Inga (9/5): Friendly staff, thoughtful service, clean rooms, and a great location - Very friendly staff who beautifully decorated our room for our anniversary. They also prepared a delicious and generous breakfast lunch box for our early trip to Machu Picchu. The hotel was clean and in a great location. The sound insulation from the corridor could be better, but the hotel was quiet at night, so it wasn’t a big issue.

Café da manhã péssimo , minha amiga foi tomar café às 9 h e não tinha nada e nem repuseram. Atendentes rudes e grosseiras não ajudam com nada. O hotel cheirava mal. Achei abaixo da critica, não recomendo pra ninguém.

Visi (8/5): Preferred location over the more central area of town with standard amenities and great value. - The location is what differentiates this hotel from others. It is up the hill a good bit from the train and bus stations, and this makes all the difference. We stayed in a hotel right next to the train station our last night, and all we heard were loud, repetitive announcements and the trains themselves well into the night. With this hotel, it is closer to where locals live towards the path for Cascadas Alcamayo, and this provides a much quieter scenario. The location to price value was the best in the area we could find. Breakfast had sufficient options, but it could be improved upon. The beds could definitely be larger and more comfortable, but this is a theme with all of the hotels in the area. Live/satellite TV channels would have helped with our children, but we did not spend much time in the hotel anyway.

Nicole (2/5): - I do not recommend this property. All three rooms my group booked smelled strongly of mold, with visible mold in the bathrooms and on the walls. Even worse, our room keys could open each other’s rooms — a serious safety concern. We raised these issues with the manager, who showed little interest in addressing them. We ended up checking out two days early due to the conditions, but the hotel refused any refund or compensation. I’m a seasoned traveler and not picky, but this was beyond acceptable. The property has potential, but guests should be warned about the current state and lack of basic standards for health and security.

Checked out two days early due to poor response from management about duly reported legitimate concerns about my personal health, safety, and comfort.
Philip (8/5): A good option if you like to be slightly out of the buzz but still close to everything - Large room, very comfortable bed and the room was well serviced and kept immaculately clean. Staff were friendly, location is at the end of town so away from any noise at night. Wifi a bit variable but generally a good place to stay. Breakfast was limited and not always replenished so you might arrive at 7am and coffee and eggs, for instance, have already run out and only get replenished if you ask for it.

Wolf_meister (6/5): Clean and Friendly, but Lacking Warmth and Character. - We recently stayed at Golden Sunrise in Aguas Calientes and had a generally good experience. The hotel was clean, and the staff were extremely friendly and made a real effort to make us feel welcome, which we truly appreciated. That said, the actual feeling of the hotel was much more sterile and cold than the images had conveyed. While the photos suggested a cozy, boutique atmosphere, in person the hotel felt quite plain — more like a hostel than a hotel. We initially reserved a room here for my mother because of the convenient location right across from the Inkaterra hotel. After the first night, however, availability opened up at Inkaterra, and we moved her there. Overall, Golden Sunrise is a good and clean choice if you are looking for a simple place to stay — just set your expectations accordingly regarding the atmosphere.

brittanym139 (10/5): This is THE ONE. - I found this hotel after having a horrible experience at another hotel nearby. Angelina was so kind and helpful when I came in very stressed, tired, and frustrated carrying my kid who also had little to no sleep the night before. After telling her my experience at the other hotel, she offered to show me my room before I paid so I would be comfortable. The room itself was wonderful. Large bed, much larger room than many hotels around, smelled good, was clean, and had hot water. The hotel is nice and convenient from the train station drop off, and there is laundry next door. There is also an elevator, which is really convenient. The breakfast is actually breakfast with a large buffet with many options, way better again than the other hotel we stayed at. They store your luggage after checkout as well, and even though the hotel was almost fully booked, Angelina remembered us every time we walked in and out, and even offered us an umbrella or rain coat on a rainy day. In comparison to the nearby options, I'd choose this one 1000 times over.

Irina (8/5): Very good - The room is spacious, luminous and clean. There was a jacuzzi in the bathroom which was amazing to use after a day of walking around. The water is hot, which apparently is not the case in all the hotels. The bed is huge and comfortable. It's very close to the train station but there's no noise from it whatsoever. The staff is slow, which seems to be a national characteristic. Eeeeverything takes 3x time, so be patient 😊 I don't know if it's this hotel or the town in general but: It's very humid in the room, and especially in the bathroom. The clothes in the morning feel wet. And the surfaces in the bathroom never get dry.

Karla (7/5): Brand new “luxury” hotel managed like a budget hotel - A balcony on the suite was nice and the bed was comfortable. Mountain View likely rare in crowded Maccu Picchu Pueblo The overall experience was minimal. The common spaces and rooms were spartan, not luxury, breakfast dismal and chaotic, fridge unplugged, no in room coffee and tea in lobby was always empty. Desk was not always staffed including no one there midday to help get bags from storage but did not matter because bags were not locked up so we just grabbed them. Security clearly not a priority. The hotel is brand new and could be upscale, but is managed like a budget hotel so not worth the price.

Blanca (8/5): Well located hotel in Aguascalientes (Machu Pichu village) - Location is good as the hotel is in a silent street still close to the train station and bus stop to Machu Pichu. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was too simple for 4 star hotel. Windows were open when I got to my room, which is not ideal in an area where there are mosquitoes.
Charrito (9/5): Great for overnight or a few days stay while hanging around Macchu Picchu area. - Great if you need some peace and quiet away from the main town areas. The room was very spacious and there were views to the adjacent mountain from the small terrace. Close to amenities, convenience stores and restaurants. Instant hot water showers if you need it. Free breakfast included. The night receptionist was very friendly and helpful. There is another building being constructed in front of the hotel which is now blocking most of the river view and obstructs the mountain. I was on Level 5 and looking out of the terrace into a half constructed building wasn't exactly appealing, however, this is more of a town planning issue rather than the hotel.
Charalampos (9/5): Best place to stay in Aguas Calientes - Good location, away from town noise. Nice, spacious, clean room with comfortable beds, hot water, bathroom with jacuzzi. Friendly and helpful staff - we asked for extra blankets and got two heating units. OK breakfast but not great, wifi had some issues. Not the best view from our window, light from the street at night can be disturbing, no ventilation in the bathroom.
katjat909 (4/5): Lax security with passports, disorganized breakfast, leaky toilet in room - Decent rooms in terms of size. Our room had a funny smell and we realized later that our toilet leaked. The shower was hit or miss. Some days it took 10 minutes to get warm, one day I had to take a cold shower, but then the next morning it was totally fine and hot. A little unpredictable. The location was fine, Aguas Calientes is small and walkable. The room was reasonably clean. The breakfast was hectic because everyone got an early start to Machu Picchu and they only had a single person working the kitchen, so they constantly ran out of juice, eggs, bread, etc. The front desk staff was not great. They took our passports at check in and told us we could come back to pick them up in 20 minutes (would have been nice if they had offered to deliver them to the rooms but OK). When I showed up downstairs to retrieve my family's passports, the front desk and lobby area were empty, a stack of 10+ passports was displayed on the bar and the door to the hotel was propped open. Anyone could have walked in from the street and grabbed the stack on passports!! I would not recommend this hotel. There are enough other choices in Aguas Calientes.
Maria (8/5): Lovely well located hotel. - We stayed for just one night. The hotel was well located and clean, the town is small so you can pretty much reach anywhere form the hotel. The staff was friendly and the room was very comfortable - the view of the mountains was lovely. Only issue we had was that there was a small leak in the bathroom that made the floor wet at times.

Sherwino (10/5): Hotel By The River - I picked this hotel because it's one of the few hotels near the train station that had everything my group needed. We were a group of 16 and we were looking for a place that could accommodate all of us, with breakfast, elevators, bag drop, and more. Golden Sunrise had all of that. Even though it is close to the train station it does not get much of the foot traffic from the train. Access from the train station is not that straightforward as you would have to go a little out of your way to get to this hotel. It's in one of the far ends of the town past the football stadium. One thing I really appreciated is that the staff of the hotel were there at the train station when we arrived, they had a sign with my name to guide us to the hotel. This is something we didn't request or expect. Conveniently the hotel also has a few markets and restaurants nearby. The businesses in this side of town are more catered to the locals. The breakfast offered a little more options than your average continental breakfast, looks like everybody seemed to enjoy it. Hotel was near the rivers so you could hear the water swooshing by. The staff did a great job. Didn't like that there was no ac to control humidity. The unit we stayed at smelled damp, but aguas calientes is pretty cool all year round

Staff were very nice, okay breakfast, clean rooms. There are a couple of laundry services near by. A little noisy at night but that’s to be expected in the city
0Poinsettia (10/5): Lovely stay in a good location - The hotel was in a decent location to walking around, but also a bit off center to be nicely quiet. Close enough to train station. Breakfast was very nice. Laundry services prompt. Front desk knew English. Good coordination of tour services. Cleaning staff were thorough. It is a basic hotel but very good with good cost. 100% recommend.

They went to the train station to guide me to the hotel, then they gave me a lot of advice for my MachuPicchu visit, and even it was 6 hours after the checkout, they assigned me a temporary room to take a shower before taking the train to go back to Cusco!

Dean (10/5): Highly recommended - My room was very spacious. The bed was a dream. The wifi was excellent. The room facilities left nothing to be desired. There is a very large flat screen TV (with all internet streaming services) with sound system. The bathroom was large, but my highlight was the jacuzzi in the room. After an exhausting (but gorgeous) hike to Macchu Picchu, there was no better place for me to relax in this hot tub. A large balcony overlooking the small river and a mountain with a very quiet neighbourhood completed the visit. Not to be forgotten: The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Yishai (7/5): Good - The room is very spacious and the beds comfortable. The staff were nice and helpful. The bath in the room was great. There is an option to leave the bags in the hotel when going to the Machupicchu. When we arrived there weren't hot water in the shower and we had to ask them to fix it and waited quite a while before we were able to shower. Also the main bulb in the room didn't work. If it was a two stars hotel it wouldn't be a problem, but we expected more. The view from our room was actually into a building site.

HKRedneck (10/5): Great budget hotel in Aguas Calientes - No, it is not The Park Hyatt, but remember, you are in the mountains of Peru, readying for a trek, not shopping on Fifth Avenue. The hotel is clean, safe, quiet conveniently located to restaurants, the train station, shpos and bars...the beds are comfortable, the shower and wifi work fine, breakfast was more than adequate. The chap running th property was super friendly and helpful, going out of his way to look after us. Even after checking out and returning inn the afternoon we were welcomed with tea and a dry place to shelter. We'd come back here simply due the kindnesss we were afforded.
