- Katharina (10/5): Lovely stay in a peaceful location - Everything was great! Really lovely quiet and safe location, nice staff, spacious, lovely decorated and clean room. Beds were also very comfortable and breakfast and the next door (cute) cafe was a good deal :)
- Md. Abu (9/5): - The overall assessment indicates a positive experience. The environment is characterized by a comfortable, home-like atmosphere, distinguishing it from a typical hotel setting. While staffing levels are constrained, the team consistently maintains a cordial demeanor. Several areas have been identified for enhancement, including improving the visibility of essential information. Specifically, the WiFi password requires more prominent display. The current lock and key system is conventional and warrants an upgrade. Additionally, the installation of a hot water geyser in both the bathroom and washroom facilities is recommended.

- Anna (10/5): Cozy stay in a vibrant location - The hotel is located in a peaceful area, away from the city noise, yet centrally located. The hotel’s courtyard leads to a market place that is a vibrant shopping and gathering spot among the locals, especially for the expats living in the city (farmers’ market on Saturdays). The room was beautiful and spacious and had a warm vibe. Saroj took care that everything was well at all times, and was available, if I had any doubts or questions. I would definitely stay here again!

- Krystyna (8/5): This was my fourth stay at the Museum and I would definitely return here again if in Kathmandu - Prakash was super helpful. He was always available via a what’s app to help with organising a trip, taxis, etc
The hotel is so nice and quiet and the cafe does a lovely breakfast . All staff are welcoming . The courtyard, which also houses a cafe and some shops has a security guard and feels very very safe even returning in the dark. The Japanese cafe in the courtyard was excellent for supper . The hotel is about 30 min walk to Thamel ( or 350-400 npr taxi drive) . It feels so different from the many large tourist hotels having only a small number of rooms. There is a fantastic market held on Saturday mornings with pop up food venues and high end handicrafts. The water is solar heated - if you get bad weather for a few days it runs out .

- Yoshi (10/5): A very pleasant and comfortable stay — great breakfast, relaxing room and a convenient location. - Service:
The staff were attentive and met all my needs, making my stay easy and comfortable.
Room:
The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Bottled water was conveniently provided just outside the room.
Breakfast:
I had the Eggs Benedict with salad and a latte for breakfast — it was excellent! The portion size and flavor were just perfect to start the day. In addition to the café that serves breakfast, Le Sherpa and Hokkaido Japanese restaurants are conveniently located right at the doorstep. The only minor issue was that the shower booth lacked a door or curtain, allowing some water to splash outside.

- Josh (10/5): - Really nice rooms - clean and spacious. The staff are the best and really look after you whenever you need something. Breakfast was great too!
- Kajal (8/5): This is a good place to stay. - The location of the property was great, staffs were welcoming and attentive. Overall my experience was good in this property. The breakfast was really yummy. I also enjoyed the dinner at Lesherpa which you should not miss if you choose to stay at this property.
If you love vintage vibes then definitely go for this option.
Great location, good food, peaceful environment, friendly staff members. The only thing I didn't like was, the force of water in the washroom was not so good.
- Keisha (10/5): - It was a great location, very clean and comfortable. Would stay here again!

- Flaminia (9/5): Recommended for a peaceful stay in a central location ! - Quaint place with simple and quiet big rooms in a lovely compound. Clean and very comfortable bed. Welcoming staff and good job done by the Manager Saroj.

- Inchi (9/5): Superb - I had a great stay at this hotel. The staff was attentive and regularly checked in to ensure my comfort. The room was lovely and reasonably priced. I'll definitely stay here again when visiting kathmandu.
- Julia (8/5): Very good -
- Julia (8/5): Very good - We chose the museum because of the location and the price. Having lived in KTM we know the area well and appreciate the museum's quiet location. The rooms are decorated with artisanal simplicity and provide you with everything you need. We loved our stay
- Min (10/5): Exceptional - Great service, and amazing location, perfect place. Liked it,
- D (10/5): Exceptional - My wife and I stayed at The Museum on the first two days of our ten-day trip to Nepal. This was our first time in Kathmandu, and staying at this place was just the great start we needed before heading towards Pokhara. The property is around 3km from Thamel, near the Office of the President of Nepal, in a quiet area. A bus service can take you to Thamel, but we preferred walking. The hotel is part of a compound with the restaurants Le Sherpa and Yakitori Hokkaido, a cafe, and other shops (wasn't interested as food is my strength!). There is also a Sikkimise restaurant outside the compound. We were happy with our room and the service the hotel provided us. In addition to that, we asked for help to book a bus ticket for Pokhara. Mr. Saroj was more than helpful and got us the ticket. Overall, it was a lovely experience.
- Mark (8/5): A charming oasis of calm in the hustle and bustle of a city. Excellent hosts who were always on hand - This property is in a quiet area but just a short distance from a busy main road. The location gives good access to all areas of Kathmandu.
The two hosts (Saroj and Prakash) both went out of their way to help me on a few occasions.
The cost of the stay represents excellent value for money too. There is very little to dislike. The are and property felt safe and presented good value for money
- Frances (10/5): Wonderful homey and very convenient place to stay. - We had a great stay at The Museum during a return trip to Kathmandu. Saroj and Prakash were courteous and helpful from start to finish. They arranged airport pick up and took care of our every need during our 16 night stay. It was like staying with family, relaxed and homey. Our room had all the facilities we needed including a small kitchen, large water bottle (good to avoid lots of smaller plastic bottles) and a very comfortable bed. The location was excellent for easily getting around the city. Having Le Sherpa restaurant, Hokkaido Japanese restaurant and a super coffee shop right at our door was also a bonus. Saroj even bought us coffee on our final morning as we packed our bags. Thank you Saroj and Prakash. for such a lovely stay. We felt very cared for and hope to see you next time.
- Pragya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sangam (10/5): Low-key, underrated yet excellent hotel - The room was very clean and organized, and quite spacious. It featured a clean walk-in shower with a sit-down toilet. Hot water was available.
Daily housekeeping was available.
I caught the cold during my stay (because I had not acclimated to Kathmandu yet) and I had asked a lot of requests to the owners. They fulfilled all my requests gracefully and kindly -- driving me to the pharmacy, advising me on what to eat and where to eat, etc.
The property was also in a very nice, quiet location. The moment you walk into the gully in which the hotel is located, the hustle and bustle of the busy main street starts to fade away. You don't hear any horns or vehicle sounds by the time you get to the hotel. As a result you can be very well-rested here.
There are a couple of really nice restaurants within a 10-minute walk (De Silauta Kitchen ~1 minute walk; Walnut Bistro ~10 minute walk, Le Sherpa Restaurant is on the same property as the hotel).
Given that Thamel is only a ~10 minute drive/taxi-ride away from this hotel, in my opinion, staying here is far better than staying in Thamel. Hotels in Thamel tend to have small, cramped rooms, and are situated beside very busy streets (so it's really loud and there's a lot of smoke and dust). They're also significantly more expensive for the amenities they provide. None; I have no complaints.
- Chauhan (9/5): Superb -
- Leanna (10/5): Brilliant stay - The location is very central but the place is calme ! Beautiful surroundings and clean with fab restaurants around. The team are so helpful and accommodating. Mr Lama who manages the hotel is absolutely amazing. Comfort is top ! I recommend without hesitation None
- Bikrant (8/5): Very good -
- Sanjelchhetri (8/5): Good value for money. - Location, quietness, value for money, comfortable bed, good bathroom with hot shower, working air condition, electric kettie & coffee. Musty odour, empty front desk, bare bedroom floor.
- Verma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sachin (9/5): Superb - The location is great. In a quiet alley. The rooms are nice and spacy
- Krishna (10/5): It's great - Good location Peaceful place
- Tilachan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yannick (10/5): Our stay at the museum was a great experience. The room is quiet, the property is charming and spacious in an inner pati - Spacious, clean, quiet, very kind and accommodating staff and owner
- Sachin (8/5): Peaceful Stay - Its located in a very quiet peaceful place. The rooms are nice and cozy. The location is also nice. The staff and management are very helpful. No late night food options. Everything closes by 9.30pm
- Prajwal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebecca (8/5): Very good - Helpful staff, peaceful location, cool cafe next door. Large room.
- Hari (5/5): Passable - Location wise was good, but few others !!! What i expected but not!!!
- Jeongha (1/5): I loved this hotel, especially stone room from 2019. but not anymore. - Oldies. but not Goodies. the facility were not managed well. 1 year ago, when I stayed 15 days in stone room, the room looked old, but managed well.
I couldn’t understand the manager “dilib” who worked as a manager nowadays, especially why he received salary.
7 days ago when I checked in, the ac/heater machine was broken. Remote controller also not working. He said he would fix it. Curtain also broken. Toilet fan made ultra big sound. So you must turn it off to sleep.
After 7 days, today, nothing was fixed.
AC/heater’s degree looked 32, but actually it made cold air. It’s not a summer season. It’s February. cold temperatures will go down below 10.
- Cristina (8/5): Very good - Dilip is such a great host and very helpful. Thank you Dilip🙏🤗 The water in the sink is not heating and water changes its color to brownish /green.
- Alok (1/5): Bad -
- Gautam (8/5): Very good -
- Valerie (10/5): Lovely place!! - Really beautiful location! Very fancy! Very quiet! Probably one of the best places I stayed during my 2-3months in Nepal. Breakfast is at this gorgeous restaurant next door. If you are there on Saturdays there this really cute farmers market.
At night there is a guard out so it feels very secure There wasn’t always someone at reception and had more airBNB vibe but I actually really loved the quietness. The owner had given his number in case of any issues but I was all good.
- Sarah (9/5): Wonderful I wish we could have stayed longer - The room was spacious and clean. It’s a simple honest no frills place which I like. The location is away from all the madness that is Kathmandu in a beautiful garden setting that it shares with a lovely coffee shop and a high end restaurant. Couldn’t fault the property. The only advice I would give to anyone thinking of booking here is that while there are plenty of hole in the wall type local takeaways in the area there isn’t much else. Both the cafe and restaurant are excellent and good value but they are not cheap.
- Bingfeng (10/5): I wish I could stay here longer. - The atmosphere here is great. So comfortable and quiet and relaxing. Room is clean. Hot water is good. Staffs are so friendly. There are different kinds of restaurants and small shops like fruits, flower shops nearby. And the a-m-a-z-ing Saturday Market is just here. none

- Arun (9/5): Superb -
- Seema (1/5): Bad - The facilities mentioned in the site don't match with what they actually provide.
- Arun (2/5): Disappointed - Dirty water in the washroom. No staff around to help.
- Hardik (10/5): Exceptional - Very quite and relaxing stay away from hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. However the location is right in the centre.
- Shailendra (7/5): Good -
- Adriana (10/5): Relaxed area - we stayed for 2 weeks, The area is so relaxed and staff are always there to help. Amazing cafe under the hotel to work from there
- Subham (8/5): Very good -
- Lawrence (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful architecture, decore and ambience. Highly recommended!
- Prafulla (10/5): Exceptional - Great rooms! Excellent service . Stayed twice because we loved it much.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The Museum Bed & Breakfast is conveniently located to the Thamel shopping district by cab and close to the airport. There’s a really great farmers market every Saturday as well. My only two complaints are that the heating unit in the room broke and we were very cold at nighttime. They didn’t seem too interested in fixing the problem. The water pressure was also very weak and slow. Hopefully that can be fixed. There is a great little “health” food store on site as well as a nice cafe for breakfast and lunch. Also, there is a very good fine dining restaurant on site for dinner. There are a few other boutique shops on site. Charming place. Parking is available. The WiFi worked well most of the time. We had to reset the router for our room a few times.
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional - Great rooms! excellent service. stayed twice because we loved it so much.
