- Edouard (8/5): Ok - Good
- Bryan (8/5): - A hidden gem really. Nice gentleman on phone and also at check in. Quiet. Surrounding property gave me a little hesitation but overall very pleasant. Over head light in room wouldn’t turn off….oh well.
- Kim (10/5): - Friendly staff that welcomed you and asked how your drive in was. Totally worth the price and neat to park right by your door..like the good old days. Shower was a nice tile and large.
- Harry (8/5): Affordable option when visiting kids - Motel is very nice relative to the cost. Room was large and clean. Beds were comfortable.
- Tina (10/5): -
- Timothy J (4/5): Underwhelming - Air conditioner put out cold air, but wasn't dehumidifying so sheets on bed were damp/sticky. Flies in the bathroom (why?).
- Rusty (10/5): - Nice clean room!
- Matty (4/5): -
- Matthew (10/5): Excellent budget stay, stay if in the Indy area - Excellent experience. Clean, quiet, cheap. Daily cleaning. If you're on a budget and don't need amenities beyond a coffee maker, tv, fridge and microwave, you cannot do better than the Royal Motel. Updated bathrooms, exceptionally comfortable bed and pillows. I will always stay here when I visit the Indianapolis area. 10/10.
- Kenneth (10/5): - We made a last second reservation after not being abke to find anything in Indianapolis. Turns out it was a great choice! The Royal Motel isnt fancy, but its clean, quiet and felt safe. The staff was friendly, and cleaned daily. We stayed for most of a week and had no complaints. If youre in the area this is a good choice.
- tracy (6/5): - room was clean for the most part, bed comfortable & staff were nice.
bathroom is small & doesn't have any electrical outlets available.
room did have a distinct smell but nothing horrible.
overall, i think it is a good place for a short stay.
- Leah (10/5): - We stopped here for one night. Our room and bathroom were very clean. The bed was just how we like it, firm, not too soft and the pillows comfortable. We could control the a/c to get the room to a comfortable temperature. I liked that we could park right by our door. We had no safety issues. The staff were friendly and courteous. The next day we were off to our destination.
- Vickey (8/5): - Only there for one night. It met our needs for that night.
- Greathouse (10/5): Quiet getaway - It was quiet not very many people there and it's just a nice getaway
- Kevin (10/5): - Staff was friendly and the room was clean. Rates were excellent. Conveniently located.
- John (10/5): - Friendly staff, clean room, quiet location, good price.
- Candice (8/5): - Slept great!
- Whitney (8/5): - Quiet
- Whitney (10/5): - Very quiet and very nice staff
- Michael (10/5): - The room was immaculately clean. The gentleman at the reception desk very friendly and accommodating. I would stay there again.
- Francis (10/5): - The owner of this property did a excellent job renovating it. No, it is not new structure but it is new when you walk into the room. Much better than the new Microtel we stayed at last night.
- rakhi (10/5): - The room was exceptionally clean. Initially, I had low expectations but was pleasantly surprised by its comfort. As we were unable to secure a room in Bloomington for graduation. we opted for Martinswale, where Royal provided a clean and quiet stay.
- Virginie (10/5): Quiet and clean - Warm welcomed and great service. Good heater system as we came in during winter. Not a bad commute from Bloomington.
- DR PHILIP (8/5): - You can’t beat this place for the price.
Nothing fancy (e.g. coffee maker in room, plush towels, hangers), but very clean and convenient off highway.
- Michael (8/5): Nice place - Good rate and close location to where i wanted to go
- Philip (8/5): - I was pleasantly surprised with how nice the room was. Location not the best (right next to busier street), but room was adequate, clean, and plenty of hot water.
- Ronald (10/5): Just the right stop on a bitter cold night - The Royal provided me with a comfortable late-night stay after 3 days of train & bus travel. The price was right, the room was warm (when it was 1 degree F outside!), & the host was friendly--especially after she learned that she'd once attended college in my small hometown. A pleasant stay.
- Evan (10/5): - Great place to stay, very clean, quiet, and friendly!
- mbfan97 (8/5): - Nice little motel !
- Mark (10/5): - This was a nice place to stay for the cost. Friendly customer service! 😊
- Susan (8/5): - Reasonable price
- Scott (10/5): - Very clean property and room. Friendly service at check in!
- Karen (8/5): Very good -
- Larisa (10/5): - The hotel is very clean and well-maintained. It offers no-frills, basic accommodations, perfect for travelers looking for an affordable place to stay for the night or two.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Estela (10/5): - Easy check in!
- Grace (2/5): - Smelled like cigarette smoke and public restroom, small bugs in the room
- Christopher (10/5): - Very nice it’s definitely a keeper. Its location is kind of in a hard place to get through but they were working on the road and entrance so understandable. Awesome place
- Chad (8/5): - Nice and clean
- Michael (8/5): - The air conditioner was very good but sleeping in the same room as a light sleeper was a little difficult
- Matthew (10/5): Excellent budget motel. - Budget motel, perfect as a place to sleep.
Very clean with daily room cleaning. Comfortable, affordable, I'll be staying again.
- Tonie (10/5): - We were satisfied with price paid. Very clean. Exactly what we needed.
- Jack (10/5): Wish other hotels were half this clean - Older hotel but updated, very clean room
- Dawn (8/5): Good economy hotel - It was fine. Nothing terrible. This is an economy hotel with no amenities or extras. It was clean, ok as far as comfort. The noise of the window air conditioner was annoying and the fact that the tv sound is locked at 17 making it hard to hear was annoying, but we weren’t there much and really just slept there since we were there for a winery concert. We had to go to the gas station across the street for ice. It’s economy and fine for that. It was clean, the bed is comfortable (although the pillows were small and flat).
- Jody (8/5): - Loved the vegetable garden. Bedding was unique. There was a big pothole we didn’t see on the way in that should be fixed. Friendly staff and overall a surprisingly sweet place. Although the hotel staff recommended another cafe, we went to Come n Git it and loved it there. A definite highlight.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean. Quiet. Functional. - Clean and quiet. Totaly functional.
- Cody (8/5): - Nice classic Motel. Very affordable. Right on the main road though so a little noisy.
- Brooke (10/5): Good deal for the price - I was meeting a friend for a night. The shower had hot water and good pressure. It was a decent size room. There were some weird spots on the bedding, but other than that no complaints.
- Haley (8/5): - Cute roadside motel, well cared for and clean!
- Gavin (10/5): - Great place! Super nice people and clean facilities!
- Karen (8/5): - Clean bathroom and bedroom. Quiet. Friendly desk clerks
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Royal Motel was exactly what I expected -- a decent room for a reasonable price. The staff was friendly and the room was exceptionally clean. I would stay here again.
- Angela (10/5): - This is an old-fashioned walk-up motel. It has a lot of character. The room was very clean. The bathroom had updated fixtures and was very clean. The beds were comfortable. It suited our needs well for an overnight stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Decent motel but thin walls - I came in to see the 2024 Eclipse and this was one of the few places less than $500/night. Decent motel - bed and room were nice. My only complaint is that the walls were super thin and the neighbor got into a screaming match with his phone at 2 am in the morning - the walls were so thin I heard every word (and most of the other part of the conversation coming through the phone too.) I wish I could do 4 or 5 stars but since it threw off my sleep so much I can’t go above a 3.
- John (10/5): - Nice hotel. Great staff, very clean.
- Larry (8/5): - Room was nice and cozy had all the amenities I needed staff was friendly and motel was very close to where I needed to be and offered access to highway and local roads I would definitely recommend staying here to family and friends
- Karen (8/5): - Quick stay for a wedding, any longer and I would need something closer to more food options.
- Chad (10/5): A Hidden Gem in Martinsville! - We decided on this place as a last resort because other hotels were booked up. However, we were pleasantly suprised to discover that this motel is a gem! Very clean, very comfortable! You can tell that everything in the room was updated within the last year or two...new tub/shower, vanity, bed, bedding, flooring, paint...you name it. From the outside, it looks like an old motel, but it's a great place at a great price and we'll definitely stay again!
- James (10/5): - Staff was great! I stay in hotels very frequently and the staff and service was top notch, will definitely stay here again upon returning to Martinsville!
- David (10/5): - Wonderful surprise! Even better than its 8 of 10 on Expedia. Older hotel scared me, but everything was redone even down to the plumbing and electrical. Very nice, comfortable room. Some road noise early in the evening so we turned on the fan and didnt hear another thing all night. The only negative was no ice or hair dryer. Still, i would stay again and enjoy it! Wonderful bargain so dont be afraid to take it!
- Carolyn (10/5): - Staff. Excellent. Still needs a few small amenities but is still being remodeled Had a great stay. Rating is 5 out of 5.
- Raymond (4/5): VERY, VERY NOISY all night - Due to very close highway traffic and some mechanical screeching near our room. (Room 41). Sounded like tortured cats.
No coffee maker. Overall clean. Good bed linens.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Enjoyable stay - Friendly, very accommodating, updated rooms with refrigerator and microwave. Bed was comfortable. The only item on my wish list for our next visit would be a coffee maker in the room.
- Monika (8/5): - Very spacious room with 2 beds, fridge, good wifi, modern electronic air conditioner, clean bathroom. Overall, very pleasant 1 night stay with my family.
- Coastal21855889569 (2/5): Worst motel Martinsville - Would recommend staying clear of this bug infested, moldy motel. Stayed for week in June for job. Come home to my room with Ac off every day, windows open. The best was get in room to see my bed disassembled, room totally mess.
- Randall (8/5): - Older property not pretty outside but good & clean rooms. My compliments to the owners.
- Dawn (10/5): Bare bones but oerfect - We needed a place to stay for a night for a concert we were attending. I had booked the Royal because there are not a lot of choices in the area. What a pleasant surprise. The owners are very nice and accommodating. It is a bare bones place but we didn’t need a lot. It is spotlessly clean and the bed is reasonably comfortable. The air conditioner is a little noisy but I always have a fairly loud fan in my bedroom. The TV was not working and the owner came over and promptly replaced it and made sure it worked. . We’re coming back for another concert in July and will definitely stay here again
- Sheila (10/5): - Nice and clean beautiful rooms smelled great
- Stephen (10/5): - Clean room
- gary (8/5): - well kept. Excellent for the low price.
- Christina (10/5): - Rooms were very nice and beds very comfy. Staff was awesome.
- Renee (8/5): - Sort of loud right by a busy street but served it's purpose
- Jacqueline (8/5): - It was nice and clean
- Joel (10/5): - Nice place. Friendly staff, very helpful, and very clean.
I like these simple places.
- Robert (10/5): - There was a monster truck show in Indianapolis it was the only room I could find that made it a gray room.
- Nathanael (10/5): - The wind chimes were very soothing. Clean, quiet, safe. Not far from Indianapolis. I will stay again if I’m in the area. Kind and professional staff.
- Steve (10/5): Don't let the EXTERIOR decieve you!! - This simple and extremely affordable family owned Motel is much nicer than you would ever expect when you see it from the road. The room was completely updated, the beds where very comfortable, and it was exceptionally clean!
- Deb (10/5): - The owners were very friendly and helpful!
- SureStayhotel (10/5): “Great room and location” - We stayed here for two nights. The owner gave us a great nearby recommendation for a place to eat. He was always pleasant and attentive. The many comments about the cleanliness are well-deserved; everywhere looked like it had been freshly painted and was spotlessly clean. I could walk barefoot on the carpets without any concerns. Recommended for everyone who looking budget price and nice rooms.
