- Lindsay (10/5): Great Views - there was a lovely welcome pack left, which we enjoyed
- Christian Huemer (10/5): Traumhaftes Cottage - Tolles riesengroßes Cottage, alles perfekt Nichts
- Simon (10/5): Lovely house, cozy and warm as soon as we walked through the door. Great location, very peaceful. -
- Fraser (9/5): - Full house to yourself, perfect for a family stay, excellent facilities and value. N/a
- lorna (8/5): -
- Sumit (10/5): - Excellent place to stay
- Vicky (10/5): Fabulous stay - Beautiful spacious house equipped with everything you require with great location.
- Susan (10/5): - The wonderful view from the living room.

- Christopher (10/5): Beautiful place at a beautiful location - All went well. My only critique is we had no idea how to get into the house upon arrival, or find the specific house. We were in a foreign country and this was our first house.
Having an email sent saying "When you arrive the house looks like this and here is where to find it" would have helped. Also a note saying how to get into the house (We called the owner which took a long time to figure out how to do in a foreign country) and was told house was unlocked and key was inside.
Other than that, beautiful place at a great location.
- Fredy (9/5): - gab kein Frühstück
- Jean-Marie (10/5): So nice, so comfy! - Excellent. Very confortable, close to the city center... I will come back!
- DonnaMc1970 (10/5): Beautiful - Beautiful cottage in an ideal location.
- Susan (10/5): - This was a lovely little cottage tucked up in the back very homey feeling we loved it and will definitely go back. The owner and the housekeeper were very helpful with everything and anything we needed.
- Johannes (10/5): Loved our stay, even had a braai on our last day there. -
- Mary (10/5): Great cottage , would highly recommend. - the host had left milk, bread and some basics like that which was very thoughtful, not all airbnb's do that. Very spacious cottage, very clean, three excellent bedrooms and comfortable beds. Very well equipped kitchen. the setting was just perfect, looking out onto the water, and with access to the sea . There was a lovely little garden, with barbecue it seemed, but unfortunately we had only booked in for one night . I would highly recommend it for a base if exploring Skye island. We didn't get the benefit from the cottage as we were essentially passing through. The only fault was the sign for the cottage was quite small, hard to see. it is up a very narrow little winding road, and despite having the postal code we actually drove past it twice. Google maps isn't always very accurate, sometimes it doesn't even know its left from its right, but a quick phone call to the host, who was very pleasant, sorted things out,
- Karl (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eilidh (9/5): Provided every comfort at very short notice - The house was spacious, cosy and everything we could want was provided - comfortable furnishings, washing/drying machines and clean at very short notice.
- Rachel (9/5): Superb - Location was lovely! The space to accommodate our group was nice too. The couch in the living/dining room is a bit wore out, but we weren’t there long to really need it.
- Alan (10/5): Beautiful and peaceful. - Kitchen facilities, comfortable bed, good WiFi. Serene location.
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christina (10/5): Exceptional - We loved our house. It was perfect. Clean, comfortable, the kitchen has everything we need. We wached and dryed our clothes. Best view!
- Glenda (10/5): It was a beautiful little guest house with beautiful views of the harbour. - Breakfast not included. I had an enjoyable walk at 5.30 am for an hour. Nothing
- Anurag (8/5): Very good -
- Angela (10/5): A very comfortable place to stay. - Exactly as described. The property and furnishings were clean and very comfortable. It is well equipped and of a very high standard. Excellent. N/A
- Annelyse (9/5): We would happily go back - Amazing location and facilities, the houses are well equipped. We were a group of 7 in both houses, the small house was a bit cold, maybe because of the very high ceilings.
- Yoke (10/5): Beautiful coastal stay in a spacious place - Beautiful location! The property was also spacious with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable living room. The bathrooms were both upstairs but spacious and clean. The host also left treats for us upon arrival. The heating was a bit challenging to use. The property was cold upon arrival and when we came back for our second night it was cold again. This is not a large issue but something to keep in mind. The light in one of the bedrooms also did not work.
- Kuan Loong (10/5): - Only two things i wish the landlord to improve;
1) Bigger signboard (perhaps the house name)
2) Clearer sign for the car u-turn.
Other than that, this property is just perfect to me.
- John (10/5): - The manager cared enough about us to guide us to The Wee Hoose and also met up with us at their recommended restaurant. We enjoyed the exceptional care and personal interest she showed to us She and her husband were even kind enough to buy us a drink at the bar. We were made to feel like family
- Sandy (9/5): Lovely - Location and size, cleanliness Lovely to have breakfast but a few preserves for toast would have been a bonus
- Christopher Dean (10/5): Very cozy - A beautiful cottage with all the amenities
Very cozy
- Nadia (10/5): Exceptional - Everything! What a comfortable, charming, beautiful cottage! Wish we could've stayed longer.
- MICHAEL (8/5): - Very comfortable flat easy to check in lovely welcome gift
After
Driving from Edinburgh it was a short drive to the location easy to set off for day trips
- Administrator (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carmen (9/5): Spacious holiday home in Skye! - Absolutely loved our stay at the Hillside cottage, we stayed in the 'Wee Hoose'. The entire house was spotless, and such nice views from the living space. There's a double bed and a sofa bed, a big living room with sofas, table, chairs, and a fully equipped kitchen including an oven. There was a loaf of bread, a box of eggs, a carton of milk, butter, some cereal, tea, coffee, everything you could want for a nice breakfast. The shower was delightful, so good after a long day hiking. Please beware though, the water gets everywhere but is easy to clean up with the provided squeegee.
Will definitely be back! The bed is a tad small, but to be fair I've always found UK double beds small.
What would have made our stay even better was if the check out was until 11am instead of 10am. Our muscles were sore from hiking the previous day which made getting up in the morning a little difficult, haha.
- Joanna (10/5): It was a pleasure to stay in Hillside. Everything that we needed was in. Really recommend this place. -
- Ginger (10/5): Exceptional -
- Owen (9/5): Superb - Comfortable, well provisioned, convenient location.
A wonderful place to stay.
- David (10/5): As other reviewers have stated, this property was a pleasant surprise based on suppressed expectations from the online d - Spacious, good kitchen, great view, 20 minute walk to Caisteal Maol ruins. Nothing.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely homely place to stay
- Shenshen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eliot (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fergie (10/5): Exceptional - Location, clean & comfortable Nothing
- Damini (8/5): Overall it was good and we enjoyed our couple of days stay. - This was excellent property and lovely cosy house. Lovely location with good views. Property had parking but not easy to get out of parking if you have big car. It was very difficult to reverse and come out of parking.
- Debbie (6/5): Cosy and private house. - Location was good, parking, nice rooms , well stocked kitchen, private garden. Wifi did not work for the duration of stay. Garden hedges need pruning to better enjoy the view.
- Gogari (1/5): Not so nice place with a view - Location was nice Dirty greasy kitchentops, kitchen shelves, hob, dining table, carpets.
Extractor hood doesn't work.
Dodgy flooring on the 1st floor is unsafe for kids. Fire place is quite open again unsafe for kids.
Host unresponsive.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - The quietness Kylekin has become a centre for backpackers
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Quite location and walking distance to restaurants. Comfortable bed and great shower.
- Christian (10/5): Exceptional - Great quiet location. Perfect fit for our family to explore the area. Exceptional communication
- Aparna (10/5): Big and clean house with stunning view - The house had all the facilities and kitchen had all the necessary things for cooking, washing, had washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, dishwasher tablets, washing liquid, clean and comfortable beds, clean bathrooms. The view was stunning from bedrooms, could see the Skye bridge from the bedroom. We overall enjoyed the stay. The main door of the house is very old and we were slightly scared as the door did not close tightly.
- Karen (10/5): Beautiful surroundings - Location superb views brilliant. Steven and his wife welcoming and informative about area. Breakfast lovely freshly cooked. Nothing
- Sandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Logan (10/5): - It was a great location to travel Isle of Skye. The grocery store was close and had a great kitchen for cooking. Loved the rooms and the house.
- Ayushman (10/5): Excellent property to stay at with family. - The host had kept all the essentials in check. The place was stacked with butter, sauces, cleaned utensils, Coffee Machine with beans loaded, corn flakes and oats etc. The washing machine and dryer was in mint condition to use. The host allowed us for a late checkout at 12 as we were travelling with kids. The view was amazing of the new SKYE bridge. nothing at all, everything was super
- Mccord (8/5): Great place to stay, would stay again. - I had assumed we were getting a room in a house, so getting an entire small house (The Wee Hoose) to ourselves was a pleasant surprise! The house was great - well constructed and clean, with a nice view.
- Jeff (5/5): Passable - The location was great. The house was clean. BUT, the breakfast was nonexistent. Small cereal box without milk, jam but no bread and a few teaspoons of instant coffee. THIS IS A SELF CATERING! We booked a B&B but basically found a self catering accommodation. For 2 people/ 2 days there were 4 small boxes of cereal but no milk, 4 pads of jam but no bread and a few teaspoons of instant coffee. We had to find a store to purchase breakfast that was supposed to be included. For the price we paid, that was very disappointing!!!
- Steve (10/5): Fantastic - Location was lovely, everything we wanted Nothing
- Bruce (9/5): Superb -
- Penny (9/5): We loved The Wee Hoose which was comfortable and warm, breakfasts need to improve. - I booked Hillside but we were put next door in The Wee Hoose which was delightful and I have no complaints about that. But I was not told about the change, it was the lady who was staying in Hillside who was equally astounded when we turned up. She made a phone call to find out where we were to stay. The advert said breakfast included and so we were rather horrified to see the ‘breakfast for the 2 of us for 3 days. Please see photograph We didn’t have food with us and so we had to dash out having just had a 200 mile journey. If we’d known we would have been prepared
- Ritu (10/5): Exceptional - Cute and Cozy house located close to the Skye Bridge. The hosts lived right next door and were so warm and quick to respond to any request. Even greeted us on arrival and welcomed us to their home. I would highly recommend this for people visiting Isle of Skye. The only issue would be the bedrooms on the first floor which could be a problem for people with mobility issues who can’t walk up and down stairs.
- Paul (10/5): Great accommodation in a fantastic location. - Great location, spacious accommodation and all the facilities you need. Hosts are very friendly and helpful I was only there for one night. Wish it had been longer
- Fiona (10/5): Gutted we couldn’t stay longer - The house was spotless, the hosts were lovely so friendly and welcoming.
We arrived at the house 2 hours early because our ferry had been cancelled and they let us in.
Cant recommend this place/hosts enough! Nothing
- Juraj (10/5): definitely worth of money - everthing was perfect, nice area
- David (4/5): Not bud but it could be better. - It was clean and easy The heater didn’t work at night so it was really cold inside the house. The description sells front View to Maiol Castello and it was not.
- Mariana (10/5): Will tell family and friends to book this place! - Self contained cottage, spacious and very well presented. Open plan kitchen, nice bathroom and very comfortable double bed. Close to the bus stop to explore Skye further. Cooker hood was not functional.
- Gabrielle (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic place to stay, well appointed and very comfortable. Lovely outlook. Nothing.
- Mohan (9/5): Great place, value and location - Great place, value and location TV was hidden from the sofa. It needs to be moved over the fire place
- Gauthier (10/5): Exceptional, welcoming, homey - What a surprise! And what a view! 10/10 for everything. Maybe a longer duvet for the bed? A wee bit short on the sides. And WD40 on the door lock haha!
- Eduard (10/5): Exceptional - Everything!! The Space, the quietness and the view!! At first a little bit confused to just get into the accommodation without any reception.
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kate (9/5): Fantastic self catering on Skye - Everything we needed after our travels disrupted due to a storm. Parking right outside. A much needed washing machine and dryer. Fantastic views. We appreciated being able to check in a bit early. We arrived during the day but I can understand some of the other comments here about it being a little tricky to find. Perhaps a bigger sign? A new and larger frypan would be a huge help.
- Roseane (10/5): Really recommend! Don’t stay anywhere else!!. - Absolutely everything. The house has everything, extremely clean, fantastic location, the house is spacious and the fire place was an amazing touch.
The communication with the host was fast and the host is really nice and kind. We will definitely stay there again when back in Skye Nothing, everything was perfect really
- Peter (8/5): Very enjoyable actually. Just need to consider sudden outages, especially if it happens after working hours. - The help desk was quick to help us right at the start as we were struggling to find the location as it was past 8.45pm and was pretty dark despite having some street lighting. Ross was quick to lead us to our location through the telephone call we made. And the neighbour was so helpful to our plight. Thank you so much.
It was very well furnished. I have 3 children and they all have their own beds to sleep on. Happy.
Kitchen is well stocked.
The location is really good even for us who decided not to drive as it was just a 10min slow slow walk from the bus shelter. You can choose to move around the isle using the public buses or cab services.
Ours was a short stay so we could still enjoy the isle slowly if you plan the bus schedule well.
Love the ability to walk to the sea view within minutes. We had to check in late (about 9pm) due to our limited schedule. Checking in late night would be challenging as the GPS location would not have the pinpoint location (limitation of GPS of up to 20m error). So we struggled to find the lodge for over 10 minutes in the cold drizzle. Perhaps some improved signage for easier identification near the lodge to right up the actual unit in the dark would really help.
We faced a power trip the early early morning of our checkout. There was no access to the main circuit board (I walked around, both in and out of the house trying to find access to it). Fortunately the main lights throughout the rooms were still possible. The remaining ambient heat was sufficient to last us for the morning too. However, all wall sockets and all electrical heating were out of access and the ability to prepare breakfast was not possible.
It would be good to further separate out the main circuit board to allow at least some essential access to specific power trips. We could not use all the electrical points in the kitchen and the sitting rooms and all the bed rooms.
- Craig (9/5): Superb -
- Victoria (9/5): Fabulous quaintly situated, cosy cottage with everything a family needs for a stay on Skye. - Idyllic location for venturing on the Isle of Skye. A short walk from a historic castle ruin. The cottage was very roomy with ample facilities for families large and small. It boasts a fabulous view down to the little quay. There’s natural sounds at night with unspoilt night skies. The only thing that would have been appreciated was access to the downstairs toilet as it was locked (having more coat & boot storage room too) and the option for us to us the other locked room which we believe was a bedroom. This would’ve been good as one of our party has mobility issues and takes time getting up and down stairs. More photos of the kitchen and living room need to be added to the uploaded album as they’re lovely rooms not represented.
- Phil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (10/5): Wish we had stayed longer - Everything Nothing
- Andrew (10/5): Beautiful wee cottage with a great view of Kyle Akin. - Nice separate full apartment we stayed in the “wee cottage”. It had a nice homey feel that was great after our long day sightseeing. Nothing
- Tiffany (10/5): - Very nice accommodation and helpful staff.
- Kiersta (6/5): - We never met our host, we also called because we were usure where to go. Was hard to understand on phone. Thought it was a B&B. Very confused. Area was nice, and the house was very nice. Bathroom was nice to look at but, shower got everyting wet including the toilet paper. Had to search everywhere for an extra roll. The neibhors were nice, and the lady at the house up the hill was kind. We thought the guy on the phone lived there, cause we both heard him say come up, if you have questions. I would recommend to friends. Was just a weird first impression.
- Ginny (9/5): Superb -
- James (10/5): Nice property let down by communication, disorganisation and price - The location is superb, the facility itself is excellent The check in process - I had to hunt down the owner, who was disorganised to say the least, and the lack of communication regarding what is and is not provided is woeful. The price charged for what it is and no breakfast is quite steep
- Williams (7/5): Comfortable and clean - A comfortable place to stay while exploring Skye Building site at the back of the property
- Prateek (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dr (10/5): Exceptional -
- Toni771 (7/5): Good - Big living room and kitchen Bathroom: There is no curtain or any other shower enclosure. Therefore everything - incl. Toilet and Toilet paper - gets wet when you shower. And as the only shower "head" is a rain shower from above...
Everything around the Building is still under construction. And paying such a high rate for something that is still under construction is just not fair.
As soon as everything is done, maybe.
The other guest in the main building had a nice garden and could sit outside. I assume we paid the same as them. Their parking slot was directly in front of our living room windows. Therefore unfonfortable when they left or arrived and very noisy. And not a nice view
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing property, great views and so clean. The photos don’t do it justice, we had a fab stay
- MEGAT JOHARI (8/5): - Difficult to identify the property as there is only the name of the cottage, especially if you arrive at night. Otherwise everything is good about the cottage. The lower front room was locked and looked like it is meant for the servicing staff.
- Anonymous (8/5): really good - location and spacious rooms
- Rhianna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michele (8/5): Very good - Very difficult to find in the dark.
- Jared (9/5): Great time on the Isle of Skye! - The cottage was roomy, comfortable, and well stocked. We loved that it had a washer AND dryer, so we could wash our clothes. Three bedrooms was great for our family of 5. The bed in the master bedroom was a queen, not a king as we expected. Parking was also a bit odd. We had to park in the driveway of the cottage next door, which was being renovated, so luckily, nobody was there.
- Rene (8/5): Very good - Good location and very clean Rooms were cold
- Imogen (9/5): Superb -
- Kris (8/5): Very good -
- Ebalboab (10/5): Exceptional - The Rooms aré beatifull All i liked
