- AimBar12 (10/5): Service and Attention to Detail is Amazing! - The attention to detail at this hotel is outstanding. It is a beautiful hideaway tucked into Indian Springs. It feels like a small, cozy resort. The restaurant food is delicious. The complimentary coffee by the pool in the morning is a fun way to start your day. They also pass cold treats around daily while you're lounging at the pool which is a fun surprise.

Totally thoughtful, attentive, and real. You can feel when a place cares, and Desert Sands absolutely does. We stayed in the Presidential Suite, and it was such a special space. Comfortable, chicly done, and full of small touches that made it feel personal rather than just “nice.” What meant the most, though, was the staff. Every interaction felt warm and sincere. A special thank you to the restaurant team for helping coordinate a surprise so seamlessly. They were a huge part of making the night what it was. And Jennifer, the hotel manager was the best ever maybe? Your presence and care throughout made a lasting impression, and it didn’t go unnoticed. Part of me wants to keep this place a quiet secret… but you’ve earned the praise.

- Francesco13121971 (10/5): A relaxing escape - I love to stay at the SANDS, the decor is classy, beautiful, relaxing and reminds me of Morocco. I like to use the pool and jacuzzi when I can. I like the space of the room, the details of the decor, the relaxing water fountain in the patio. The hotel personnel is always smiling and welcoming.

- Christopher (8/5): Overall, we enjoyed the stay and will be back on the future. - Beautiful grounds and a phenomenal Olympic size pool with seating, umbrellas and tables surround it. Lotions and drinks were provided pool side with relaxing music. After a long afternoon watching the tennis tournament, we returned to the hotel and tried to get seated for a small bite or drink at about 7:00 PM. We were told we could not walk up without a reservation even though there were plenty of available tables. I then asked if we could sit and have a drink and we were told no. Very disappointing to not be able to relax at your own hotel restaurant and/or bar. It may have been a staffing shortage, but no information was given.

- Rococo Travelers dot com (7/5): Still wonderful and staff is amazing! - Second year staying here for the beginning of tennis qualifying matches for the BNP Paribas, Indian Wells tournament and still love the decor and ambiance of this stay! Beds are comfortable, attention to detail is amazing, and staff is very friendly! The smell of the orange blossoms or jasmine is wonderful too... but did not try any of the spa treatments. Food is really, really good and loved the offer to split salad and entree to save. Resort fees obviously were over the top and unknown to us until check-in! Appreciated the tennis ball style cake pops in the room but we know we paid for them (resort fee plus tax; $47.23!). After we left we were billed for waters we did not take from the mini-bar. Mini-bar and buffet in room was over the top and we really did not need so many temptations - not enough room to put our own stuff and moved there candy and lotions around. Staff removed extra charges but we felt like we were being bled for more cash after check out! Very expensive - could not justify paying for extras or spa treatments. I am sorry to say we likely will try something new next year.

- willrW3447ZH (10/5): Quaint and stylish little hotel. - Our original reservation was for one night, but the experience was so pleasant we ended up staying for an additional nine nights. The upscale yet retro charm cannot be beat if you are looking for a tasteful, quiet and relaxing place to unwind. The grounds were very tidy and the rooms were stylish and well appointed. Most importantly, this establishment excels at attention to detail and customer/guest service. The staff were super friendly, accommodating and went out of their way to create a wonderful stay for us. We have stayed at many other nice places in the area over decades, but this is by far my favorite. So glad to have recently discovered it.

Room was very comfortable & filled with special decorator touches. Staff treated us very well, especially Jennifer at the front desk - she is a star— answered all our questions & helped us extend our stay as we did not want to leave! - 858pattyv (10/5): Quiet, Convenient, Charming - This is a Mr. and Mrs. Smith property - the first one that I have stayed out. It is retro but not old. I was a little surprised by the smallness of the room. I got upgraded one level and was alone but with two of us in there it would have been tight. There was a lovely patio with a lounging area. Poolside was quiet with a beautiful overhang of trees so you could choose how much sun to get. The pool itself was awesomely warm, well sized, and welcoming. Jacuzzi was back in a corner. Pink Cabana was on site for meals and the food seemed appealing but on the higher end of the price spectrum for a breakfast or lunch - but then again I don't spend much usually. Rooms were very well appointed. Parking was easy and location great for adventures both east and west. One could also just enjoy a vacay by the poolside as well. The staff was friendly, observant, and gracious. Bed and pillows were of high quality. I like that there was a variety of price points for rooms which also reflect the uniqueness of each of hte rooms. Certainly a destination place.

- AJS291 (4/5): Used to be great - now not so much - We've stayed many times at The Sands and it was always great so we were excited to stay again. We checked in at 3.15pm and were told the room wasn't ready but they were going to be "super fast" getting it ready. They said they'd text me to let me know when it was ready. At 5.45pm I called back to check and was told it was finally ready. During the evening it was very hot as can be expected of course in Palm Desert, so we turned the AC on. The vibration every 5 seconds made sleep impossible, and after we both took Advil for the second time, we decided to check out early. We cannot be the first people to have had this issue with the AC and it's clearly just laziness why it hasn't been fixed. I never want to leave a bad review but in this case it's definitely warranted.

Literie de qualité dans une chambre paisible malgré la disposition autour de la piscine. Le service au restaurant laisse parfois une impression de désintérêt et la carte peut être un peu courte pour un séjour de plusieurs nuits. Le service en chambre se contente de refaire le lit sans se préoccuper de la salle de bains. Et surtout, attention aux resort fees de 42 USD par nuit plus taxes qui, si ils sont annoncés lors du check-in, ne sont pas compris dans le prix affiché sur booking…

Loved loved my room... the design and decor so thoughtfully executed... appreciated the well stocked mini bar... could have soaked in the bathtub for hours... the private balcony where I enjoyed morning coffee... the friendly staff at the front desk made me feel like a member of the "Sands Family"!! I enjoyed the great variety on the menu in the Pink Cabana while in the beautiful restaurant and also when it was delivered to my room it was still hot!!! Great recommendation to have the drybrush massage treatment from Stephen... was the best!!! I'm looking forward to returning often while my home is being renovated!!! ❤️🌷

- SAGAR (8/5): - Location and ambience are great. The overall vibe is nice. The king room assigned to us was compact though and the for sale goodies occupied the entire table top. Also the mattress wasn’t very comfortable. Overall the room was clean but patio was not. The hot tub wasn’t clean either which was shocking. Staff is very polite and welcoming!

First of all; the pics due no justice on the elegance of the room. The king size bed is so comfortable & pool lounging area is beautiful! The early morning coffee was delicious, provided for all guests in the pool area. Grateful for the gifted champagne bottle in the room & housekeeping daily services. Really felt like a queen.

The hospitality across the board was excellent. The staff clearly has good training and I highly recommend. Comfort at all levels is clearly what the mission is for the Sands. Lunch menu was tasty also! The dinner menu!! The dinner menu tastes good but for like 1990s execution of "fine dining". Not to tear up a good chef...the food is clearly well prepared, but it is dated. It tasted like well prepared "wedding venue" food.

Every staff member I encountered was very friendly and helpful. The food from the restaurant was very delicious. I loved how quiet it was during our weekday stay. It was clean and just absolute perfection. I will definitely be staying here again. 10/10 recommend for your stay.

- nicolevP284JR (10/5): FAVORITE HOTEL - Sands is my husband and my FAVORITE hotel. We stay here once a year for our annual Palm Springs trip and it never disappoints. The service and hospitality is absolutely unmatched. We always stay for a week and the Sands truly feels like our home away from home. The staff bends over backwards to help with whatever you need. Their pool, day beds and lounge chairs make it so you never want to leave during the day. The room is always spotless and incredibly comfortable. The attention to detail is unlike any hotel I have every stayed at. The pool staff will walk around and offer little complimentary refreshments or nibbles while you lay by the pool, the bathroom and sunscreen products they provide are quality, the Moroccan iced tea in the lobby is always a refreshing treat, the aesthetic is immaculate and the food is delicious. This place is such a well run and well greased machine. In the 6 years (6 times) that we have stayed here, there has never been anything that has gone wrong. This is the only trip we go on where at the end, we just don't ever want to go home. It's an oasis and a little slice of paradise and I already can't wait for our next trip.
- tnavv (10/5): Worth the splurge! - This place is not only beautiful but so welcoming! I will definitely be bringing my money here next time I’m in Palm Springs. Yes, it is pricey, but it is totally worth it I promise! The atmosphere, staff, and toiletries they offer are beautiful as well. Shout out to the staff who was there when I was! (9/12 & 9/13) They were attentive and had a chill welcoming attitude. The gentleman at valet assisted with opening the doors, the receptionist aided me to the right direction, and my server at the pink cabana offered to take my dessert and drink to my room when I asked if they do desserts to go and if I could take my drinks with me. Offered, people. It’s the little things honestly that make a difference and Sands definitely did that. Thank you for the hospitality!

The first time was absolutely wonderful—the staff, attention to detail, and overall service made our stay feel so special. Sadly, this second visit didn’t measure up, and we left feeling disappointed. As Expedia VIP members, we were supposed to receive a bottle of champagne, but it was never provided. Unlike last year, we also didn’t get the thoughtful handwritten note that made our first anniversary visit feel so personal. On top of that, the poolside service was lacking. At check-in, we were told service would be available until 7 pm, but last call was announced before 5. When I asked about ordering inside, I was turned away at the host stand because I wasn’t fully clothed, despite being at the pool. It was a letdown compared to the wonderful experience we had the first time, especially since we chose this hotel again to celebrate such a special occasion. We hope the level of service returns to what made our first stay so memorable.

Everything is thoughtfully done, and the extra touches like champagne and Sinatra playing in your room are amazing touches. Staff is always friendly and helpful and the pool is very refreshing in the hot months. Elpaso shops are very close by and Palm Sorings is only 15/20 mins away.

- corinb529 (10/5): Excellent massage by Steven and a lovely resort - My husband and I stayed here for a quick getaway, and he gifted me a massage at the spa. That day, there was only a male therapist available, and I was a little nervous as I've only worked with women in the past. Steven immediately put me at ease with his professionalism. As a nurse, I greatly appreciated that he frequently explained what he was doing and answered any questions I may have had during his care. I left with muscles relaxed that I hadn't even realized were knotted, and I felt so much better. The hotel itself is also lovely, and the staff are excellent. We loved the Pink Cabana and enjoyed several delicious meals and drinks there. We'll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend.
