• KittyGattino (10/5): Great Inn - We had a great visit to Mount Rainier National Park. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the restaurant at the food was good and waitstaff attentive. No WIFI but nice fireplace to sit and read!

• Iryna (8/5): - Clean room while a bathroom was shared it wasn’t much of an issue. the sink is in the room conviniently. It was a bit warm at night, so recommend opening window at night. Also there was no wifi in the hotel at all but a short drive to nearby museum or to the visitor center resolve it as there was wifi and even cellular connection. Hotel offered preparing lunch for the trail for the next day- totally worse it, since there is mo much options around. Also be sure to bring cash in case card option is not working.

• Dan (8/5): - The only negative was booking a room where you share a communal shower. Be prepared to have your own flip flops as at around 6pm, the shower looked like a hiking group came in from the woods. Long hair on the floor, water everywhere and a dirty shower floor. I went to another shower on same floor which was only marginally better. I did not take one in the am. And be prepared to wait, and wait..otherwise everything else was good inc. breakfast…
• Gina (10/5): - The front porch view is amazing and the ability to grab a delicious breakfast and head out to explore Mt Ranier with no wait is unbelievable. We had the best time just being unplugged from all the distractions of our daily lives. Highly recommend!
• kerries956 (2/5): Eat outside the park - The restaurant at the Inn is usually not so good service, but on this occasion it was totally awful, the food was over-cooked and the prices (as usual) were outrageous. The servers at this place could care less if you are there, pay little attention to you but joke with each other, and make you wait interminably for your crummy food.
• Karen (2/5): - Room was very small, the bed uncomfortable, and no AC made for a sleepless night. The staff were good and the restaurant was decent. I would stay outside the park on future visits.
• Randy (10/5): - We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. The staff was extremely helpful, the room was comfortable and the location was great for experiencing Mt Rainier NP. We had a room with a shared bathroom/shower, and never had to wait for either. When our car wouldn’t start the staff quickly located a portable charger and solved our problem. The dinner we ate at the restaurant was delicious. We enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs on the porch, looking at Mt Rainier.
• Neemr22 (10/5): A great way to unplug and relax. - We have always tried to stay in any national park we can. The National Park Inn did not disappoint. The rooms were quaint and ours was a bit small. But keep in mind that there are only 25 rooms at the inn. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. The food was nicely prepared and tasty. The best part was having our Irish coffee sitting in a rocking chair on the front porch as we watch Mount Rainer fade into the darkness. Andrea at the front desk was helpful and Theresa for dinner and Pia for breakfast were great waitresses. A most enjoyable experience..
• SallieF2014 (10/5): A lovely hotel experience at National Park Inn and who doesn't love Mt. Ranier National Park!!! - What a lovely inn! National Park Inn is both historic and modern. We loved the friendly and expert wait staff in the dining room, the patient and accessibe front desk staff answerng a million questions, the large porch veranda for afternoon reading and dozing in rocking chairs, the afternoon tea served with scones in the living room, the comfortable rooms and accessibility to all things Mt. Ranier. We chose the hotel plan (5 night) with breakfast and dinner. The staff get to konw you quickly and are friendly and smart and gracious. The room we chose was the double with sink....we shared showers and bathrooms with others on the floor. This was not a hassle. We never saw anyone else! It is more like a European experience of shared facilities but everyone is quite respectful and so the whole experience is lovely and comfortatble. We are 75. We loved the hiking and the National Park Inn and all things Mount Ranier. We hope to be back when we're 80!!

There’s also an on-site restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch, adding to the convenience of your stay. I would recommend booking this property for a cozy, nature-focused getaway.
• jdowner76 (10/5): Exceeded expectations - We really enjoyed our stay here. As long as your expectations are realistic, you will too. For starters, it's inside the park entrance, so you have a head start on everyone else heading up to the Jackson Visitor Center in the morning. I booked a room with a private bath, which meant we did not have to share with others. My wife was very relieved about this. They say there's no wifi or cell service, but we got one bar with Verizon sitting at our window, and there's a spot near the ranger station where I got two or three, so I could sit at a picnic table and do whatever internet stuff I needed to do if it was too slow in our room. Yes, it can get hot, but we kept both windows open (our room was on the corner) and used a fan to keep the air circulating. It might be an issue in August, but in late June it was fine. We enjoyed the general store too and would have liked to try the restaurant but didn't get the chance. Front desk staff were always kind and helpful.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Would stay again in a heartbeat - Every aspect of our stay was better than I expected. The lodge is comfortable, inviting and well-built. The service was excellent and our room was perfectly clean. Can't wait to return!

Our room was very clean and comfortable, just small with enough room for a queen bed and dresser. The restaurant on site was very good, but also quite expensive.

• jhareaz (10/5): Cozy, historic inn- perfect for exploring the national park! - Perfect location and cozy place to stay to experience Mt. Rainier on a cloudy Mother's Day weekend! We loved having a quiet weekend at this wonderful inn. The beds were comfortable, towels and bathrobes/slippers were very nice! We didn't mind the shared shower at all- it is private and clean, and the shared bathrooms were fine and close to the room. Everything was very clean and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We loved coffee on the patio watching for Mt. Rainier to peek through the clouds. There was tea and cookies in the study in the afternoon after our hike and we returned to the study later in the evening to play games and visit with other travelers, by a roaring fire. The dining room was excellent! Loved the pot roast and bison meatloaf for dinner and the prime rib/salmon at the Mothers Day buffet were excellent! We highly recommend visiting at this time of year!

The beds were comfy but definitely not queen size. Im 6'1 and my feet were hanging off. Dinner was so expensive and honestly tasted like cafeteria food. We would stay here again however I would not dine here even though the waitresses were nice.
• M528WYlindah (2/5): Lodger Beware - If you are looking for a comfortable room and delicious dinner, this is not the place to go. The bed that I slept on was so springy it reminded me of a trampoline how much it bounced. I could not roll over because of it. The second twin bed had a piece of plastic hard sticking out of it about three inches. We complained to the front desk clerk who did nothing about it. We had dinner in the restaurant on the premises and the meatloaf Left something to be desired. At $35 for meatloaf, mashed potatoes and some asparagus ,I expected more. Rolls were not even offered with dinner. A single cup of coffee is 3.50. The carpet throughout the building looked like something straight out of the 1970s. I understand they want to keep things maybe more rustic, but it looked drab and dreary. The only good thing about this place was it access to hiking at Mount Rainier. I highly recommend you finding a different place if you consider this one.
• yoshi_13 (10/5): Want the full experience of Rainier - stay here! - Wonderful place to stay at the bad of Mt Rainier This is what I always had envisioned for a national park lodge. The rooms were right sized for our family of 3 (though the shower was super tight) and comfy. The bed was much more comfortable than I expected. The diner downstairs is quaint and the food delicious! The Longmire pot roast and Mac and cheese are wicked good, same for the omelette for breakfast. There is a sitting room with a fireplace and board games. The front porch is huge with room to sit outside and look into the forest while sipping a beverage or coffee Tons of trails are right at the inn as well. There’s no internet, and that’s just fine. You are there for the forest and experience!
• 382vinceg (2/5): Room delay of 1 hour 45 minutes - After arriving, it took 1 hour 45 minutes to get our room key. The room was promised in an hour; when we returned, it still was not ready. The front desk girl left her post unattended for 20 minutes while six couples waited in line behind us. When I asked for a manager, all I got was an incredibly rude and mouthy person who did absolutely nothing but call me a name. So very ignorant, what a terrible way to start a much-anticipated stay.
• kjtex2016 (10/5): Wow! - The staff at this hotel is great. They help with everything! The hotel is rustic in a fun and relaxing way. There is no WiFi or cell phone service, but they helped me find open WiFi at the museum which is walking distance from the hotel. I was still able to text my children every day thanks to that WiFi. I felt disconnected, but did not feel isolated.
• KB231blue (8/5): Rustic Inn but its in the park! - We stayed one night in Mount Ranier NP at the National Park Inn. The accommodations were basic but we enjoyed being in the park. Some of the front desk staff were great and others were okay. (the lady who checked us in was great but when we went back with a question the gentleman there had no idea). We stayed in a room with two double beds and a sink. The bathroom was around the corner (2 stalls) and the shower was right across from our room. We had no issues using any of the facilities. The only negative was the bright hallway light that shone in when you opened the door in the middle of the night to go to the restroom. There is no a/c but there is a fan and the temperature does drop as the sun sets and the room cooled off nicely. There is NO wifi and cell reception is spotty in the park. We did not eat in the lodge, instead we drove just outside of the park to Ashford.
• Gayle (8/5): - The National Park Inn is was an excellent place to stay due to its location within the Park and its historic significance. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and we were able to do lots of various walks around the hotel. We enjoyed dining at the restaurant and sitting by the huge open fire on a cold day.

• Vaughn (6/5): - I did not look as I operate on the general assumption that any hotel I book will have a full bathroom, note that this one does not. It is dormitory style with a stalled toilet bathroom off the hallway as well as shower rooms. The shower room is one individual shower but there is no way to know if it is clean or dirty, so make sure you bring shower shoes. This property is actually in the park which is nice for early hikes, but means no cell service. This hotel also does not offer WiFi, but you can stand on the porch of the museum two buildings away for internet access. That did not bother me but did bother others of our party. The attached restaurant is very limited and expensive($35 for two small slices of meatloaf a dollop of mashed potatoes and four pieces of asparagus), I would recommend that you eat in town as we heard from other patrons it was very good. As for my lower rating on cleanliness, again lies a lot with the shower but also we were on the property for about 24 hours and one of the stalls in the only restroom near our room did not have toilet paper at all. In the room itself there was dirt and debris under along the walls and it had a disturbing smell so the window had to be open the whole time. On the upside of this place, there is a common area with a large fireplace which was really nice after our snow filled hikes during the day. It was also a place where we swapped stories with other hotel guests, which was very pleasant and special to this type of hotel.

• Verified traveler (2/5): Not worth it - At check in the person at the front desk was careless with my credit card and left it visible for a random person at the desk to see. Since he was staring at it for a long time--I will now have to call my bank to cancel it for safety reasons, The Inn also does not have its own parking lot--it is shared with the general public, and there are no cameras if in case you were hoping there was some form of security to keep your car safe. There is absolutely no cell service, so be sure to not have an emergency when staying at the hotel or in the surrounding areas. The hotel nickel and dimes their guests for basic amenities such as coffee and tea--and only has them free for a short time so you better wake up early. Their beds are lumpy, old, and uncomfortable. The shared showers are gross, unclean (i.e. hair, pubic hair, et cetera), and the shared toilets were always out of seat covers and toilet paper. If you stay here be prepared to bring your food and drinks, otherwise you will get charged ridiculously overpriced prices for every little thing. This place certainly detracts from the purpose of the National Parks being for everyone to enjoy--apparently they meant only for the well-to-do to enjoy.

• Jeremy (8/5): - It is a very conveniently located inside the park. However, there was no hot water during night time and we only find out when we prepare for shower. Hot water resumes the following morning. The rooms also have no tv and wifi. Hence, will need to be mentally prepared and think of some entertainment for the small kids. The restaurant staffs were great but the kitchen was understaff with only 1 chef and we waited more than 30 min for our food.

Came to remind the receptionist, she said she will take care of, but nothing has been done after almost 2 days. Toilets are smelly. Foods are so so but very expensive in comparison with some other restaurants in the area.

Mine was kinda cold too, but didn’t want to wait longer so I didn’t say anything. The waffle itself was good just cold. The room was cute, we had a full bathroom in our room which was nice. Not all rooms do, they have shower rooms. The history of the in was cool.

• Alan (10/5): - Very clean inn. Even though most rooms share a shower/bath area and bathroom in the halls, they were spotless and always available. Nice view of Mount Rainier from the front porch. I tried the blackberry crumble in the dining room based on other reviews. It did not disappoint!
• Tammy (8/5): - Quaint hotel in Mt. Rainier National Park. The room we had was a queen with shared bathrooms. Small room but did have a little sink and vanity. Clean room with the basics. No TV or internet if you need those. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
• Paul (6/5): - We had a room with a shared bathroom and shower (would guess shared between half a dozen rooms). The room was small but comfortable and clean, with two twin beds and a small sink and dresser. Upon entry, the window was open apparently airing the place out. There was some type of odor, not sure what, maybe just the mustiness of an old building. The beds were comfortable, and the in-room sink was convenient though quite small. The shared bathroom had a constant odor but probably to be expected, large roll toilet paper reminded me of gas station toilets. The shared shower was closet size and quite spartan. The water never got hot or even warm, basically endured a cool shower at best. Could definitely hear other guests moving about in adjacent rooms, noise travels thru the walls. The inn is from a bygone era, quaint and o.k. for a night's stay but don't expect modern conveniences. We had dinner and breakfast in the onsite restaurant. Food was o.k., breakfast was the better deal and tastier. But both overpriced for what one gets. If I remember correctly, 18 bucks for mac and cheese, 16 bucks for a small salad, 24 or 26 bucks for a hamburger just seems excessive. There must be a significant surcharge for being located in a national park. The service folks were fine, no problems. The fireplace lounge is very comfortable with free coffee or tea in the mornings. The souvenir shop next door to the inn is very nice.

The lounge had a real wood burning fire place which was a cozy place and a chance to chat with fellow travelers. The Inn being located in the park was a great to visit the park.
• Susan (8/5): - The food was good, our room a bit small, but the location was EXCEPTIONAL! Sitting on the front porch with a warm drink admiring Mt. Rainier after a long hike was the best ending to our day. Our servers went above and beyond to make our dining experiences enjoyable and relaxing.

The food was great. The servers were exceptional. Too bad I didn’t get the name of the server who went above and beyond to bring our dessert on the balcony so we can watch the sunset.
• bethelandi (8/5): Yes to the National Historic Inn during the off season. - We were there near the end of April. there were only 7 rooms booked at the National Historic Inn. The staff took time to talk to us, tell us about the place, provide tea and biscuits, lots of games and puzzles, a fireplace, and more. The meals were excellent. The staff said they have nights during the winter when there are no guests! This is a great time to visit the park. You think you own the place and there are still some hikes and waterfalls, and things to do.
• Donna (10/5): - Historical Hotel. Did not disappoint! Loved the shower and location of room number 1. Food was over the top with very generous portions. The view of Mt Rainier from the front veranda was stunning. My husband and I enjoyed our drive to Paradise and back. Very convenient location.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Room 2 - The ground floor handicapped room bed was fixed to the wall, and unable to be moved, leaving a 12 inch "walking" space between the bed and the wall heater at floor level. This was difficult to manage in getting into and out of the bed on that side. Theere was also only the bed surface and a small nightstand as solid surfaces to place luggage and equipment on. A second small nightstand might have been helpful. Otherwise a most pleasant stay.
• okeedoke (10/5): An enchanting stay! - We had always only visited this lovely, historic Inn, but never before stayed. Now, we can say we'll be back to stay again! We just loved our three-night stay and highly recommend to others. We stayed in a Deluxe ADA room and found the accommodations above reproach. The staff were just the friendliest folks and the lobby always had a warm, large fire, with cocoa and cider close by. It snowed during our stay, so the ambiance was phenomenal! The Dining Room served fine meals, even though it's advertised as "casual dining." And, of course, it's only 12-miles-up to lovely Paradise and all the snow and trails you could want. This is indeed a gem. Mt. Rainier is best when you can stay close by...and this is as close as possible:)
• James (10/5): - It should be understood by everyone staying at the National Park Inn that this is a national park experience. That means there is no wi-fi, and the bathrooms will be shared. That said, I felt very fortunate to be able to book at the National Park Inn. Often, these kinds of places are booked years in advance, but this one is not. I hike early in the morning, so I was able to use the showers at 4:30 AM before anyone else was up. There are some trails nearby, which makes the Inn very convenient. Then the restaurant opens up for business, and the staff there is very friendly. I enjoyed the experience very much, and I would be happy to recommend it.
