Guest Reviews
- Ian (2/5): - The receptionist was brilliant and did her job well.
No shaver socket, no bedside lamps, no hairdryer as advertised. Kettle too big to fit under the tap. Shower door could not be totally closed. Mildew and cracked tiles in shower room. Window sill had half the paint missing. I have photos of everything which I will send to head office. Hotel basically needs a revamp as not really fit for purpose. Tonight we are in another motorway services hotel which is cheaper and 5 star by comparison.
- Selina (2/5): - Very small
Rooms couldn’t move in them. Very cold
- Brianna (2/5): - This is by far the most disgusting place I’ve ever seen. There was literal feces smeared on the wall. The mattresses have to be 40 years old at least and are stained beyond anything my worst nightmares could come up with. The shared bathrooms were even worse. I can’t believe Expedia even allows a place like this on their site. The health department needs to be called. We left and had to use hand sanitizer just from being in the building.
- Joanne (6/5): - Staff were great and really helpful. You get what you pay for, it is rough around the edges (carpets are terrible and some of the toilets and showers were locked so we were unable to use them). A handy location for the sites.
- Robert (2/5): - Awful place dirty smelly room overwhelming smell of drugs we refused to stay .never done that before anywher but this was absolutely disgusting
- James (6/5): - You get what you pay for, the room nice enough but there cracked paint and the pilows were very small but for the price it was well worth . comftable bed and clean. Maybe tad nosy from other guests as walls aren't thick so maybe a set of ear plugs and your good to go.
- Anita (2/5): Filthy hotel, should be fumigated. - We arrived at hotel at 9pm. Given room key. Even going to room, the hotel smelt dirty. Got to room, sat on the bed and there was a horrible smell. We traced the smell to the mattress, which looked like it had been used as a toilet. Went to reception to complain and was told all the other rooms were just the same as it was a budget hotel. Tried to contact Hotels.com to no avail. We tried all local hotels to try to get a room, again to no avail. As my husband is disabled we had no alternative but to go back to the hotel. On getting back to the hotel the man on reception as good as laughed as us, and said he told us we wouldn't get anywhere else. So we had no alternative but to go back to the room. We ended up watching tv until 2am, lying on top of the bed in our pj's and onesies, with the window open as the smell was that bad. The bed was so disgusting that you could not have got under the covers. We would recommend NOT to use this hotel as it truly is filthy and we are disgusted by the fact that Hotels.com have this hotel listed on their website. If you do book this hotel we would recommend you do remove the sheet and look at the mattress before sleeping on it. Please see the photos we have put on.
- glenda (2/5): - Not clean
- Marc (2/5): - The bed wasn’t the best an I suffer with back problems an I asked to change the room an the block with the glasses gave me attended say there’s nothing wrong with the bed an there clearly was the pillow side was lower than the end you put your feet when you layed down on it an by eye you could see
- John (2/5): - Property needs renovation in a big way
- Ryan (6/5): - Rooms were interesting
- Svetlin (2/5): - Everything is old and unmaintained. Dirty and torn carpet. Two toilets and two bathrooms for the entire corridor (more than 15 rooms). I entered the toilet with my backpack on my back and the door closed behind me. It is so narrow that I had to take off my backpack to be able to turn around.
- Charmaine (2/5): Will never stay here again - Very dirty, ripped blind, noisy. The toilets and showers are seperate to the room, very dirty, strong smell of urine.
- Farrison (10/5): - It was very good
- Shaena (4/5): - Unbelievable bed! Felt every spring. Just awful.
- John (4/5): - Room furnishings not good shower did not work properly. Shower head leaked heavily. Room very small and cramped. The hotel personnel were very nice
- Martin (6/5): - Untidy and tired hotel. Very budget.
- Catriona (4/5): Get what you pay for..... - Adequate accommodatio. Very basic, motel style rooms. Shared toilets and showers. Room had sink and tv. Sheets were clean and towels and a bar of soap provided. Reception staff were nice and friendly.
- Gerard (2/5): Avoid. - The actual ‘stay’ lasted less than one hour after I found bed bugs in the room. Immediately checked out and found other accommodation.
Avoid avoid avoid.
- Liz (2/5): Do not book this place - Hotels.com should be ashamed of adverusing this Metro hotel. It was filthy and other clean bedding it was like a prison
- Wanda (6/5): - Shower and toilet in same room. Rooms very small.
- Sherry (4/5): - There was nothing on the website that told me that this hotel is being used for homeless people
- Flordeliza (6/5): - Staff are friendly and helpful.
- Austin (2/5): - Booked for four days but wound up leaving after two because there was bed bugs.
- Michael (6/5): It's ok - Very friendly staff ,room small and compact but slept well , very good value for the stay ,would stay again
- Colin (6/5): - Fine for a bed of you have an early morning flight
- Colin (2/5): - Was damp an awful smell and tge room was very damp and smelly toilet in a shower the heater very old and broken beds smelt of damp very badly i handed the key bk in my partner has sever asmah couldnt of stayed tgere we booked another hotel
- Tim (8/5): - Definitely pet friendly. Bedding was clean and room secure. For the price paid (average less than half the others within a 50 mile radius) you expect a few niggles, but nothing that would stop me staying again. Ideal base for Kelpies, Falkirk Wheel, and train to Edinburgh (in Fringe season). Ideal for a one or two night stopover, which is probably why it is so popular with tradespeople.
Very good value for money.
- Beverley (10/5): - I really enjoyed our 3 night stay. Our room was very clean. Housekeeping came round every day. Shower facilities were very clean. If I was to add anything it would be some outside seating area.
- EDWARD (6/5): - Mushrooms growing in the shower which in its self was a combined shower toilet and sink Day 2 the cleaner had removed the mushrooms which were not new but missed the dirty floor the wall side of the toilet .Duvet seemed to smell door hard to unlock and lock one headboard (Twin room with suite) was ripped. The page was not clear about the kitchen made it seem like you had one in your room which was doubtfull.Tv remote handed over with keys felt like a prision batteries were flat had to hold right next to tv to use.
- Leon (8/5): - It was sufficient for my needs at a reasonable price.
- Joseph T (8/5): - The experience based on the price was amazing. We paid for a room with a shower but we didn't use it since we left the window open because it was hot. The bed wasnt great but the staff gave us and extra blanket for my wife to use for more comfort. The hotel is next to 2 good restaurants and was a nice 30-45 minute walk to stores or the train. Would come back again.
- Andrew (6/5): - The only thing I can say that i wasn’t happy with is the house keeping department, my room wasn’t cleaned for the whole 3 days during my stay, bedsheets wasn’t changed room wasn’t hoovered🙁🙁
- Gary (4/5): - Staff were professional and friendly. The rooms and facilities were more suited for homeless people to get them off the streets.
- Sara (8/5): - The room was very clean and the staff friendly and helpful.
- John (6/5): - I had one of the "en-suite" rooms. Very strange having the toilet and sink inside the shower cabinet so once you've used the shower everything gets wet! You have to dry your feet after using the toilet and sink. Still better than having to walk down the corridor to use one of the plastic cubicles.
The paintwork on the windowsill was in very poor condition although I did notice work being carried out in the adjacent rooms.
- Simon (8/5): - a pleasant place to stay, that is well located and offers useful services with friendly and helpful staff
- Janet (6/5): Metro Inns Falkirk - Comfortables beds in a compact room. Toilet based in the enclosed shower space with clesr shower door a bit of surprise.
- Kimberley (2/5): - Had no idea there was no bathroom in the room. Sorry but I’m not in the habit of walking up a hall in a towel. Photos show a photo of a bathroom within the room. I checked out within 2 hours
- Michael (8/5): Satisfied - The room was very small and had a strange all in one shower and toilet combination. It was clean and with friendly staff though. All I needed was a bed for the night at a reasonable price however and this delivered that.
- Isaac (6/5): - Value for money!
- Sheila (2/5): - Was more like a 'Doss House'
No toilet or shower in the room and 2 of 3 separate toilets were out of order.
Other residents were coming out of shower and walking down corridor with a towel around their waist.
Nowhere local for breakfast except for Chinese Buffet restaurant next door.
Staff seemed friendly but as to the condition of hotel very tatty.
Was meant to stay for 3 nights but only because nothing else available that night stayed for one. Left and went to a different hotel for the other 2 nights.
Would not recommend.
- Arlene (4/5): - Staff were friendly. Hotel is very basic no frills. The room was dirty blind was all ripped carpet was all stained frame of bed was filthy walls all marked gap in the door toilets were more like portaloos but they do have en suite rooms
- Bobby (8/5): - Needs a lot of tlc to be put into the rooms, me and my mate had a enuite twin with a lovely shower. Beds were comfy the room was very small and tight on space. The cleanliness of the room wasn't the best as there were dead flies lying around the room and bathroom, was also very badly stained in areas. Some staff were helpful and some not so much. Price for the stay was a bit overpriced for the lack of care gone into it. We would stay again based on the beds being comfy and decent shower. Just hope that when we do return that there has been improvements been made to make the price p/n more worth it
- Amber (6/5): - Everything is fine but room carpet is very dirty
- PRAVESH (2/5): - Food options-nil
Clean is negative 5
Toilet and bathroom is shared with whole floor, possibly with other floors too. Very dirty.
I would have attached photo if such option was available. They should rename themselves hostel/backpackers.
- Munyaradzi (6/5): - Offers good standard budget rooms, so there is value for money if on a budget. However the water glasses, cups and electric jug in the room were dirty.
- MURRAY (4/5): - Tiny room with toilet and hand basin in the shower cubicle. Carpet wet outside of shower. Beds comfortable. 7.00 p.m and had to ask that workmen stopped drilling and making a noise. Told they normally work to 9 or 10 pm. Not far from Falkirk town but need car.
- M. (2/5): - We need refund..as we didn't stayed in this property...and shifted to travel lodge
- Daniel (6/5): - This is the most inexpensive stay in the area. Kind of hard to get to if you don't have a car. We had a shared bathroom, which was a pain in the butt. But a lot cheaper than anything near Edinburgh.
- Randal (4/5): - There was visible mold in the hall and room carpets. The floor in the room was also broken and when you stepped on the floor it gave way. I advised the front desk.
- brian (2/5): - There was mold growing outside of the bathroom in the room, the sheets you’re not clean, many problems with the commode in the
- Odunola (2/5): - Wasn’t enjoyable we couldn’t get our room hoovered throughout our 3 nights stay despite telling the staffs. Very smelly place never again .
- John (2/5): - Absolutely disgusting
- David (4/5): You get what you pay for - Cheap and very basic. Dirty carpets and very dusty.
- philip (8/5): Metro Inns Adventure - Due to my mistake when booking, we had not realized that all rooms weren't en-suite. This is aajor factor for us as my husband is disabled. The receptionist on duty 6/8/25 around 14:30, was so helpful and managed to get us sorted.
The rooms were lovely and clean as were towels and bedding.
- Kalim (6/5): - Basic but clean and comfortable, had a good nights sleep
- Kudzai Hillary (8/5): - Budget-friendly hotel in a convenient location near the M9 and Falkirk attractions. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the shared kitchen was useful. Rooms and bathrooms are basic and could be cleaner, but fine for a short, low-cost stay.
- Diana (8/5): - Functional and cheap. But you get what you paid for. Overall it was a great experience considering the price. We will come back.
- Darren (8/5): - Yes it was fine ,staff very helpful and polite ,rooms cleaned daily , additional facilities come in handy ,and convenient.
Overall not a bad stay .
- Violet (8/5): - Good
- Laura (8/5): - Had a great stay would stay again staff very nice and friendly
- Mark (8/5): - Basic accommodation, very clean and comfortable.
- Matthew (4/5): - The whole place needs a really good scrub. I get it's a budget place but at least hoover the rooms now and again
- Peter (2/5): - this is a real budget option. We had no en suite so shared bathroom and shower facilities which were impossible to access. Run down and rough. Receptionist was nice and kind but that’s the only plus
- Atikur (6/5): - Bedrooms were in poor condition not as expected. Reception staff very friendly.
Shower rooms were good.
Utensils missing from separate kitchen. Check out time too early.
- Pamoda (4/5): - The frot desk member was friendly, and the place is ideal if you just need somewhere to sleep after a long day. It’s more convenient if you have your own vehicle — public transport is possible but not easy.
The bed was good. However, there was a sink in the room that wasn’t mentioned in the listing, which I found a bit awkward. The window was also difficult to open. There was no electric kettle, and we had to go down to the kitchen just to make a hot drink. Considering the price, it was disappointing that not even a tea bag or coffee sachet was provided.
There was a shared kitchen. But, most of the cookware was either unclean or not suitable for using. On the positive side, disposable cups, plates, and spoons were available.
The bathrooms were clean, but there were a limited number of toilets, and some lighting issues in both the toilet and shower areas — closing the door would turn the light off. The fixed showerhead couldn’t be adjusted, making it difficult to shower without getting your hair wet. The water shut off every 6–7 seconds, requiring you to constantly press the shower valve, which made showering very uncomfortable.
Overall, this place is fine for a one-night stay or have no other options, but don’t expect much comfort.
- Martin (6/5): - 👍
- Adel (10/5): - الغرف و دورات المياة صغيرة مع ذلك فيها مناسبه إلى حد ما
- Simon (8/5): Quiet and good value - Peaceful and friendly place to stay. Conveniently located. You can use the shared kitchen.
- Denyse (4/5): - Toilet and shower lights do not stay on. Do not rely on car GPS to find the premises.
- Plagats (2/5): - Its horrible, dirty and not kid friendly definitely a no
- Tim (2/5): - Thread bare carpets, bathroom facilities border line un hygienic the window in room was crumbling.
- Gavin (4/5): Nice staff - Very basic - tired and dated. Nice staff though.
- Kenneth (4/5): - It’s cheap and dated but also incredibly poor quality. The ladder to the bunk bed is loose and moves when someone tries to use it. The room stinks of dog and there is dog hair all over the carpet. Beds, mattresses, and pillows incredibly uncomfortable.
- Rizwan (2/5): - Very bad , very terrible , dirty mosquitoes bad enviroemwnt paid extra for toilet room
- Jasmin (2/5): - I never write reviews but I felt like I had to for this ‘hotel’…I could tell the owner is really making an effort to improve the hotel. After we complained he said he has been giving the rooms new paint and beds… but I don’t think anything could save this place. It needs to be knocked down to be honest. As soon as you walk in it STINKS of smoke and feels grotty. The carpet has stains and stuff all over it. We had gross stuff on the bed sheets. After complaining he said he would move us to another room but couldn’t give us a refund so we decided to just sleep in our sleeping bags on top of the beds. Very disappointing
- Sean (2/5): - The room was dirty, mouldy and there were fleas in the bed.
- Derek (4/5): - The property is very basic. Plastic shower room and plastic toilet at end of corridor. Clean in the afternoon but very poor by the morning. People walking around the corridor most of the night and at two thirty in the morning a bloke whistling his dog! No coffee machine in room, but one in reception at a price.
- Glen (2/5): Awful place dreadful - This was by far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in and what an embarrassment for hotels.com to list this hotel it’s totally disgusting so sold and so out of touch with what a hotel is about. I felt as if I was staying in a prison although you’d have more comfort in a prison than this place. The showers were awful the bedroom felt like a prison cell and no food or drinks awful spot it should be demolished
- Cihan (6/5): - It was good
- Tony (2/5): - Absolutely filthy from the outside in staff ok but it the worst place i have ever had the misfortune of spending the night in.
Never again.
- Mr (2/5): Extremely terrible - It was terrible experience. It was totally unexpected and out of imagination. They have not specifically mentioned about the shared aminities. Only a single room is there as a accommodation. All the rest of the basic aminities like, washroom, kithchen is shared which not clearly mentioned in the advertisement. When you enter inside the hotel, it seems like hostels with dirty rooms, kitchens and Washrooms. I am pure vegetarian, how can i use any upholstery and cutlery from the kitchen where some people are cooking non veg things.
- Margaret (2/5): - Disgusting filthy place from the entrance onwards. Drunken brawl taking place on arrival, 2 kids running smock around the corridors, reception not manned at 6pm, waited 10 mins for service, Furniture n fitting should be in bin, bedding stained and filthy. Shower not fit to be used , sink all scum. Should be closed down Photographs will prove all the above.
- Linda (6/5): - Basic conditions, reflected in the price. Great for one night, no more!
Room smelt of mould - from shower toilet 'closet'.
Staff friendly and helpful.
- Alex (2/5): - The hotel was unique right enough.
The room was stinking, dirty and
- J (8/5): Ok for a quick stop - Friendly staff but very tired decor. Although room has been cleaned
- Mandy (2/5): - Staff were pleasant but hotel & room appalling. Even for a budget hotel it was terrible. Toilet inside the shower cubicle, tiles broken, filthy dirty. Carpets looked like a murder had taken place. Needs to be closed down & start again. I was charged additional £10 on top of what id originally paid. Had no choice but to stay but thankfully only one night. Never again 😒
- Frieda (6/5): - Hotel was cheap for a reason, very much like a homeless hostel. Nothing drastically wrong but not the most relaxing stay you will ever have. Our room had a shower cubical with a toilet in it and a sink , not sure how you would use the shower?
- James (10/5): - Budget
- Ciaran (10/5): -
- Stefan (4/5): - Bathrooms and showers are shared at the end of the hall - no in-room bathroom. WC had no toilet paper and there is a line to get in. Rooms are noisy with people hanging-out in front of your window, smoking, drinking and talking all night - extremely hard to sleep and rest. Rooms are tiny with no space to open luggage and still move around. There is a coffee machine in the lobby that makes regular and specialty coffee for 1 pound 60 pence. Staff is very friendly though and ready to help. The internet is practically non-existent with long wait for pages to download. Takes about 3 - 4 minutes for a simple email to pop-up.
- Sheldon (8/5): - It was exactly what was expected. The only real "issue" is the bathroom had a frosted glass door and when you are with friends that's not really enough. Thankfully there are bathrooms outside of the room so it was fine
- Chris (8/5): - It was alright..
- Thomas (6/5): - Don’t like toilet inside the shower!
Rubbish under the bed
Small room
- Denise (6/5): - Not the best stay I’ve had but was okay for 1 night
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not for experienced traveler - Great staff but felt like a homeless housing unit. Dirty carpets and poorly supplied
- Joseph (10/5): - The hotel was first class, so good we have booked again.
- Kenny (10/5): - Perfect for one night stay clean room and bed
- Tracey (2/5): - It's a hostel. Whole place needs refurbished. And a good clean. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
