasn’t the fault of the staff, but it certainly impacted the quality of our stay. We were surprised the front desk folks didn’t offer us free breakfast, a bottle of wine or beers or some kind of gift to acknowledge the rather large problem with our room. The staff knew we had no hot water and on day 2 of the problem merely acknowledged the issue and advised they “were working on it”. They could have done more…..

It was a beautiful island of calm in a very busy city. - I liked the staff, the location on a quiet street in the centre of Munich, the view of the garden courtyard from my room, the kitchenette in my room, and the glassed in dining room overlooking the courtyard. I really liked the fact that I could order breakfast from an à la carte menu! I can’t eat a lot at one meal so breakfast buffets are a waste of money for me. I loved everything about my 4 night stay at Maximilian and would definitely stay there again if I am able to return to Munich! Nothing!

We were told to access the car park by a different route due to construction work which took an hour of driving around due to the instructions actually included a road that was totally closed minor problems like the bathroom bath and sink plugs did not work.

• Z7953TCmarkd (6/5): It’s slipped and needs to be more transparent - -We’ve stayed at the Maximilian before and broadly enjoyed it again — central location, comfortable apartment, courteous reception. As hoteliers ourselves, a few honest observations- 1. At circa €300 a night, €30 per head for a modest, ordinary buffet is excessive. The pre-purchase option wasn’t visibly offered on Booking.com, so we paid the walk-in rate. When we politely raised it on departure, we were told it was “standard.” It isn’t — and it has risen sharply since our last stay. By comparison, the Platzl — widely rated one of the Altstadt’s best breakfasts — sits below the Maximilian’s rate, Hotel Torbräu charges €25, the Mercure Altstadt bundles it in at €18, and even the 5-star Louis Hotel is €39 à la carte for a markedly superior spread. 2. The biggest issue — and not disclosed at booking — the hotel is currently surrounded by active construction (Marienhof / 2nd S-Bahn works), running even on Sundays. Would we return? Possibly — but we’d skip breakfast and check the construction status first. More transparency required.

• Darek (9/5): - Personal sehr hilfsbereit und zuvorkommen. Essen sehr lecker und vielfältig! Was besser wäre - Kaffeeautomat für Gäste zum selbst Drücken! Bei den kleinen Tassen die da sind, brauchst zwei-drei Tassen, und wenn du auch zur zweit am Tisch bist, musst du 4 Mal nach Kaffee bitten - peinlich! Ich ging direkt nach dem frühstück Kaffee trinken in der Stadt. Auch kein Rührei - warum?! Theke mitten im Raum ist unstabil und wackelt, die Wasserflaschen kippen um! Kühlschrank ist sehr laut. Keine richtige Deckenbeleuchtung was den Raum sehr dunkel macht. Die Relais im Unterverteilung sind so laut, es gibt doch Brummfreie Relais für Taster Schaltung, Nachts bei Licht an weckt mach den Partner! Stühle sollten neu, sind durchgesessen! Und das schlimmste, Waschbecken im Bad - alles wird immer rundum Nass weil Wasser von der flachen Beckenumrandung natürlich nicht abfließen kann. Katastrophe! Vorschlag - lass dem Hotel Manager selbst den Waschbecken nutzen. ;-)

• Volkan (10/5): Just exactly as advertised - About the room, everything was just like advertised. No surprises. It was spacious, clean, comfortable. The small kitchenette is functional. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location is close to old town , you can walk around easily. But I would still suggest taking a cab from airport if you are with lots of luggage or with kids, cuz you have to walk like 500m from closest station otherwise. The construction next to hotel. But of course, hotel has nothing to do with it.

• Lindsey (10/5): Would definitely stay here again - A superb hotel in a great location not far from the Old Town and several transport hubs so it was easy to get around. The kitchen was well equiped, the bed was super-comfy, lovely hot water in the bathroom. The amount of food available for breakfast was impressive and there's an option of full breakfast for 30 euros (18 for kids) or a smaller selection from a menu for less cost. The garden area with fountain was very peaceful and the nearby construction work (only Monday-Friday) didn't really impact when I was out exploring most of the day - I did have a garden-facing room. All the staff were friendly and efficient, and I was shown to my room after checking in. I will definitely stay here again when I visit Munich. Nothing

• Wiebke (8/5): Ein schönes Hotel in toller Lage mit weichen Betten - Tolle Lage, sehr vieles gut zu Fuss zu erreichen. Das Appartment lag zum Innenhof, der sehr hübsch angelegt ist. Geschmackvoll eingerichtet, das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Uns persönlich waren die Betten viel zu weich. Das Frühstück fanden wir nicht angemessen zum Preis (30€ pro Person). Es gab keinerlei selbstgemachtes, nur Fertigware und keinerlei Vollkornbrot, nur Brötchen. Kein Milchalternative.

Above everyrhing rooms are cleaned every day. A lot of restaurant and shops in proximity. We consider breakfast of 30 eur per adult person and 18 for a child to be unreasonably priced.

A bit disappointed, as the room did not correspond to what was advertised. It was presented (with pictures) as a nicely decorated suite, but it was an apartment will small windows under the roof. Also, parking is convenient, but very expensive, in addition to the price of the room.

• Karen (1/5): Not recommended at all. Hotel is purely after making money - We booked a Suite as we were traveling with our baby. Nowhere does the listing mention that there’s a construction site right opposite the room we booked. The noise made it impossible to be there with a baby. The hotel offered us a studio instead which even the person showing us confirmed wouldn’t work with baby. We had to find a new hotel. When asking for a refund it got refused by the hotel as the construction is not their responsibility. I certainly understand that, yet it’s the responsibility of the property to mention this in order for customers to make a decision. We lost all our money which is extremely frustrating

• Robert (10/5): schönes Hotel und Appartements in zentraler Lage ideal für ein Wochende in München - zentrale Lage, Sehenswürdigkeiten sind zu Fuß gut erreichbar, Innenhof mit schönem Garten, schöne gut ausgestattete (Miniküche, kl Wohnzimmer, Schlafzimmer Bad/WC) Juniorsuite mit Balkon zum Innenhof, sehr freundliches hilfsbereites Personal, nahe Verkehrsmittel, Hbf in 20 Min. mit der Straßenbahn und in 10-15 Min. mit dem Taxi erreichbar Zimmer mir 25 Grad C etwas zu warm, allerdings herrschten gerade winterliche Temperaturen und die Fenster liessen sich zum Abkühlen öffnen

The high bath, the glass half wall and the hand held shower that when you try to attach to fitting falls down and sprays the entire bathroom! And the temperature that varies constantly! • Nadja (8/5): - Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Es riecht sehr gut im Hotel. Alles war sauber, das Zimmer sehr geräumig. Trotz Baustelle nebenan war es sehr ruhig. Die Lage ist top. Die Frühstückspreise sind total überrissen. Ein Kaffee kostet 9 Euro. Pro Tag hätten wir 30 Euro mehr gezahlt für das Frühstücksbuffet. Обязательно еще остановимся в этом прекрасном отеле Рядом с отелем идет большая стройка. Выбирайте номер с видом во дворик , который настолько милый и красивый

• Astrid (10/5): Unser Aufenthalt in Müchen war grandios, wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. - Wir wurden freundlich empfangen (George) und sehr nettes Personal. Auch für unseren Hund wurde ein feudales Hundebett und Hundenapf hergerichtet!!! Rundum war alles da was man brauchte. Die Lage war super, mitten in der Stadt. Wir können nichts bemängeln.

• Petra (4/5): leider unentspannt - Personal 30 Euro für ein mickriges Frühstuck finde ich nicht gut, Schalen haben gefehlt, Brot war keins da..... leider war eine riesen Baustelle gegenüber, soll bis 2027 da sein , selbst am Sonntag lief der Trocken-Generator, leider wurde nichts davon bei der Buchung gesagt, das gesamte Personal ist aber sehr nett und aufmerksam

• Anet O (6/5): - la posizione la persona che ha fatto il check in era molto gentile e disponibile ho dovuto fare diverse scale con il mio bagaglio, l'ascensore non arrivava al piano mio e anche la reception si raggiunge soltanto facendo delle scale l'arredamento non molto moderno piu anni '80, moquette bruttissimo c'era tanto rumore per i lavori di fronte il bagno non era pulito

• Cordelia (9/5): Wunderbare Tage im Herzen von München - Sehr gute und ruhige Lage. Das Apartment ist renoviert. Angenehmer Frühstücksraum, man kann auch ein kleines Frühstück nehmen. Sehr freundliches Personal!

• Barbara (7/5): - Location is definitely a highlight however currently there is a construction opposite and from early morning it's very noisy in rooms facing the street. So if you are not a morning bird it's not for you.Stuff is not as friendly and helpful as you would expect. Of course when all is okey then they are friendly and smiling but in case of any problem the attitude changes. There are two things. First as I mentioned there are construction facing rooms overlooking the street and workers are just like behind your window, looking at you. There are no curtains you can use during the day to give you a little bit of privacy from these workers. Second is value for money. 96 euros is added daily for a kid just for one more bed linen so in our case for 3 nights it was almost 300 euro for the sofa bed being turned in the bed all day. For such a price you have many options to choose from in nearby hotels and with breakfast.So check all extras carefully before booking especially that available options are usually fully prepaid and not refundable
