Guest Reviews
- Ryan (8/5): -
- Tory (8/5): - Clean, upgraded
- Laurent (8/5): -
- Janet (10/5): Perfect room, clean and has everything you need. Shower was superb. - I stayed only 1 night, so I didn’t participate in the offerings. What I liked was location near the Amtrak station, stores and coffee. There was nothing that bothered me, however I could see how maybe someone wouldn’t like the traffic sounds. That is NOT the hotel’s doing, the people that live in the area are driving very purposefully loud cars.
- Panagiotis Charilaos (9/5): -
- Joshua (8/5): -
- Rodney (8/5): - The room was very clean and had extra soap. The floor was cracked and loose near the sink. The cleaning people opened the door about 10:00 a.m. .
- Steven (2/5): Terrible sleep - Kind staff Room was so brightly lighted and so loud due to neighbor’s television I could not sleep well. Outside lights came through windows even with shades closed.
- Spencer (10/5): -
- Dena (8/5): - It’s the perfect location in Auburn. We stay at the Elmwood every time we’re in town. Nothing
- Robert (8/5): -

- Valliere (10/5): -
- Scott (10/5): - The front desk was awesome and kind. I'm speech impaired yet she made the check in process so easy.
- Arthur (7/5): -
- Silva (7/5): -
- Yolanda (5/5): Clean but needs updates. - The location. The heating system was antiquated.
- Nathan (7/5): - Clean, friendly and great location! Need black out curtains. The outside light comes through the blinds.
- Suarez (10/5): -
- jeremy (5/5): -
- Dave tisher (9/5): - The staff is very accommodating. The rooms are clean. I have often checked into motels at this price point and found there to be cockroaches. However, I have never seen a single bug here of any kind...any time im in the area, this is where I choose to stay.
- Edward (9/5): -
- Spencer (10/5): -
- Ryan (5/5): - Room was ok Parking was awful. No where decent to park.
- Robby Genest (4/5): -
- Samson (2/5): - Rooms were dirty smelled of weed and I got bedbugs got video and pictures of them crawling around got bitten pretty good on my arms and back, ended up sleeping in my truck with my wife from 2am until the sun came up all they wanted to offer me was a different room no thanks I'll pass. Hopefully I can get refunded by expedia, I'm pretty upset about the whole experience overall. 0 Stars
- Michael (10/5): - The checking was easy. I had prepaid for the stay. Miki was very helpful with my special needs accommodations. 1st floor, service animal. She was very nice and i enjoyed speaking with her.
For me, simple is perfect. I needed very little. My room was efficient and was all i needed. The room was clean and bright. Nice bathroom and shower. Good water pressure and plenty of Hot water. My queen bed was comfortable. The sheets and pillow cases were clean and fresh. There was enough for space for my gear, bags, and my pups bed. Again, he is a certified service animal.
Other furnishings were sparse. The surrounding area is a little busy at certain parts of the day and early evening, the rooms are set back from the street so it's not overly noisy.
Everything in zAuburn i is in close proximity.
I'll stay again when in town
- Tristan (9/5): Nice, inexpensive place to stay. - It was with in walking distance of ‘old town’. A great family owned restaurant was right across the street. The floor needs to be cleaned.
- Derrick (8/5): -
- Curtis (4/5): - On a very busy road so lots of noise. A lot of light coming through shutters. Shower not clean. Sink didn’t drain. Microwave didn’t work
- Dave tisher (9/5): - Customer service was exemplary.
The guy that checked me in was super friendly even though I arrived very late at night.
- Jazmine (10/5): - Owner was so nice. Stopped here on our way to burning man and needed a place to rest. Room was really nice and clean.
- Jessie (10/5): - Excellent value for the price. It is a little noisy because of location but it was comfortable and perfect for what we needed. Front desk staff was very nice and accommodating.
- Wonsuk Enzo (10/5): Fabulous value for money. Zero complaints. - Lovely motel that was fantastic value for money. Clean, quiet, safe, easy parking and 24 hour check in. Bravo!
- David (10/5): - Centrally located. Very clean and comfortable. Very nice staff. Room had everything I needed. Would highly recommend! Will be there next year! Thank you !!!!
- Tatiana (10/5): Great experience - Very clean, new bathroom appliance, comfortable beds!
Very nice staff!
- Maritza (1/5): So disappointing, charging $100 for a night and leaving with both arms and hands covered in bites is not fair to anyone. - Convenient location The room was not as pictured. The bed was infested with bed bugs, so disgusting. I tried to get a refund and management never responded.
- Robert (2/5): - We stayed long enough to take pictures and left to find a decent place to stay. It was so bad that I ate the cost, plus the cost for a new Hotel,
The pictures speak for themselves, but I will summarize the main issues.
1. Dead ants in the fridge
2. Mold in the shower and along all baseboards
3. The bed was soft that when we sat on it we sank into a pit in the middle (12" of movement).
4. brown stuff splattered on the ceiling
5. TV hung om the wall with the cords dangling below it.
6. No nightstands.
7. Air conditioner was disgusting
- Glenn (8/5): -
- Lil foot (9/5): Good atmosphere - Goood Everything
- Karin Smith (10/5): Cozy, Clean, Comfortable, Very nice at Check-in and out!!🌷 - This Motel was adorable it had underneath parking under your room so it was shaded we loved that we love the fact that it had a refrigerator and a microwave oven the beds were very comfortable and the room was super clean and the attendant that was there was really really nice her name was Anna. The front desk was very nice when we checked in and it was very close to the downtown area within walking distance it had a Starbucks and a CVS. We would recommend this place to anybody looking for a nice place to say that's quiet and clean and comfortable! Nothing
- Eun-joo (1/5): Horrifying!! - Nothing! Both rooms on the first floor were straight out of a horror movie. They then offered a renovated room on the 2nd floor. Not as horrifying as the first floor but still not good. Found a tiny dead bug on the sheet and nope! We were out of there. Did not stay the night. The manager said he would confirm the refund but still no response to booking.com customer service. So I am forced to dispute it through my credit card company. Not happy that booking.com could take payment but not issue a refund. Especially after a month long road trip where I was a loyal customer to booking.com for my nightly hotel needs.
- jamie (10/5): - This is a great deal. If you need a clean place to stay the night in a safe area this is your choice. Very simple design with upgraded interior and has fridge and microwave. Basically two bedrooms to sleep in and bathroom /shower but perfect for what we needed coming in late.
- Melissa (8/5): I would stay here again - Not a luxury place, but best you can get for the price. Room had what you need to spend the night- comfy bed with night stands, usb ports on the outlet next to the bed, a desk, nice bathroom and sink area and all of the usual toiletries. I brought an eye cover (lights are pretty bright outside, the blinds/shutters keep most of it out) and ear plugs (it is in a busy area). Everything was clean and visually pleasing. The guy at the front desk was friendly too. It comes with the great location, but it is a bit bright and noisy. Come prepared and you won't have an issue.
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Denise (10/5): - The staff member at the desk was super friendly and kind. The room was clean amd everything worked properly. Really just cant gobwrong with this place.
- Skipstjsprat (5/5): Passable - The location is great, the staff is friendly. The room with 2 beds had a separate room for the second bed, which means that it got super hot if the door was shut. There is no separate AC for that room.
- Gary (8/5): Very good -
- Robbie (10/5): Perfect location, friendly staff! - Standard motel, so as expected, but bed super comfy and staff really helpful. Great location. A little bit scruffy in places, some pen scribbled on the wall etc, but as expected for a motel and the things that mattered, sheets, towels etc. were very clean.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place!
- Goodrich (8/5): Very good -
- Bart (10/5): - Newly renovated! Great value! Great place to stay.
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional - This is a great economy motel! The staff was nice, shower was nice, room was clean and recently updated. Great value! I’ll be back.
- Michael (7/5): Decent Spot Convenient to Uptown - Nice little spot to spend the night. No frills, a bit of street noise and my check-in seemed to confuse the staff almost to the point of no return. At the same time, just a block away from the cute and lively uptown area with restaurants, shops, bars and the Gold Rush Museum. Staff could not figure out how to use the computer during my check-in...to the point that I was very frustrated. Place is no frills...tv, beds, a small fridge and an uncomfortable chair are about it for comfort.
- Scott (6/5): - Good: Generally clean, newish bathroom, bed, near downtown Auburn shops.
So-So: room size small, very basic furniture (no drawers)
Bad: *Lots* of traffic noise (next to a busy intersection), incl lots of motorcycles.
- Brigitte (6/5): - This motel was definitely not worth $199 which is what we paid for the 1st night which was a Saturday. Maybe $90 which would have made up for how noisy it was for being on the corner of a main artery. We had never been to the area so we didn't know what to expect and we had read the other reviews so we thought for place to sleep it's just fine. When my husband saw the room, the 1st thing he said a coat of paint wouldn't hurt...I guess that's we get for picking a motel however it shouldn't cost $200 for a night even when we stayed 2 nights and the 2nd was cheaper. Still not cheap enough for I'm afraid.
- Thomas (6/5): It's ok. - Clean rooms. Hotel located at a major, very noisy intersection. TV was eradicate. Walls need painting in bathroom.
- Thomas (10/5): Best Bang for the Buck in Auburn - Fantastic location with the nicest staff I’ve interacted with in years, so nice and welcoming to their motel!
- Kunal (7/5): Good - Cheap and Convenient The shades need extra layer of curtain or window blind. Hairdryer was missing. Body wash wasn’t provided.
- Heidi (1/5): Very disappointed, and disgusted with the cleanliness. Only hotel/motel option in town. Will not be returning. It - That it was close to downtown. It is very noisy for starters.
The covered parking stalls are very cramped. The first room we checked into had the two bedroom option. The private bedroom was very hot and stuff with no hvac system to allow to cool the air. No ceiling fan either. That room needs some freshening up with some paint and a better mattress and at least a fan and some lighting.
The main area had a lot wrong. First the cleanliness. It smelt like pizza. The refrigerator dial was broken so we couldn’t figure out how to get it to cool down. There were 2 TV remotes without instructions or a printed TV GUIDE of channels. The mattress was paper thin.
When we went to contact the front office about all our concerns and needs, the phone was covered in what looks like pizza vomit on the receiver.
Walked down to the main office, and explained everything and after the second time of needing their assistance, we were offered a different room.
Which was so much better. It had been cleaned, have been updated and way better mattress and fridge was working and had the control dial display. Also one working remote. The staff were very kind and hospitable.
The second room was still very noisy. It woke us up frequently from all of the traffic, people. The street outside of the hotel connects to the freeway and needs work so it wouldn’t be so loud. Semi’s drive thru there frequently and all vehicles hit sound metal and it makes very loud noises with each passing.
Also no vending machines, coffee maker or filtered water stations for drinking. Although there is a convenience store across the street.
- Robert (10/5): - I was looking for a clean place to sleep on a rail trip. This was a great place that fit my needs. It was clean and looked recently remodeled. When I check into a new place I always check the sheets and bed for signs of bugs. Past the test!! The sheets were clean and very nice to sleep in. The owner was nice and showed interest in my stay. It was a good stay for a motel.
- Jarrod (10/5): Amazing location! - Amazing location and great staff!
- Misty (8/5): Very good - Great hospitality!
- Richard (10/5): - Great place to stay to walk the city!! Staff is very friendly!!
- Elizabeth (6/5): Pleasant - Clean and tidy; instumentals and heating turned on made a welcoming entrance. Would have liked black-out drapery to block outside lights.
- Natalie (10/5): - If you’re heading to the Auburn area to hike and explore this is a great, affordable option! Rooms were very clean and the owner was super friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be staying again the next time we are in the area.
- Barak (9/5): Excellent value, clean, and good service - This was a last minute booking during a road trip, we needed a place to stay for the night.
The location is excellent and there was plenty of parking on site.
Don't be discouraged by the outside appearance; our room was very clean and the heater had been turned out ahead of time so we entered into a cozy, warm room.
The mattresses are comfortable, and there were lots of towels for all of us.z
we didn't need the microwave or mini-fridge, but it was nice to have them in the room.
in the morning we had access to the complimentary keurig coffee in the office.
we were relieved it was a non-smoking facility note that this is listed on booking.com as a "double room with two queen beds" but it is actually a double room with two double beds.
- Martin-vargas (1/5): Not clean, not respectful, not great. - Staff was nice. It was in a noisy area. Visitors or residents do not respect your privacy. We got woken up one night because someone was asking for a lighter you can hear everything through the walls. The rooms were dirty, the fridge was dirty. The sheets were dirty. I would not come back to this place.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It is modest motel with recently updated rooms. The rooms are clean and fair service. The location is a little noisy because of the traffic but that is the case with most motels. It worked for us for a one night stay.
- Melissa (10/5): - Quiet and clean motel that is close to old town and at a decent price. Will stay again.
- Karen (7/5): Good -
- Mark (6/5): Pleasant - The toilet seat was loose.
The shower door would not stay closed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): No frills motel - No frills motel. Good enough to stay the night on the road. Only complaint was the heater was kind of loud.
- Wendy (9/5): Superb - The owners and the housekeeper were very nice and very thoughtful and helpful .
We will be coming back here soon ..
;) Remote to the TV didn't work on
- Megan (1/5): Dirty, smelly, unclean sheets. - Nothing Everything
- Turner (5/5): Probably not again unless I have to - The people in the next room stayed up all night doing drugs and having exceptionally loud sex. A lot of people coming and going all hours of the night in that parking lot, seemed like a drug hot spot, unfortunately. Aside from the sink not draining and the unsavory people around, the bed was quite comfortable. Regular maintenance on the plumbing and ac/heating unit could have gone a long way. The woman who checked me in gave me someone else's receipt and experian booking. She failed to listen to me about it when I initially brought it up about the price being different. I had already pre paid.
- Glenn (8/5): Very good -
- Jon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cicek (1/5): Bad - Very bad place for a family
- Verified traveler (2/5): Misleading advertising - This hotel has a misleading advertisement stating family room +2 bedrooms when it’s actually one room with two beds. I was not happy about that. Overall, maintenance condition was not good. Traffic noise was extremely loud. Could not sleep at all.
- Julia (10/5): last minute stay since it was snowing over the pass. owner was very helpful and assisted in securing some frozen food it - very comfy bed, very clean room, super nice owners, walking distance to restaurants. we liked everything
- William (6/5): - street noise was very high
- Yevgeniy (10/5): - The property was clean , a lot of white towels, front desk was so nice gave us 3 cans of beer, l want to stay there again and it’s nice area nobody sell drugs on property no drug dealers outside of hotel too l want to buy the house in that neighbourhood
- Gilbert (8/5): Auburn sleep over - Nice clean and not super pricey rooms close to freeway!!! Owners seem nice!! Only issue was traffic was super loud in room at nights when trying to sleep!!
- Jennifer (10/5): - Ty
- Scott (10/5): - Incredible views. Great getaway that's close to home (Folsom CA).
- Verified traveler (2/5): Just Don't. - had to get a refund because of how disgusting this place was. smelled like cigarette smoke right when you walked in. hairs on bathroom floor, dirty door, blood by the light switch in bathroom
- Tyler (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect for the price.. very close to the downtown area. You can walk to breakfast without bealing a sweat. Staff very friendly and accommodating
- Pablo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hanspeter (10/5): A real good place! - It is a very nice Motel and really quiet during night even it is locatited on a busy road during the day.
We slept very well there.
The sgaff is very friendly and helpful and made our stay a pleasant one!
- Alexandra (10/5): Great quiet location, great friendly staff, super comfortable beds, great shower, - Beds were so comfortable, shower was warm and great pressure. Location was perfect for walking to restaurants and coffee and shopping. Great parking options. Updates are nice but not super high quality products being used but overall value for the cost is really great and are not problematic.
- Dave (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mary (8/5): Very good - The staff is very nice and caring. It is an inexpensive hotel so it isn't all super fancy, but the bed is comfortable and the shower and TV are fine. I booked a double queen so that we had more room for our stay . It can e noisy during the day, but we were never woken up during the night by traffic noise.
- Craig (8/5): Comfortable basic hotel for a budget price - Nice comfortable basic no-frills motel for a budget price. We just needed a place to stay overnight and this was perfect. The facility is a bit aged and used, but they keep up on paint, maintenance, and the like. My only complaint is that there was more road noise than I prefer.
- Kirk (6/5): Pleasant older facility that is well maintained. I would stay here again. - I liked the location near downtown, in easy walking distance from the motel. The room was pleasant and well maintained. The staff was friendly and gave me some free water when I arrived, it was a very hot day. I liked this motel much better than the one I had stayed in last year in Auburn. Room could have been further back from the street and noise from street traffic.
- kevin (10/5): The Best Value in Auburn, CA, Clean & Comfortable - This is an independently owned Hotel and everyone working here is extremely kind and helpful. I would be here for one night but I liked it so much that I booked another night's stay. The location is phenomenal, coffee shops, restaurants, bars, wineries, and shopping are all just outside the door and it's less than half a mile from I-80. It is an older motel but everything has been updated and is safe and comfortable. When I checked in the owner told me I could have a complimentary water or beer for the adults I said I'll take it and he gave me both bottled water and Medelo beer. I like this place and will stay again the next time I'm through here.
- Rachel (10/5): Good place to sleep 😴 - Needed a place for a night after moving my mom out of her house to my brother's home - exhausting days, needed quiet and a comfy bed. Great on both. Slept awesome.
- Katherine (9/5): Superb -
