Very nice layout, big spacious compared to Japan standards. Very well equipped. Super appartment. Maybe a bit of walking to the station, but trust me its worth it!

• Christian (9/5): We’ve enjoyed the japenese style of living in Kyoto. - We loved this Japanese house. The entrance area, the tiny stone garden, the high sealing and the lovely living area were our highlights. The property is perfect for 4 persons. The neighbourhood is very quiet. Providing just one key is very inconvenient for a group of people with differt time schedules. We highly recommend to provide at least a second key or a key storage right at the property.

• wenjie (10/5): 温馨安静的住处，适合家庭入住。 - 此处是一栋十分别致紧凑的双层民宿，打扫得非常干净，准备的烹饪器具和餐具也很不错。有一个很小的庭院，栽种了一棵枫树，秋天应该会很美丽。周边非常安静，床垫软硬适中，可以安心睡眠。在二层中间还有一个书房，可以处理个人事务或读读书放松一下。管理房屋的公司职员会第一时间联系，并提供详细的入住导引，有问题也会得到及时的回复，非常周到。距离京都站不远，日常饮食和购物可以在步行十多分钟的距离内解决。 如果能设置一个浴帘可能更好，可以方便喜欢站着淋浴而不是泡澡的客人收拾浴室。
• Christine (9/5): Pretty house but hard beds - The house is in a nice quiet neighborhood with a grocery store and Lawson nearby. We appreciated the stocked kitchen with plates, silverware, kettle, refrigerator and there was also a washer/dryer in the house. The house was clean and had two bedrooms upstairs with an office in between. The air conditioning worked well throughout the house. The one bedroom that had "western" beds were the hardest we experienced during our time in Japan so it was difficult to get a good night's sleep. Our teenage sons slept on futons on tatami floors and they said those were okay. There is only one bathroom which is downstairs and bedrooms are upstairs, so if you get up in the night you must walk down/up steep stairs. Unfortunately this was not within comfortable walking distance from Kyoto Station with luggage, but there was a smaller station that was closer that did connect to Kyoto Station. There were not many choices for restaurants within walking distance. This property is owned by a company that emails a lot of instructions and requires you make an appointment within certain timeframes to receive the keys. This is not easy to do for travelers who do not know exactly what time they will arrive or will arrive after the company's cutoff time at night. In my opinion this causes unnecessary stress for travelers who are not operating on a very strict schedule or will be arriving at night. The check in person spoke English and was very kind and professional, but the need to make an appointment and meet at a certain time to receive keys was very inconvenient.

• Maria (9/5): Experience a traditional Japanese home. - The location was great. Only 5 min taxi ride to station. Bus stops near by. Quiet neighbourhood. Supermarket three blocks away. House is comfortable and very clean. Be aware that there are stairs to bedrooms. All beds use futons.
• Andrew (10/5): Excellent self catering base to explore Kyoto - Excellent space for our family of 4. Well equipped kitchen and nice quiet location (felt away from the typical Kyoto tourist crowds). Very good value! Only relatively small thing; the toilet and bathroom is downstairs and bedrooms upstairs.

• Maryam (10/5): Peaceful haven in a peaceful city. - We stayed here as a family of 4 and the Kyo Akari villa was so pleasant - it was a cool and restful haven from the hectic holiday weekend in Kyoto. Air conditioning in all the rooms and a very helpful book explaining everything you need to know about the property amenities. The location was good with excellent bus links and not far from the subway station. We loved the quiet nature of this residential area and it suited us as a family but we equally loved being able to walk easily to Gion district too. An extra thank you - as when we arrived before check in time with lots of luggage and the lockers at the station were full the reservation team were very responsive and helpful. They came to the property early to check us in which was such a relief. Then after we checked out a couple of days later they were quick to contact us regarding a missing item. I’d highly recommend this accommodation and the reservation company. Small things like additional hand soap in the separate WC but this was really minor.

Many sights around the area and within walking distance to train station. The staff were extremely helpful with our requests and very polite. The futon bed was a little tough and the pillows were quite hard.
