- Hitakshi (8/5): Great location, staff and convenient location - Great stay overall. The location was excellent and very close to the bus stop, making it easy to get around. The apartment was clean, had all the amenities you’d need, and even included a small dishwasher which was a nice touch. The views from both the apartment and the spacious balcony were lovely, especially overlooking the city. The apartment itself was slightly compact but worked well for four people, and we appreciated that a rollaway bed had already been arranged in case we needed it. Check-in was smooth and the reception team was very helpful throughout, including storing our bags before/after our stay. The only thing that wasn’t ideal was that check-in happens in a different building from the apartment, so we had to move our luggage between locations. It’s a short walk, but was not expecting that. Also, one of the bathroom drains was clogged during our stay. We weren’t able to report it earlier as we weren’t around for maintenance access.

- Nicole (6/5): - Relatively clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful. Kitchen was well stocked. Apartment was actually another block further up the road from the address advertised. Didn’t get told until checking in, and given direction on where we actually needed to walk to. So hadn’t planned on being that far from the train station, dragging suitcases. Very noisy, windows blocked out no noise so not recommended for light sleepers.

- Teguh (9/5): Comfortable stay with great location and helpful staff, but housekeeping could be improved. - The room was clean and spacious, and it came with a kitchen and all the necessary amenities. It also had a washing machine with a dryer, which was very helpful for us during our stay. The location on Spencer Street was very convenient, with several public transport options within walking distance, including tram stops, bus stops, and Southern Cross station. It was also close to Coles (supermarket) and the Spencer outlet shopping area. The receptionist was very nice and helpful. We were originally supposed to check in at 3 PM and planned to leave our bags at the hotel first when we arrived at 9 AM. However, he informed us that the room was already ready, so we were able to check in early, which we really appreciated. We stayed for 8 nights, and during our stay, there was no daily room cleaning service provided. Basically, we were okay with that, as we took care of our own rubbish by disposing of it in the chute and washing the kitchen amenities ourselves to maintain our comfort. We also fully understood that requesting room cleaning would incur an additional fee. However, if the building management wants to maintain the property well, it would be better for them to at least check the room condition every 2–3 days during longer stays, whether for cleanliness or general maintenance purposes. We also feel that the free WiFi service and speed could be improved.

- Adele (5/5): Disappointing - photos are deceptive, but conveniently located - The photos are deceptive - it is very sparsely furnished and although exceptionally clean, the furnishings looked like they had been donated by an office building that had closed down. The good things - located near the Skybus, and being located on the 15th floor the views were great. However, I won’t be returning to the apartments next time. A distinct lack of cutlery, depressing furnishings, complete lack of interaction from the reception staff during our stay - they did not acknowledge us when we passed by that area which exudes a feeling of disinterest. Although the apartment was clean, it doesn’t cost much to give us a clean sponge - a small complaint I realise, but combined with everything else I was pretty annoyed.

It was great to have a balcony and laundry to use. Staff were very friendly. Sheets on the bed were terrible. The bed is two single beds pushed together (totally fine) but the sheets mostly top sheets that came off every night. When we asked staff to change for us we were told that this wasn’t included so every night we had to wrestle the sheets coming off again. Kitchen was not well stocked utensils wise.

- Jonathan (6/5): A disappointment. - 1. When we arrived at the reception desk, we were told that our apartment was not in the main building but in a building 1 1/2 blocks away. This was never mentioned as a possibility in the Spencer Street website. My wife and I are 80, and we had to drag our luggage (we arrived by plane) that distance. We also had to walk back with our luggage to return the key. 2. We are from abroad, and we did not know how to call for a taxi, so we asked the fellow at the reception desk to phone for one for us. I heard him calling in an Indian language, obviously to a friend who has a cab, and when I asked him, he said the cab would arrive in 10 minutes. I pointed out to him that Melbourne is huge and his friend might be far away, and he said, well, in 20 minutes. I asked him to phone Melbourne's main taxi company, and he refused. He said this is "serviced apartments" and not a hotel and that he had no reason to be of help to us. We had to find someone on the street who could tell us how to phone for a taxi. (This occurred at 9 AM on April 1 2026, in case the owner reads this and wants to know who was the receptionist.)

- Margaret (7/5): I had a great stay at Spencer St Apartments. The location was fantastic, the staff were amazing!! - The location was fantastic, very close to Southern Cross station and to coles and the Spencer St Outlet. The staff were amazing!! Very helpful and prompt for all enquiries.

- Terri-Lee (7/5): - The balcony was great to relax Bathroom wasn't the best the shower needed a good clean with the grout and the shower was so dirty along the bottom inside and outside The couch needed a good steam clean it was so dirty i needed to get the spare sheet out and put over it before I would sit on it There was cobwebs in the bedroom with spiders

- Mikayla (8/5): - Loved the location, space and how well equipped it was. No spare towels, no hand towels, shower was impossible to make warm, it was either scalding hot of cold.

- CHAN (9/5): Wonderful stay. - Nice reception gentlemen. Good facility. Good location. Comfy beds. The sink in one of the bathrooms was not draining normal but fortunately it didn't cause too much inconvenience.
