Our room view was beautiful matching the place name truly. The room is pretty spacious with a cute kitchenette and essential utensils. The issue with the kitchenette was that we could not put any food on the counter surface cause we saw ants on it so we have our snacks on the table and in the closed bag of ours or in the fridge. The sheets are very clean and smells pretty good. The bathroom was just ok we spot a few dead insects in the bathroom but since we were in the middle of the forest we expected that so it was fine. The shower was really great but the water pressure was pretty low compare to the kitchen mostly when you turn the water temp up. The in room Jacuzzi was fun and it was very clean. The heater was not working so they gave us another one. The carpets are not really clean but understandable again. There was no phone in the room so basically you have to go to the reception when you need something or just call their number with your cell. The main reason im not giving a higher star is basically because we saw a rat coming down of our fireplace on the 2nd night and they were full so they could not offer us any other room and we had to drive back towards home at 10 PM. cause i could not sleep where i know there is a rat. They refunded us for that night but it changed our next day trip plan as we wanted to explore the area more next day.
- salliebp (10/5): What a GEM!!! - Though we were expecting from the reviews that Sky View Inn would have a nice view, seeing the breath-taking beauty of the location in person was overwhelming. We were not prepared for the sheer beauty of the indescribably gorgeous view from every room at the lovely inn. Darcy and Richard, the delightful owners, recommended the Retreat Cottage for us, as it has a magnificent private enclosed deck to easily accommodate our two dogs. It was roomy, private, and comfortable. We spent many an hour just sitting on the cantilevered patio absorbing the beyond spectacular views. There is even a baby grand piano in the cottage to add to the ambiance. The kitchen is on the smallish side so we decided to forget cooking and go to the pizza restaurant about a 3 minute walk away for dinner. It was SO good that we one went back the next night, and to our delight, it had live music in a lovely outdoor setting. The area hikes were wonderful and there is even a gorgeous hike (one mile round trip) right outside the door that hugs the rim. Lake Arrowhead is about a 5 minute drive and is pristine clean and has a couple really delicious restaurants for lunch. All in all, Sky View Inn is an amazing new find for us, and we can’t wait to return!

- Mihaela (2/5): - Disappointing Stay - Not What We Expected We were excited to stay here after seeing a 9.4-star review on Expedia, but our experience was far from what we anticipated. This place is advertised as a cabin with four bedrooms, but it’s actually three bedrooms a loft with beds and a living room. We should have paid more attention to some of the lower-rated reviews. The first red flag was the strong sewer smell we noticed while on the terrace. When we got to the room, we saw holes in the sofa, which was extremely outdated, but didn’t think much of it at first. However, that changed at 11:30 PM when my daughter screamed, and a mouse ran from underneath the toilet, between my legs, and hid under the bathroom cabinets. Upon further investigation we saw the mouse hole and droppings. Other issues were hard to ignore. The AC unit in the master bedroom was surrounded by plywood, and the electrical wiring in the guest bathroom was exposed outside the drywall, though I assumed it might just be how places look in the mountains. The location did offer a nice view of city lights, but it’s right by a busy street, so the noise was constant. I’m not saying all the rooms are bad, but this was our experience, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype. I contacted Expedia and it got our money back. But that's not the point. We drove in the middle of the night back home spending 3h in traffic due to lines closure. My birthday was ruined and so was my family time. No refund for that.

- Stephen (6/5): One Time Stay - Room is large enough, but very stuffy since there was no air conditioner. The shower is very small but the bathroom was clean. Parking was excellent. The best thing about this place is the view. The bed was a little soft but someone my like that.

The air cooler was loud and didn't really cool the room sufficiently. But the weather was quite warm. The view is amazing and the breakfasts both mornings were AMAZING. The views were amazing as was the food her husband cooked up in the mornings. Our room was perfect with a great little walkout balcony to keep enjoying the amazing view. It was the perfect little getaway for our small family. My kids were obsessed with all the games and puzzles you could help yourself to. Highly recommend and hope to go back!
- BrittanyG1238 (10/5): Picture Perfect Mountain Inn and Wedding Venue - The Sky View Inn is everything I ever could have wanted in venue for our 60 person wedding. It is a family run inn, headed by the sweetest woman ever - Darcy. Upon our first meeting over a year ago when looking for the right venue in Lake Arrowhead and the surrounding areas, we fell in love instantly with the Sky View, as well as with Darcy. The breathtaking view and the facilities were exactly what we were looking for for our intimate wedding focused on nature, family, and sincerity. Darcy was absolutely integral in our entire wedding weekend, helping with every detail, but even more so during the planning phases and understood our vision from the beginning - even making suggestion that we integrated into the plan. Our entire family booked out the rooms at the inn for the weekend and all thoroughly enjoyed their stays, the amazing breakfasts, and the impeccable hospitality. We could not have imagined having our wedding anywhere else. It was truly magical and everything we could have ever wanted - all thanks to Darcy and her family. I would highly recommend the Sky View for any couple looking for a quaint but inspiring venue for their wedding, as well just an all-around great place to stay. We will be coming back for our 1 year anniversary for sure.

- Anna (4/5): - We loved the convenience to Dogwood Campground where my family was camping. Buuut... the AC unit in our room WAS NOT technically a window unit. It's a portable evaporator unit with an exhaust out the window and an overflow tube inside a 5-gal bucket to catch the water draining. It was so LOUD so we had to turn it off when we slept. But then it got so hot in the room, we turned it on again at 4:00 am! Our room faced the street and you can hear the cars very early in the morning (off Hwy 18) - there's no sleeping in at all. The mirror in the bathroom is in the wrong place. The room wasn't cleaned well. We found a dirty kleenex tossed behind the night stand when we had to plug in the light which was NOT plugged in. However, the bed was super comfortable! Parking was a breeze. Host was nice.

The only improvement would be air conditioning in the room - they did have a fan that kept us cool, but I can see it being an issue on longer trips with hot weather. Would recommend this stay.

The couch was very worn and broke down. The shower needs to be redone and would look cleaner. You have no control of the central heat so it was cold so you have to use the portable heaters. It smelled funny too, especially when it started raining. I wish I could post pictures.

- Verified traveler (6/5): A-frame family cabin is nice except wifi - We stayed in the A-frame family cabin. When we arrived, the check in was easy. However, it took us a while to find the welcome folder in the kitchen cabinet which was supposed to be left on the counter or prominent places. Then we tried to login to the wifi network, the login was fine, but the wifi was not connected to the internet. Upon investigation, we found that the coaxial cable connecting to the modem was bent and broken. The back of the modem where it was supposed to connect to the cable was just a hole. So we basically didn't have wifi service. The rest of the cabin is not bad, especially the night view of the valley lights was awesome. If wifi wasn't an issue, it would have been a very nice place.

I had to put seven chairs and the dining table on the door just incase someone tries to break in. The views were stunning. - Verified traveler (10/5): Charming inn right next to Skypark Village. - The owners were very friendly and the room was neat, with a kitchenette. Nice views, and spacious room. Ordered breakfast as well, which was great! The carpet was a little worn and bathroom was a tight space, but room itself was clean. Would recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy Lake Arrowhead- very close to Skypark Village!

We will definitely return back to stay for a longer time. We had never been to Skyforest before, and the restaurant owner, and hotel owner made us feel completely at home and comfortable. Breathtaking view from our front window, birds singing outside, and peace and tranquility awaited us at Sky View Inn! It was a one of a kind experience!
- David (10/5): - Beautiful Family owned and operated Inn!! The rooms are cozy and the view is breathtaking! My party stayed for a weekend night in the Retreat room. Service and staff are amazing, polite, and accommodating! Breakfast on weekend mornings are delicious and well portioned! The inn is also located in a conveniently close to Laker Gregory/Crestline and Lake Arrowhead Village. Highly recommend this stay for anyone in the area!
- daniele (10/5): the Perfect Placed to stay - My friend and I had the best weekend and this started it off just right! Charming place and fabulous balcony view that sold me to booking here. Rooms cute and clean and beds comfy and the best homecooked breakfast you could ask for. At night when we returned we sat in the quiet on the balcony and looked over the city lights so far away,,ah..what a getaway .. this is a Wonderful family owned business and will definitely be staying there again! - 214LisaB (8/5): Relaxing and low-key visit! - This place has "The View" of the surrounding hillside and valley below. I sat on the deck enjoying the view often during our 3-night stay. My sister, a local gal, recommended this spot for the great weekend breakfast, although our visit was between weekends, so we can't speak for the breakfast fare. The owner/operators were friendly and accommodating, easy to talk with, and happy to help. We arrived a day before renovations on the main building, so after the first night we were graciously upgraded to a 2-bdrm suite in a second building, to minimize construction noise. The first room was a small rustic space for 2, facing a shared deck area with that fabulous view. Comfortable space for 2 people. The lack of window screens may have been because the windows were being replaced the next morning. A nice fan made for comfortable sleeping. The second room was a spacious suite with private deck (again, that view!) and larger kitchen. Both rooms had thoughtfully stocked kitchens (utensils, plates, cups, etc., not food) and adequate hanging/storage space. In both rooms, those tiny "sugar ants" were voracious lil' buggers so we couldn't leave a dirty dish overnight. Dish soap and ant spray were conveniently provided. The buildings are older, the place needs some TLC which is in process. Parking is easy for guests. Location is central to a lot of areas on the mountain. We would stay here again. The whole visit was exactly what we were looking for: relaxing and low-key. Even the construction noise didn't dampen the effect.

- Europetravelller321 (6/5): Here for the view - The View is stunning. We travelled from the UK - SF - lake arrowhead so we were really looking forward to stay. We got a great parking spot right outside the room. The room has everything you need but most definitely needs updating. We enjoyed having a folder with numbers and maps for the surrounding area, this was cute. The down side - the carpets were super dirty, smelly and there was a random tablet under the bed - defo didn't give 'cute inn' vibes were used to in the UK. That being said, the view is amazing, the place is mostly peaceful and the kitchenette is a bonus. There's a great bottle shop and pizzeria that's a five min walk so another bonus. I hope the inn puts some money into it because it has so much potential to be better. Didn't have a bad stay but after a 7 hour drive it would have been a bonus to arrive to a beautiful, clean room. The TV wasn't working and the room didn't have a safe! This is most needed!!!!! Carpets, lick of paint, safe added and we'd defo stay again 💫
- Peter (10/5): Great place - The Inn was outstanding. The room we stayed in was excellent clean and comfortable. Bob at the front desk was friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed chatting with him . The 2 young ladies were both very kind and friendly with smiles on their faces . The breakfasts were very tasty hats off to the chef he did an outstanding job. The Inn has a million dollar view that you can’t get anywhere else on the mountain. The rates were very reasonable. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. The tap water is mountain spring water the same water the you can buy in a bottle . Peter Henck
- Verified traveler (4/5): Too hot to sleep - The room we got didn’t have AC or a fan. It was facing the front so we had no air coming in through the windows. We got a fan but it hardly threw air so we left that first night. The owners weren’t there and the person they left in charge got drunk on red wine so we couldn’t talk to him before we left or when we were going to check out. I called him to his cell and texted him but no answer. The hotel is cute but the heat was unbearable.

- Verified traveler (4/5): We will not recommend this place… any longer.. - It went downhill since the new ownership. When we visited a few years ago under the name, Sky Forest Inn, it was a B&B and the owner did an excellent job keeping up the place. Now, there needs to be a lot of upgrades and cleaning up in the property. Mold growing in the bathtub and it was gross.
